The hot dog and soda combo for $1.50 is legendary for a reason. It's filling, it's satisfying, and that price hasn't changed in decades. If you're on a budget or just don't feel like spending, this is your move. The pizza by the slice is genuinely good for what it is, easily some of the best in the "quick and cheap" category in SF. Now for my grievances: the combo pizza is gone, and so is the Polish dog, which was honestly one of my favorites. Those were real losses and I'm not over it. If I'm being bad, I'll sneak a Very Berry sundae. Lactose intolerance be damned, sometimes it's worth it. I just try not to make it a habit. This isn't fine dining and it doesn't pretend to be.
