We were seeing a movie nearby, so we stopped in for a bite before the show! There is a small lot outside of this spot with parking available. The interior is sterile, but at the same time a bit messy. It isn't the most welcoming space and could use an upgrade for individuals to dine in. Counter service was friendly and our food arrived decently quick. This spot falls into a similar family as Dave's Hot Chicken, with sandwiches and tenders available in a variety of spice levels. I had the tenders, with BBQ and Mild sauce. They were super yummy and juicy and came with a great dipping sauce. I also appreciated the seasoning on the fries and the pickles served with the tenders. Went here on a Sunday evening with my brother and it wasn't too busy. The place was clean and bright, with plenty of seating available. I ordered the strips with mild (Mini Coop) heat. The strips were crisp, but I wouldn't say they were "crunchy" crispy. The chicken meat was moist and tender, but I did think most of the flavoring came from the comeback sauce and the spice coated on the strip, but nonetheless when eaten all together it was a morish piece of friend chicken. The batter was not too oily either. The fries were battered and very crispy with a soft fluffy interior, and the pickles were acidic and refreshing in between each bite. For the price of $13, it was filling and a good bang for the buck. Not the best fried chicken I've had but very solid. Last night was my first time trying Nashville Coop. We placed a to-go order for the Strip Box and the Texas Toast box plus a pint of the Créme of the Coop ice cream. The chicken here is outstanding. It's so nice to have that real chicken meat texture that tears apart instead of something more ground up with filler in it. It's juicy and tastes high quality plus the spices coated on the outside elevate things nicely. I heard the food can be pretty spicy here so I played it safe with the "Mini Coop" spice-level, which suited me well. Just the right amount to feel flavorful but the spice doesn't last once I take a bite or swig of something else. My sister can't handle spice at all so she opted for the "MN Nice" which she actually said was still kind of spicy for her. So take that as you will if you're not a fan of spice! Their special sauce is good and might remind me of Raising Cane's, though I haven't eaten there recently. The French fries and coleslaw kind of felt standard, to be honest. But I really liked the Texas Toast! Unfortunately, we didn't get to try the pint of ice cream. My wife picked up the order and didn't realize she should have looked for it in the bag. When I called the restaurant about the missing pint, they were incredibly apologetic and offered to make up for it with a pint and more next time I'd come in, but since we don't live nearby, I said just refunding the pint was fine. But knowing how much they care about customer service really did leave a good impression! I'd definitely love to eat from here again. read more

I drive by this place allll the time so had to stop in to give it a try. And I'm so glad I did. I ordered two chicken strips with the mild flavor and dang those are good. Each strip is a huge amount of chicken, flavorful and juicy with a perfect crust. I also enjoyed the coop sauce. The service from everyone I interacted with was perfect. My food came out quick and it stayed hot and crisp during my drive home. There were a couple tables of people dining in and everyone seemed to be enjoying. I came around 4 PM during the week and this place was absolutely empty. It gives fast food vibes but a tier above McDonald's for example. Not a place you would want to spend a really long time. I can appreciate that the menu isn't terribly large, and they have varying degrees of heat. You can add to your chicken tenders. I also peeped some ice cream and slushy's on the menu as well, that, I might, and that's a strong might return to try. The fries were a typical seasoned fry. The chicken tenders were quite large, spicy (I got the second level heat) and seems they were made of chicken breast, rather than dark meat. They were a little drier and tougher than expected, but still good when dipped in the sauce provided. I love fried chicken but this is not great. We ordered the medium and it was definitely hotter than I expected. Not unbearable, but I have a higher tolerance than most Minnesotans. My biggest issue is Nashville style chicken should have a paste or sauce that is added for heat, this is just dry seasoning sprinkled on the chicken after it is fried. read more

I ordered takeout on a Friday night - a 3 chicken strip combo w/ fries, I ordered the middle heat option - coop, also comes with a dipping sauce. I thought it would be kinda busy considering it's newer but it wasn't too bad. There's no "skipping the line" option as the website promotes, there was 1 cashier kind of handling everything in the front. The person in front of me ordered shakes with their takeout order & the cashier walked away for about 5 minutes to prepare them not acknowledging anyone else in line. Right as she was finishing one of ppl putting orders together in the back came to help, I told him my name, he looked where the other orders were being held and walk to the back and kind of looked lost for awhile. Eventually when the cashier came back I told her my name and she got my order right away. I waited about 10 minutes total to get my order. I know they are newer so I'll give some grace, but for sure can improve on customer service. The food- the chicken was good, crispy, well seasoned & the dipping sauce is decent. It was a Thursday evening. I'd never eaten at Nashville coop. My wife and I decided to check out the restaurant inside and place our order in person. We were 2nd in line. The wait was not long at all. We were greeted by Scott and he walked us through the menu and helped us make our selection. I did not feel rushed. Scott really did a great job with making our ordering experience nice. We ordered take out. We sat down in the dining area and waited for our food. The restaurant is clean, the tables were clean and the place had a nice vibe. We probably waited 3-5 minutes. We took our order home to eat. The chicken is awesome, the fries stayed crisp in the box on the way home. Fries are excellent. The coleslaw is very good. Pickles are perfect. The chicken medium spice is perfect for me. A bit spicy and not overwhelming. We also ordered some spicy style - I believe it was 2nd from hottest. Still not beyond spicy, but hot enough for me. This is a sit down restaurant, but you order at the counter and they bring the food to you. Very light and bright dining room. Great chicken. 2 flames spicy was the perfect amount of heat for me. I only wish they had a 2 piece chicken basket option. 3 pieces is too much food. Nashville Coop is located where the old Flynns was at the southwest corner of Penn and 66 th street in Richfield. I used to meet friends for coffee occasionally at Flynns and Nashville Coop is a huge improvement (well almost anything would improve on Flynns). If you want anything other than their fried chicken you are out of luck. You have three choices chicken without bread, chicken on a bun, or chicken on Texas Toast. Your order comes with fries, a small cup of coleslaw (just ok), dill style pickles and dipping sauce. No substitutions or modifications. The food was ok. Not something I would want frequently. You get a choice of spice levels. The heat levels range from MN nice (lowest) to Clucking Hot (spiciest). I grew up in Texas and am not a stranger to spicy food but this is pretty spicy. I got the mini coop which is one step up from the least spicy. It was plenty spicy. I would think the typical Minnesotan would find the highest level of spiciness inedible. The food had an ok taste but like most fast food is heavy and leaves you with a not pleasant after taste. Servings are large - more than we could finish at one time. Service was fine. You order at the counter and they bring you your food. There were lots of diners at noon and the decor is typical of fast food restaurants. Nothing luxurious. There is a parking lot which is nice as on street parking is a challenge. Probably won't return. read more

My mom recommended me to try this place, driven by plenty of times but never stopped in. Ordered 2 chicken sandwiches for my boyfriend and I for lunch, ordered ahead did have to wait in line but they have it in an insulated cooler so it was still hot by the time I got home. We both really enjoyed everything, the sandwhiches came with 3 giant pieces of perfectly fried and juicy chicken, got the level 3 spicy and it was actually pretty spicy to my surprise and delight. More than enough food saved a strip and half the sandwich for dinner. The fries were well seasoned and the sauce was good. Sandwich, fries and sauce were $14, high quality and very tasty. Some of the best Nashville Hot Chicken I've ever had. So glad this place opened just a few streets from my house. The menu is simple and the spice levels are perfect. I got a 3 (4 is the spiciest) and it was a perfect level for me. They also offer 0 spice at all so you can still enjoy the tenders for those who don't like spicy. The menu consists of tenders or a sandwich, fries, and some sides like Mac and Cheese. Everyone working was really friendly and food came out quickly! They are still in their soft opening phase so it can be a little disorganized at times but that's to be expected until they work out the kinks. I will definitely be coming back very often!
