We were looking for a new place for dinner so we came here based on reviews. It was empty at 7:30 p.m. but all of the tables were dirty (someone forgot to wipe after clearing the dishes). The people were nice enough and they quickly wiped up and took our order. They brought out the fried zucchini appetizer complimentary and that was pretty good. I ordered the turkey melt with onion rings as my side. The sandwich was fine and so were the onion rings. My bf ordered the bbq burger and he said the patty tasted like a Costco patty, nothing too flavorful. They didn't put much BBQ sauce but they had mayo on the burger. His fries were dry and tasted like old oil. I think they are probably great with breakfast so will go back earlier in the day. read more

JP's is located at Muir Station Shopping Center next to Nob Hill Foods. We're in that center regularly so discovered JP's the week before it opened almost a year ago and first ate there as soon as it opened. Since then, we eat there at least 2 or 3 times a month. We've had many dishes, including the prime rib for dinner, the Thanksgiving turkey dinner, the fish & chips (best I've had in decades -- I'm picky about that dish), the burgers, the crispy chicken wrap, the tuna melt, the AWESOME Huevos Rancheros for breakfast --- and our last two visits (including Christmas Eve breakfast) --- the Veggie Eggs Benedict, ordered with crispy hashbrowns. Excellent! Generally, dishes are large enough that we pack a box for a home meal. Those are all my dishes. My husband has other ones --- waffles, the 1/2 sandwich/salad combo and more. Needless to say, we love this place. The coffee is great, I've had their "happy hour Modelo Especial" several times and my husband's ice tea glass is kept perpetually full. The owners (a local couple who have worked in restaurants for years, so are skilled in food and hospitality) have created a community center, where many of us enjoy coming often. They and their staff are friendly and welcoming. Prices are reasonable, for the amount of food. For us, the experience is like going to a relative's for a special meal. We are happy --- as they've become a special part of the local neighborhood and, in their first year, JP's often crowded so we wish them continued success. Great job, JP and team!!! read more

The staff was incredibly kind, gave great recommendations on what to order and the food came out within 10 minutes and tasted fantastic ! Absolutely delicious and great prices and portions ! Having been here three times now, I have nothing but raves. Food is delicious, I can't recommend the fried zucchini enough. It's the only vegetable dish I don't have to fight my kids to eat lol The staff are super friendly and welcoming. Prices are reasonable as well. I'm so glad this place is part of Martinez. Solid breakfast joint. Friendly and fast staff. Really appreciated that someone was frequently coming around with the water and coffee! Food wasn't the most amazing food I've ever had but still pretty good. I had an omelette and my wife had the banana pancakes. The scrambled eggs she had were on the over cooked side of things, and the bacon had some grissel running through it. My mom had the classic Benedict and her only complaint was the ham was very thick and not really crisped. But I'll be back, the inviting service is worth it. Also being right off the freeway and in a shopping complex that has plenty of parking makes it a great spot to meet up with others. read more

Second, we got the spiral cut fried zucchini for an appetizer.... Yes we get appetizers for breakfast and YES it was so worth it. It was super yummy! My husband and I traveled to Martinez California to celebrate our middle daughter's 4th of July birthday. I asked her to pick one of her favorite breakfast restaurants, and we would treat the kids and their spouses. She is vegetarian, and gave me 3 suggestions. Of the 3, JP's Bistro was the only one that would take reservations. To avoid the holiday crowds, we chose to reserve a table here. Great choice! The restaurant is clean, roomy, smells good, and has a family friendly atmosphere. It's in a convenient location just off the Highway 4 freeway, in Martinez. We were a group of 6, and were seated at a nice round table. I love round tables; makes it easier to see and talk to everyone. Our server was very kind and efficient. Pretty standard breakfast fare, with lots of choices. The birthday girl and I chose the red, white and blue waffle special. After all, this was Independence Day! Our waffles were topped with fresh strawberries, blueberries and whipped creme. I got the deluxe order w/ bacon and eggs too. Everyone said their meal was very tasty. We had a fun and pleasurable dining experience. While waiting for our food, our girl opened her gifts. When the bill was brought to the table, we were told the birthday girl's meal was on the house. Wow!! That's epic!! I dont know if they do that for everyone, but it was such a nice gesture. Another surprise was the price on the ticket - only $72 for the table, after Ayla's meal was removed. I tried JP's Bistro in the Muir Station Shopping Center next to Nob Hill in Martinez. I asked my waitress, Katie, about the twisted potatoes, and the owner overheard me; the next thing I knew, I had an order of their twisted zucchini in front of me. Oh lordie, it was SCRUMPTIOUS! The zucchini is served on a skewer, thinly sliced and lighted battered tempura style. This is my new favorite spot for fried zucchini! Don't skip on this appetizer if you love zucchini! Thank you, Maeg! Their menu has a great variety with breakfast being served until 2:00 pm. I ordered the Philly sandwich and added mushrooms. It's served on wonderful ciabatta bread and was delish. I opted for a side salad, I'm trying to be healthy, y'all, and it was tasty. To finish the meal, I had their warm and yummy coffee cake with sweet cream. The food and service were outstanding! The food was served very quickly with a smile. The prices are really reasonable. My Philly sandwich and salad were under $12! It's a great place to go with the family for breakfast, lunch, or dinner without feeling like you're breaking the bank. They have prime rib on Friday and Saturday nights, at a great price and offer prime rib and eggs on Saturday and Sunday mornings. I've included photos of the interior and the menu. read more

Came here with a friend who suggested the place because she had heard a good reviews and wanted to try it. So I met her there and let me tell you the food was delicious. The service is kind and friendly. They have patience definitely with the crowd of tables that come in. Since then I've been there three times and going back this week. The club sand and sweet potato fries are very delicious. The omelettes are very delicious and Ruben was good but not to die for but paired with the soup potato fries It made it well worth it. This place gets pretty busy during busy hours however the staff know how to handle the tables and don't look stressed at all compared to some restaurants where the server looks very overwhelmed and forget your water, your bread, refills, or having to ask them multiple times for something. I would say try it and if you're sluggish after Starbucks is in the parking lot. I think it's a drive through one. All and all. 5 stars cuz it's 2023 and after the pandemic customer service and professionalism has gone out the window. I'm glad this place has kept theirs. Our first time going there, and it's our last! My Husband and I waited for 25 minutes just to talk to a waitress, then it took another 25/30 minutes to get our food! The fries were hard, and lacking in flavor. While sitting there, I watched as they brought people food that wasn't their order. Others got their food, but their companion didn't! We went to support our good friend's in this awesome venture . It was packed . But the service was still great and the food came out fast and ready . Our orders were the JP Eggs Benedict which was so flavorful . The kid's pancake which was humongous and really good . Last was the French toast that my wife said was the best she has had . Burgers are cooked "medium" by default (its even listed on the menu" but I would call their "medium" a "medium well" in case there are any concerns there.
