I said I wanted broccoli not the trace of it.

I ordered a fettuccine Alfredo from this place last week. I paid $3 for broccoli and $3 extra to add chicken to my pasta. Total of $21 for the pasta. After 45 minutes I got my pasta I'm a small container. The pasta was dry with barely any sauce. The chicken seemed like fake meat, the ones you buy from cans. But the worst part was the broccoli, I'm adding pictures of the broccoli they added to the pasta. I really believe they got the rests of broccoli in the pan and throw it on my pasta. This was a shame. The pasta didn't taste good, it actually tasted like absolutely nothing. I was very disappointed. I called to ask where was the broccoli in my pasta, because I had paid $3 for it, and the person said the cook claimed to have added it. You can judge from the pictures why I was so mad about it. Never again.

Great find on Yelp! We walked from Ryan Field after the Northwestern vs Penn State game. Just wanted a quick slice and beer. Service was fast and super friendly! We split the special - 8" hot yummy pizza, garden salad, and a couple of beers. Totally worth the visit for the food and friendly service! Thank you Dmitry!

Pequod's Pizza is in my home town of Morton Grove, and I hadn't been there in over 50 years! I…read moreremembered the pizza as being exceptional, and had been talking about going back forever. It was a long standing joke between my husband and myself...could this pizza possibly live up to my expectations? And the answer is.... Yup! It is as good as I remembered it to be. The carmelized pan crust looks burnt (they even warn you on the menu that it's supposed to be black), but it's the best part of the pizza. The pizza/tomato sauce was extremely flavorful (not just plain tomatoes like Lou Malnatis or Rosatis). The sausage was delicious, and the onions were sweet. There was a ton of sausage, and lots of onions on the pizza--very generous portions. The mozzarella cheese appetizer was served very hot, and was pretty good. Basically...your typical frozen moz sticks. Nothing to write home about, but nothing to complain about either. Service was very good. The only negative I can point out is there was an overwhelming mildewy smell when you approach and enter the restaurant. It was very off putting. Overall, this is the best pan pizza I've ever eaten, and as such, I highly recommend Pequod's.

It was a little frustrating, but I figured the walk would be good exercise before a big meal. The restaurant itself is small and has an older, cozy feel. The dining area is quite compact, so I wouldn't recommend it for large groups or parties. Unfortunately, the service left a lot to be desired. We only saw our server three times: to take our order, deliver our food, and bring the check. In between, he was nowhere to be found. The lack of attentiveness and hospitality was disappointing. Thankfully, the deep dish pizza completely turned things around. The crust was crispy with a nice char, giving it excellent flavor and texture. The gooey cheese was evenly distributed throughout the pizza, and I appreciated that the sausage came in generous chunks instead of small crumbles. The tomato sauce was well balanced, neither too sweet nor too acidic which tied everything together beautifully. Despite the disappointing service, the pizza alone is worth coming back for. Next time, though, I'll probably order takeout. With service like this, leaving a tip didn't feel well deserved.

Lefty's has a very small dining room with limited seating (during the warmer months they offer al fresco dining) and a counter running along the main window for additional seating. In this instance seating and interior are secondary to the superb quality of the pizza. We started with a Sketchbook IPA and Peroni beer on draft. They were brought to the table in chilled glasses with a nice head of foam. The beers were presented in glasses with the beer names etched on each of the glasses. Outstanding presentation! For our entree we ordered a 16 inch thin crust pizza with sausage, green peppers, and mushrooms. When it came to the table it was hot and bursting with a sweet aroma and bouquet of colors. The pizza was topped with green, red, and yellow peppers, mushrooms, and chunks of fresh sausage. The sauce was sweet and plentiful and was amply covered with generous portions of melted mozzarella cheese. The pizza was hot and the blended flavors of the combined ingredients were superb. Finally, an establishment that values the quality of ingredients and consistently delivers. Lefty's is one of the very best thin crust pizza's on the north shore. We ordered cheese curds and a medium sized pizza. For toppings, we chose sausage, mushrooms, and fresh garlic. This is not deep dish pizza, I would say it's more of a pan style. It's not heavy like at Gino's East or Giordano's. It has that famous caramelized crust and that airy dough. The toppings were super fresh. We immediately tasted the garlic. Burt's own special blend of the sausage tasted homemade. If you dine in, they cut it for you. If you take it home, you should already have a pizza cutter in your kitchen.
