Pizza was ready on time, hot, and perfect flavor. I got the butter crust as an upgrade, and boy is it amazing. Nothing got soggy on the drive, either. The garden salad (small is enough to keep me in rabbit food for days. The young lady asked if on dressing was enough. I should've looked at the salad first before saying yes. I'm 40, and I've been eating Lou Malnati's for as long as I can remember. I left Chicago at 18, and of all the foods I miss, this is at the very top of the list. There is simply no substitute for their deep dish pizza with that legendary butter crust. I'm a classic cheese fan, but the sausage chunks have become a favorite over the years, too. The thin crust is also fantastic if you're looking for something lighter. This location has been our family's takeout spot my entire life, and it still feels like home. They've done an incredible job scaling the company while preserving the soul of a Chicago family business. The food is consistently excellent, the pricing feels fair, and I'm genuinely proud to bring friends here when I'm back in town. The Malnati salad is a standout, rich and flavorful, and the perfect way to start a pizza night. The storefront is easy to access, always buzzing, and the staff are kind, efficient, and truly embody the brand. I've ordered dozens of frozen Lou Malnati's pies shipped to the East Coast over the years, and they come impressively close to the real thing, especially with a high-functioning oven. Best tip: bake and eat them right away, and butter the pan. I've made the mistake of letting them sit too long in the freezer, and they lose a bit of their magic. I've even worked holiday shifts in the warehouse where these pies ship from, so I don't just love this place, I live and breathe it. Great family, great history, and a world-class pizza experience. The boneless wings and bruschetta are also excellent. The newer app and loyalty program are also a great evolution for the brand. If you're visiting Chicago, this is a must, and with roughly 60 locations to choose from, it's a true Chicago institution you have to experience. If you're in the North Shore suburbs and want a dine-in experience, the original Lou Malnati's in Lincolnwood is fantastic for group dinners and highly recommended. Pizza was... ok. Crust had a weird fried aspect to it that I didn't love, but maybe that's a Chicago thing? Honestly did not love it. Felt insubstantial and yet also somehow a bit greasy at the same time. Cheese, sauce and sausage was fine and nothing to write home about. But what really stood out was this: the pizza came sliced in a completely unhinged criss-cross pattern (!?) So instead of normal slices of pizza, you have to eat these weird little squares. I'm sorry, I didn't realize I was ordering pizza for a toddler's birthday party. Slicing a round pizza is just a solved problem at this point. Four quick cuts across the middle and you get 8 of the standard issue wedge-shaped slices we all know and love. I got a personal Deep Dish Malnati Chicago Classic. I don't have much to compare it to in terms of "Chicago Pizza" but I enjoyed what I had. If you like sausage you will like this - you get a lot! This is another mighty fine Lou Malnati's carryout location. This was my first visit here and it was for several pizzas for a birthday party. They were the usual tip-top delicious and the carryout was available right on time. Lou Malnati's is our all time favorite pizza, both deep dish and thin crust. Quality ingredients on top of a butter crust. Yum! The Malnati Salad is great, too (hold the gorgonzola cheese, please!) We recently tried the Garlic Bread because we had some loyalty points to redeem. It was excellent smothered with the marinara sauce that it came with. I will definitely add that to my future orders! The frozen pizzas are perfect for a less expensive, low fuss but still delicious meal. Lots of selection in the grab and go freezer and refrigerator cases (pizzas, desserts, salads). This location has no dine in, but the cashiers are always friendly and the food is usually ready on time. Standing room only waiting room or wait in your vehicle. read more

Been a customer ever since they opened in Lincolnwood in the 60's. The past 20 years been ordering for pickup in Wilmette, they are less than 10 minutes from me. Tonight I called and ordered a pizza , when I went to pick it up they had no record of my phone order. Last year I ordered for delivery as I wasn't feeling well 45 minutes later I get a call from the delivery person asking where I'm at 15 minutes later another call. I called the store and they told me they used an outside delivery service but the made and delivered a replacement at no charge, I'm a cash customer and wasn't looking for a freebie. While I am disappointed I can not say anything negative about the pizza. read more

The argument over what is the best Chicago deep dish pizza will last long after Keith Richards and the cockroaches have all died off. This is our favorite. Well, the thin crust, and the enduringly incomprehensible practice of cutting it in squares rather than pie slices is relatively consistent across all pizzerias, the deep dish here is unique, in large part because of the cornmeal crust, which is distinctive among the local pies. A word to the newbies: that the deep dish sausage is patty style, which is also peculiar...and I mean that in a good way...to Chicago style pizzas. We are also fans of their salads, which come with some terrific dressing. Note, though, that the Wilmette location, and many others, does not offer dine in but it is pick up and delivery only. read more

cold pizza, watery crust, no idea how. it was ordered at 1pm for 515pm pickup but was late...and still somehow cold. how do you bake a pie and hand it off 15 minutes late, and cold? would not recommend. there were a lot of customers waiting in lobby with similar frustration. read more

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! I placed this order back On December 28, 2024. I wanted to use a gift card that I had, but the cashier said that there was an issue with the register, but that they would fix it once I came to the restaurant with the gift card. Shen I received the online confirmation for I order, I noticed my order was taken incorrectly. I wanted sausage patty, not sausage pieces. I called the restaurant back to let them know of the error, and they said that it would be corrected. I then asked them what it affect the lead time for the error, and they assured me that it would not be affected. When I arrived to the Wilmette location, only about two customers in the store. Apparently, there was a cashier being trained at the time because there was another girl shadowing her and telling her how to do things. When I was talking to the cashiers I informed them who I was and about the issue I was having with the gift card. They remembered my order and issue. The trainee tried to process the card, and it didn't work the first time. At this point the girl that was training the new cashier disappeared behind the scenes and never returned. The trainee tried to process again, to no avail. At this time, she abruptly asked me for another form of payment. I told her that somebody assured me that they would fix the gift card issue, but she just said that she doesn't know what's going on. She didn't ask for any help or ask for a manager. At this point, I was irritated and I just gave her my debit card. To add insult to injury, I received my pizza about 15 minutes AFTER the previous "ready" time, and the CENTER OF THE PIZZA WAS COLD! I have pictures of me with my finger in the center indicating the temperature of the pizza. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE ALL AROUND. And now, with no follow up from the staff for over a week, I am not giving you my business and spreading the word on this matter. I sent them a feedback form and no one has yet to respond. read more

I have been a customer of Lou Malnati's in Wilmette, IL since 1987. Unless I have guests I always order a large thin crust cheese pizza with extra sauce. When I placed my last order in January 2024 and requested extra sauce I would have had to pay over $3.00, so I did not order extra sauce. This is the first time for a charge for extra sauce. The pizza without extra sauce was DRY. I will never order from Lou Malnati's ever again. It is very bad business practice to lose a customer of almost 40 years over a ladleful of sauce. read more

We needed dinner for 12 on short notice. Staff took our pizza order before our seats were ready. We had a drink in the bar before being seated in dining room. Waiter was happy and helpful, he even took a group picture for us. Some of our group wanted lower carbs so we ordered a crust less pizza. It was very good. Malnati salad was delicious. Calamari appetizer had a nice breading and was a hit. Pizza is good and the staff was great. Everyone in our group enjoyed our dinner at Lou's. read more

The pizza is consistently delicious and always cooked to perfection. The employees are respectful and accommodating. I always get a large deep-dish cheese pizza; I prefer the thin crust pizza sauce because I don't like the giant tomatoes on my pizza. They always change it for me when I call in and request it. I had an issue with pizza getting stuck to the bottom of the box after sitting for a few hours, the bottom of the pizza had thin paper-like strips of cardboard stuck to it. The manager called me and offered a refund even though I didn't request it and only called to offer feedback. That is exceptional customer service. Easy 5/5 for this location. read more
