I asked the store manager if I could get the finish I wanted for the same price. It couldn't be done I was told. I contacted Jeff Long by e-mail and didn't even get a reply. This as of today 2019 04 12.,e-mail sent 9 days before this date. I too am sorry that the Leone's location is no more. I'm thinking it might even be too much to think that they L&M would throw in a pr. of drum sticks in with the 1,000's payed on the drums and hardware. Note ... FAMILY meaning L&M name. DLP is a quick and reliable music and repair shop. I called several other violin shops that were by…read moreappointment only and told me that it would take 3-4 days to re-string and polish my violin. I needed my violin ready by the weekend so 4 days was too long of a wait. DLP is open late until 8:00 - 8:30 PM on weekdays. Just call the shop and tell the owner what you need to be done and he is accommodating. I was able to get my violin back the next day. The prices are reasonable. I would return here for violin supplies like strings, rosin, and polish.

Complained that I should get my deposit back and take amp home, they committed to take amp back to "bench". Returned 1 week later to find amp still on bench - i believe untouched. I seriously doubt they have any competence for electronic instrument repair. I took my unrepaired amp back and took the $65 deposit loss (since technically they put my amp on the bench). Beware.

To do a full rebuild on my tenor he wanted $1k, with $500 up front for supplies (pads, resos,…read moreetc.). After he strung me along for ten months I finally picked the horn up in pieces, the only thing he'd done was straighten the body tube and yank out all of the pads from the keys. He refused to refund any of the deposit, even though he hadn't even ordered any of the pads - claimed to have done half the work. He had previously quoted $140 to straighten the tube, which would require him to refit all of the keys and give it back assembled and in working order. My new tech (who didn't ask for an up front deposit) needed to do a bunch of key fitting before he could put it back together, the thing was a mess. Half the work done, my ass. Eventually he offered to give me $200 back but it's been weeks and he's just making excuses. Yeah, I know that I should have pulled the plug months sooner before he'd done anything at all to it, but I'd always liked the guy and didn't think that he'd backstab someone who'd always been a good customer and had recommended him so glowingly to everyone who asked. I wonder who else he's ripped off; I doubt I'm the only one, and the place looks like he's having serious cash flow issues. Stay away.

A shyster. Changes rules and timing. Never gives a quote. Shows up on different days and changes…read morewhat is going to happen. Changes day of move. Says that one of the days bringing small truck to tear down furniture, pick up stuff for storage and load clothes in wardrobes. Instead brings a large truck, says moving all furniture and boxes, and says I am not ready. Said this is not the day of my move and tried to explain. Told me I was treating him like a dog and he was leaving. I lost it and he stayed and moved stuff. Long story short - took three days and cost me over $4k. Other quotes were significantly less. Because he changed the process and days I had to hire someone else (along with a truck from UHaul) and cost me another $4k that wasn't necessary. I was working to the process discussed and therefore couldn't have all completed. His staff was good but he was a difficult person to deal with and quite frankly old fashioned and did not talk to me as an equal as a woman and overcharged me. The worst person and company I have ever dealt with. Stay away from this company! I am disgusted at my interaction. Added additional stress because didn't listen to me.
