3/1/25. For apps we had the scallion pancake (a bit oily), chicken lettuce wraps (very good), honey ribs (meaty and tender) scallop sushi (fresh), egg drop/wonton soup and fried calamari. Onto our mains: scallops with beef entree but we added lobster tail, mixed drunken noodles, general tso shrimp and fried rice. Everything tasted good including my cocktails. Def no sketchy pieces of meat or fish! It should be noted that the bbq ribs and tso shrimp were very saucy and very sweet. So glad i stopped by. Best (sweet) ginger dressing came with the avocado salad. Very fresh raw fish--i enjoyed salmon and tuna nigiri. This was my first visit to JR Fusion. The menu is great and there's something for everyone. There is a full bar. The restaurant is clean and cozy. While there are many Chinese and Japanese selections on the menu i can tell you that the sushi is fresh and outstanding. Not a sushi fan? Other guests in our party loved soft shell crab tempura, Singapore Mei Fun, General Tao's jumbo shrimp and chicken teriyaki. The servers, including the bartender, are genuinely friendly and will adjust any dishes to your personal preference and taste. The restaurant was fairly crowded and now I understand the reason. When I got sick to my stomach ( nausea, pain) after eating take out ( pad Thai and cooked sushi) until the next day, and had no exposure to anything else, I looked up this restaurant s track record. They have had at least one violation not wearing gloves preparing sushi and dishes. That explains it. Shredded beef is to die for, sushi never had a complaint or issue and ive been getting sushi here since Japan Sushi (iykyk) sake bombs all day! We've been sleeping on the place for years! What a great recent find. Casual atmosphere, great value for money and a diverse enough menu to accommodate everyone. My family enjoyed our dinner at JR Asian Fusion on Saturday night. We have ordered in from this restaurant before but this was the first time we ate there. We made a reservation and were seated right away. I recommend making a reservation as the restaurant was packed. Ordered: Sesame chicken ($13)- the sesame chicken was crunchy, had a sweet sauce and was served with broccoli. It was one of the best I have had in the area. Shrimp with broccoli from the steamed/diet menu ($13)- when the plate arrived I could not get over how much broccoli they served- it must have been a whole head! There was a good amount of shrimp too. The shrimp were big. The sauce on the side was flavorful. Chicken and broccoli ($11)- another classic done well. JR Asian Fusion served thin pieces of white meat chicken sautéed with broccoli. Japan salmon teriyaki box ($18)- this came with salad, California roll, assorted tempura (shrimp, eggplant, broccoli and sweet potato) and a piece of salmon with assorted vegetables covered in teriyaki sauce. This dinner was a lot of food and was quite good. My only criticism was that the carrot ginger dressing was too thin and sweet. We decided to do take out, and we ordered quite a few dishes. Some sushi and some Chinese dishes. We had six different rolls, seaweed salad, egg drop soup, hot & sour soup, shrimp lomein, baby bok choy, pepper steak, general Tso's chicken, vegetable fried rice and a couple of other dishes that I can't remember what they were. Everything was very good. I only wish I had taken a few pictures to show how well it was packed for delivery. Everything was sent in nice containers except for the rice that came in traditional Chinese Food boxes. I'm hoping that when I'm here in October I will get to eat in the restaurant. Ordered Red Pepper Seafood (not sure that was the name) & Maki Boy (that is DEFINITELY the name) and both were soooo good. Scallops & shrimp in the seafood dish were large, & especially full of flavor, in the spicy sauce they were in (pieces of lobster were also large but not as good). The eggplant in this dish was also perfectly cooked. The Maki Boy (Alaska roll, California roll, tuna roll) was SO fresh tasting, & more than filling with good-sized pieces of tuna, soft avocado & salmon. It came with a refreshing side salad. Popped in here tonight for a light dinner. Ambience nice place, clean could use a little updating here and there the food came out quickly. Enjoy the hot and sour soup and the chicken dumplings were very good nice and hot. We also had a fry rice which was average. My husband had a beer and I had a mai tai .The staff was very friendly and polite and accommodating as we did not want to sit in the high top tables. Overall, it was a good experience. The dish came out with way too much mayonnaise and we didn't like it. We asked our server if we could send it back - the owner came over, grabbed me by the shoulder and started screaming and cursing profanities at me. He caused such a scene that I feared for my safety and had to call the police. As a business owner, there is never an excuse to put your hands on a client (or anyone,) and that is not how you speak to customers. Just wow. My friends that live in Long Beach have been recommending me to come here for years. I swear the rock shrimp was one of the best shrimps I've ever had in my life. I'm obsessed. It's sweet, spicy, and cooked to perfection. I would be ok with ordering 3 of them and eating it as my entree. Lol. Pineapple fried rice was delicious. So I ordered from here to give it a try I got a sushi roll and a hand roll as well as a Chinese dish because the requirement for delivery said $15 on the website but when I went to type it in it said it had to be at least $25 dollars for delivery so firstly which one is it. Second the sushi was the worst sushi I ever had no flavor at all. Based on the price which is $7 per roll for the ones I got I was expecting more. The spicy salmon was not spicy like at all.
