I have been a tenant for a short time, but I already know that I will be extending my lease when that time comes. I am pretty critical of apartments, so I was shocked by how much I loved this place. In terms of the managers (Robert & Rubi), they are competent, friendly, and very accommodating - overall, just stellar! The property is always clean; the appliances in the kitchen are all new when we moved in, the cabinets in both the kitchen and bathroom seem brand new, and the bathroom and kitchen counters are very pretty and clean. The design of the apartment is geared towards what is practical (ex: the bathroom fan runs at all times to reduce moisture) and all the features that I have seen have been selected to maximize energy efficiency. Lived at the 2075 Torrance Blvd. Apts. for this last year. Norma, our manager, was wonderful. We had our first baby here and really appreciate how welcoming she was toward the three of us. She remembered his name and my due date, brought us a gift, and during our initial move out inspection, she played with him and took time to chat with us. She was always prompt in responding to needs and questions we had, no matter the time of day (or night). We would stay longer if we could! Building was from the mid 1900s and we loved the many original features (door handles, doors, trim). A little better ventilation for bathroom and new carpet and range would be an improvement. Never had clogged plumbing or big issues like that. Neighbors also were kind and friendly, some have been 10+ years. read more

My building is from the mid 1900s and I have been living in it almost my entire life. I know the maintenance workers are divided throughout the many properties which makes things inefficient. It is standard practice here to simply put a coat of paint over **WILD MOLD SPREADS**. This is happening all throughout the complex as we have moisture issues within shared walls. Cracks in the paint and wall? They put another slab of paint on without addressing any other issues! Someone is going to get sick and I'm sure management will just keep telling us to "keep our windows open". Don't even get me started on the washers/dryers that break every other month and take days to fix. Our shared driveway is full of loose gravel and potholes as well. The company is being handed down to next of kin so I can't imagine things will get any better. JRC is a joke! read more

I've mostly worked with Lucky who has always been very kind and very attentive when I've contacted him. I honestly can't think of a time when I texted him or called with a concern and he did not respond immediately or within a minute of the text, or did not pick up immediately when I called or called back in less than a minute, if he missed the call. I also appreciate any work orders I've submitted to them have been handled quickly. I've lived in my apartment for almost a year now and it's been amazing! The community is fantastic: the neighbors are friendly, warm, kind and welcoming. Everyone is looking out for one another and that's really really special. The property itself is very clean and well maintained. My unit is very nice, I moved in it was freshly painted, updated and even though the carpet was only a year old, the previous tenant left a big stain and JRC replaced the whole thing. Pim, our building manager is amazing. She is on top of things and keeps the place running. Any issues, she makes sure it gets fixed. If anything is happening at the building or around it, we always have communication via text or a letter. She is an important factor or what makes our building such a lovely place to live. JRC has its own maintenance team, so we see the same people working in and around the building, and I think that's important too when it comes to community, trust, and promptness of service. I called JRC about theft in parking garages and they have different dialogue when either having conversation with a not happy tenant, so their result is to berate and belittle, as to being a Landlord and getting all the help You could possibly ask for. I called as an acting landlord, to see if I could get answers for someone and you should hear some of the malicious comments made about tenants. read more

We rented a 1 bed, 1 bath apartment in Torrance that had been tastefully remodeled right before we moved in. Norma was great over the 3 years we stayed there and we could not have asked for better service. She was quick to respond to our texts, let us know with plenty of time when someone was coming to do maintenance and was very professional. We had a plumbing issue and the next morning there was a plumber at our doorstep to fix the problem. Any time of day or night when I reach out no more than 5 minutes after I receive a response! She is amazing and makes sure that all tenants abide by the rules!! I do not rent from JRC and based on my experience I never will. As I read through these reviews, I am not alone. I was looking for an apartment an stumbled across one on Yukon. The website says it is managed by Jenifer. I called Jenifer and she referred me to her husband Mike. I called Mike about noon and I instantly got bad vibes from his tone. I asked about the deposit he told me the deposit amount and told me it would increase based on my credit. I agreed and asked to come and view the apartment. And his tone gets even more aggressive and states that there are "rules and "parameters" if I want to live there. I must have really good credit (with his explanation in a condescending way) and how he does not allow barbecues on site. Once he finished his lecture on "parameters" he asked if I still wanted to come see the apartment. I already felt he didn't want me to come see it and pretty much I would be wasting his time if I didn't like/agree with his "rules" and "parameters" or have good credit. Needless to say I did not view the apartment. I would hate to have to deal with such a condescending jerk. I emailed the company to let them know Mike was rude and intimidating and they potentially lost a good tenant. I am pretty sure whomever answered was either Mike or someone who probably laughed along with Mike as they read my email. Reading these reviews it was a blessing in disguise!! read more

We have lived in our apartment managed by JRC for the past 7 years. It has been a great experience for us moving in as first time renters. The property is well maintained on a weekly basis by great staff members who manage landscaping, upkeep and keeping two clean pools. Any requests that we've had have been actioned in a very timely manner and to satisfactory levels. What's makes our property really stand out is Lisa who is our building manager. Lisa is always available whenever we need her. She keeps us updated with all the necessary information we need to ensure our experience living here is top notch. I have been a tenant of JRC property management in old town Torrance for 10 years now and I can honestly say I have had a positive experience , if my many years living there doesn't already speak for itself! The property is cute, clean, quaint and the gardening walk way area is always up-kept and well maintained. I've been through many slum lords prior to settling here and I know a good managed place when i see it! The other tenants are also pleasant (and I've seen my fair share who've cycled in and out through out the years), which I believe is representative of the high standards the management holds for its application process. Norma is the manager there. She's very honest, professional, communicates well and does an excellent job overseeing the property. I'm most impressed by her maintenance request turnaround. As soon as I submit a maintenance request via fax or email, I get a follow up call from Norma almost immediately to confirm the issue and letting me know the work order status. That's great customer service! The maintenance crew is also efficient! I know should I move to another place, I'll refer first to any other listings by JRC Property management before anything else. That's how satisfied I am with this team to want to continue on with this tenant- management relationship. read more
