    Cheesy fries and burger
    Olivia M.

I am very disappointed the burger they say is just 2tiny sliders. 2of the sliders for 10 (I got the pretzel bun!) was expecting burgers they should name them sliders instead of burgers!! I spent a lot of money hoping that it was atleast be filling. I also got cheesy fries which were good! But if you're ordering the "BURGERS" (sliders )are very small.

Please do not be fooled: mighty things can come in small packages. Jr's was spot on for fulfilling those late night food cravings that literally brought me back to my senses. However, after the fun times subsided, the food was still solid, tasty and filling. I didn't check out any reviews and just went off of a recommendation, prior to ordering. I have to admit I went against everything that reviewers recommended. I ordered delivery on a Saturday night, yet the food was timely in arriving at a hot temperature. (Shout out to the hot, tall, dark and handsome delivery Man-- someone get him a yelp account please) I ordered the starter package deal which is probably best for two or three people and explains why I could not finish anything in one sitting. After calculating the cost, tax and tip I ended up paying wayyyyy less than what I was expecting (City living has me in this mode). Be aware that although servings do not look large, they are very filling. The quantity and quality of the food was staggering. The crispy chicken jr (1 order comes with two sándwiches) put a lot of places to shame (insert any chicken sándwich making fast food chain here). The salad was beyond fresh with thin cuts of grilled chicken, fresh croutons, parmesan cheese, romaine lettuce and a caesar dressing that tasted freshly made. Tater tots were delectable with firm, crispy outsides and mushy potato insides. What a way to make me rethink my expectations!

Clockwise from top: Onion petals and curly fries, Maui Jr, Crispy Ranch Jr, nachos.

I have been going to Jr.'s since I was a student at Monmouth university, and it has always been a staple for topping off a night out in the West End! The staff is friendly, the food never disappoints, and the restaurant is clean and has a fun atmosphere. That being said, I took my very skeptical fiancé (who did not go to Monmouth and likes to joke that I overhype any restaurant in that area because it's mostly the nostalgia for me), and I am happy to say that he was extremely impressed! Here is what to order: -always go for the fire sauce! You can order extra on the side for .75 extra and it's completely worth it! Get twice what you think you will need! They have many other sauces too, so I highly recommend trying any of them as well. -Pretzel buns are the way to go--they never disappoint and hold the burgers together very well. -Do not overlook the nachos! The nachos at Jr.'s have always been my favorite menu item (one order alone could be a one-person meal in itself) and they are truly the best nachos I have had from any takeout place EVER. -Curly fries are the best side on the menu--enough said! Tip: they hold up very well in an air fryer if you need to reheat them as leftovers!

Def holds down one of the best burger joints in the area! It's pretty perfect in its own delicious way that the burgers come as a set of two sliders but packed with flavor. Also helps that the place is open late so you can actually get some pretty decent food after hours. But mainly I gotta say I do love any place that sells tater tots, maybe it's a little childish but tater tots are the best, especially if done right. Highly recommend coming here, I was out in point pleasant one night and drove half hr to get these juicy flavor packed burgers, what a happy end to the night that was.

Visited JR'S for a second time on Feb. 15th, 2009 Good charbroiled burgers ! Good extra fresh brioche style rolls! I had the "Original JR" which is two 1/4 pound burgers. (see my burger PICS) It's normally $6.00, but I got the lunch special for $9.00 which is the Original JR, plus fries, and a fountain soda. They are open from 11:30 am till 4:30 am, as they try and appeal to Monmouth College students (the college is a few miles or so away) You can go to www.campusfood.com to see JR'S menu. JR'S is located in the West End section of Long Branch. (exit 105 off the Garden State Parkway) And as a bonus, they are only about 1/3 mile to the BEACH! I noticed that JR'S does NOT get the internet coverage I think it so rightfully deserves. So I am proud to be the first one to review it here on YELP .....

This was so good. Also got the curly fries. Covid rules were followed. All employees wore gloves and masks at all time. Staff was courteous and friendly.

Very good food. I am a big fan of the spicy chicken with extra fire sauce and Barqs Red Creme Soda.

We really wanted to love this place, but unfortunately it was a complete letdown…read more The space itself is beautiful, and the service was good. Drinks were presented nicely, but flavor-wise they were just... fine. We started with the short rib flatbread, which was extremely dry. There were five of us and we left nearly half of it. The charred octopus was also disappointing--lacking flavor and a bit chewy. Mains were where things really fell apart. I ordered the spicy rigatoni, and it honestly tasted like jarred sauce--multiple people at the table tried it and agreed. It reminded me of the sauce inside a pizza roll: cheap and overly processed. I ate only a few bites before giving up. I woke up in the middle of the night with severe heartburn, nausea and stomach pains. Two friends shared a steak ordered medium; it came out well done. Sides were risotto and Brussels sprouts. The Brussels were good, but the risotto was very thick and gluey rather than creamy. The remaining two entrees were gnocchi and chicken Milanese. The gnocchi was bland and barely touched. One friend did say she enjoyed the chicken Milanese, which was the lone bright spot of the night. We don't mind spending money on food--but it needs to be good food. Unfortunately, nothing justified the price point. I wouldn't go back. It's a shame, because the restaurant has a lot of visual appeal and real potential, but the execution just isn't there.

If you're a seafood lover, I recommend starting off with the charred octopus or the shrimp fritters. The octopus was tender, smoky and perfectly charred. The shrimp fritters were golden and crispy filled with delicious, juicy shrimp. You also have to try the spicy tuna hand roll. Fresh, silky tuna with a kick of spice, perfectly wrapped in crisp seaweed--this hand roll is a must for sushi lovers. The dry aged cowboy ribeye steak was unbelievable. With every mouthwatering bite I found myself just wanting more. It was honestly one of the best steaks I've ever had. The golden, buttery scallops melted in my mouth with every bite, paired with ultra-creamy goat cheese polenta for the ultimate indulgence. An irresistible dance of flavors made for sharing. We topped off the night with this decadent, warm brownie crowned with silky ice cream--an intimate finish that's both rich and irresistibly smooth. I cannot confirm nor deny that we finished the whole skillet. Service was very attentive and friendly and the atmosphere is upscale and sleek. This is a great place for an intimate date night, classy girls night out, or sophisticated celebration.

They had a duo playing live music (one with a guitar and one with a cajon). They were very good. So, the noise level was high, but you could still strike a conversation. We ordered some calamari, some burgers and a Mac and cheese for my daughter. They were delicious. Can't complain. Great bar food. The Patty Burger, though, could've used a little more seasoning. It's a place worth hanging out if you want good food at relatively good prices, while having a good time listening to live music. Great alternative to Mcloone's or Ava. Do check them out.

(The honeymoon is over, I fear.) The menu is eclectic - pizza to sandwiches to seafood to an impressive list of beers, cocktails and mocktails. The pricing is a bit too high but what else would you expect in the heart of the boardwalk, right at the main 'corner' where countless people are constantly walking past? The servers on both visits were superb. The restaurant definitely has a cool look all around... outdoor seating, a large bar inside, plenty of tables and a cool 'snug corner' that has a lounge/library vibe to it. (Weirdly enough on both visits they gave us the exact same high-top even though there was plenty of seating in all the other corners of the joint.) For every hit (the BLT sandwich) there was a "it was okay, I don't think I'd get that again" (fish tacos) and for almost $20 to hear, "the crust reminded me of Ellio's frozen pizza" was deflating. (Next summer? We might see what else Long Branch has to offer...)

One of the problems with breakfast, for me, is a lot of places drench everything with butter and salt... which most people seem to like. Not me, I like healthy, natural flavors. I have a couple times ordered their Jersey Girl omelette (tomatoes, asparagus, mozzarella, green onions), and it is made to perfection. Tasty, healthy, and not greasy. Just wonderful. The only thing that prevents me from rating 5 stars is that I was a little surprised that the eggs, which came with toast and potatoes (I had a banana instead), did not come with coffee, for which they charged $3.50 (hey, even Starbucks with their outrageous pricing charges only $2.45 for a cup of plain old coffee). But I would definitely recommend Beach Grille for an eggsellent breakfast!
