Will not be returning to this location. We picked up suits and shoes for three men for a wedding, and when we got home to try everything on, only one suit fit correctly. One of the suits was also missing the shoes that were supposed to be included. We went back to the store to exchange the incorrect sizes, and the associate told us to "just wear a belt," even though the suit pants were three to four sizes too large. Additionally, one of the suits we were told was brand new had trash in the pocket. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience, and we would not return. read more

This is my go to alterations place now! You will love J, because you can trust him with your important wardrobe pieces. I typically DON'T get My clothes altered, but for special occasions I do! You want to look and feel your best! And nothing is worse than ill fitting clothes that make you feel just not right or uncomfortable. J altered my wedding dress to perfection. . . There was a lot of detailed lace at the bottom and through out the entire dress and vintage pearls for buttons and a whole bunch of other factors. But he has an eye for details and can transform the dress to fit you Perfectly without compromising any details that made you fall in love with your wedding dress! A bonus he is FAIR. Lastly, he doesn't uncharge you, as far as fees and prices go, he is low compared to other alterations places. read more

They took our measurements, and asked us when we needed it done by. The hems, and alterations were good, and I received compliments from the host of the event. I got really sick, and had to wait a week to pick up my clothes. I called and let them know, and they returned my call, and assured me that was fine. I'd definitely shop here again. Argument: customer service is terrible. Read every line in the agreement that you're signing. The owner is sexist and demeaning to customers (and exerts ageism). He demeaned me and gaslighted me as a customer. The cashier later came by to mock the situation. Context: I had to cancel my dad's rental tuxedo due to the cancellation of my wedding. I put in the order in early April for a late June wedding. I went to cancel the order. I had been just about two weeks. Evidence: he said he couldn't fully refund the job because it was already finished. I argued that there is nothing in the agreement that said anything about me being responsible for their labor-particularly when the labor gets completed way in advance of the pick-up date. Their labor would not be my problem, even if they had finished their work ahead of time. Conclusion: if you're looking to get professional customer care, this place is not for you. He will treat you like shit. The agreements are vague, so that you might get the short end of everything. If you don't care how you're treated and just looking to get a mediocre suit or a rental, this is a place for you. To the owner, if you're reading this, revise your agreement forms, and include disclaimers to save your ass. The way your business is unprofessional. read more

Don't even bother coming here really. Owner and people are friendly and smile at your face but behind they talk crap about anything. We wanted tuxedos for 10 guys and they fail to mention quality was going to be so cheap looking AND worst of all they expected the groom and groomsman to not get the tuxedos fitted. WHAT IS THE POINT ON RENTING A TUXEDO AND PAYING $300+ for it if it's not going to fit just right?! Incredibly frustrated and insulted knowing these people would take our money and measure all the guys to deliver suits that were 3 size too big! It would've ruined photos for sure! I CANNOT EXPLAIN HOW DISAPPOINTED AND ANNOYED I AM ABOUT THIS. If you must go to them because there isn't anything else around then make sure you don't leave your money with them until suits are fitted! read more

I had tried a couple locations before going to J, and I wish I went to him first! The other tailors that I went to were going to take way too long and would've charged $50 more than J. J got the job done in a timely manner and maintained the quality. The suits that I had altered by him came out perfect. My family and I went to the Auburn outlet today in search for my fathers outfit for a funeral viewing. My brother walked inside to try and find a solid blue buttoned up shift for my dad and out of nowhere this guy comes over and says, "no size here for you!" Without even knowing what we were looking for he said that offensive comment to him. That guy needs professional manners training. If I could I would give 0 stars! Whatever you do try not to go to this shop. I suggest any other store than this. They were very unprofessional and judgmental. read more

J is awesome. The man is a professional and knows what works and what doesn't for formalwear. My son tells me the day of the prom he has decided to attend. He also tells me he wants a purple satin suit for the event. I went to j's and there it was, a purple satin suit. There was a large selection of traditional and more daring formalwear. He hooked us up with everything we needed, suit, shirt, tie, shoes, etc. The pants had to be hemmed and they were done in twenty minutes. My son hates to shop and I was thinking this would be a really stressful event but it was the easiest shopping experience I have ever had. Thank you J for saving the day! read more

Wonderful clothing and service BUT DO NOT APPLY FOR A JOB HERE. Got hired a week ago. Had my first day. Was given a schedule to come back and work that week Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. During my shift the owner J decided to cut my hours down to Thursday, Friday, Saturday. Oh well. Then as I continue my shift he cuts my hours for that week completely. Uh ok. He told me he is too busy to train. J the owner told me he would call me Monday to let me know my schedule. Uhmm wtf? Ok I just want a job. Monday rolls around and no call. So I call him. He tells me that the store is slow so he will call me NEXT Sunday to give me my schedule. I tried to explain to him how I'm frustrated because I need to pay my bills. So he proceeds to tell me get a job somewhere else. I've never had an employer say that to me so I told him I was confused and ask 4 times if he was letting me go or firing me. He did not say yes or no. He then answered that the store is slow. I then asked him why he listed the job on Indeed and he told me he didn't. Upon my first day I worked with another employee. I will not name names but they didn't have good things to say about the owner either. They said that he is super rude to customers and pretty much has them on call even though the job listing does not in fact say ON CALL. All in all, I love the clothing, J is very talented in alterations, BUT I would not recommend anyone work here for these reasons read more

Please avoid this place at all costs unless you want to stink to high heaven on your special day. This was the experience of my cousin's entire wedding party after paying over $200 for rental tuxedos. The armpit stench was unbearable on my jacket and when I confronted the owner about it, he became defensive and started yelling at me. He then offered to try to get the stench off just hours before the wedding. His attempts were unsuccessful and I had no other option but to try to mask the awful smell with cologne. I was self conscious during the entire ceremony and still cannot believe I paid $240 for a stinky tuxedo that didn't even include socks! Please avoid this place and go to the Men's wearhouse or TuxShop instead. read more

Picked out a dress my size and went to ask if I could try it on. The tailor looked at me and flat out said, "that won't fit you". He proceeded to glare at me as I left. Extremely disrespectful to their customers. Won't be returning here again. Don't need young women going in there and walking out feeling bad about themselves. I've also had a dress hemmed here about four years ago and it was three inches longer in the front then in the back. Obviously they don't want any business. read more

I went here to get my prom dress altered. They did a really good job on it and all, but I hated how the lady kept trying to pressure me to alter this part and that part of the dress when it didn't need to be. I told the lady more than once how I didn't want a certain part of the dress altered, but she did it anyways. BIG NO NO!! and when I told her to fix it, she started talking to her cowoker in their language. MAJOR NO NO, hello! I'm asian, they act as if I don't know they're smack talkin. Went in for a suit for my fiance, ended up buying on the spot for a total of $200 - including alterations. We were looking for a navy suit, and J's has black, white, different shades of grey, browns, blues, and a few fun colors, too! Comparatively great prices for a good-looking suit (vs. suit shops and department stores), shopkeeper is friendly and seems to know what she's talking about as far as alterations and fit go. Only 4 stars because their selection of ties is limited to bright prom colors (hot pink, baby blue, bright red, et al). read more

One of the trained professional tailors in Auburn. I wouldn't have them do a bespoke suit, but when it comes to all of the standard alterations, they are superb. Timely, quality work which is just a little bit more than your dry cleaner. read more

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS SHOP! I am getting married out of state and sent some family members to this shop to get measured for their suits. I received a report that the person that measured them wrote it down on a sheet of paper (not the standard Jim's Formal form) and refused to fax it to our bridal shop when asked. When I called up there to speak the manager Joe he was just as rude and even hung up on me!! When I called to find out who the own was to report this extremely poor customer service to the owner, I found the manager is actually the owner's son. Wow!! I wonder if his parents know what a horrible job he and his staff are doing at managing their business. They have made it very clear that customer service IS NOT on their list of priorities and I would only send my enemies here. read more

So a happenstance visit to J's looking for a wedding dress for my daughter. Well boy did we win out on this visit! We not only found the perfect dress but it was an amazing bargain! During the fitting I happened to notice some suits and tuxedos on sale, another bargain and another excellent piece of wedding attire. Also during the fitting Jae mentioned that he is a master tailor, so I told him that I'm going to put him to the test. I returned with a costume/uniform that hung on me as I'd lost a lot of weight. The lines on it were not straight and I made some pretty exacting standards on how I wanted it done. I returned expecting disappointment but was shocked at the level of perfection that he achieved! It looks better than when I first bought it! He also gave me a screaming deal on it, costing me far less than he could have. Jae and his shop are forever on my list for formalwear and I have a new tailor to boot for other costumes needing downsizing! I cannot recommend his shop strongly enough! read more
