Robert Morales willingly worked with me in my wheelchair. He was sensitive to my sensitive scalp needs. And he gave me an excellent haircut. The shop itself was filled with goodies. It was well-lit and smelled great. People who worked there were friendly, and I was offered water a few times. The price for my thick, curly was surprisingly reasonable. Robert cut this very grown-out mess dry so that he could see how my hair behaved. He shampooed after. All in all, I am returning and referring friends to him. The most pampered I ever felt at a salon. Best of all, I love my haircut!! I wanted an ash bayalage and while I had dyed my hair many times before and my last dye job had been an ombre, I was nervous about getting it done as I have what I like to call "stubborn black asian hair" that can be difficult to dye. I had a hair lady in Seattle that had taken me 10 years to find, but having moved to Tucson two years ago, I still had not found a hair lady that knew how to do hair right. Jacquilin was quick to respond to my inquiry for an appointment, messaging me on a day when the salon was closed. She was able to fit me in the next day. I've a lot of hair ladies who when doing hair, don't really talk to you so you're left to look at your phone or read a magazine. Some people prefer that, but she and I talked for almost the entire time that was doing my hair. When she was halfway done blow drying my hair, I was little unsure about my hair at first, but Jacquilin offered to adjust the tone my hair if I wasn't happy, but as she continued and finished blowdrying, it all came together and I looked at it in different lights the finished product looks amazing. I am super happy with it :) Will definitely be back again as I think I have found my new hair gal. read more

I always go to Krystal to get my hair done, though I would completely trust any other stylist here! My favorite thing about Krystal (and the entire salon) is that she has a knowledge of curly hair. Jackie treated me like family and I am from Florida. I called her salon late on Saturday because i was in town due to a death in the family and the mass was Monday. I knew I had neglected my hair and the color was faded and grey roots were showing. The woman on the phone asked me to hold on so she could check. She said they were fully booked and closed on Sunday but Jackie the owner would open up just for me. She was there right on time and was so friendly she took my mind off of a very sad situation for an hour and did a single process color that was exactly what i wanted and my hair had incredible shine and texture. I went in for a cut this weekend with Danielle and absolutely love it. Danielle is super attentive and a perfectionist, exactly what you want in a stylist. She cut my medium length thick, wavy hair into a short angled bob. I've had the cut before, so I knew what I was looking for. Danielle asked me how I liked the progress of the cut as she did it. I set up an appointment here with Jackie because I have naturally curly hair and love supporting small local businesses. PROS: - Best hair wash of my life! Thanks to Mamey (unsure on spelling). I felt like I was in heaven. - Everyone was pretty friendly. - Paul Mitchell products smell great. CONS: - Location: this salon shares a parking lot with a Circle K, which doesn't speak to being elegant. The building itself does not have curb appeal. - Cleanliness: Sitting in the chair getting my haircut and the armrests were simultaneously sticky and dusty. The chairs and supply trays were all visibly dirty. While I was getting my hair washed, I noticed the ceiling fan had an ombre look. From not being dusted, ever. I didn't use the restroom. - Attention to detail: When I was describing what I wanted in my cut, I took out my phone to show a few pictures. I very clearly described what I liked as I swiped through 6 pictures. I didn't make it through the photos before the stylists said, "a few inches off, got it." - Cut: The cut was the fastest and most haphazard haircut of my life. I have long, thick hair and she didn't section off to make sure she cut evenly. It was like Edward Scissorhands. She also never checked both sides of my hair to see if it fell evenly. At the time I trusted her process and hoped for the best. - Aftermath: Unfortunately, my hair is frizzier and less defined than before. I asked for my hair to be shaped so it wouldn't fall in a triangle shape and now it does. The two sides of my head are also different lengths now. The way my hair was cut actually GAVE me split ends which is a problem I haven't had before. Summary: I spend $65 dollars getting my naturally hair cut here, so you don't have to. read more

I chopped off all my hair in May after bleaching it beyond repair. I knew I needed someone really good to take me through the chopping and growing process, and I found Jacquie based on reviews of her experience and expertise with cutting curly hair. Now, I grew out my hair from a pixie cut back in 2012, and it was awkwardly shaped almost the whole time. That's something I just ...expected... when growing out my hair. This time, I don't know what magic Jacquie worked on my hair, but the cut she gave me has been super cute from day one and at every step of the way so far...and I'm really starting to get heavy into the awkward lengths. She is a Paul Mitchell salon and only uses the most advanced and healthy products for your hair. Jackie is truly talented and creative in what she does. She's the best hairdresser I've ever been to for color and haircuts and that's saying something because I grew up in NJ and used to go into NYC to have my hair done. I've been to quite a few others in my life from the beauty shop my grandma went to where everyone knew your name to the over the top salon who charged outrageous prices for a lot of fluff. This salon is the real deal! They do a phenomenal job and are a team of the sweetest most genuine people you will ever meet. I have curly hair and had been cutting my own hair the last year because every time I went in for a haircut somewhere (I've tried several places), I always left disappointed and defeated and felt they didn't listen to me at all. I had my first appointment with Jacquie today, went in a mess, and came out looking fabulous. My curls have not looked this good for at least five years. I have ringlet style curls, and have only had them for ten years, so I really didn't know how to work with them. Jacquie was very thorough and patient and showed me exactly how to style my hair so it will look its best. She really took her time with the cut, too, and in fact told me my type of curl needs to be at least shoulder length to be at its best, saving me from the tragedy of getting a shorter cut that wouldn't look right. I have never had such a thorough, knowledgeable stylist. A good cut really makes a huge difference when you're curly! Everyone at the salon was so friendly and helpful, and I felt totally comfortable there (a rarity for me). I'll be going back for regular cuts with Jacquie, and am going to take my daughter there as well. read more
