I recently bought a condo in MV where the previous tenant left the place smelling like cigarette smoke. The seller painted over the walls (but did not prime) causing the smoke smell to still come through. I made the mistake of first hiring a restoration team to chlorine dioxide the place thinking it was going to solve the odor problem...but due to the new layer of paint the chlorine dioxide could not get to the polluted walls behind the fresh layer of paint. I came to Yelp looking for a team that could prime with an odor-sealant and repaint the place. Tirso, Larry, and the team came through the next day and crushed this project over the next 3-4 days! Tirso made sure he power washed the house and scraped off the old paint to his standard because I noticed he kept going back to make sure everything was cleaned. Completely impressed. I was in a tough situation and needed to find someone quickly to stain my stairs before my new iron ballisters were placed. I had a great experience with JT Custom Painting! Jorge was quick to get back to me regarding the job that I requested and quick to give me an estimate. I painted my living space with the help of my family in my new home, but had issues with this vaulted wall due to heights off the stairwell. The project was small (as seen in the pictures), but he was confident they would be able to take care of it, no problem. Jorge was able to send Tirso over to view the space the same day I confirmed I wanted to use him for the job. Tirso was able to come out the next morning after the estimate to start the job. They worked diligently and took time on the edges to ensure it did not bleed onto the white ceiling. They handled my blinds with care when they took them down and then put them back up before leaving. He also wiped down/ cleaned my windows while they were up on the ladders as well and I appreciated that very much! The job was small and was done by 10am, total of only 3 hours for setup, painting 2 coats and teardown taking all of the trash and supplies they used with them. I appreciate he was willing to take on the project since I had been turned down by other bigger companies, because the project was too small, before finding JT Paint. Very thankful! I needed a painter who could refinish our 22 year old maple kitchen cabinets. The cabinets were in decent condition but were tired and dated. I went on Yelp and requested a quote which resulted in five different painting contractors reaching out to me. Tirso, from J. T. Custom Painting, was the first to schedule a visit my home. His partner Jorge wrote up the bid which was neither the lowest nor the highest. Both Tirso and Jorge were both very thorough and direct in answering my questions. Plus they were able to begin the job sooner than some of the other painters. Tirso and his crew did an excellent job. The cabinets look like new! The white lacquer finish is smooth and is an excellent color match with the latex trim paint I've used throughout my home. They added new hardware which required drilling new holes and filling in the old screw holes. Tirso and his crew were here at 8 every morning, put in a full day's work, and cleaned up at the end of each day. Because of rainy windy weather while they were here, I offered them the use of my garage for spraying the cabinet doors. We had just bought a house and discovered that it had been painted everywhere without sanding or priming. The paint was peeling off. Several painters turned down the job. I called JTC custom painting and spoke to Jorge who listened carefully and was very nice. The same day, Tirso came to take a look. He said they would need to scrape all of the paint off the doors and frames by hand. It would be a long and tedious process. He gave me a price and started the next day. The job turned out to be worse than he expected. He and his team, Larry, and Sergio, worked tirelessly to get it done. they went above and beyond in every way to make sure that we were happy. They never asked for a penny beyond their quote. We also decided to have them paint the kitchen and bathroom cabinets and they did an excellent job. Tirso even painted the inside of the cabinets which was not part of his quote for that. On several occasions we left them in our house while we went out and not only did we trust them, but they even brought in a heavy TV that was delivered and locked everything up before they left. I came across an excellent review from a customer of JT Custom Painting who was in the same situation as I was when I got stuck while doing my own painting in the first floor of my house. I didn't know how to start painting the living space that connects to the stair well because of the high ceilings and walls. It was Thursday when I requested for an estimate, Friday when Tirso stopped by to give an actual quote, and Saturday when he and Tony started the job. They started at 8:36 am and finished at 5:45pm wasting no time in between except to eat their lunch. They really know their craft as shown in the final product. Tirso and Larry were phenomenal in every way! We had just moved into a house where the seller had painted with water based paint over oil based paint without sanding or priming. Everything was peeling. Tirso and Larry tirelessly scraped the bad paint job off everything and made our disaster look like a brand new home. It was a grueling job in the middle of an awful heat wave, and we are so grateful for their hard work. They were meticulous and did not settle for less than perfection!
