Located right in North Ocean Shore Boulevard, JT's Seafood Shack has plenty of parking options. My family and I came on a Saturday afternoon for lunch and were immediately seated outside. But don't be fooled, there is an outdoor seating area. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't our friend when we visited (it was cold and rainy). Which now that I think about it... I'm not too mad about it since the ground outside is mostly sand. We only crossed the parking lot and my car looked like we had made a beach visit. Our waitress was amazing & had the best recommendations on what to order! I ordered the Blackened Shrimp Tacos and can I just say... WOW! The tacos were flavorful and plentiful. It came with a small side of rice and beans which was a nice touch to the tacos. My dad ordered the Blackened Shrimp and Scallops Platter and he said the scallops were cooked to perfection (it wasn't chewy or rubbery). But we both agreed on that the cajun spice was a little too much for us to handle. Unfortunately, I live in Central Florida so I'm not near JT's but if I was, I would be here almost every month. I can't wait to go back to the Palm Coast and stop in.

Blackened fish tacos and onion rings

The food was good ...not spectacular. I had the lobster roll and it was unimpressive. The meat was very bland and the roll wasn't toasted and buttery like most lobster rolls. I will say that there was a lot of lobster on the roll. The blackened fish tacos were very good as well as the onion rings. I actually dipped my lobster roll in the sauce that came with the tacos! Very laid back and casual place! We stopped at lunch time so no live music. The portion size is good as well as the service. Would I come back based on this visit.., probably not. I think the prices were a little pricey for lunch. But I am glad we stopped.

Seafood bouillabaisse (5/5)

Seriously, the best seafood bouillabaisse I've had. And our waitress was the best too, super down to earth and gave us great service! We tried the Gumbo soup (3/5) and Shrimp seafood boil (4/5), it was yummy and fresh...but my ultimate favourite was the Seafood Bouillabaisse! So deliciously complex with seafoody textures and simmering flavours. The broth in it was *chef's kiss*. Make sure you soak it all up with the baguette!

Early dinner at JT's. Wanted to take a drive and look at some of the sites. Wife had a burger- daughter had fried shrimp and I had the early bird tilapia. Burger was good - would have been better if they toasted the bun. Fries a bit cold. Daughter like the shrimp she exchanged green beans for the fries. I had tilapia grilled comes with rice and green beans. It was good although the beans were a bit cool. Good service ok food. It's a 4.

Blackened crab cakes, hush puppies, and french fries.

Friendly and engaging staff, delicious crab cakes, and some indulgent Mac and cheese make this one of our go to spots when visiting town. Hush puppies were a little dry but the French fries were on point and the crab cakes had great flavor. Definitely worth checking out

Catfish

First I'd like to say the service is great, but as a tourist it's harder to get gator in this area than I thought but we found JTs. Sadly I can get better gator back in my hometown of Oklahoma. It was breaded more than there was meat so we weren't overly impressed. My boyfriend ordered catfish and I got the fried shrimp. They have a early dinner special from 3-6 but it was only a dollar cheaper than the original dinner. The food was hot and served fresh but there's was nothing to be excited over. It was overall very bland. I feel like the food all tasted the same. The fries, hush puppies and shrimp honestly all tasted the same... lacked seasoning and flavor. The December drink specials were good. We got "the grinch" and "the mistletoe margarita" and both were great. Probably wouldn't give it a try again.

Bloody Mary!

Decided to give this little place a try on our way back home from a company outing and man am I so glad we did! First, COVID talk: They have tons of outside seating which is really what drew us in as it allows for a great deal of distancing and a feeling of safety. The staff is all wearing masks, properly! No nose bandits here! Thank you! Tables and all spaces seemed well cleaned as well. Now the food! We started with a Bloody Mary as it was the special of the day and the evening before deemed it necessary. It was perfectly balanced and spicy. We then tried the fried chicken tenders and they were also super good. They have almost a cornmeal/Hushpuppy crust which was just perfect! For our meals we ordered fried shrimp and scallops and again we were not unhappy! The shrimp come with a pink dip that I can't quite place but it was so good! The scallops had a white sauce in the side for dipping that was key lime and some pepper (sorry I forgot!) but it was the perfect mix of sweet and a sing. The shrimp were fried perfectly and sweet. The scallops were big and tender! We will absolutely be back!!

Broiled scallops and onion rings.

Been driving past for 20 years and it has always been suoer busy. My wife and I took a chance and were pleasantly surprised we were able to be seated right away. Although not pictured, the calamari was some of the best that I have ever had, although I would've liked some tentacles . The crab cakes were the best that I have ever eaten. My entree was the broiled scallops and onion rings. Both good. The service was top-notch, and the server was knowledgeable, friendly, and prompt. We plan on visiting again kn the autumn when we return, and we'll bring our famy.

Wow! This place is fantastic! We were staying at the beach for the weekend and wanted to find a little local place for fried shrimp and I'm so glad we found this place! The Spicy Crab Dip is incredible and I will be craving it forever. The whole place has this beachy old school vibe that was exactly what we were looking for but it wasn't touristy and you could tell that the locals love this place too.

This was my shrimp boil. Would give it a 4 star rating.

JT's Seafood Shack Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - JT's Seafood Shack

Is there a dock where we can put out boat near the restaurant?

We ate there at spring break and as I recall, this restaurant was a little ways off the beach. Not walking distance. Maybe a half mile or more. The beach didn't have any docking areas that I remember either. But it was amazing food and well worth it.

Are dogs allowed at the outdoor dining area?

Patti, We don't officially allow dogs yet. However we do make frequent exceptions for well behaved dogs on quiet days outside. Right now we are in the busiest season (Feb-July) so there are few quiet days, but August through January is much easier.…

May I bring my well mannered dog at the outdoor seating area?

I would hope not. It's not an expansive place indoors.

You order at the counter, and the young lady helping us was super nice and very helpful. I grabbed a canned soda, but learned they have tea with free refills--definitely trying that next time. She even offered a cup of ice for my soda, which was thoughtful. Since they're on the beach side, straws are paper. For food, I had the tomato bisque soup--great presentation and nice flavor, though I personally would have loved it a bit creamier. I also tried the goat cheese crostini. The flavor was good, but it was served on a basic toast. I think it would really pop on a sturdier, toasted bread for a better texture contrast with the creamy goat cheese. The space itself is simple and beachy. They have about 7-8 tables, with bench seating on one side and chairs on the other. Heads up: no padding, so if you're like some of my family, you may want to bring a cushion (LOL). We didn't feel rushed at all even though they close at 3pm, and it was nice to enjoy our meal and conversation without feeling hurried. Parking can be tricky in this area, but we found a spot across the street and walked over. All in all, Vessel makes for a pleasant, casual spot for lunch. I'd definitely come back to try more of the menu!
