I don't give a shit what anyone says, Juan Pollo is bomb! As per Filipino tradition, when celebrating your birthday you treat others. So, for my birthday, I ordered a party pack that feeds 10-15 people and I was able to feed way more than that-- with leftovers! And not because the food wasn't good, but because there was just so much. My co-workers really enjoyed the food, they gobbled everything up. The chicken was perfectly moist, not dry at all. The rice was tasty, as well as their potato salad.. My favorite! The only thing I didn't really like were the tortillas. They were kind of dense, and felt mass produced, for lack of a better word? I would expect something more fresh. Yeah, that's a better word. Fresh. When ordering a party pack, plates and sporks are included in your order. How freakin' awesome is that? Awesome! I had 23 guests at my sons birthday party and we had plenty of leftovers! We had catering deal #2. We have half a tray of chicken left over, it was really good. Its kind of dry not bad though but put salsa that they provide as well and with the beans, rice, and potato salad your good! They also provided totillas, hot salsa, mild salsa, plates, sporks, and napkins so I had less to worry about. The rice was above average. It had shredded chicken on top and very good flavor and feel thoughout, very much like a home cooked meal. The beans were great and the potato salad was amazing with chopped green onion, very good. At first I gave this 2 stars, but then decided I would not give them a 2nd opportunity. Prior to going we read a review in @ Home Magazine, they raved about the founder and his restaurants. I'm pretty easy to please and generally clean my plate. I ordered the 1/4 chicken lunch plate. I liked nothing about it. The chicken was dry, the beans had a strong lime taste, the rice was gummy and the pico sauce was pale and very runny. The fork was one of those 'spork' tools. The iced tea from the vending machine had an odd taste. I threw more than half my lunch in the trash. So did my husband. It is our opinion, El Pollo Loco has much better chicken. read more

I called in an order and after 15 minutes I finally got a hold of someone who immediately placed me on hold. Then once I got to the restaurant I still had to wait 30 minutes for my food which they got wrong. I didn't get all my sides. This place is so dirty and disgusting. The cook came out of the bathroom and made jokes about going #2. Who knows if he washed his hands. Ok, been back and I'm over my hate from before! Actually went there during the day and was pleased overall with everything. The food itself has seemed to have improved. The chicken didn't improve because it was already good! But the sides. The rice I noticed had more chicken and scallions in it. The potato salad also contained a noticeable amount of more flavorings. Normally perfer "Juans rotisserie" but come here to Juan Pollo when im in the area. service is never good, there is never any workers in front at the register, instead you are welcomed by a "ring the bell for service" sign.. but there is no bell on the counter. Wait a few minutes before someone finally comes out of fhe back, and looks at you like you are inturrupting what ever it was they were doing in the back, washes hands... with no soap.. the procedes to help me.. i order my food, dinner special at Juan's rotisserie, includes drinks, here it does not. i also order a small side of cheese to make my own tacos, J.R. is under $1 for a small side. here it is labled as $1.99. which doesnt bother me, i want to make my tacos, so i ask for a small side, she says its going to be $5, i said but it says $1.99, she says yes, but we charge double. .... then why have a price written on the small container, if you are going to charge more??? on top of bad service, food not up to expectations, and dirty restrooms.. in all, have had some not so good experiences here, and this was the final straw. will not return to this Juan Pollo. read more

I am always amazed at the quality of food at Juan Pollo. The price is right for generous portions and the food is always tasty. I was in the area and my husband and I dropped in to try it out. It was awesome and the food hit the spot!! You know that good feeling when you sneeze? Imagine that lasting for the duration of your meal. Juan Pollo normally has great food (based on other locations). However, walking into this location, my husband and I both gagged at the scent of cockroaches! I used to go to this place all the time for lunch when I worked in Fontana. I didn't even know they had one out here. Never had Juan Pollo before, the prior establishment didn't make it, Juan Pollo took over about a year ago, the restaurant is clean, staff is friendly. We ordered mini family meal with whole chicken and 3 small sides to go, the chicken is excellent, fall of bone and juicy, the sides include bean, rice, and potato salad, side is standard with no other option, bean is pinto beans, potato salad and rice are very unique, the rice is like Mexican style 'fried rice', all are tasty and fresh. Other reviews says chicken is dry, it is not the case for us. We like El Pollo Loco but now Juan pollo is the new place for chichen, will defintely visit again and hope they will make it at this new location. They've got really good chicken. Compared to Popeyes or KFC I'd choose Juan Pollo. They've got great specials and $5 for lunch is hard to beat. Always comes out fresh and delicious.
