Went to lunch with a co-worker who wanted to go to Juan Pollo. I have never actually been in and ordered a meal here and grilled chicken did sound good. I got the 1/2 Chicken meal with beans & potato salad. The chicken was just as I expected, really good and tasty grilled chicken and a lot of it for that matter. The potato salad was also very delicious, but found the beans kinda bland. Along with the three tortillas, I had a very delicious and filling meal. I do have to say, that the gentleman behind the counter taking our order was very polite, friendly and efficient. The service was great and will definitely be heading back to this location for lunch very soon. read more

I hate writing negative reviews about places I enjoy eating at. However my issue with this location 1014 e highland ave San Bernardino is that the amount of chicken I receive on my hard shell tacos is insulting. I've given ample opportunities for them to correct their issue hoping I wouldn't have to say anything, however it's an ongoing issue management and ownership must address. The Pomona location sets the precedence for quality and quantity. When I addressed the issue with the cashier her response was, and I quote "do you want to order extra chicken?" in which I replied "I don't want to order extra chicken, I want the proper amount of chicken". Located in Highland is Juan Pollo . Across the street of Juan Pollo is where the homeless people are, so you might see some homeless begging for money. The area is pretty ghetto because you're in SAN BERNARGHETTO. The place can be hot because their is only one vent working Inside for the ac. Also, some table can be dirty at times. The menu is pretty simple and straight forward. (I couldn't take a picture because I was in a hurry) they take your order in the front. They do bring your food out pretty fast. Usually less than 5 min. Outside of that the service is pretty decent. Also, the chicken can be a hit or a miss. It can be either warm and rubbery or it can be hot and really good. We came here after visiting the McDonalds museum and finding out it was owned by the owner of Juan Pollo. The location is really run down and had we not just heard about him, we would have not come here. Suprisingly they have alot of business, we got half a chicken, rice beans, tortilla shells, mild and hot salsa, a quesadilla, tostada and the dessert cinnamon sugar tortillas. All this came to be $14 which was fair and fed the three of us. The chicken not my thing but the boys said it was ok. The rice was very sticky and bland, not great. The beans were plain pintos but fine. Everything lacked flavor, service was fine, the bathrooms disgusting! In all, the quesadilla and tostada was fine, the rest not worth mentioning or going back to. Oh well at least we learned alot about the history of San Bernadino and its fast food roots. read more

I really love this place but went in to order and menu change occurred, which resulted in higher price for dinners but less chicken in order. I wouldn't mind the half chicken like before, even paying higher price, but chicken in container was equivalent to one piece which was thigh and leg. I was shocked and thought they forgot my order. This place is absolutely great. To start, the chicken at this location is the best tasting. I have tried the other locations ( 5th street ) and Fontana and they just seem to be missing something. The customer service is fast and friendly. It literally took them 30 seconds and they had my order ready to go. The potato salad is always fresh and delicious. The rice is my daughters favorite because of the chicken they add to it. I usually order a mini pack which is enough to feed a family of 4. You gotta try it for yourself. So I just ordered a half chicken meal and was given a leg and thigh meal, no biggy right. When I went in to have it corrected the girl asked for my receipt. Looked at it and then grabbed my container opened it and say it was wrong and proceeded to yell at the other employees. Then the other girl started yelling back at her. They put on this whole show of yelling at each other. I just wanted my chicken.
