Man... I am so sad to do this, but people need to be warned. The service was quick, too quick. I ordered an all leather and cheese shredddd beef burrito. Which has been my go to for years. But the meat was dry af. They were generous with the sauce at three sauces. However, the food came out quick af which is cool I guess but the shreddd beef I got was bone dry and overall disappointing. It's crazy what the prices are too now. 14.50 for a window burrito. I was mountain biking in the local mountains today & built a huge hunger. Looking for a hearty burrito & some tacos. A couple of riders recommended Juanita's, an old school Mexican spot that would be on my way home. The place was definitely old school. Plenty of parking behind the spot. A couple of tables outside & no drive thru. The sign outside said home made tortillas, so I was all in! I ordered a bean & cheese burrito, 2 beef tacos & a large coke. All under $15. The burrito was average fast food size (slightly larger than Del Taco) but not really loaded with beans. The tortilla didn't seem fresh & was hard. The beans were okay but not very flavorful. The red salsa helped somewhat. The hard shelled beef tacos were good but not the best I ever had. Classically built with shedded beef, lettuce & topped with a lot of cheese. The beef didn't have a lot of taste. Again the red sauce helped somewhat. Overall I was disappointed with my meal. Although there are a lot of fans of the place, I'm not sure if I'll be back. I have been coming here since the 1980's, usually on the way home from skiing or dirtbike riding or something where we are coming down the 10 freeway.... I've probably made the mistake at least 10 times driving down here on a Sunday when they are closed on Sundays!!!!!! Not sure why they call this place a drive-in because it is nothing like a drive-in..... maybe 50 or 60 years ago they owned the parking lot where there is now the 7-11 you actually could drive in and they would serve you, who knows? This is what I would call a hole in the wall, but that is not really accurate because it is a freestanding business. What is it? It is fantastic! It is my favorite shredded beef taco on the planet!! Taquitos too are incredible! Same goes for the rice, burritos, you name it. The place looks sort of rundown, but the quality and taste of the food is the best! It is also the definition of egalitarian.. place your order and get your number.... Everybody is waiting together outside (there is no inside) this tiny establishment..... very communal.... Try both the red and the green hot sauce ...... some people mix them...... Went for taco Tuesday, small tacos. For the price i didn't considered it taco Tuesday. Not great but not bad, meat needs more seasoning, red and green taco sauce was blah, is like for chip salsa, not spice at all. I only tried it because i seen it on tik tok and everyone was raving about it. Overall, i wont be back for them. Ive had better within the community. My hands are no big and i eat them in 2 bites. Went here for the first time today for national taco day . Every Tuesday they have there tacos for $2.35. They were so good . Perfectly fried and not greasy. We tried the shredded beef, chicken and even a couple potato ones. Their French fries are amazing and cooked just right. Also ordered a bean and cheese burrito, it was also very good. IMO the best shredded beef tacos around. The carne asada burrito reminds me of Manny's El Loco, when it used to be in business, in Covina. The tortillas are made fresh in the restaurant. Was pretty hungry and stumbled upon Juanita's for a quick pick up! They have a wide selection of burritos, naked plates, tacos, Chile Rellenos, nachos, and much more! There's was a short line, 2 people ahead of me but the line moved really quick! I settled for the Carne Asada burrito. I was in a hurry and my burrito was ready in less than 3 minutes!! It's definitely fast!! My burrito had the perfect ratio/combination of carne asada, rice, beans, and a spread of gooey cheddar. First bite into it, it was very tasty! Everything blended so well together. The only thing lacking was the size, it's a small to medium size burrito. Also, some parts of the carne asada had lingering fats around it. I had to yank some of the fats off lol. Overall, a good experience!! Fast, tasty, and does the job. Minus one star for extra fats and size. read more

Will be visiting SoCal this weekend, and will be timing my arrival to coincide with opening of Juanita's in Pomona, and will be going to Juanita's III in Rancho Cucamonga later with my family! (Don't judge me). I can't say I've had the whole menu but I have consumed many many dozens of their meat and cheese burritos and shredded beef tacos! These are the best I have ever had in my 54 years of life, starting with Juanita's discovered in my early twenties. Their tortillas are heavenly. The meat is to die for! I read the most recent post about the different locations. I went to the Pomona location today because the Ontario location was closed for Good Friday. Ordered the nachos, bean and cheese burrito, bean tostadas, and beef taquitos. Here are my votes: Nachos: Pomona didn't come with the olives and guacamole sauce, whereas, Ontario does. In the photo you will see that I ordered mine without the jalapeños, onions, and cilantro. Taquitos: Pomona makes their corn tortilla deep fried differently. The Ontario location has a softer crunch with a bit of oil on it where Pomona is drier and much more crunchier (you might possibly have to hold your hand under to catch the crumbs. The MEAT is a little bit flavorful at the Ontario location, but the meat at the Pomona location is good. Bean Tostadas: The cheese might be different at both locations. It might be the shred size. The Ontario location is a little bit tastier, but Pomona is still good. Bean and Cheese Burrito: The Ontario location puts a little bit more cheese where you sometime have to stretch it to eat it. Pomona put a good amount of cheese too, but not as much. The burrito flavor is the same so both burritos are good. The edge probably goes to the Ontario location. Red and Green sauce: Ontario only has red sauce and they give it out in a smaller container than Pomona. The Ontario red sauce is a bit thicker. Both locations have very good red sauce. Ontario does not have green sauce. The take away from this is that the Pomona location will fill your Ontario cravings, but Ontario probably Is slightly better when it comes to flavor, otherwise it's nearly the same. Oh, the Pomona employees are very nice and service is quicker than Ontario. read more

This place used to be very good. I liked to drop by here for a quick lunch (since they close up early) for either an all-meat burrito or a steak enchilada combo meal. The place is very small and there is no interior dining, but it's always crowded since people don't mind lining up for good food with a reasonable price. Things have changed just recently. They no longer accept credit cards, so all orders have to be paid in cash. Food is in smaller portions, and is not as good as before. It has less meat, is a little dry, and the price increased a bit. I may drop by once in a while, but it's no longer a frequent stop. read more

This place is delicious but they really cut back on their hours. They are closed Sundays which I understand. But Monday through Saturday they close at 5 and was advised they stop taking orders at 4:30 so if that's the case they really do close at 4:30. Make a note before you go it is not an easy place to get to. My boo always gets the chicken Deluxe which is there giant burrito for $22 however if they are out of the giant tortilla you can order a veggie burrito with chicken which is absolutely delicious. My father-in-law loves the beef and cheese and my mother-in-law loves the chili relleno plate. I enjoy them all and they're all equally different as well as delicious. If possible I would call ahead since their hours or so versatile but all in all great service and great food. read more

A tiny little Mexican fast food restaurant that serves quality delicious food. How delicious?? So delicious that I've seen people in line that have told me they drove an hour to get there and frequent this little gem! It might not look like much, but it's clean, and the food is amazing (especially their meat, bean, rice and cheese burritos and chicken tacos!). There's a reason I've been coming back for over 40 years, the meat, rice, cheese with hot sauce burrito rocks! They've gotten more expensive and the burrito is smaller but the pork have a unique flow or I haven't found anywhere's else. Actually, Patty's in Claremont has the same flavor because Patty used to work at Juanita's. Anyway, great memories and glad it's still a viable business with several fast food chains that have opened next door over the years.
