Juan's services was goodand glad we used him to cut our trees in front of our house. My parents were the ones who referred Juan's services as they found him on Home Advisor. Glad I found him on Yelp, too! They cut my parents three big trees in San Leandro and it was done very professionally and they cleaned up well. I received a quote from Juan the next day after my parents gave me his info and I gave him a call. Even if he is from Concord, he made his way to our home in Hayward. Here's my experience with him: I received a decent quote from him for our two trees and bush stumps. I was actually skeptical as he never got back to me during the week when he could do it. I texted and called him but he didn't respond. I guess he was busy working on other homes? He did call finally within the same day and said he would be here Saturday around 10a but he was late by over an hour. He did call me after and said he was on the way but I did have to call to see what happened to him. If he knows he will be late, he should contact the customers. It's only courteous, right? He only came with one other guy and they went right to business. He was actually friendly and chatted with us after. I could tell this was not going to take a long time to do. They used a big shredder and a machine that eats the tree trunk! It was fun watching! They cleaned up well. My advise if you shred your trees to remove your cars far away as that trunk eating machine spits a lot of debris. That was the fastest service (an hour) that ate my money!! Juan's "crew" does a marvelous job with things like tree removal. But I would exercise caution when looking at more elegant projects. I "contracted" (he wouldn't sign one - shame on me) for a small retaining wall. The wall is okay, but the details of the finished work were ignored. Left for me to solve were joints where retaining wall meets an existing wall - a big, ugly gap. Also, the French drains he installed drain to nowhere, and the steps were installed with obviously marred material. When I last saw Juan (to collect payment), he promised he would be back within the week to clean up the site, and remediate some of my structural concerns. Never saw him again. Our neighbors hired these guys to cut a tree in their backyard... This tree was right on the fence, a large portion of the tree branches coming over to our side and what not...we have a large gazebo swan canopy (just purchased and put up maybe a week or two ago--brand new and cost 243$ on Amazon) that was near the fence by that tree they were cutting down... they left our side of the yard filled with sticks and branches all over the ground...an exceptionally large pile of sticks and debris on top of our shed (shed is almost directly beneath the tree they were cutting)...damaged part of our fence and damaged our canopy beyond repair.. I took photos the same day this happened...and im so glad i did We called the business owner to clear the matter up. He agreed to come by and check out the damage.... While inspecting the damage, he felt that the tree branch couldnt have fallen onto the canopy, since the tree was closer to the shed than the canopy gazebo---- mind you this was a giant tree with long branches expanding past the area of the trunk and denied that the damage to the fence was from his workers the business owner said he was going to talk to his workers and asked for a few days to resolve the issue... More then a few days went by and no response from the owner....We had to call him, again. After he finally answered.... Juan ultimately agreed to pay for the damage and stated he would stop by after work in a fewfays***based on his tone and attitude, you could tell he was not happy-which is fair, cuz it sucks when your employee damage property and you as the business owner have to take care of it, but you do atleast get to write off the expense at the end of the year when you do your taxes*** He eventually did drop off the check, but we did have to call him back and forth for over a week about it to ensure it would be resolved Im happy they did the right thing and paid for the damage but we wont be hiring them anytime soom read more

We hired Juan's company to remove a large redwood tree in my neighbor's back yard. The tree was on the fence line, with about 15' feet of clearance, on either side, to the two houses. The neighbor insisted that we hire a licensed and insured contractor, which Juan is. Given the difficulty and risks involved in removing this large tree in a tight spot, I would never have hired an unlicensed company. Juan's bid was very reasonable, especially compared to a couple of other big, established companies I had bid the job. The work was scheduled and completed within a week of my getting the bid. The crew was very professional, and super conscientious. The stump grinding and overall cleanup was excellent. Our solar panels are now safe, and we've added a lot of value to the neighbor's property. Terrible overall experience. TREES - From the other reviews, the people he works with to do tree removal, were excellent. Arrived on time. Removed the trees. Didn't damage our fence. LANDSCAPING - What a mess. The images he showed to sell me on his work and the job he did was vastly different. Guess that's what we get to taking the lowest bid. I wish he were honest. Another review stated that they needed to redo the work. We didn't redo the work but needed to spend hours fixing it to our specification. What he stated he would do and what he did was ridiculous. He made lots of excuses for shoddy work. JUAN - He himself required constant project management. Fortunately I was home to do so. He did not keep his word. From the days or times he stated he would arrive. To what he said he would do. He would spend a day or two then disappear to another project. Which is fine. Just keep your word. Lack of communication was a series issue. His workers were better. Asking them to do a specific task was far more efficient than going through Juan. I had Juan and his crew out to do work on a large pine tree, remove 6 large cypresses and cut 6 more down to 12 foot. In addition took out a large oleander bush for no additional cost. Price for the job was reasonable. The crew showed up on time, did the job, cleaned up, and left. My complaint is that we paid for stump grinding which they partially did but not 4-6 inches into the ground for both trees. They left parts of the two stumps untouched or not fully ground which we didn't notice until we removed all of the sawdust. I attempted to contact Juan to see if they could stop by to fully grind the stumps but no response. The service promised was not the service delivered. read more

I requested him to move his shredder truck further away from my house, to avoid dust in my home, he just flatly said "No." and argued, " talk to the landlord." I called her, and she said it took months to get them to come and she doubted he would listen to her anyway. After he said "why don't you move, you don't have to live here", I decided to post this review. I am a long-time annual renter, so not responsible for employing him, but I believe my landlady will not be pleased with this comment. My neighbor contracted these guys to remove a pair of redwood stumps that were left by another contractor (who was not licensed & never paid his guys). As any good contractor would they saw the palm tree stumps left by the same aformentioned guys that also worked on my house. We agreed on a price to remove 5 palm tree stumps. After they finished at my neighbors house, they moved their gear to my yard. They have their own dumptruck, stump grinder & tools. The job was completed by sundown! Two of them finished all the work within 3 hours: tree trimming for 2 trees, tree removal, cut all the branches for fire and clean all the green debris in the backyard. The tree removal service was fine, but the way they trimmed one of our maple trees basically killed it. They then offered to remove that tree, for a fee, but have failed to show up after several weeks to do the job. They made lots of excuses and now no longer even respond.
