Where do I begin? I took the first picture while I was still at the salon. The next 2 were taken once I got home. What happened, you ask? I received a fill-in (acrylic overlay on my natural nails) and the result is pictured. Let me start by saying, this fill-in took 20 minutes. If it was done right and took that amount of time, then we would have a winner. But, it was not, as you can see... When I noticed the lines, I asked why they were there, and Judy responded, "I don't know." Ummm, what kind of response is that? I told her that I didn't like it and then she proceeded to have a conversation in her native language with the other nail techs. Seriously? Then, to make matters worse, this cost $55! I asked why, and was told that it was because it was ombre. So, now, painting glitter on the top half of the nail is considered ombre. Got it! I could have caused a scene and argued, but instead, I am choosing to let the "power of the pen" work and write this review. So, take a look at the pics and choose wisely. read more

Honestly, one of the worst sets I've ever gotten. My nails are going in different directions. Just simple straight square and instead they are curved and one is just completely sideways. She attempted to fix one but it did nothing and I was over it. It was cheap...but you get what you pay for. Will not be back. read more

I want to preface the 4 star rating is for the young gentleman who did my names... I think his name started with a D...David? Daniel? Romoved 1 star for lack of sanitation. I went in for a mani-pedi. I originally called for Judy, but she was busy. I ended up with the young gentleman, and I was pleasantly surprised. He did a GREAT job. My only complaint is that I didn't see anyone clean the tubs after each use, they did not use liners, and they just quickly wiped down the tools with alcohol vs putting them through the full sanitation process. read more

I am reposting my review because somehow it was taken down. I wish I could give this establishment NO stars but unfortunately I have no choice but to give one that it does not deserve....Hello all my , I wanted to come here to get the word out about a local nail salon that totally mistreated me. I went to Judy's Nail located at 10587 Middleport Lane in White Plains, MD to have a nail repaired. Before having a proper conversation and evaluation of the rest of my nails, Judy (the owner and nail tech) proceeded with the process to cut down my nails without realizing that the product she was using wasn't a matching color (the powder). This caused me to have to do a full set instead of a repair. She told me that a soak off would take too long and agreesively rushed through taking them off. I told her repeatedly that how she was taking off my nails hurt and the response I received was "sorry, your nail too thick". At that point, I just wanted to get through the appointment and get out of there. Well, when she finished, Judy wanted me to pay $75 for the service. I told her that I had to be brutally honest with her and say that I didn't feel that the service I received should be so expensive. Judy got loud and told me she'd have to call 911 for refusal of purchase. I simply asked her in a calm matter what warranted her calling the police when she was the one being aggressive to me. I simply made a comment, and never refused to pay. Other customers were trying to get Judy to calm down and even offered to pay for me. I , who also has a cosmetology license in the state of Maryland, told her that as a licensed professional herself, I was not happy with the service nor some of her practices. That's when she put the phone down. I respectfully paid and left but will proceed with filing a complaint with the county and the MD Department of Labor State Board of Cosmetologist. Unfortunately, the extent of my fight/push back is to not return for any services to this establishment, but they continue to flourish. Judy was rushing, rude, and aggressive. If, by chance, someone here happens to be a customer of hers, you should know her other side. JUDY actions the day you serviced me speak loud according to your page, yelp reviews and other websites I have researched. You just happen to treat the wrong person bad and now I've brought your true side to light to others that did not know. I am a young black woman that dares NOT to be treated the way I was treated. You should have never picked up the phone and threaten to call 911 on me, in no way was I a threat to you or your establishment . The first thing in running a business because I too have one of my own, is PROFESSIONALISM and I say this because that is where you lacked of the day you serviced me and yet again, on previous occasions. Might I add that you also treated another young lady poorly sitting right next to me roughly removing her nail tips and telling her "I have bad day, you go to another salon then". Your bad days should never be brought out on an innocent person that is coming into your establishment expecting 5 star services in any circumstance. Is that how a business owner talks to customers? Is that how you want to be treated? The young lady next to me nor I did nothing to you in any way. I don't know who your God is but with my God I go to him and repent the sinful actions I committed and apologize to him first, to myself and the person I did wrong to. Yes you might have completed a full set on me but in this situation, that is NOT the point of it all. I gave you honest CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM that you decided to look at as a threat. Not one time did I yell, not one time did I scream, not one time did I make agressive gestures at you or another employee of the establishment, and not one time did I say I did not want to pay the services at all. You consistently went back and forth with someone that you do not know on social media about YOUR wrong doings. Therefore, have a blessed day and I pray that God gives you a fixed mind. read more

I've known Judy for a few years now. She worked at another salon closer to my house for awhile and she was the best one there! I happened to run into her a few months ago and found out that she started working at another shop so of course I had to go and support her! She remembered little details about me and how I like to get my nails done which was pretty amazing if you ask me. I always give her free reign on the designs because she knows what I like plus I trust her judgment. This visit was no different! Best nail tech ever and she has a customer for life!! I really liked going to this salon at first, but if you don't have Judy herself do your nails, they're a mess. Twice I went for a fill and gel manicure, and both times my nails were chipping in two days. This past visit will be my last. The young man who did my nails injured me greatly. He filed down so low using the electric file/drill. I asked him to stop twice, but he didn't stop until my finger was bleeding under the bed of my nail. In addition to this, two of my other finger were bleeding from him using the regular file too low. Once he was done, I asked him to fix the shape. I asked for almond and was given sharp points. My thumb nail was so crooked that he attempted to fix it three times. By the end most of my thumbnail tip was almost completely gone. After a day or two of chipping I ended up filing down all of my tips myself and after two weeks my acrylics have started to come off completely. I should've walked out once my pinky finger started bleeding, and regret not doing that and paying full price. There are many other nail salon options in this area and I recommend going elsewhere if you aren't going to have Judy herself. read more

I do believe that this salon can do good work, but maybe it was my request not to have a drill on my nails and to be (wrapped and) soaked, that lead to just an ok job. I also asked for gel polish - they seemed a little turned off by that when I declined the dip powder. I needed an 3rd coat on my toes because of the yellow color I selected... they ignored my request, and the manicure was rushed. If you're looking for a professional & relaxing place to get your nails done, please look elsewhere. Judy is sweet but sweet doesn't run a business. Nothing about this place says "nail SPA". Her staff are completely unprofessional. If I thought taking almost 4 hours to do a full set/ gel pedicure was bad, the staff screaming through a microphone attempting to sing karaoke in their native tongue was the icing on the cake. The facility is run down, the staff all seem inexperienced, the stations are very old & the service makes up for none of it. I had to provide more direction for a simple all white gel deluxe pedicure than all my decades of getting this service... by the end I hated the shape of my toes after having it redone twice. The guy that did my nails was probably the best in there but still couldn't hold a candle to most other nail technicians I've experienced. I should have known to run when it's completely empty on a Friday afternoon. This is my second time here & I will NEVER go back there. This salon is thirteen minutes from where I live currently, before I got these done I went to Davis Nails (I don't recommend them at all) for a full acrylic set. They needed a filling and I knew that I wasn't going back to Davis Salon so I did some quick research on where to go. Jacqueline Nail really intrigued me they are close by, and the reviews looked so reliable I made a appointment and I went there with one broken nail and a well needed filling. Today - I just left having a good pedicure experience however the nail service was not good. At all, the owner is normally very good this time she didn't correct the issue that a nail tech did to my nails. Instead of removing the half polished nail work, Judy the owner was very dismissive, painted over the poor job still not covering my entire nail. they look very thick! And some of my nails were still left half polished. I refuse to argue with Judy. I pointed it out to her and she still has a lack of care disposition. Therefore, as a result of her careless disposition. I decided to write this post of the poor service rendered today. I can't understand the unprofessionalism and attitude. I will not be returning... During the week may be a better experience, because even with an appointment, I felt rushed and had to share my time with a walk-in and another client. I've been here three times now and feel that I have given them a fair shot. If Judy wasn't the only person who could do designs or didn't have to always help/assist the others, it would allow her the ability to focus on the person in her chair, especially when using tools. On my first visit I called beforehand and asked for an appointment with Judy and she told me to come on in. When I got there she pushed me off on another lady to do my nails which I didn't like but whatever. She was pushy and complained about my nails being to thick (this is a common thing when you go to a new salon they complain about the work of the other salon so that you will continue to come to them). Nails were cool. I returned a few more times and kept getting paired up with the same lady. I was trying to tell her how to fix a cracked nail but she insisted on doing it her way and of course I ended up with a nail fungus. Two additional nails she did also resulted in a nail fungus and at that point I had them soaked off because I was very disappointed. One of my nails she fixed was pointed upward at an awkward angle and it bothered the crap out of me! Lastly I purchased a gift cert for my 8 year old and clearly discussed with Judy who it was for and her age. She quoted me the price and I paid for the gift certificate in that amount. When I brought my daughter in to use it, I didn't mention the certificate until it was time to pay. She proceeded to charge me more money and I explained to her what our conversation was when I purchased it. She claimed she didn't remember and it should have been more blah blah blah. But in the end she settled for the gift certificate amount but I was not liking her tone in the process especially when I kept my composure. Needless to say I made the decision to never return and I will give my business elsewhere. This place gets a lot of hype but I do not see why. read more

I visited this salon about three times because I had seen other reviews here as well as I visited the Instagram of the owner and really liked the work and wanted to try out someone different who could possibly do the more fun designs I wanted to try. The first appointment I was very happy with my nails and overall experience. But the two after that went downhill. Making an appointment was easy enough. My second appointment I wanted to try some designs but there was an eyelash appointment that was essentially double booked with mine and that seemed to take precedence so I felt my appointment was rushed. And on top of that I was left waiting at the front for a while thinking that maybe one of the other staff members would just come and ring me up so I could pay and leave. I ended up having to interrupt the eye lash procedure in order to pay. I'm a pretty patient and understanding person but I think in retrospect I should've just left that day without paying. My third appointment I'm not too sure if my nail tech was having a bad day or just didn't want to be bothered with me but it was also rushed and I was basically told that there was no time for anything under than a fill in and polish change. It was my first time visiting Jacqueline. I called before going. To ask prices on gel manicure and pedicure and was quoted $30.00 for gel manicure and $25.00 for pedicure. I like the assorted polish choices and the service was okay. I didn't see the tools come from a sanitary bag or oven (I did ask) and was assured they were sanitized. Well I will fast forward to the service. I was told to elevate my thumbs to get them dry but the top of the oven was burning my hand ( I explained). Now it's time to pay and he said gel manicure is $35.00 because I had gel polish removed. Didn't mention that on the telephone. And had the nerve to say she spent a long time on me. Didn't seem any different then other salons. So I'm only giving two stars for the assorted polishes. They aren't welcoming to outsiders I think they like there Regulars.
