Definitely a local diner. There were locals there enjoying a meal. There's nothing fancy, but the service and food are good. I ordered 2 eggs (scrambled), cranberry bread toast, & the hashbrowns. It was all very good. They make their own bread and have sourdough as a selection too.

The owner of Superior Finds told us about this place on the way out of town. Upon walking in you could tell, this is where the locals go. Don't expect fancy, but I was on day '?' without a shower, fancy was not where I needed. Seat yourself and a friendly server will greet you. Plastic cups, plain beige plates and breakfast served all day. By the smells and the chatter, you knew you'd walk away satisfied. I ordered the walleye dinner (one more time for ol'time sake). The Hubs ordered the chicken tenders. Hands down, the best cooked piece of fish I had the entire trip!! My mouth still waters thinking about the perfection that touched my tongue. Baked potato was cooked exactly how I like also. By the time I finished those two items, I didn't have space for the roll. Chicken strips were as good as most. Super fresh, crunchy and plenty of them. Served with a side of sweet and sour instead of ketchup. I can dig that twist. Onion rings were delicious. Yum! Great recommendation from a local and I'll extend the favor and recommend for y'all too.

Really great service with hot delicious breakfast. The corned beef hash was very good and the homemade sourdough bread was a hit. Some others had pancakes and French toast, equally good.

    Empty Food Plates :) YUMMY!

I had suggested going to our usual go to, the Ledge Rock Grill at Larsmont. My wife insisted staying closer to home and taking advantage of the Valentines seven course dinner menu at Vue North in Superior Shores Resort. We got to the restaurant and were promptly seated at a window table as requested in our reservation. Being a true foodie from way back, I always opt for a well prepared gourmet meal as opposed to a standard menu. I have to admit I was skeptical when I booked the reservation, but am pleased to say the current Chef hit it out of the park. Every course was over the top and a clear ten. Obviously a lot of thought and talent went into both the creation of the menu and preparation of each course. I haven't had a gourmet meal of this caliber in years. The ambiance was excellent, the service was great, and each course was a ten!

Still, I don't regret going here. We sat by a window with a decent view of the water and plenty of light. Our server was very friendly and helpful. While we waited for our food, we walked out on the deck, which led to scenic marshy areas with trails. I ordered beet wellington with arugula, and my spouse had a chicken dish with risotto. Just half of the beet wellington with the arugula was enough to fill me up. I liked the beet wellington, but it would have been better if they figured out a way to season the beet. Maybe pierce it and marinate it a bit? The chicken and risotto were also good. If we were hungrier, we would have supplemented these dishes with more vegetables. This was a nice place to stop before returning on a long drive home. We enjoyed relaxing in the spacious dining room with evocative upscale cabin decor. As I finished typing this, my spouse chimed in, "Not amazing, but pretty good." And in a touristy area where restaurant quality can be hit or miss, pretty good is exactly that: pretty good. We'll take it.

This is absolutely so delicious and perfect for someone who just wants to keep it as a clean healthy meal. The flavor is perfect. You can taste how fresh every single vegetable is. That amount of butter was well balance There's a delicate kind of sweet and sour harmony that makes this dish completely delicious I will definitely come back to this place again. Not sure why my cup of soup took 20 minutes to come, but when it did, it was the wrong soup. She left the wrong one at the table (smoky chicken wild rice) and said the kitchen was just heating up the corn chowder I ordered and it would be out on a minute. Three minutes later, the "corn chowder" was brought out. It was not hot and did not taste good. When the wait staff came out again, I asked her to take it because it wasn't good and her reply was "I'll see if the kitchen forgot something ". Wait....what?? I also ordered the forest mushroom flatbread. It looked pretty but this is a combination that should not exist. The flatbread was cut and then two fried eggs and arugula were place on top so you could not take a bite without losing the egg and salad. Also...when you say it is a "forest mushroom" flatbread, it should actually have wild mushrooms or just call it "Mushroom Flatbread ". On a positive note, the smoky chicken wild rice soup was delicious and the manager stopped by with her apology and a desert on the house. Hopefully I was just here on an off day

We had a much longer wait for pie at Betty's, and were lucky to get a parking place at all. It was mobby, and it wasn't even the weekend! There was about a 10 minute wait to order at the outdoor window, and a 15-20 wait for our slices. Most of the people ahead of us seemed to be getting pie shakes. In addition to the apple pie slice, we bought a toffee cream one. We ate it soon after our visit. It was delicious. The pale crust reminded me of shortbread, the filling light, sweet, and creamy, with what seemed to be Heath bits throughout. It was great and surprisingly not filling at all. As for the apple pie comparison, Betty's version was more cohesive a crust and easier to eat, but it was also surprisingly bland. The thicker crust at the edge was dry, too. The fillings from both bakeries were quite close, both good. From Betty's, we liked the cream pie slice much more than the apple. For classic double-crust apple, Rustic was best between the two.

Fresh toppings, balanced flavors, and even details like using spinach instead of iceberg lettuce showed real care and intention.
