Classic roadside diner with friendly and attentive staff serving up delicious, hearty food. Dined on a recent Sunday morning (8:30A) as a party of three and the place was more than half full, with several family groups dining in. We didn't wait long after ordering for our dishes to come out. Our server was quite energetic and checked in often to top off our coffees, no doubt anticipating an impending breakfast rush. I quite enjoyed The Trucker and was pleasantly surprised by the big, fluffy biscuit slathered with country gravy, a breakfast favorite! I ended up taking most of the biscuit home with the sausages because I ate the eggs, bacon, and fruit there. My dining partners enjoyed their dishes as well, and if we're visiting in the area again, we would happily dine in again.

Corned beef hash was the BEST I've ever had, finely chopped and crispy!!

The service and ambiance was everything we were looking for in for a small diner vibe. The food was phenomenal and the best corned beef hash and chicken fried steak I've had in a long time!!

The old school diner vibe is alive and well here...

We stopped in for lunch today. I ordered a French Dip and my wife ordered the California Chicken Sandwich. We both had fries with our meals. The portions were definitely generous. A lot of beef on my sandwich for sure! The roll it was served on was kind of a variation of a Dutch Crunch. The fries were fresh, hot, and crispy! Service was good. Anything we asked for was served straightaway. The only thing that might have been nice would have been to have drink refills offered, other than that, everything was great. The decor is kind of old school diner, reminds me of the places my parents used to take me when I was a little kid. I enjoyed the mental stroll down memory lane. Prices are not cheap. But nothing in our state is anymore. It was close to $40 for two sandwiches and an iced tea. I won't hold it against 'em, I'm sure we'll be back. LOL

Judy's junction has theee best southwest chicken salad! Along with their house made southwest dressing! I wanted something light and small so I opted for a salad. There was nothing small or light about this salad though! Super delish, has me craving it! It's hard to find a good, flavorful salad nowadays.

    The huge corned beef dish.

Great food, friendly service, fair pricing and good size portions. A definite "down home" feel. I was just passing through, glad I stopped.

I must say, it exceeded all our expectations! We arrived slightly early, and as we waited a friendly gentleman approached us inquiring if we needed assistance. Though the restaurant had not yet opened, he kindly spoke with the staff on our behalf. He invited us to sit in the charming, shaded courtyard. Which was perfect especially since we were accompanied by our sweet Boston Terrier. Our server Kameron was exceptional, attentive, knowledgeable, and delightful. She shared fascinating details about the historic buildings and their connection to the hotel, providing us with a booklet recounting the intriguing story of the Tallman family's legacy. Kameron also recommended the Blue Wings with a sweet-spicy Asian glaze as an appetizer. Without a doubt, the best chicken wings I have ever tasted! Her suggestion was spot on, and we thoroughly enjoyed them. My husband ordered the Fish & Chips, while I savored the Crispy Chicken Salad. Both dishes prepared to perfection. Our dog Winnie was treated to a generous beef dog patty. An impressive patty that left her a very happy girl. Our experience with Kameron truly made us fall in love with Tallman's. So much so that before leaving, I immediately made a reservation for July. The same courteous gentleman who initially greeted us was there to assist with this, offering to reserve a dinner reservation for the evening we arrive. He even offered to show us one of their dog-friendly Main Street Suites. The suite was absolutely stunning. The hospitality we received throughout our visit was exemplary. I am now more excited about our upcoming stay at Tallman's than even our planned trip to the beach house in Fort Bragg. Every member of the staff went above and beyond to ensure a memorable experience. I wholeheartedly recommend Blue Wing Saloon and the Tallman Hotel to anyone seeking outstanding service, exceptional food, and drinks!

It came with a HUGE side of potato salad that reminded me of my mom's ~ overall deliciousness. Today, I had a delicious eggs Benedict with a generous helping of country potatoes. I'm going to breakfast there tomorrow, too. The owners/waitstaff are lovely, cheerful, and friendly. The cafe is clean, prices are reasonable, AND they filter the chlorine from the drinking water ~ another plus! So far, the food has been above 'average', presents well upon serving, hitting the bells on color, texture, AND taste. Try it; I don't believe you'll have ANY regrets... Next day: Had the Mom's Omelet but requested Monterrey Jack cheese instead of Swiss. AGAIN, got fed a healthy, nutritious breakfast. I'm really impressed with this very welcoming and happy place. Coffee is good and they refilled my thermos with their filtered water, not available next door. I'll probably hit them up for a meal before I head back to Grass Valley tomorrow. A busy locals spot, we were not greeted walking in but grabbed a table and someone came over with menus a few minutes later and asked if we wanted coffee. About five or so minutes later another person stopped by our table to take our order. Our food arrived timely enough but was literally dropped off by another person with no interaction. Paper menus were well used. After looking it over I went for the Dads favorite omelet, with applewood smoked chicken sausage, mushrooms and onions, jack and cheddar. Hashbrowns and toast on the side. I also had the Caesar salad with chicken. You can tell a great Caesar by the quality of the dressing. It was thick and creamy and coats each piece of Romaine lettuce nicely. I have no doubt the croutons were homemade. Love places that give lemon wedges with the salad. Everything I ate was delicious. The service from the staff was also excellent.
