After confirming what services I wanted (gel manicure and Refresh pedicure), I was shown gel colors along the wall to choose from. Feeling like something different today, I opted to get catseye gel polish. After picking my color, my nail technician started my manicure. She asked me what shape I wanted and there was a handy sheet that showed the different shapes - I opted for my regular square with rounded edges. She cut, filed and shaped them - but they weren't exactly the shape I wanted. It was close enough, so I just went with it. My nails turned out okay - the catseye color was pretty and I liked the look of it. The massage was good. However, the shape and application of polish needed some work. Overall - it just felt rushed. I was then shown to my pedicure station and someone else worked on my toes. The pedicure went fine, the colors chosen were pretty and everything went okay. Again, I enjoyed the massage and was able to relax. However, at the end, I was left at the station and my technician walked away. I assumed I was to wait for a while while my nails dried since I got regular polish on my toes. This would have been fine, but my technician never came back to check on my toes or tell me when I could leave. After half an hour, I checked my toes and tried to make eye contact so she could come back. After another 10 mins of sitting and trying to get her attention, she came back and I asked if I was good to leave. Overall, the 1st nail technician and owner(?) was welcoming when I came in. I liked the color that I got on my nails, but would prefer a different shape and a thinner application of polish. It ended up lifting within a week and peeling off after a week and a half. 2nd technician who did my toes was efficient, but I would have liked some communication about how long to wait and coming back to check on my toes. I will go back and try one more time as my friends highly recommend one of the technicians.

I went home upset and washed my feet immediately with soap and water. I work in healthcare and am well educated on sanitation and infection control. It's very difficult to find a nail salon that complies and often there is a communication issue. I thought this salon was a winner and I have been coming here for years. Well...just a week ago I've been noticing pain in my big toe. Itchiness at the border and pain and tingling on my big toe penetrating into my foot and ankle. I felt the need to see the doctor and he questioned if the technician cut at an angle causing an ingrown toenail or pushed too harshly. I am now doing Epsom salt soaks and prescribed an antibiotic, bactrim. It is difficult to find a nail salon where you feel safe in and I thought I found the place. The blood on the towel was enough of a red flag for me to question their cleanliness especially when blood borne pathogens are transmissible in a nail salon. No one wants to get a disease in exchange for pretty nails or a nail infection. Now with this constant nail pain I will not return and cannot recommend this salon anymore. :(
