They have a cute little waiting area to the right when you walk in and have water bottle and tea to offer. We had the two people room for the Back, Shoulder and Head massage for 50 minutes. Good service and no massage is ever long enough. But this focused area felt really good. The masseuse asked about her pressure and was attentive to making sure I was comfortable and relaxed. She used a warm towel that felt so good to wipe down/off the lotion, and I had about a 15 minute time on my back. Oh, and they did a great job taking an appointment leas than 24 hours. I booked the velvet head spa signature 80 minute promotion. I got there on time and the therapist was 10 minutes late before I was put in the room and after disrobing and getting on the table 15 more minutes passed by so my service actually started at 25 minutes past the hour. But I was in the hair drying room at 20 past the next hour so I was actually only in the massage room for 40 minutes. Even though it's advertised as 80. I was actually out the door in my car in less than 80 minutes. I guess the hair drying is part of the 80 minutes, but my hairdryer did not even take 40 minutes. You never know what to do in these situations. I didn't want to leave this review and I thought long and hard about it because it was almost a month ago. I've been going to Velvet Head Spa now for the past year and I have to say it is definitely worth it. At first I was apprehensive, since it sounded like just a regular wash and blowout that you would just get at a typical hair salon, but it is so much more than that. When you first come in, they have an endoscope that is used to do a scalp evaluation as well as a before and after. You can see all the buildup from hair products that are left on the hair follicle as well as your scalp condition (dry/oily). As a person who uses a lot of hair products, it was interesting to see what is still leftover on your hair over time even when washing at home. Then you are taken to a private room where they will exfoliate, shampoo and condition your hair. I have tried several hair specialists and I would have to say Suzie has been my favorite and now my only go-to person. She is very thorough and makes the experience super relaxing. I have fallen asleep during the treatment several times. Whatever products they use, it feels very refreshing. In the middle of treatment, you get a neck and shoulder massage as well while whatever product they use settles in. Suzie uses the perfect amount of pressure and knows the points to hit. I like my massages on the heavier side so I'm glad she doesn't do just a rub down. After everything is washed off, you go to get your hair blow dried. My scalp feels so nice and clean after, you can definitely tell the difference once your hair is all dried. My hair felt like it had bounce again, and this is coming from someone who has long thick hair. Afterwards, you have your scalp evaluated again with the endoscope to see the results. I really wanted to like this place. It is aesthetic and cute but doesn't make up for the bad. After seeing it all over tik tok I had high expectations. Unfortunately all the reviews are probably from influencers that had free services because my experience was awful. I booked the 90 minute scalp/massage/facial package. They only spent 15 minutes washing my hair and 30 minutes of the worst massage I've ever had that consisted of rubbing lotion on my arms and chest... strange. I thought I would be getting a scalp massage and treatment but I sadly didn't. She was about to start my facial when I noticed she hadn't washed her hands after putting lotion on my body and touching my hair. After finding out they are not licensed estheticians I asked her not to do the facial since that is really unsanitary. They could only offer me $20 back out of $180 for removing the facial which also was disappointing. My friends wanted try head spa we decided to give this spot a try. Would say that overall had an OK experience and personally don't recommend it as I didn't feel like it was worth the price. We made an 1:30pm appointment, but when we arrived, the staff insisted that our appointment was at 1:15 and said that it's OK that we can get started right away anyways. There seemed to be some confusion right off the bat when we arrived for our appointment. The staff then led us into a room to use a tool to show us the conditions of the scalp. This was all good but I was just slightly concerned that they just used the tool from person to person without any kind of cleaning or sanitization of the tool. There were minimal instructions when they brought us into the rooms, and even though we were supposed to choose between basic or deep scalp based on the online appointment system, it seems like the staff didn't know what treatments we're getting and also didn't ask us which one we wanted so I didn't end up getting a choice. What I really want to review was what happened at the end of my last service. While laying in a blissful state of relaxation I was suddenly jolted awake by a forceful BONK on the top of my head. It's clear they don't know how to care for textured hair at all. The products and techniques they used were not suited for my hair type, and to make things worse, they clearly had no idea how to properly blow dry textured hair--it only added to the damage. If you have dry, curly, or textured hair, avoid this place. They are not trained or equipped to handle it, and your hair will pay the price. I had a 4:30pm appointment today for the 90-minute session that included upper back, scalp, and facial work. I arrived about 15 minutes early and was the only client there. The person at the front (possibly the owner) checked me in, showed me a live video of my scalp with a tablet, asked a few questions, and then showed me to my room. The technician came in after I was already lying down, so there wasn't really any introduction, which felt a little awkward. The session started with about 20 minutes of upper back massage, but it was mostly deep trigger point work -- not relaxing -- and she wore gloves with very little lotion, which made it uncomfortable. From there, she moved into a combination of facial and scalp work. I expected something more like an upper back/shoulder and facial massage, but instead it felt like a mini facial. She never explained what products she was using or asked about sensitivities. From what I could tell, she double cleansed, applied a mask, and finished with serum and moisturizer. While the mask was on, she started the scalp "massage," but I'd describe it more as a vigorous scrub. She wore gloves for this part too, and it actually hurt -- my scalp isn't particularly sensitive, but it was painful and not relaxing. My hair kept snagging on the gloves, and there was no soothing element to balance it out. Even though I booked a 90-minute session, everything wrapped up by 5:40 (about 70 minutes total), and I was taken to another room for a rough blow dry. I was in my car driving home by 5:55pm. To be fair, the space itself is gorgeous -- clean, modern, and beautifully decorated. But overall, the experience didn't come close to matching the price tag ($168 even after a 30% discount). If you're looking for relaxation or a true massage, I'd honestly recommend just booking a regular massage and asking for extra scalp focus. I finally had the opportunity to try this place out. I scheduled my appointment about two months ahead of time, as it was the soonest appointment available. I received a text a couple of days before informing me that my appointment time was changed. It was about a 30 minute difference, but I was still able to attend. The day of my appointment, I got to the spa and was seated for about twenty minutes before someone came over with an iPad to check out my scalp. I really didn't get a lot of information besides that I had some product build up. It was also a super Quick Look with little explanation. I got the 60 minute getaway scalp and facial with Nina. I was asked to undress from the waist up and get into the bed. It was a heated bed which felt amazing! The lights were dimmed which made it feel more relaxing. Nina started off with a neck and shoulder massage which I really enjoyed and liked! The facial really didn't do much for me. It felt like a cheaper mask, not sure exactly what it was but I wouldn't get it again. I also got a brief scalp massage, and a lot of shampooing. I personally didn't enjoy this part too much because the water tickled me. Once finished, you walk to a different room to dry your hair. She started off by brushing it from the top to the bottom which I did not enjoy because she didn't get the knots out first. It also took a really long time to dry it, and when I left, she had still left it somewhat damp. Much like everyone else, I became obsessed with the idea of a scalp treatment after seeing it on TikTok. Booking the appointment online was easy. I chose the 60 Minute Deep Scalp Therapy, which came with a 20% discount (originally $160, down to $128). When I arrived, I got checked in right away. The interior had a nice vibe, with minimal decor but lots of plants. The scalp assessment was super quick and not very detailed. It was cool to see a close-up view of my scalp, but I only saw two small areas, and there wasn't much analysis beyond "here's the dry skin and sebum". After this, I was taken to the individual room to start the actual treatment. My only complaint is that I wish they actually walked you through the different steps. Afterwards, I had to look back at the website description of the service to figure out what I'd had done. Otherwise though, the treatment was very relaxing and felt great. The scalp massage was super nice, the products smelled good, and the time flew by. Afterwards, they showed me a close-up of my scalp again, and it really did look better. The blow-dry portion of the service was just a rough dry, as the website had said. They also had a Yelp Check-In offer for 10% off, but that couldn't be combined with the 20% off discount I had booked with. Did a group booking here as a spa day with friends and had an overall great experience. Upon entering we were offered a selection of drinks before going into a different waiting room for a scalp analysis. Since we were a group of 5, 2 of us were able to be share a room while the remaining 3 were in individual rooms. Typically I would expect a bath robe or a bath body wrap to be in the rooms, but there were none (maybe they ran out or were in laundry). It was a little awkward for me with a jank tucked bra under the sheets since they sit you up at the end for a wake up massage. Apart from that, I really like the idea of a facial and a mask marinating on your face while the scalp treatment is being done! I generally felt relaxed but there were a few times a little too much water got in my ears which kept me a bit alert. At the end of the treatment, we were offered a variety of drinks again while our hair got dried and straightened with the dryer. I definitely noticed all the shine in my hair and my friends' hair at the end along with the difference in our scalp cleanliness with the end analysis comparison! I'm really disappointed with my experience at this spa. I went with my best friend on Thanksgiving day for the deep scalp therapy. When I booked the service, they were offering a 15% discount, but when I received the confirmation email the day before Thanksgiving, it only listed a 10% discount. I tried calling them the morning of the appointment, but no one answered, so I sent a text and never got a response. When we arrived at the spa, I mentioned the issue to the receptionist, who acknowledged my text and said they'd address it after the service. After the treatment, I asked why we only received 10% off instead of the promised 15%. The receptionist told me the promotion had changed, but when I showed the email confirming the 15%, the receptionist became visibly annoyed and said, "I'm just working." After some back-and-forth, we were finally given the 15% off, but the whole interaction felt unprofessional. What frustrated me even more was the lack of expertise with curly hair. When it was time to blow-dry, I asked if they had a diffuser to dry my hair, and they assured me they did. However, they used a regular blow dryer, which caused my hair to become frizzy and puffy. I asked them to stop and get me a spray bottle so I could wet my hair, use my own products, and let it air-dry. I was excited to check this place out after hearing about it from a friend! I came in for a deep scalp treatment which I assumed would be more of a relaxing experience based on what I had read. Unfortunately it was less of a massage/relaxing moment and more of washing and scratching my scalp? The products they used smelled nice atleast. I will say the service itself was good, everyone who worked with us was kind. I do wish they could've provided information on recommendations based on what they find in their evaluation of my scalp. I didn't entirely see the purpose of the close up camera on my scalp. Overall a new experience that I'm glad I tried but I likely won't be coming back. read more

Totally worth it! I came for a Mother-Daughter spa date. We each got the "60 Minute Getaway (Basic Scalp Care + Facial Massage)" - $128. It started with a scalp analysis and then we moved into the private rooms for the actual treatment. The facial and scalp care were so soothing. I loved everything - from the scents (citrus & clean) to the massage and ESPECIALLY the blowout at the end! I cannot express how different my hair felt - so light and healthy. I pride myself on my hair care but this took it to a new level. The staff were very kind and very professional. The spa/office was decorated for Valentine's Day but all in all it was a cute setup. Lastly, I love how late they stay open! Not many hair salons/ spas stay open late so it was nice to have our appointment in the evening to help us wind down from the day. My cousins and I wanted to see what the hype was about so we booked an appointment for 4. We thought they'd be able to accommodate us altogether, but our group was split into 2 individual rooms and 1 couple's room. I opted to go to solo and before my treatment began, I was given a scalp analysis. They handed me an iPad and used a pen like camera to zoom into my scalp. The camera was used on a previous client and she had wiped the lens with an already used wipe. As far as cleanliness goes, there could definitely be more rigor around this process as it went from head to head and cleaned with the one same wipe. I also felt like I wasn't given much info on my scalp health. I had no idea what I was looking at/for. It was super short, and the analysis lasted no more than 2 minutes. - Facial I was then brought to the treatment room where the first 30 min or so was spent on my facial. She cleaned my face with a scrub, did a pressure point massage and finished off with a serum coupled with cold rollers. This felt so nice and reduced the puffiness! She also finished the facial with sunscreen and moisturizer. While the facial was amazing, I wish she had given more information as to what was being used and ask if I had any product sensitivity. Some serums did tingle a bit and it would've been helpful to know what was in them. - Scalp Treatment The scalp treatment began with a pre-rinse with warm water followed by shampoo. I thought I'd be getting more of a head massage but this felt more like scratching throughout the treatment. The water temperature was also inconsistent and often went from lukewarm to hot. Not to mention, there was this odd sound of birds chirping every now and then that kept me from relaxing. This treatment was also super fast, it was shampoo, and leave in conditioner and then a rinse. I was then instructed to put on my clothes and meet her outside for a blow dry. They use Dyson hair dryers which is a plus, but if you're expecting a decent blow dry and style, this isn't it. My hair is still damp as we speak. I was given a scalp analysis afterwards again idk if the camera was cleaned. All in all, this was a decent experience. It's one of those things that you do once and probably won't do again. I will say that everyone we interacted with is super nice and accommodating, but service wise, I've scratched that itch. read more
