I can't speak for everything on the menu but their smoothies are very good and the people that I have met who work here have all seemed very friendly. I really like the coffee date smoothie. If you like coffee this is the one for you. Juice alchemy is good, but not the best. I've had a couple of their drinks and thought they were ok. The coffee one is the best I've had so far but I wish they had bigger straws because the date pieces get stuck. Parking is not ideal but you can usually find something on the street over. read more

First off, the person working there today on 9/6 was doing it all solo! There were like 5-7 people waiting for their items and the person was so nice and kept it together without frustration. Cute place with a nice ray of sun coming in, we enjoyed sitting inside with our breakfast. I saw two people working, and they were extremely busy. I saw a steady flow of customers coming in while we were eating. We ordered a bagel and açaí bowl. The bagel was tasty, but it's not anything special, I wouldn't necessarily crave this bagel. The açaí bowl had a nice amount of fruit that I enjoyed, but I wasn't a fan of the frozen hard açaí smoothie. It was rock hard, and I had a hard time scooping it up. It made me wonder how many days they had this frozen for, but I know this is preference. I saw other customers ordered freshly squeezed juices, and they looked really good! I'm obsessed with the Vanilla Kale smoothie... my favorite out of any smoothie place in the area. I order without agave, and it's not overly sweet which is purrrfect. I always thought avocado toast was an overrated fad - until I tried their avo toast with egg salad. And I don't even like egg salad!!! Tried it and mind blown. Super filling too. I really like that the menu is simple but well put together. Fast and reasonably priced for the quality. Their juices are great too. This place makes me so happy!! :) read more

This was my first time at Juice Alchemy, I had the avocado toast with egg salad and it was so bomb. I feel like avocado toast is usually over priced, but I would spend all my money on this toast over and over again. The tomatoes, kale, and avocado were fresh and super yummy. I've been coming in here the past couple of months and have loved their date smoothie and avocado toast with egg salad. Yesterday, I placed an order over the phone and the employee (didn't catch her name) was rude and short over the phone. I figured it was because they were supposed to close in 30 minutes, so I reassured her I would be there very soon and well before closing. I arrived at 3:45 (15 minutes before closing) to pick up the order and she informed me that she was out of egg salad for my toast and wanted to know if hard boiled egg was okay. I politely declined and ask if she could make the other avocado, turkey bacon toast instead. She said she already had started the other toast (just bread and avocado behind her) and refused to make any other kind. Because she was being so rude and was clearly extremely put out that I came in to pick up my order at the end of business hours (NOT after), I politely told her I would pass and on my way out she asked "you don't want the smoothie?" with extreme attitude at which point I told her no. I left and could hear her yelling at me all the way to my car. Extremely rude. Completely unprofessional. Clearly did not want to be there. read more

Came here 2 mornings in a row because their healthy options are THAT good. The first day I had an Açaí Bowl and the avocado toast, both were delicious! They add a bit of extra virgin olive oil, kale, tomatoes, hemp & chia seeds to the toast and it's fantastic! The açaí bowl was presented nicely with loads of superfood toppings. They also offer a gluten free granola which is great! The second day I had the avocado toast again and instead of an açaí bowl, one of the owners suggested I try a 1/2 & 1/2 bowl of Pitaya and activated charcoal. I'm glad I did! I was in the area and very happy to find a place to get an acai bowl right around the corner before my study group. The woman who took my order was very kind and helpful! She even gave me a sample of a smoothie that was so good! The bowl itself was excellent, good mix of acai and pitaya. The granola, and coconut and berries were in good proportion to the acai pitaya blend and it had a great serving of peanut butter! This spot is nearby work, but hadn't tried it until the other day. I had dental work done that required a liquid lunch (that couldn't include alcohol unfortunately) so I figured I'd give it a shot. The young man working the shop recommended a couple of things for my predicament, which was nice. I went with the Bear Paw smoothie because of the nutrients I could get out of it and it sounded pretty tasty. I was extremely pleased with my choice. It was absolutely delicious and quite filling. The flavor combination was really good and you could taste the freshness of the ingredients. I'll definitely be frequenting this shop for liquid lunches, even when I've got my ability to chew back. However, I'm a tough sell when it comes to anything for / juice or food related. Primarily because I've worked in the industry for over 30 years and have taught juicing classes before it was a thang to do. I ordered the Detox juice (16oz =$8.00) and the taste and texture were fine as were the amount of each vegetable. So they do know how to blend properly. Yet nowhere did it state that their juices were organic--so maybe they are or are not. Their prices far exceed industry standards. Their ingredients were fresh and they also were willing to add/modify ingredients for my food preferences and allergies. I had some time before my facial to finally visit this place highly regarded in Banker's hill. Street parking is available so plan on taking a nice walk in the area while enjoying your refreshments. The drink selection was unimpressive because I prefer smoothies with a lot of greens. Yes, there are juices with the greens, but I do not like to miss out on the fiber benefits of the smoothie form. The only green smoothie that appealed to me was the Vanilla Kale. I like bananas but I felt that the banana to kale ratio was too much; and therefore, my smoothie was too sweet. However, the smoothie did have a velvety texture to it, so the drink was not too icy nor too watered down. I suggest they offer better paleo and/or gluten free pastries. read more

The staff are friendly and the drinks are delicious! My favorite is the Island Smoothie as well as the Banana Boat, but that one is better with light agave and adding chocolate chips! The protein balls are yummy as well. The ambiance is ok inside, but the chairs and the shade outside is nice. The neighborhood is so cute! Just left this place because the lady working told me they were closed. There was a customer standing in the doorway waiting on her order. I went to the counter where I was greeted by an "Oh" instead of "hello". I asked for 2 Power Hours and was then told they were closed. I said "you don't close until 4:00". Keep in mind the OPEN sign was also still on in the window. I was then told that she could make me a smoothie because she had already broken down the juice machine. I asked why would she do that since they didn't close until 4:00. She told me that she had a rush, as she poured the customers green juice. I don't understand how she had time to break down machines if she had a rush. I got frustrated and told her never mind and I am going to another location. I know enough about restaurants and food establishments to know that if the staff does not feel like cooking/juicing etc., it transfers into the food or whatever they're preparing. My juice would have negative energy in it and I definitely did not need that in my body. The Owner should state a cutoff time for taking orders and post it in the window and on the website so that customers know we can't order at 3:50pm. read more

I am almost mad because a 16 oz is $7.75 which feels STEEP, but I get it--ingredients are pricy, times are tough, small businesses gotta make a buck, so I won't hold it against them (same complaint goes to hours of operation--not open too early or late). THE BANANA BOAT IS THE BEST SMOOTHIE IN EXISTENCE. I could end the review right there and will have said it all, but I'll continue expressing my love. It's peanut buttery (or you can get a different nut butter if you like/need), banana-y, and has nice spices and is just UNREAL. I wish I had the recipe so I could have it at all times. I will say the ambiance is bright and open and sweet, and the decor is fitting for it. The staff are super friendly and helpful, and their offerings are all really enticing. My beloved colleague is a regular here and taught me about the banana boat, now I am addicted to it. He also swears by their fruit sandwiches which look GOOD, and this salad thing that I still don't know what it is but it looks great and healthy and he is a radiant human so probably we all should be more like him. Coming here after/before a Balboa park stroll or day in Hillcrest or just to stop by for the world's best smoothie is a perfect excuse. I work for a company that is very health centric that empowers people to make some serious life changing decisions eg. stop smoking, control the ever present Type 2 Diabetes which is plaguing this country. My colleagues and I tired of trekking to 7/11 trolling for Health Centric drinks, although haters that we are, we love our 7/11 Crew over there on Fifth next to the Jimmy Carter's but hey, that's another review to script!!! I went into this place, first of all, I like the decor and the friendly guy behind the counter. Over the places where they whiff their own farts come on this isn't San Francisco and even San Francisco isn't San Francisco any more. It's simply beautiful and it smells like goat bootie and organic veggies. (I love goats by the way does that make me weird?) I had a delicious heart healthy green drink which I completely enjoyed. I gagged at the price of 7.50 something but once a week won't break me. They have other delicious smoothies and stuff that you can blend from your yard if you have one , but what I drank was quite delightful. Now if I can get the sick (cold and flu wise) mo fo's I work with to get their rear's in here to get a green drink I would be happy. Sick of being sick. Great juice! There are a few other juice bars in the area...but this spot is the best. Great service and a great product. I have tried the Sweet Greens and the Vincent Van Go-Gogh. I drink two per day M-F. They always ask if I am a fan of ginger just in case. I have not had a smoothie here. read more
