My husband and I have incorporated a lot of juicing into our lives since last summer. But, you know, sometimes you just want someone else to make your juice for you. I've been here twice to get Beet Me Up juices and they are great. Last time I tried an acai bowl, but it just doesn't hold a candle to Vitality Bowls, so those are *meh*. They have an oatmeal bar in the morning and one of the cashiers told me you can customize your juice and they'll make whatever you want. I wish they were open a little later, but they said it's dead in downtown Pleasanton after 5pm, so they close early. Disappointed by the hours and the lackluster acai bowls, but love the juice, so this gets an A-OK with me! read more

Everyone's been talking about super foods and eating those Acai bowls, so this morning I decided to give one a try. It was basically composed of a frozen acai juice blend topped with granola, finely shredded coconut and banana slices. It came in a very small cup and literally only contained a teaspoon of granola and even less coconut. I think this is something fairly easy to make at home so I probably wouldn't go back and pay $5.95 + tax for this again. It was an OK, quick and filling snack after walking around the farmer's market on a warm morning though. Service was good. My friend ordered a smoothie also $5.95. I'm only basing this review on their ACAI BOWLS. I'm a true lover of acai bowls and I have to say this place does not make PURE acai bowls. I was really disappointed. Either than that, the place seems cute and comfortable and I'm sure the rest of their food/drinks are good. read more

This is my go to place for when I need my green juice fix. The employees here are fantastic and always remember my order. LOL. You really can't go wrong with any of the juices or smoothie choices (I know that probably doesn't help narrow down your choice). If you're feeling under the weather or having soup, go for the chicken udon soup (there is a veggie only option). I lovvvveee the udon soup. Even when the weather was 90+ degrees I was craving the soup. If you're in a rush I suggest calling ahead to make the soup since it is made to ordee. It's worth teh wait even if you don't call ahead. read more

Love this place! They have smoothies (purple poodle is my fave), coffee drinks, salads, sandwiches, bakery items, even gluten free. Their salads and sandwiches are always wonderful with high quality ingredients for a super affordable price. As an example, I had an awesome salad today.. Occasionally on Saturdays i like to go to the farmers market in Pleasanton and this spot is just along the main rode where the market runs. I have only tried their Vanilla honey latte and it is very tasty if I must say so myself. They are really good at managing lines and quickly helping customers and getting their drinks out. The staff here are so nice and helpful. Many of my coworkers go here on a regular basis. They have a variety of drinks my favorite is the Peach Peach. They make some pretty good blended coffees and the oatmeal bar is delicious. If you are looking for some good food and drinks stop by. read more

I really like their smoothies here because they are a healthy alternative and many are dairy free, but they are very inconsistent. Sometimes they are runny, sometimes thick. The flavors are also not consistent. Just wish I could get the same smoothie every time. I recently purchased my own Vitamix so that I didn't have to go to this place to get what I wanted anymore. Most of the staff is very unfriendly, and often dressed very unprofessional...even for this type of setting (baggy tank top that shows side of bra, baggy short sweatpants...looked like she just rolled out of bed and came to work). Whenever I ask for something more personalized for my smoothie, every single worker (except for one very sweet girl!) that I have dealt with has seemed annoyed...and i'm pretty sure I have dealt with everyone that works there. And then to top it off they use their bare hands to handle fruit and veggies that go into my smoothie. Gross!! Most times that I get a smoothie here, I walk out frustrated. Things they need to improve: -Smoothies that are consistent, everytime!! -Hire new workers...they are so rude! -Clean up the place and the employees...very unprofessional. I don't plan on returning here unless I am dying of thirst at the farmers market. And even then I'm not sure I want to fork out $6 for an inconsistent smoothie made by messy, rude, unprofessional workers. read more

This place is merely "okay." I work nearby, so I do tend to go here more often than I would even like to admit.. But lately it seems to be going pretty downhill after the switch of ownership. The basics: The juices and smoothies are your best bet. Typically pretty consistent and well made. Sandwiches tend to be more of what you could make at home with simple things that you probably have on hand for 1/4 of the price. The milk tea with boba is completely flavorless and I ended up dumping the whole thing out right after the first sip. Acai bowls are always hit or miss. The employees are always really kind, but the service can be devastatingly slow.. So don't come if you're in any sort of rush. They don't stay open for the posted hours, multiple times they have closed early for no reason other than what I'm suspecting is slow business. If you're looking for a refreshing healthy juice and you're willing to spend 6-9 dollars for it, this is your place. Anything else I would recommend looking elsewhere. read more

This is a great place!!! A one of a kind, must try! The signature purple poodle is yummy and a tasty treat!! The green isle is also a fabulous recommendation. Love birds is tasty!!! The menu is creative and nutritious. The smoothies taste healthy without additives. Conveniently located downtown Pleasanton. Customer service was excellent, the overall feel of the place was clean and fresh. The atmosphere is lovely, warm and welcoming as well as dog friendly. I run a local business downtown and have frequented Juice & Java since it first opened. Original owner Angela was great and built a nice brand, reputation and experience. Early this year she sold the business. I have continued to frequent but now am concerned that new ownership forgot some basics around customer experience. Sadly, profit trumped people today. This place is absolutely a fraud. I'm from Santa Barbara and I am completely experienced with the whole organic Acai Bowl, and what is required to make a good blend. Today I walked in and asked if they were using organic acai, because the sign says that they offer organic (when in season). Anyway, I asked if it was in season, and the cashier responded, "Well Ya, I mean it's from Brazil and it's wildly grown there, so yes it's organic". Unfortunately, even the possible owner (???) doesn't even know what organic means.... then, my mom who is an avid home juicer, walked in a few hours later and asked for the Fresh Grow Tall Green Juice, she proceeded to watch the woman pour some strange juice from a tupperware and then blend the ingredients in a vita-mixer....when she had ordered she assumed it would be actual fresh juice, and not from a Tupperware saved from god know's when. Moral of the story if you want to get a blended juice or a acai bowl, save the frustration and just take your business to the local jamba juice. read more

I'm giving it 5 stars just for the "honor" coffee system. What's a great idea! You put $2 in a piggy jar, serve yourself coffee and go! No standing in a line just to get a cup of brewed coffee. There are other great reasons to love this place too. The smoothies are so yummy and good for you!! I've tried the "Dragonfly" (great!) and the "Green Isle" which has spinach in it (what a great way to hide veggies in a drink!). I've also had the green salad with mandarin oranges, almonds, cucumbers, tomatoes with a blueberry vinaigrette dressing (who makes dressing with blueberries!?). It was really good. The portions are appropriate and the ingredients are fresh and organic. This is the place to go to get something quick, healthy and delicious to eat/drink. Tomorrow morning I'm going to try the oatmeal. There's a bar set up with toppings you choose yourself. What a breath of fresh air this place is. It's just what downtown Pleasanton needed. read more
