I came here in the morning for a breakfast smoothie bowl and also picked up one of their baked donuts (which were very low calorie but also incredibly delicious). The staff were friendly and tried their best but even though I had asked for no starfruit in my order they still gave me starfruit and also didn't give blueberries... hence the 4 stars. The cup is around a medium size cup...I think. The muffin was pretty good too. Nice and moist! But if you're into the sweet muffins, this may not be your cup of tea (o think 290 calories). There's also a fridge with food and what not too if you need some substance in the tummy. In total it came out to be $11.11. Not a cheap purchase for a smoothie and muffin. I have tried their Juice for a Day cleanse juices and their protein smoothie -- so far the juice has been fresh, healthy, and tastes pretty darn good! Located right next to my gym (24 Hour Fitness), it's a great place to grab a protein smoothie or just some cleansing juice on days that I want to be a little more healthy. They really do use fresh ingredients -- you can see all of their rows of fresh vegetables stacked right behind the counter and I love that! It's good to know they're not hiding anything (no artificial flavors) and genuinely giving you what you pay for. JUICE FOR A DAY REVIEW: First -- you really can't live off of these juices for a day. As much as I enjoyed them, they're just not enough to sustain a person for a full day. I understand juice cleanses, but I'm a healthy young woman and by 4:00 (about the time to have my 4th/5th juice) I was so exhausted, light-headed, and my head hurt. Just know that you should probably keep these juices for just drinking them as juices, not meals. The QUALITY of the juices was great! Really delicious and nutritious, but just know that you probably can't solely live off of these unless you want to almost pass out. SMOOTHIE REVIEW: Made really well with real ingredients! I loved the protein smoothie and got it with whey protein and almond milk -- it's a great after-workout booster! Wasn't feeling well and thought a juice might head off any illness. Was excited to see this right near where I got off the train for work. 7:45 AM. Walk in the door and the MUSIC IS BLARING. My favorite smoothie here is the Mucho Mango smoothie, but it's also because I love mangoes. I also don't like nut butters, chocolate, coffee, etc in my smoothies because I feel like I'm drinking a milkshake at that point. The smoothies are $7-8 which is average for midtown east, but I believe this is on the lower end of the spectrum because places like Liquiteria and Juice Press charge a little more I believe, like up to $10 sometimes. The wait at this location is super long though because it's popular. I've gone during the 8-9am rush before work as well as at 10am, when I thought it would be quieter but it wasn't. I want to try their juices next but I finish juices pretty quickly since they're not as thick as smoothies, but Juice Generation's prices are also on the lower end of the spectrum for this area. Juice Generation is one of those places that you know you will feel great after leaving. It is filling, yet so nutritious. I have yet to try one of their actual juices because I am more of a chewing kind of girl, but one day I will. (And I am very excited for that day!!) My best friend and I both ordered acai bowls (pronounced: ah-sah-EE, which I had not known embarrassingly for a very long time!) Specifically, we ordered the Aloha Acai Bowl from Juice Generation and it was quite a delicious choice. This one contains the amazing combination of: acai, banana, almond milk, strawberries, pineapple, bee pollen, and hemp granola. YUM and extremely healthy. I am not one to go on the healthy side very often (OR EVER AT ALL) but acai bowls just taste so damn good. I do usually add a scoop of peanut butter for that extra yummy taste. Now, don't think acai bowls have no calories. They actually contain 500 calories give or take 100 more- depending what is inside. However, all of these ingredients are good for the body and the brain (probably, even the soul at this point!) Juice Generation can be found all over Manhattan- with one location in Brooklyn and Long Island City. Must Do: Add as much fruit as possible- I personally think that blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, and blackberries taste better with acai. So pretty much add any berry you can get your hands on. I always add one little extra scoop of peanut butter. If you still need a little more taste or crunch, add more hemp granola. It had been five years since my last NYC visit and I needed a little detox from all the gorging I had been doing the past few days. Yelpers did not lead me astray. I past another juice establishment on my trek to Juice Generation. I peered inside the larger business and there was only one customer and none of the juices looked good to me. Then I arrive here and the line is basically out the door. We wait for a customer to leave before entering. They have a variety of juices, smoothies and açaí bowls. I was looking to find a good acai bowl, and someone recommended me Juice Generation in 52nd street & Lexington Ave, so I finally tried it for a long time. I ordered watermelon smoothie and peanut butter acai and wow it's so good. Their smoothies are really good because most smoothies place ok but this is the best so far. It's a bit expensive but it was worth for the first time. I don't know why I waited so long for because this is getting popular recently. My first order was PB acai since I'm a peanut butter lover lol so why not try it. I'm definitely coming here again and is my new favorite store when I'm around the area. Excellent selection of food and drinks, the best acai bowls I've had (far superior in quality, taste, and appearance to Juice Press), amazing service, high quality ingredients that simply feel healthy, and frankly awesome music in the store (lots of early 80s NYC old school rap, which I never thought I would like so much). I will often go there and pick up not only a smoothie but also a new song for my MP3 (apparently the music is the owner's personal selection). This is a review on their açaí bowls (specifically the aloha açai bowl): In a nutshell, NOT WORTH IT. You would think for about $12 after tax (aka more expensive than an actual meal), they would be a little generous with the portions - nope - or it would at least be tasty - nope. It was so small, probably just a tad bigger than a parfait. I tasted more coconut milk than açaí in my aloha açaí bowl. I hardly tasted the açaí flavor at all. When you get an acai bowl, you expect it to be refreshing and tart. But nope. The texture was also very soupy. The toppings were not the best quality either. The strawberries could've been more fresh, the pineapple was mostly pieces from the core, the macadamia nut had a bitterness that did not pair well with the rest of the bowl. It is clean, relatively large with maybe room for 5 people or so to eat along the window and the prices seem to be the best in the area for what you get. Juice Generation has great juices and smoothies. I have tried the "I Love Watermelon" smoothie which includes blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, and watermelon. It is excellent. As for acai bowls, it is a rip off. I ordered the "Aloha Acai" which is acai, almond milk, bee pollen, banana, hemp granola, pineapples, and strawberries. It is not terrible but I am not impressed. It is one of the smaller bowls I have seen in the city and the toppings are sparse. On the other hand, it is one of the more expensive bowls at about $11. I definitely recommend the smoothies. However, I would not get an acai bowl here unless you are really craving a bowl around 53rd Street and Lexington Avenue because there are no other bowls near the area. This place has ruined me, I can never make a juice at home again because they are just so good here! I love the taste of all of them, except "the professional" but I drink that when I have abused my body and need a detox. Unlike other juice places they fresh press the juice for you, but you can get pre-made juices if you are in a rush. But I always wait since they are super fast at making the juice.
