I ordered my drink online, got there promptly and rang the bell on the pickup order window 3x, knocked twice, rang the bell one last time - all over the span of 5 minutes. I waited til I could hear no one using a blender to make sure they could hear. I had no choice but to wait in the normal line -- all the while, the smoothie that was probably made 20 minutes again is melting. It's Memorial Day Weekend. How is there only one person staffed to take orders, handout the drinks and take phone orders. Btw, if you have a line backed up and queued online orders, I think you should help the people who are in the store waiting, vs. take on more phone orders. The point of the pickup experience is to optimize the waiting experience and make it so that customers know where to go to get what they ordered. I recommend just going and waiting in line so that you don't end up losing time waiting in line anyway, only to receive a melted nut butter smoothie - yuck. read more

I only knocked one star because it's pricey! It definitely breaks the bank if you are a regular. I love that Austin has so many locations! The staff is friendly, unique and great at recommending suggestions and really represent the brand of the company. Here's my favs and they offer unsweetened almond milk: For drinks -wundershowzen -originator except I sub the apple juice with almond milk. If you leave the Apple juice it tastes similar to peanut butter and jelly. -triple double except they added strawberries to help the protein flavor not stand out as much -hands down, moon tower is my top choice. No patrons in sight. Bizarre for ACL. No response from Juiceland confirming order. Not bizarre for Juiceland. 2:24PM - arrive at Juiceland counter. "Hello! I sent a text in for an order but I'm not sure if it went through." "Yeah, looks like it's here but we didn't see it." (no apology) "Ah, ok. Maybe they should change the way these messages show up? This seems to happen a lot." "Yeah, it's just a matter of if we hear it. When that happens it's best to just call it in." (no apology) Queue stupification and awkward turtle silence. (halfway apology follows, along with a pretty solid Soul Boulder) Same EXACT thing happened on Saturday, and has happened many times in the past. "Is this wheatgrass free range??" I get it. But be like your nice coworkers, please! I enjoy buying from pleasant people. 2. Juiceland has highly inconsistent employees. The drinks are almost never the same from day to day. Sometimes the originator is nails, and sometimes there's so much apple juice I sprout diabetes from my orifices. One time I think a bowl of chalk fell into the blender. 3. Juiceland has highly inconsistent employees. Maybe this is an issue with management, or maybe the employees aren't following directions, but get rid of the text messaging system if it doesn't work. I used Juiceland for convenience and to save time. If I have to wait 10-15 minutes (or longer if it's on a weekend) because my drink doesn't get added to the queue, Juiceland is no longer a viable stop on the way to work. My success rate is probably 70%, which frankly sucks. I love local, but Juiceland hasn't been loving me back this year. Time to bust out the Vitamix. read more

Fresh Coconut water blended with banana & coconut meat, served in a coconut! Yeah. My favorite thing on the menu was made by a girl named Tamrah - It's the Ah I See, but she added pecan butter & coconut water. So Very Good. Yeah so what? Their smoothies are more expensive than Wholefoods' - but they have EVERYTHING! Awesome raw food snacks, locally made kombucha, literature, and pretty much anything that grows from a tree. And oh yeah - soul. A few things you should know - if you go in the really early morning hours there's a discount. There is also an all day discount to cyclists. AND All their plastic cups are made out of corn so they break down completely - you won't be putting another piece of plastic in the landfill - yay! read more

Yes, the Berried Alive is a delicious smoothie and I like to go to Daily Juice when my boss gives me gift cards because otherwise it's a little pricey for my budget. However, both times that I have gone to the location on South Austin the service girl behind the counter has really upset me (it has been the same each time). The first time, a couple weeks ago, I went and ordered the usual. A couple minutes later, the smoothie that I assumed was mine was out on the counter and I went to pick it up. I had already grabbed it when she informed me, in a way that could have been much nicer, that "um, that's not yours." At the other locations I have visited, there have been procedures in place to prevent this (taking down and calling out names), but since I didn't hear a name, I just assumed it was mine. She made me feel terrible!! Very uncomfortable. Today, I paid for my smoothie with a $5 gift card and a $5 bill. Now, I don't know exactly how much my smoothie actually cost because i did not receive a receipt and the clerk apparently forgot to even tell me verbally. The change she gave me was about 60 cents, but before I could say anything she was already on to the next customer. I waited for him to take his order and then asked her how much my smoothie had cost because I recalled giving her a five and the change was very off. She let me know that I gave her a $1 bill, and when I tried to insist that no, I gave her a five for sure, the look on her face told me I was wasting her time. For a moment I thought I was mistaken, but she was not even willing to give me the benefit of the doubt. I was so upset I couldn't even talk, so I left without talking to a manager, something a won't do again. Peter P. was wanting some fresh squeezed juice today so I suggested Daily Juice and he graciously offered to pay for my juice since I make him workout harder than he would without me! I asked him to order me the 12 oz Barton Springs (carrot, beet, spinach, kale and wheat grass) it tasted just as healthy as it sounds. Peter took a swig and said it was like his first taste of whiskey and I was afraid he was going to vomit. Apparently fresh squeezed greens are an acquired taste. I love the atmosphere here: the beach-side juice bar window feel of the shop inside and the quirky garden seating outside. I've tried the Hydrator (watermelon juice, peach, & lemon... it was more peach and less watermelon than I wanted it to be), the Valley Girl (mmm so in-your-face fresh), the watermelon raspberry agua fresca (more raspberry and less watermelon than I wanted it to be), and my favorite so far, the Good Day (aloe, apple & blueberry). On the whole I think the drinks are pretty good. Not everything I've tried so far has knocked my socks off, but the menu is so large, there are plenty more chances for this place to impress me. They're definitely super fresh and healthful. Maybe I'll try some of the more serious veggie juices next time. My impression of the service is just slightly on the negative side, though. Each time I've been, the person behind the counter has had that dismissive air that's really irritating to me as a customer, especially because I'm nice and don't ever make things complicated. I think one of the things that contributes to this is that there's only one window for ordering and pickup, which makes things a bit hectic when it's busy. But really, just cuz you're busy, there's no need to pretend I'm not there. I know you're busy and can't take my order yet; I'm not going to try to order from you as you juggle 5 different drinks and search for corresponding receipts. Here is my favorite Saturday morning ritual: Wake up super early to meet up with my fellow runners by 7. Run all over the city. Trot over to the Daily Juice bar up the hill from the rock and get refreshed. Listent to Car Talk and sip on my delicious reward on the way home. The Daily Juice keeps me motivated to finish a run. Its what I look forward to the whole time. Once I convinced my boyfriend to go running with me by using the Daily Juice as a bribe. They actually saved my life one time too. For some reason I had the bright idea of running at 3 in the afternoon in August. I know. Im stupid. Well of course, I got dehydrated and when I got to the Daily Juice bar I just about passed out on the counter. They made me drink a shot of Aloe. Ew. Oh God it was so gross. But then... It's funky, it's healthy, which is probably what deterred me for all those years because I'm despicably boring like that. But I passed this place after eating at Magnolia Cafe and decided that it was a sin to live in Austin and never try Daily Juice. And I was right. It is a sin. But there is time to repent! Now I've only tried one thing here but that one thing told me ALOT about this place. I absolutely love the Girls on Film. Why? Because it is a Durian Banana Chocolate smoothie. And whoever can make that combination taste delicious and wonderful is a complete genius in my book. If you haven't had durian, it's the most wonderful fruit in the world that most people hate because it has this....let's go with 'DIFFERENT' odor that is hard to take. However to me, it's the best odor in the entire world. So naturally this smoothie called to me. When I found out there was chocolate, I was skeptical. But it was amazing, the best smoothie I've ever had. Ok so maybe this isn't the most useful review because most of you won't be running out there and ordering the Girls on Film. I used to think I would never get into these juices since they are on the pricier side but lately I have found myself coming here multiple times a week. The juices here are made really well and are "thicker" than the Barton Springs location (which I prefer). My favorite is the Wundershowzen: it's a great combination of protein, you feel great drinking it because there are greens that you cannot even tell are in it, and it's not too heavy. I come here after I do a run on Lady Bird Lake or after my running group. I always get the Peachy Green - spinach, kale, peaches, apples - with Brown Rice Protein. Service is always great and laid back. They also have a cute little rock garden area with outdoor chairs and a fountain just to relax. While waiting, you can also sit on the long bench. This place does get crowded during the weekends and also parking can be difficult. I come here and other locations so many times I feel as though I help keep them in business. Juiceland is one of the best things about the trail. Whether you are walking, running, or biking; it is a great place to grab something to drink or eat afterwards. My favorite things to order are a Good Day juice (apples, blueberries and aloe), Ninja Bachelor Party juice (kale, spinach, jalapenos, pineapple), and the soba noddle salad. If you are there on a Saturday the Ninja Bachelor Party is on special which means you get a couple of bucks off the price of a medium size. Note: Juiceland is run by a bunch of hippies so if you are in a rush this is not the best option. They have no sense of urgency in getting the orders out. They are not dummies, strategically locating their 2nd spot in the direct line of both Town Lake Trail users AND Deep Eddy swimmers. Smarty pants!! This location is a little roomier b/c it's more open than the one on BSprings Road. I noticed they expanded their menu of shots. They don't use any ice so all the stuff in your drink is either fruit or vegetable matter or some random health food spirulina-esque hempseed flax oil lovin' junk. Miraculously, it tastes good and these guys have good suggestions if you bother to ask. Be prepared to wait, it's not lickety split but that's actually a blessing if you have the time b/c they have the best sense of humor which is evident in their politically & socially infused schwag decorating the joint. When I first moved to Austin (previously a San Francisco native and L.A. before that), I thought to myself, "What is up with all these freaking weirdos who want to talk to me all the time??? Do they want money? My purse? WHAT IS THEIR ANGLE???" Juiceland was one of the first hotspots that began to massage my teeny Grinch-like heart into becoming a real heart! It grew one size the day I sipped on the peanut buttery, spinachy, deliciousness of the smoothest, smootherrific, spank-yo-grandmamma smoothie I've ever tasted in my life, The Wundershowzen. It grew another size when I realized that slurping down The Tiger Lilly was one of the BEST HANGOVER CURES EVAR. It kept growing a lil' every time I was greeted by the wonderful (And beautiful! I mean really, these people have some of the most beautiful, shiny, skin I've ever seen on a person not photoshopped) and happy-faced employees who work there. It's like you can't help but leave there smiling. But the day I decided to give all the gifts back to the poor little Whos of Whoville was when my tire blew up as I was passing the Barton Springs location. Now keep in mind, it was about 100 degrees AND raining. Also my stupid phone was dead so I couldn't google "how to change a tire"...galldang crappy iPhone battery (shakes fist at the heavens). So feeling on the verge of punching baby deer in the face, I ran desperately inside spraying sweat and raindrops everywhere, and asked if anyone could tell me how to change a tire. One of the employees immediately offered to do it for me, taught me every step of what he was doing so I could do it in the future, didn't let me lift a finger, AND even laid down cardboard in my trunk so that my dirty tire wouldn't mess up my trunk. I was blown away. So thank you Juiceland. Thank you not only for having literally the best galldang smoothies/juices I've ever tasted (seriously, you guys are like the Full Metal Alchemists of Juice), but you also helped to restore this Grinch's faith in humanity. read more

Juiceland is da bomb. They have great smoothies, fresh juices, and my wife's favorite Kombucha. The staff is always friendly and willing to help and though it does take a while to get your goods its always worth the wait. I love this location too as I can come right off the town lake running trail and right into some yummy treats. They also sell Soup Peddler soups and thats an even better way to keep your day going. We really like the mulligatawny soup and the young fresh Thai coconuts. If you haven't tried either definitely give it a go. I'm sure you'll love it as much as I do. read more

If you're doing the master cleanse, know that the price of maple syrup has driven the price of a gallon of master cleanse up to $19 per gallon. I don't like mine very sweet so they used about 1/2 the maple syrup they normally would and gave me a discount. The location is a little tricky to find if you miss the sign on the first pass. They are behind a house across the street from that horrible Lake Austin Boulevard vet clinic. It helps to know the address you're looking for. I did not have any trouble parking. They have a lot. I ran in when I was running late for work one day. The staff was ridiculously nice and the juice was delicious. It was a little expensive, but I usually expect that of any place like this. My biggest gripe is the parking situation. This was my 4th attempt at visiting. The first 3 times were unsuccessful because there were no spots. While I was there, the power shut off a few times. It really lengthened the amount of time it took to get my juice. I worked at a place where that happened frequently, so I tried not to let it change my opinion. Nothing is better than finishing your run on Town Lake by stopping at JuiceLand. The location is perfect for this. They have something for everyone here too. If you are hardcore and want an all green juice with added supplements you can get that or if you just want a fruit smoothie they have those too. No need to feel intimidated by the menu. I like the outdoor set up so I can keep my sweaty self outside. If you like watching birds and squirrels this is a great place for that. Once I saw a squirrel run up to the counter, grab a granola bar, and run up a tree with it. Everyone there was watching this and getting a kick out of it. Someone told the guy working there that a squirrel had stolen a snack and he said "Oh, yeah. He does that sometimes." The only thing I don't like about JuiceLand is the price. For 2 smoothies (one large, one medium) we paid $23. If you consider the drinks are meant as meal replacements its kind of okay. As I sit at home relishing this delicious meal from Juiceland (double rainbow quinoa salad) I decided to look up yelp reviews to see if Austin loves this place as much as I do. Happy to know Yelpers are liking da' the juice!! I have become addicted to the JL- as in my day feels incomplete without a cold shower, or a peachy green or a moderator...I could go on and on. Everyone who works at this location (and the newly opened Burnet location) are super friendly. There was one time I had to wait a little longer than norm b/c my Rosie Cheeks order was lost..no biggie but when my juice was ready it was doubled in size for no extra charge. Sweetness...literally :-) My b/f & I did a 3 day juice cleaner- I did the Liver Detox and he did the Karate Cleanse- amazing. You get so much juice!! It was almost more than I could consume in one day..but my body quickly caught on and I was in juice heaven. If you try to juice the amount you get with the cleanse on your own you will definitely spend more $$/day on your own vs. what you pay per day for the JL cleanse. Keep in mind the variety of locally sourced/organic veggies/fruits. Of course if you have an incredible garden in your backyard that provides the veggies/fruits it wouldn't be cheaper...but I digress. The great thing about their cleanse is we never once felt hungry or that we were craving carbs, etc. We welcomed the change and turned around some bad habits- in just three days.
