We came here on a Thursday night while driving back to the city. The service was quick and reminded me of boba spots back home in California with cute, Asian-inspired decoration. I got a peach smoothie, and my companion got a milk tea. I thought my smoothie was pretty good! It had an authentic peach taste and was perfectly sweet and blended. Overall refreshing, although I usually do not order smoothies at boba spots (I was feeling adventurous). I will be down to try more of the many flavors they have for smoothies! The milk tea was okay. There are no fruit teas, the fruit flavors are available only with smoothies or slushies. The place looks a little dated with old, torn couches but it's very cutely decorated for the holidays. I love this spot for Bubble Tea! First off their items are Delicious!! And I've always lived in South Austin for all the years I've raised my son here (Texas native) and this spot was close by in the Southpark Meadows shopping center by the park at Jason's Deli where I used to always bring my son to play. I loved bringing him to this place- over a decade ago-- because they have such a cool, chill vibe atmosphere, good smoothies for the kids (he's a green apple slush kind of boy) and they also had tons of games and board games for the kids he loved to play! (Risk being his favorite). Such a favored past time (My son is now a grown man at 20 years old!) but I loved to take him here. On to the boba tea! So delish. Everytime. The Taro Cream Blast has always been a favorite of mine. I like getting the regular sized Tapioca bubbles and the baby tapioca, I love the bubbles, the more the better, and they cook theirs so perfectly. Best tapioca bubbles. The Thai Tea is also yummy. And they have such a wide range of fresh smoothies This time I got my Taro Cream with bubbles and I tried the new Peach Cobbler Smoothie, it was delicious. They also have an app where you can order ahead and skip the line, straight to the drink ready station where they'll have your order prepared. Nice place! This was my first time going and my second time visiting Austin. The menu had a wide variety of drinks and they even had my favorite Vietnamese coffee! We've been here numerous times due to its close proximity to Orange Leaf. When you come you never know if you are going to wait in a line that goes out the door or able to walk in and place your order. On this day we were able to walk in. There was a certain drink I wanted but I couldn't remember what it was called so I ended up getting the Taro Cream Blast Tea. I've never had it and asked what it tasted like, the barista told me that it tasted like the milk from fruit loops. He was not lying. My daughter was craving a slushy and she got the Green Apple Slush with boba. After receiving our drinks we sat on the benches just people watching even though there were only like less than five patrons. They have a red panda you can take pictures with, but my daughter told me that is embarrassing. I've entered that phase of parenting. read more

I haven't found a go-to boba spot in Austin yet but I was craving some flavors from home. Happened to be headed to another establishment in this plaza but figured I'd give Teapioca a try after seeing generally good reviews. Walking in, it's not the most spacious of boba shops in terms of seating. There are a couple of benches, one coffee table with jenga blocks, and a bar area. The menu is huge, with a good variety of milk teas, slushies, and smoothie drinks. I've come to learn to be a bit skeptical of places with too many non-traditional boba options and out-of-the-box drink names, so I hoped for the best after placing my order. All the items on the digital menu wall are their most popular. Hoping for some good quality tea, I ordered off their list of premium teas displayed on a sheet of paper to the right of the cash register. Drinks come standard with non-dairy creamer but they also have other non-dairy as well as dairy options. Jasmine dragon pearl tea, 50% sweetness with non-dairy creamer and boba added: The boba definitely has the signature bitterness of having been preserved. The non-dairy creamer complemented the green tea well and left plenty of good tea flavor. I was told that it would be five minutes of brewing time for a premium tea order, which I was more than alright with. I didn't see an option to do ice customization but my drink came out with the expectation of light ice. I'd recommend the premium tea, give or take on the boba balls. I asked for some extra utensils despite only ordering drinks and the staff was kind to provide them. I'd stop by again on a craving if I was in the area. read more

I found my way to Teapioca and ordered their custom tea based drinks and really enjoyed them! They had some really cool drink options and some of them were very much a fusion of traditional boba and Mexican snacks/drinks. I grabbed a drink around 9pm. It was super busy much to my surprise. They have an extensive menu. If you're not familiar with these drinks and you don't know what you want you should def figure it out before going lol but my drink was tasty. No real complaints. Love it here! Even as a Bay Area native, I think the boba is at least comparable to our own Mecca of boba drinks, as it's chewy and made fresh. The basil seeds are crunchy and slimy, just the way they should be, and they have agar as well, which is a rarity among boba places. Everything came out quickly too (under 5 min). Ever since I moved to Austin three years ago, I've been missing the presence of a lot of the Asian restaurants and boba shops of San Diego. I've been to this location a handful of times now and it's usually insanely busy (as it should be because boba is life!!), but it's always been super crowded and took a while for the orders in addition to online orders. Pro tip: go before noon on a weekday. This made all the difference! I was the only one there today and it was nice, I got to really go over the menu without feeling pressured from the long line. My go to is the Taro milk tea with boba but I got regular black milk tea as well this time. I also got this amazing snowy dessert, mango flavored (same as pictured in their advertisement in store) with all of the toppings shown (fresh mangos, vanilla ice cream, condensed milk). The snow thing is sooooooo good!! At first a little too sweet but that's condensed milk for ya! The overall flavor is amazing and the fresh fruit is chefs kiss! Today gave me all of the Asian boba tea shop vibes I was missing of my past and I strongly recommend this place for boba tea and their desserts! Came here to see creepy dudes being creepy with girls, should have gone to just the Tip-in-okay? Lounge. This is extremely busy and there's usually a long line. Some of the people in here were really cute and nice to us, and some of the people in here were really rude and pushed in front of us in line. Came here for my flight from Tulsa down to Florida. Should have gone to Tampa-OK Lounge. Service was fine but the drinks were really lacking something, as they usually are. The truth is I'm just not a fan of this taste, and I find their milk tea to taste a little fake, as if premade, and their fruit tea to taste a little like chemicals. Came here for lukewarm southern veggies. They didn't have any. Should have gone to the Tepid-Okra Lounge. I used to like their fruit teas, but my tastes have developed a lot. At least it's comfortable in here. We're not honestly fans of Teapioca Lounge. It doesn't matter how many locations we go to, it's just really not doing it for me, but compared to Barbi's disdain, I'm a huge fan, lol. Came here for used period products. This place was my go-to for boba for a long time, in large part because it is conveniently located and they have lots of options. I have since found a couple places I like more, but I think they make a good cup of boba here and their basics are equivalent to basics even at other places I like more (eg the milk tea with lavender flavor and boba here is just as good as anywhere else). There are some tables in the back and couches up front; I've spent hours here catching up with friends since it's a nice centrally located spot in a big and nice outside mall (southpark meadows). Overall I do come here from time to time but like I said - it's not my favorite boba place in Austin (that would be either Sweet memes on Congress, or Moge Tea on Guadalupe). Will drop a quick note that the servers have always been friendly every time I've come here :) read more

Real talk... I have been DEPRIVED of good bubble tea since moving here from Seattle. The number of BBT stores per square mile in Austin is drastically lower in comparison and the quality just ain't the same. Last week, however, my boba prayers were finally answered when we stumbled upon Teapioca Lounge. We ordered a Cream BlasTea and a Taro Cream Blast and both blew us away with their flavors, topping to beverage ratios, and texture of the tapioca pearls. You know it's GOOD when those pearls are perfectly sweet n pillowy. It's too bad there aren't more locations around where we live, otherwise I'd be here all the time to try out their extensive menu! Bonus: I absolutely love how Teapioca Lounge stays on top of all COVID-19 precautions. I don't think there are enough businesses that have the balls to call out customers for not wearing masks or social distancing properly, and they deserve a shout out for sticking to the rules that keep everyone safe. On a Saturday night, my husband and I decided to come here for some tea. We arrived around 7:15 pm. After looking over the menu, we ended up ordering: (Current Yelp check in offer: 15% off total) Large Chai Cream Blastea, $3.95 prior to tax- My husband ordered this drink hot with 50% sweetener. I didn't try any of my husband's drink since he was sick. He liked his drink. Large Almond Cream Tea, $3.95 prior to tax- I opted for this drink to be hot and be made with 50% sweetener. I was told that they don't add additional sweetener and so she said she has to modify the drink if I want it to be at 50% sweetener, so I am not sure what she did to modify the sweetness level but I thought it was fine. But it was gritty towards the bottom. I am not a fan of that gritty finish, which means powder was used to make this drink and wasn't mixed well. Probably could use a little bit more mixing/ shaking. --------------------- (Total= $7.51 after tax and Yelp 15% discount) Music was on the louder side and the WiFi was slow. For some reason I had trouble staying on the WiFi and lost connection several times, so did my husband. There is some seating in the front, but some more down the hall and in the back. The ladies restroom in the back was clean upon this visit. Overall, I just thought this place was a-okay, thus my 3 star rating for this tea house. read more

I enjoyed my experience at Teapioca Lounge. I can't kn a Sunday around 1:00pm and it wasn't crowded at all. The staff were patient as searched through their extensive menu of drinks. The woman behind the counter even offered to help me make a selection. I decided to go simple for my first time and ordered a lychee green tea with tapioca. I asked for half sweet but was informed that they do not add much sugar to that drink as it is. I opted to keep the sweetness level as is and was not disappointed. The tea was the perfect amount of sweet for my taste and they made my drink with plenty of tapioca. Usually when I drink boba tea I'm disappointed because I run out of boba before tea, but this time I had the opposite happen. I had tapioca for days long after I finished the tea. Let's start by saying that Southpark Meadows does not have a great reputation as a shopping center. Lots of petty crime, most of shopping plazas look old and rundown. So when my search for bubble tea closer to home pointed to Teapioca Lounge, I was skeptical at first. But wow wow wow!!! Loved the place!! Display surprisingly has a limited selection for boba drinks, but they make up for it and the flavors that they do have. Every time you get your drink they always let you know if it needs any adjustments, they will gladly fulfill them. They have a chill atmosphere and they have plenty of tables for you to catch up on your reading, meet up some friends, or just work on your electronic device. They also have an array of board games, so this is what we love to do when we have time to hang out. What a great find to enjoy a good bubble tea! read more

This has been my go-to place for boba since I moved to Austin. The staff is friendly here and they're quick and efficient with getting orders done. The past couple times I've been here, I noticed that the line/orders come and go really fast. My favorite drink is the Empire Earl Grey Milk Tea w/ boba! I also just tried their vanilla macaroons and those were really yummy too. As for their COVID procedures, everyone's wearing masks and practicing social distancing. Ordered online the other day and there was a problem with their system and it charged me around $250 extra for a drink option. Called Teapioca Lounge and the employee was very sweet and helpful (I wish I asked for her name), she took my info down and made sure to pass it along to the owners, who refunded me in full, including my drinks, within the next few days. Drinks are still excellent and the endless options inlcuding sweetness level and ice amount are glorious! The only constructive I'd give is sometimes the wait can be a little long. Didn't know I needed this in my life til I had it! I got the Oolong Cream Blastea which is basically just a milk tea and it was sooooo good!!! It was creamy, the perfect amount of sweet (I got 50% sweet), and full of that delicious tea flavor. The tapioca was perfectly chewy and sweet. Teapioca lounge, you nailed it. This location seems to be a popular spot as the line was out the door on a Saturday around 6pm, so definitely be prepared for that. Taro milk had a bitter aftertaste, and all types of boba were nothing to write home about. I was supposed to get boba madness, but I finished my boba before my drink. Bad sign. Wish I ordered the rose white tea like last time. On the plus side, Teapioca Lounge now offers a 44 ounce sized cup that looks like the equivalent size of a Big Gulp. Parking is plentiful. This location of Teapioca Lounge looks deceptively small from the outside, but it's actually quite spacious. The inside has couches, tables, and secluded tables further at the back. Negatives: FLAVOR WAS OFF AND TASTED LIKE MELTED PLASTIC. I got the Thai Tea with coffee added and extra boba. I've had this before and it's tinged orange (typically). This came out neon orange, which took me by surprise. It tasted... plastic-y? Chemical-ly? Another commenter below left a lengthy evaluation of this spot (including stand-up material) and hit the nail on the head. Tasted very ARTIFICIAL. Burnt plastic aftertaste to each sip. Imagine when you microwaved on a styrofoam plate or on plastic and it gets into your food, as a kid. That flavor. Not sure what's going on with the taste, but it was pretty bad.
