Food was not authentic at all. Mangonada did not taste like anything. Fresas con crema did not taste good at all. The strawberries tasted old and mushy. So disappointed we wasted our money here. Drop somewhere else to buy something else. Take your money to Las Mangonadas instead. Their fresas con crema tastes fresh and creamy and not old and runny like it did here. Their mangonadas come with FRESH mango and tajin. The ones here came with no mango and no tajin just crappy chamoy. Threw away our food by the way. Never coming here. read more

Ive been here a couple of times and the food is always really good and the staff is so kind! Parking is limited at this location but Ive never had an issue getting a parking spot. This place is totally a hole in the wall you either know about it or you don't. I love the corn in the cup here. It definitely hits the closest to back home in Mexico. I love that they use the actual authentic white corn the way they do in Mexico. And the price is just amazing for the quantity that they give you. I also got flaming hot Cheetos with cheese. I was craving it and the cheese is so good. They perfectly balanced the flavor in it and it was not watery like other places. Honestly, everything looks delicious in there and this is a place. I'm always in search of a Corn In A Cup (Elote). I grew up in Laredo and there's a place called Mr. Corn down there that is the gold standard. So... saw this place and our group decided to try it out. We did get the Elote... but it was not up to par for my taste (corn was not flavorful and the proportions were off) so I'll concentrate on what I felt they did well. Their Magonada was good. It's Mango fruit ice and not chunks of mango, but the flavor was there. The Chamoy and Chamoy straw make it even better. My kid and I split a banana split and that was good. Got a fresh banana, got coconut, butter pecan and vanilla ice cream and 3 cherries on top. They've got an assortment of other delicious concoctions and if you're into delicious and messy snacks and desserts with a south of the border flair. Stop in. The line moves quickly and the prices are fair. Most take it to go, but there are a few picnic tables out front. read more

Horrible experience! The customer service was horrible at the one on7th street. I tipped / dropped the corn cup when I was getting my payment and the lady not only charged me for it but said that it was my fault in a condescending manner and that if I wanted another one, I'd have to pay for it... very rude! All this in front of my 4 yr old niece. Never tasted the elote and will not be returning here and neither will my friends/family. Customer service needs improvement! read more

I come here for the chamoyada alot. if youre in for something sour, sweet and refreshing, i recommend it. the flavor of the elotes is great but the only thing is that it is usually overcooked corn. ive been here many times and gave it chances but still its a disappointing. the nachos are on par and so are the hot cheetos with cheese. service is very fast which i really appreciate. read more

I absolutely love this place and come visit here every time I am in town! It is a small little place but there is seating outside. When you walk in, you order immediately and walk out the other end where there is the outside seating and parking lot. The parking is very limited but ppl go in and out quickly so it's not too hard to find parking. There is a lot on the menu but my favorite here is the mango hill. It is super refreshing during the hot summer's and light enough to really eat it and not feel full or disgusting. It is like a light mango Italian icecream covered in strawberries, a rainbow sour belt, and spicy seasoning and sauce. Everything complements it so well and I love it so much! We had a mangonada (amazing), sour hot Cheetos, Elotes, and an ice cream sundae. Everything was delicious and we sat outside on the wooden benches, fed some pretty tame birds and ate our treats. 5 out of 5 stars for authenticity, great flavor, and food presentation. I visited Mexico as a kid all the time ( like every weekend ) and Hay Elotes is the only spot I know that uses white corn. *chef's kiss* I don't like Mayo on my corn, so I always sub for crema and it's perfect. Great limonada as well. The staff makes other aguas fresca options that are also really tasty. They also make their fruit selections fresh. Uhhh, only the most delicious frozen mango treat with fresh strawberries EVER!!! Mango Hill is generously sized (must be at least 48 oz) and easily shared. The typical ice cream parlor setup: single line along a glass display case. There is one large single person bathroom. The ladies who helped me were very nice. (A word of warning - if it is more than $6, it's probably *huge*, one of the items is basically most of a pineapple, and that isn't the largest part of the dessert!) Mind you, there will be some chilli-powder like stuff thrown in somewhere - never fear, it actually works quite well! What can i say they have a variety of delicious snacks! They were also kind enough to change one of their menu items a bit. This location was a bit small, but has a nice seating area outside if you want to stick around. The inside is very small and not as well kept as you would like. It does look like this location has been around for a while, but a bit of cleaning wouldn't hurt and updating the bathroom a bit. The bathroom is the reason why they are not getting 5 stars. I understand it's small in there, but if it was a bit more inviting that would make it even better. My snack I ordered was delicious and exactly what I was expecting. I was severely craving elotes and decided to stop here. The seasoning was decent but the corn wasn't cooked as great as I expected. Seemed like the corn was just boiled and thrown into the cup. The best elotes is grilled corn! This corn wasn't the best/: but we did see that the mango hill was popular so we gave it a shot and it was delicious! They give a big portion so it's worth the price. Definitely something to share with someone since it's so big. Me and my friends got one and split it into two other cups because there was so much. The dessert was sweet and extra mango-y! While waiting and enjoying the smells wafting from next door, we got a large elote, with everything on it. Could have used a bit more spice to it, in my opinion, but I would gladly get again. This is a great spot that you could easily drive by and never even know was there. We came across it by accident, but were glad we did. In Texas, shops like this are easy to come across further south in San Antonio or even more south in Brownsville, but seem quite rare in Austin. Pretty cool they have something like this here though you'd think there'd be more. If you've never had fruit with chili powder and chamoy, it'll be different, but give it a try. Their sweet and savory combinations work well. Also the portions are generous so a lot can be shared. 4 stars for being in Austin, for the nice staff, and for the perfectly ripened and refreshing fruits they provide. I have yet to try their elotes, but plan on coming back for that, and more fruit. P.S. Parking is horrible and there's may be a line so keep that in mind. read more
