Oh, Juicy Burger, where have you been all my life? For nearly 40 years I have neglected my hunger, failed to satisfy my indulgence on amazing food. What hell, Tram? Anyway. There are tables indoors, spaced out to be complaint w/ social distancing guidelines. I believe we could have eaten there but the signs in front stated that it's "pickup only." Maybe that has changed. The menu is above the griddle, away from the cash register so it's a challenge ordering however, w/ no one behind us we were able to contemplate and ponder before ordering: He got the bacon cheese burger w/ 6pc nuggets and a mixed between fries and onion rings. I ordered the Mega Juicy Burger and poutine fries. So, I would not call this place a fast food joint one bit; no antibiotics, grass fed, and fresh. This place reminds me of Sliders Burgers off of San Carlos. An array of items to order no matter your appetite. Service was fast and great. The toppings bar was kept clean and neat. Let me just say that it was love at first bite. I finished both w/o remorse however, I had to run the day after and the day after that to feel like I am back in my homeostasis. Great burger! Atmosphere meh! I love that they make your burger which was very tasty (hopefully I won't regret ordering it medium rare). Then, you get to put on as much or as little topping as you choose. There was lots to choose from. Burgers came from 1/4 pounders up to a full pound. The reason I say meh on that atmosphere, was because it's on a busy street, Blossom Hill Rd, and they had both doors open, so it was really noisy and breezy. I'm surprised. It wasn't busy at all. This is a classic old fashioned burger joint. You order and they cook it, so you can have it medium or rare or well done. They have a large tray with all the fixings you need to customize your burger. Good fries and a soda makes for a tasty inexpensive meal. We were craving burgers and this place lives up to its name. We called ahead for pick up. Burgers are a good size, juicy, and filling. Made to order and you can customize with their many toppings. I'm a huge avocado fan and so I ordered the avocado burger. The avocado is more of a spread then fresh sliced, but they slathered on a good amount so I was happy camper. This place was so good I felt like I stood outside and barbecued the burger myself. Homemade vibes for sure. I loved that the establishment was female and Asian owned. The owner was nice and made an effort to talk to us and get to know us. I loved that they give you so many toppings on each burger and you can customize it anyway you like! Well the other night my wife and I were over near Juicy Burger. This place has been in the same location for a very very long time. Over that time we've only been there once or twice. We just couldn't understand why we haven't been there more often. Well, a week later we decided to try it out again. When you approach the door you realize that there are signs EVERYWHERE! These are signs that are printed on a computer. Man, they went through a lot of paper. The door is plastered with outdated Covid warnings. There is a sign telling you to wear a mask (outdated as I write this), signs that tell you to pay with card only, no cash, even more Covid signs. When you step inside, more signs. Everything from signs advertising shrimp, to octopus, to probably the most odd sign telling you that you cannot return your food for a refund. That right there is a deal breaker for me. I regularly return my burgers for a full refund. Why they refuse to do that I just don't know. So getting back to the shrimp and octopus. Neither of these, and the various other seafood dishes, appear to be juicy or burgers. I'm thinking there might have been a change of ownership somewhere along the way. You'd think with there fondness for homemade signs that they'd slap something up on main sign indicating that they have seafood too. Something like Juicy Burger and Various Sea Food Dishes. Maybe Juicy Burger, Octopus, and More. I dunno. As you drive by you just have no idea that they have more than juicy burgers. The burger menu is a bit confusing. There are many types of burgers but I just can't remember all of them. I should have taken a picture. I do remember they have a Super Juicy burger as well as a Juicy Super Burger. I really thought this was a typo so I asked at the counter what the difference was. As far as I can tell the difference has to do with where in the burger the cheese is located. One of them has the cheese first followed by two burger patties below it while the other one has the cheese between the patties. Like I said I could be wrong. So we asked what kind of cheese we can get. We were told Cheddar, Swiss, or American. The lady at the counter then went over to the cheese drawer and pulled out all three cheeses. The cheddar was actually a shredded mixture of maybe cheddar and maybe jack. It looked like the mixture you get at Costco. The Swiss definitely wasn't the Swiss I was picturing. It was a block of probably processed Swiss. Not interested. We both went for American. The topping bar had Plexiglass in front of it so customers cannot add the toppings to the burgers like they used to. They do it for you. This is due to Covid no doubt. Granted it's been a while since we have been there but I seem to remember a larger selection of toppings when we were there before. Anyway, the burgers tasted very much charbroiled. I'm not sure they were, I didn't notice but mine sure tasted that way. My bun wasn't that robust and fell apart almost immediately so that was kind of annoying. The fries are not something to write home about. So, definitely a different experience but the burgers did have a pretty good taste. For the price you pay I would expect to have some real cheese for some of my choices. And the fries should be special. I guess I'd have to give it overall a MEH. Now, if they would only lift the ban on burger returns, then maybe! read more

I have visited this place since 2014. They have grass fed meat but this time, the burger bun wasn't the best. They cook your burger the way you prefer. I like mine medium. They had only iceberg lettuce (cheap kind). I ordered Combo #3 Super Cheeseburger 1/2lb × 1 (with curly fries and Pepsi) and paid $17.14 +$1.61 tax=$18.75 + a small tip. I initially ordered the same burger and an order the curly fries on the side. My total was over $20 for only two items!!! I'm glad I paid attention to my order. I paid less for the same combo + I got soda (which I only had a sip). Also, they charge addinal fee to get 1/2 order of fries and 1/2 order of curly fries ($2+). I stick with the #3 combo. I'm really sad to write this review. I recently moved here and have been looking for a mom and pop type of burger place. I was super excited to give this place a try due to the good reviews and we attempted several times to go but they close at 8pm, earlier than what is listed on google maps. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. The staff seemed friendly. When we asked what the difference was with the regular steak and the marinated steak or what was the sauce they used, they didn't seem to know and when they answered, it was really hard to understand them. We ended up ordering the steak sandwich with fried zucchini and my boyfriend got the mega juicy burger combo. The steak sandwich and burger were good or decent. Nothing extra ordinary about them that you would need to rave about. The zucchini tasted old, slightly rubbery. May have been over cooked. And the fries, I couldn't tell you because they forgot to give us any fries. Not sure if this is a one time incident. I may give it one more try before deciding to never come back. read more

Juicy Burger has been in that same location since I first started going here back when I relocated from San Francisco to San Jose in 2006. I also lived within a short driving distance back then, which was great, since this place is awesome. I moved to the other side of town eventually, and then completely forgot about Juicy Burger. Then I eventually moved to south San Jose, and ultimately rediscovered my love for this place. 1. The owners are wonderful people. They love their business, take pride in keeping the establishment stunningly clean, and everything is always restocked, from the napkins to the straws. 2. Bathroom is very clean and welcoming. I don't know how true this is, but many restaurant experts say that you can tell the cleanliness of a kitchen from how clean and well taken care of the bathroom facilities are. 3. Food is great. Always cooked to perfection. Great choice of condiments. Try this place. It's my go-to for hamburgers. Skip crappy McDonalds or Burger King, and bring your family to a much better alternative.
