finally had the chance to stop by, but unfortunately I think this was a case of aesthetics over taste, the food was just ok and confusing. on a Monday lunch there was still a short wait 5-10 min wait we got the: - truffle tots: pretty standard and well crisped and salted tater tots - birria breakfast burrito: was excited for this since I like birria tacos a lot but the entire burrito and both sauces just lacked flavor somehow and the oil still dripped from the burrito. I think the sauces were some kind of chipotle crema and guac mix but honestly could barely tell what it was. - bacon breakfast burrito: same sentiment as the Birria one, but the bacon had some flavor and saltiness to it - iced matcha cream top: beautifully presented drink, the cream was super sweet and in contrast the matcha was bitter, once mixed it was more like a sweet treat - blueberry mascarpone toast: I don't recommend this, I expected something similar to blueberry mascarpone pancakes but I was just confused. The blueberries were very sweet with honey, but the mascarpone was extremely buttery tasting, and placed on top of a whole wheat kind of bread. Had a nice coffee catch up with friends at Morning Lobby. The cafe is beautiful with plenty of seating if you come early. The selection of coffee is simple and delicious without too many frills. I had the pour over which was perfect My friends had earl grey tea and latte which they enjoyed. We shared a few small plates: avocado toast with a perfect poached egg , lemon blueberry mascarpone toast and a croissant. The toasts were delicious and filling but the croissant was a bit dry. Best was the service. Wow so incredible. The server was so kind and helpful. Brought everything to the table and even extras as we needed them. Promptly removed plates and kept the table clear. Came around 1pm on Sat morning, there was a bit of a line and a worker estimated 20-25 min wait from the breakoff point where u start lining up down the ramp. We actually got in 15 mins as alot of people also just want to to-go order and they seem to work efficiently here. Ordered the bacon breakfast burrito sub chicken this time instead of getting the birria. The birra was good last time but a bit oily but understandable as it is birria! This burrito was not oil and i loved the crunchy hash/cheese inside? I wonder if they do without meat. I like the salas! Also tried the nutella french toast and it was soo tasty! U dont even need the maple syrup. And it wasnt too sweet or too much nutella either, just right. Their coffee is really good from saint franks, made with house made almondmilk?! Yes please! Part of me didn't want to write this review because I loved Morning Lobby so much and I'd have to wait longer if y'all all start showing up, cause it's literally so good and worth the wait. Note: This review is written based on two visits. You stand in line outside with some shady umbrellas, the staff is kind and attentive, giving you a menu so by the time you get to the counter you are ready to place your order. It's very efficient, you place the order, get a number, find a table either inside or outside, both very beautiful settings with intentional decor. It's a place you'd want to take a date, a friend or family, it's just so fabulous. I ordered the Matcha and Fried Mortadella Egg Sandwich the first time. I kid you not, one of the best bites I've had all year. The eggs were so fresh and orange, soft and fluffy, with some melty Provolone, some Dijon mayo and stacks of Mortadella. The balance of flavors were superb. The second time we went, I wanted to order everything off the menu and almost ordered the same sandwich again but I saw that they were known for their Bacon Breakfast Burritos. AGAIN, eggs fresh, orange, and fluffy, with crispy hashbrowns and bacon, along with some avocado. It was absolutely delicious and I can see why people enjoyed it so much. The sauce pairings were spicyyy, so use as you will but it really didn't need a whole lot to add to the already flavorful burrito. Curious about what the Birria Breakfast Burrito tastes like, perhaps next time. We also ended up getting the Nutella Banana French Toast which made me want to cry out of joy. I've only ever had basic French toast so this was otherworldly. The drinks are good, but I will keep coming back for the foooood! They take your order at counter, self serve seating. They have inside and outside seating, we sat outside "traffic is super noisy" recommend sitting inside. The inside looks... well.... For lack of a better word..... sterile. I ordered the Birria burrito: The size was average, I felt it was overpriced for what they give you. The burrito was Super, SUPER oily, I mean, Exxon Valdez oily "see pictures" and its flavor I found lacking $17.00 2 stars. Salmon with scrambled egg: I felt that the salmon and egg toast was priced way better than the Birria burrito. While it looked amazing, the Salmon tasted fishy, old, and parts of the toast was rock hard $17.50 2 stars. Tatter tots: The Tots IMO were very good, not oily at all and a $6.50 price point I felt was a reasonable price, 4 stars. Cute brunch spot in an unassuming location! Even though it's right on a busy road, they did a good job creating a separation and taking you out of the area. I came on a weekday morning and was glad I did because there was a very short line, unlike all the pictures I saw on Yelp. There were only a few people in front of me and the line moved very quickly. Two of us ordered the Bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich, Birria breakfast burrito, and Blueberry mascarpone toast to share. This was plenty of food, but we really wanted to try a variety from the menu. The burrito was loaded up with meat and avocado, something I'd usually be thrilled by, but there weren't a lot of eggs or tots, so it was a little rich. Still good though, and based on pictures of the burritos, not usually the norm. The breakfast sandwich was fine, but I'd choose the burrito over it. And the toast was good, but definitely more of an accompaniment than a meal. They had plenty of seating inside and outside on the covered porch on the side side and in the front. The menu is fun, with seasonal drinks displayed. The coffee beans are fresh and tasty. They make fresh almond milk in house, which I subbed for my iced vanilla latte. - Iced Vanilla Latte with Almond Milk - Iced Matcha - Iced Vienna Latte The food we ordered was tasty and presented well: - Breakfast Burrito Birria - Breakfast Sandwich: bacon, eggs, and cheese - Protein Bowl: cottage cheese, avocado, and scrambled eggs I ordered the protein bowl, and it was delicious. There was some sort of salsa dressing over the eggs, but I wish they had provided more on the side. It was tasty, but for patrons wanting a more saucy morning, there should be an option for that. This is my third time here since their opening so clearly it's a favorite of mine. First time here and I am a fan. At first, I was a little confused with the set up. There is no list, you stand in line and they'll direct you when it's your time to order at the counter. You order first then it's self serve seating, but since it was busy when we went (Sunday 10:30am), they arranged it to when a table opened up. Shared the birria burrito and the nutella french toast (swap the bananas for strawberries, since our friend was allergic to bananas) and it was delicious. The burrito was a good size and it came with their house cilantro sauce and a spicier sauce. It is on a pricier size though for it's size at $17. It could be fatter for the price range. It's a little oily but that's because it's a birria style burrito. The nutella french toast as a nice sweet finish. Came with syrup but it was not necessary since the nutella was already sweet. As for coffee, we ordered their iced Vienna latte and enjoyed it. Cute little brunch spot and I can see why there's a line in the morning. Definitely worth checking out. There is one thing that keeps bringing me back to this place and it's the fried mortadella sandwich! The bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich and sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich are also pretty good but be sure to get the spicy house aioli on the side if you have littles. The drinks while beautiful but I find are all very mid. The iced mont blanc and apple matcha latte (seasonal) were all very mild tasting drinks. Personally not sweet enough for me nor where there any contrasting flavors shining in the drinks. I added a bit more sweetner but it didn't work for me. Get in line and order and pay and they bring your food out to you. The interior is a beautiful European style cafe but very few seats inside. There is plenty of outdoor seating and best of all opens at 7am. If you have littles you know they are up early. I was chatting with many other parents with kids at 8am. I went here with a friend and was pleasantly surprised that there is new aesthetic brunchy spot in south sj, especially in this plaza! It took over yogurtland in the corner spot, which is honestly pretty good considering the line that wraps around it anyways we got there Labor Day around 930 and we waited about 40 minutes to get a table. Decor inside was pretty cute, with muted colors and wooden accents. We ordered up front at the cashier first, they gave us a number and and we were able to sit at the high top table inside, but facing the outside patio. Our food came out relatively fast! For drinks, we got orange juice and a hot matcha latte with a cream top. They were both fantastic For our food, we shared the ricotta scramble, birria breakfast burrito, and a breakfast sandwich. Ricotta scramble on toast was light and fluffy, but needed a little something extra. I use the hot sauce they had on hand (I loved it so much, I went to the store and bought it!) Pricey...but delicious! We came on a Monday morning (three day weekend) at 10AM. There was a line outside, but luckily a two-person opening, so we only waited 10 minutes or so. The inside is clean and modern, but also bustling. I saw someone with a laptop, but I'd definitely say that this restaurant is more sit down then leave, rather than a cafe to do work at. You order first at the kiosk, then they'll bring your food to your table. We got the birria breakfast burrito, egg and cheese breakfast sandwich, iced vienna latte, and hot vanilla latte. The service was pretty fast after we ordered, and there's also various different hot sauces at the sauce bar. Even though I'm not the biggest coffee person, I'll admit - the lattes were smooth, creamy, and flavorful. The real stars of the show, for me though, were the breakfast items! Firstly, for the sandwich, the eggs were cooked to perfection - soft and jammy, practically pillowy inside. And the caramelized onions were an AMAZING addition, literally elevating a regular breakfast sandwich. The burrito was also delicious. The birria was so tender and well seasoned, and the tots inside were coated in gooey cheese and sauce. An ideal breakfast bite! I honestly don't go out to too many breakfast spots in San Jose, but I would come back for the sandwich and burrito! The ordering process was easy. They have paper menus you can browse while in line. You order at the counter, get handled a table number, and sit wherever you'd like, and they bring the food out to you. Will hand food to you for to go as well. There's a small, comfy seating area if you're waiting for to go orders. There is plenty of outdoor seating and some indoor seating as well. Overall, Morning Lobby Cafe is a cute spot with a nice atmosphere, especially for a girls' brunch, coffee date, or casual catch-up with friends. I've been meaning to try this place and today was finally the day. When I arrived there was a line going out the door with around 4 parties ahead of me but it surprising moved really quickly. I ordered a vanilla bean latte and felt it was slightly above average but nonetheless it was good. This place is definitely super busy but the woman managing the dining room and seating seemed to be on top of it and I say this because they were originally going to seat me at the bar ( which looked sort of sad because its in the corner, a little too close to where food is being prepared, there were a lot of dishes and stuff crowding the surface nearing where you eat). Thankfully something worked out and I was able to sit at a table and they were able to move someone who wanted to dine outside to a table there. Food: The kitchen seems to run efficiently and the food comes out relatively quickly. I ordered the Birria breakfast burrito and removed avocado. Inside of it was egg, some pretty crispy hash browns, and Birria meat. If there was cheese in it I couldn't tell. While I liked the flavor of the meat I felt like the flavor of everything else in it was just lacking a bit. Presentation and ambiance : The ambiance once you step inside is pretty nice and it looks super clean inside. They put fresh flowers on each table which is pretty cute. One thing I was not a fan of was the sauces being served in plastic containers it just seems a bit off for a place that's so aesthetic and trendy. However, giving two choices for sauce is refreshing and I leaned towards liked the orange one a bit more. Portions: The coffee and the burrito was enough for me to leave filling the right amount of full but I can definitely see how this would not be nearly enough food for someone else. The burrito also looked pretty thin when it came out. Pricing: Seems a bit steep with a coffee and burrito costing me 30. I fear that it might just be due the economy. I guess the pricing seems sort of necessary to keep a restaurant afloat but something about it still feels off. We came with a group of 5 people in the morning on a weekday around 9am. There was a good amount of traffic coming in and out mainly for takeout orders. We got to take a look at menu but opted for easier visuals through Yelp. We ended up getting a raspberry matcha, matcha with cream top, hot latte and a vanilla bean latte for our drinks. For our food, we got nutella banana sandwiches, avocado toast, breakfast burrito, and a couple mortadella sandwiches. The matcha with cream top here is heavenly. I never finished a matcha drink so fast in my life. It was flavorful and the cream top was a phenomenal addition. My sister enjoyed her raspberry matcha saying there was a fruity yet still earthy taste to her drink. The hot coffee latte (not sure what they got) was gone by the end of the meal. I would come back here again strictly for the matcha with cream top. The vanilla bean latte was a little too sweet for my boyfriend and he couldn't taste or feel the caffeine lol. The mortadella sandwiches here were amazing. The brioche bread was soft and sweet. Everything inside the sandwich: the eggs, meat and cheese complemented one another. The avocado toast was refreshing to eat adding a good balance to our meals. The breakfast burrito was a popular item here it seems! A lot of people got it, and it was gone by the end of our meals. The service was friendly and attentive, and the ambience was great -- especially the outdoor seating area, which made the meal even more enjoyable. The food was good too. My only small feedback would be that I'd prefer the bread slices on the toast to be slightly thicker, since they were a bit chewy for my taste. The Vienna latte is definitely worth trying! The cream was a little too sweet for me personally, and the cream-to-coffee ratio leaned a bit heavy on the cream, but it was still delicious and unique. They have a shared parking lot. read more

I am so pleased with my experience here! Everything was phenomenal. We loved the birria breakfast burrito. I think it was the best breakfast burrito I've ever had. The whole ensemble of textures and flavors came together very well - it also came with these two aioli type of sauces that really elevated the burrito. The bacon egg and cheese sandwich was also delicious, even reheated on the second day. The bun was airy and the bacon was thick and crispy. We also shared truffle tots, which came as plain tots with truffle parmesan. Also delicious. The vienna latte was my favorite drink. The cocoa dusted cream top reminded me of tiramisu, my favorite. The double shot of espresso was rich and strong, and still carried through the thick cream top. The raspberry matcha special had a pleasant raspberry punch but it was too tart overall for my preference. It can get quite noisy, including in their new indoor/outdoor seating area. Finally decided to stop by and see what all the hype is all about. Wasn't disappointed. Went there for lunch, around 12:30p-ish, on a Saturday. Wait was not too bad, less than 15min. Maybe because of the weather, was drizzling a bit. Service was pretty good, chill, casual homey feel. No check ins though, and didn't ask whether we want any condiment. We had to ask to get the chipotle and minty cilantro sauce that were in small to go cups on the kitchen counter. Food was great. The fried mortadella had a nice crisp to it with tender slices of the mortadella meat and nice sweet dijon-mayo sauce. The burrito I thought was a tiny bit dry but with the extra chipotle and cilantro sauce, it was good. Didn't try the grilled cheese, my kid said it was good but very greasy, not for those that wants a light healthy meal. Price point I think was good considering the food/ingredient quality and amount. This was my third time visiting, and I honestly love this place more every time. The food is always delicious-fresh, flavorful, and consistently good. What really stood out this visit was the hospitality. Penny, who is always so friendly and welcoming at the front, made our experience extra special. She greeted us right away and made sure we were taken care of from the start. At the end of our meal, she came by to check on us and asked if we needed any boxes. Morning Lobby, you are quite delicious if I do say so myself! I've been here twice now and each time I've left very satisfied. The first time I got the caesar salad wrap, which was very good. However, after trying the breakfast burritos my second time, I have to say I'll probably never get the caesar wrap again. The birria breakfast burrito was SO flavorful and the sauces they gave paired very nicely. The bacon breakfast burrito was also really good but the birria was my favorite. My boyfriend didn't agree with this though haha and he thought the bacon was the best. The drinks were also tasty but the food is definitely what stands out from Morning Lobby. This place has been on my radar for a minute. Their birria breakfast burrito was great, lots of flavor with the spicy chipotle and cilantro sauce. The chicken caesar wrap was chopped and creamy, with a nice crunch from croutons inside. The drinks have a fire presentation, the iced Vienna tasted like a tiramisu dessert with the cream top. I would not get the raspberry matcha again, the flavor was so pungent and overpowering and just hard that artificial sweet taste. never heard of this place before but happened to be in the area waiting for something else w time to kill so I popped by line wasn't too bad when I got there around 10 - maybe 15 people deep - but by 1015 there were like 30 people in line iced vienna latte - 9/10 pretty good, cream was nice & fluffy & I got scared my lactose intolerance would kick in (I got the drink part with oat milk) but I ended up okay birria burrito - 10/10 cute packaging but maybe 7/10 for the food itself - really yummy but also smol :( took less than 10min to get my food after I ordered (don't know if this was bc I did to-go) even tho the place was packed so that was nice tip: if you're ordering to-go you don't need to wait in line LOL I did not know this so I waited in the whole heccin' line read more

She explained to me how it works -- you order at the counter, choose a table, and have your order served to you.
