The place is so pretty and decorations are so cool. Got sat really quickly and got drinks were given immediately. Food took about 15 mins to come out. Our server, Jazmin, was very sweet and attentive. Had a good experience !

Cool little diner with nostalgic decor. Lots of food choices. I went for the chili cheese dog. Very flavorful and they make their chili fresh in house. Staff was friendly too.

I stopped by one morning for breakfast, it is a classic diner with the food they serve and the interior as well. I got their breakfast combo for $10 that lets you pick what 3 items you'd like. I got the hash browns, scrambled eggs and pancakes. Nothing too special, but it's affordable breakfast food. Food came out quickly and there are definitely regulars that come here. Staff know their regulars well.

Been working through the menu and differing times of day. Today was ham and cheese omelette, country potatoes, pancakes and orange juice. Service, cleanliness, clientele etc all on point. Will return sooner than later.

We loved their nostalgic ambiance and enjoyed their foods. Services were friendly and attentive, refilled coffee often and make sure you have everything you needed.

came here because a friend said the milkshakes are amazing. that is the only good thing about this place. the food is nothing worth talking about and lacked seasoning. it's a typical 50s themed diner & saw a lot of families there which was sweet.

I'm not going to spend a lot of time doing a review. I was on the hunt for a good milkshake and I found it! I got a hamburger to go along with it and it was huge and good! I left a happy girl, what more can I say?

City Diner is a casual diner/breakfast place in San Jose near the Los Gatos Creek Trail. It's known for its milkshakes and unique decorations. They offer a $10 pick 3 breakfast combo and a diverse variety of breakfast foods. The service is great - our waiter topped off our coffee quickly and was very nice/accommodating. The savory food itself was a bit expensive and flavorless but could be fixed with s&p and ketchup. The pancakes were super fluffy and sized well.

A friend and I found this place about 2 1/2 years ago and we love it. I almost always get the steak sandwich and have never been disappointed with my choice. My friend changes things up and had tried many different things. (Tuna melt, Philly Steak, and many breakfasts) and she has loved all of it. Service is great and staff if friendly.

My favorite part of going here is the service. So attentive and friendly, I couldn't ask for better service. My second most favorite thing, of course, has to be the food. There's so much variety. From breakfast, to lunch, to dinner. From appetizers to their vast selection of old fashion style milkshakes with the extra served on the side. Their pricing is competitive but portions are generous so you definitely get your money's worth(we always have leftovers enough for another meal). This is a photo of the taco salad I had today...delicious! The fresh pico de gallo was perfect with it. For dessert...get the flan...it's so rich and creamy...yum!

They had some Fanime specials for the con (katsu and egg salad sandwiches, spam musubi), seasonal drinks, of course coffees and teas, and non caffeinated drinks, as well as some food too (heated up pastries, both sweet and savory). There's a restroom with a code and a couple seats and tables with outlets to charge your devices. Service was welcoming and efficient especially after the crowds started to pick up. I got the: 1) Egg Salad Sando: -You can tell these were handmade in store. They had cute washi tape to hold the packaging together. -Solid egg salad sandwich. Slightly sweet white bread and generous amount of egg salad inside the sandwich. Creamy mayo taste that isn't too sour or tart, lots of egg in it. Perfect for an anime con next door. 2) Cappuccino: -I got this no sugar and sugar free and it came out with some pretty latte art. I thought it was mostly ok and boyfriend thought so too, but after several sips and when it was too late since we really had to get to the con, it just became too disgustingly sweet for him and he had to throw it away. 3) Yuzu Fresh Fruit Sparkler: -Yuzu puree with sparkling soda water. -Refreshing and not bad, but even after mixing this was a bit sweeter than what I would have liked and again, in our rush to leave, we couldn't really get this adjusted. I ended up pouring most of it in a water bottle to enjoy later and put in my bag. But ended up not finishing it in the end. Maybe next year I'll try again or just stick to the food stuffs.

When walking, we missed the restaurant initially because this place is clearly, a hidden gem, especially being hidden along the nightclub strip. We were blown away by the curated vibes. From the thoughtful decor to The Office being projected on the wall. It felt hip, fresh and refined. We decided to craft our own drinks - Arnold Palmers, his favorite. But they only had sparkling lemonade, which actually made it even better. We shared a salad that had some cooked pears and squash alongside the greens, walnuts, cranberries and blue cheese. I do feel like the cooked sweet elements overpowered the salad with their sweetness and textures a bit. Wondering if a refreshing pear for crunch or more dressing could have brightened it up and provided a salty, sweet balance. I ordered the Short Ribs with a parsnip purée and roasted carrots and it did not disappoint. Everything paired beautifully together, perfectly salted and cooked. I finished the entire plate. Dad got the Pork Chop and while it was overcooked, he loved the flavors happening in the dish and was pleasantly surprised by the refreshing treatment of the kale. The staff was attentive and very friendly. Overall a great experience. We would definitely come back!

We hit the Brunch hour and the place was rocking. We were able to sit right down amazingly. There is a fabulous patio to people watch and enjoy the California weather. Our server Charles was really great. He walked us through the menu giving us the 911 on watch to order. Most of the plates were perfect shareable bites. Making it easy to try multiple plates and really get your inner Foodie on. We started with the Seasonal Banana Pancakes with crushed walnuts and cinnamon maple syrup. Inside the pancakes were fresh bananas and the walnuts were crushed very small but added a great texture. Moving on to the Chicago Steak sandwich don't get confused but in Chicago they refer to Roast Beef as steak. The Au Jus dip was very flavorful without being a salt bomb. Loved the potato roll they used all round a killer sandwich. Going a little outside the box we tried the Jerk Chicken Sandwich. The pineapple slaw with this amazing peppery chutney type sauce played so well with the acid of the pineapple. Another must have sandwich. I ask you how can you go to a new restaurant and not have some dessert. With everything else being so good our expectations were pretty high and we were not disappointed. The Giant Profiterole is exactly that GIANT and stuffed with White Chocolate Gelato and Hot Chocolate Sauce that you can drizzle over the top. To fricken die for good.
