John Jeffries specializes in local farm to table ingredients. I enjoyed a watercress potato soup followed by the Puedmontese grass-fed petite beef steak. Both were absolutely delicious. The service was first-rate: friendly and attentive without being obnoxious and VERY well-trained to a level you'd expect in a much larger city. Can't wait to bring my companion back for a visit that I know she will love.

We went to celebrate an anniversary (not ours) and it was a nice welcome for the server to offer the celebrants complimentary prosecco. From there, it was an adventure. Three of us had the shrimp and grits, which, uniquely, were not the typical southern dish but an earthy creation featuring very barley forward grits that also included very chunky carrots and other enhancements I am at a loss to identify. Good, but a surprise for my southern shrimp and grits-expecting palate. The shrimp were pretty overcooked and detracted from the barley-enhanced grits. Two enjoyed the wedge salad. For mains, two enjoyed the shrimp bisque, and the pan fried boneless chicken breast. I had the meatloaf and found it to be a bit gamier than expected likely due to using grass fed beef. The mushroom gravy was nice despite some of the mushrooms having gone over the rainbow bridge. The tallow fried potatoes were luscious despite one being undercooked. The desserts were interesting and all supposedly made in-house. I had the mint chocolate chip ice cream which I found somewhat grainy and crystallized and very lacking in mint flavor. The flourless chocolate cake will likely shock you with its petiteness, but trust me, it packs a wallop of richness that will probably satisfy you. The tres leches cake and honey lavender crème brûlée got high marks. Overall we all liked the ambiance, and were somewhat disappointed with the food. 3.5* rounded down to 3*.

This place isn't meant to be for large groups, but could possibly accommodate groups of 6. The main bar which also next to the kitchen is an older vintage style bar and whisky's is nothing special but once you sit down and hear the music you settle in nicely. Service has always been courteous and prompt and the menu looks like there are a good assortment of choices. The two times I've been here I've ordered the mussels which includes great sauce and spread with seasoned ground meet. Was so yummy! The second time I came I tried the CHICKEN FRICASSEE. Man was that great! It includes 4 pieces of bread, chicken and the mushroom sauce. So good! Both times I had some of their assortment of single scoop ice-cream which in this area, something about the milk from their amish cows is so creamy. All that said, this is one of my fav places to come enjoy a glass of wine and food. Oh and Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday's they have some instrumental band playing too.

He loved it and raved about it. My tenders, beans, fries and added crab cake looked fantastic. My food just wasn't hot. All of it was just room temperature when it was delivered. My friend even had a tender before me and said that's not hot. My food tasted fine but just wasn't hot. I hate sending food back or bothering anyone so I didn't address it. I couldn't believe it. My daughter (who already ate more than half) goes and sits away from her parents and when she finishes comes back crying and so visibly upset at what just occurred. The scallops for the main were perfectly cooked and worked with the sauce in the middle of the plate and the green sauce on top of each scallop. Another winner! The lemon custard was refreshing for dessert. It's presented so well where you uncover more layers with each bite. 2) Drinks: They have a full cocktail menu with drinks named after famous people, wine, beer, and mocktails.
