Chicken cordon bleu sandwich wrapped in ham and Swiss cheese, with Cole slaw and pickles
    Bennie L.

Fabulous spot! Great atmosphere with windows overlooking the walking streets in Lancaster. Benjamin, our waiter, was super charming and accommodating from the minute we walked in. Great menu! The drinks were a nice pour and the wine list was good. I had a special chicken cordon bleu sandwich with pickles and Cole slaw on brioche and hubby had surf and turf special with crab cake. My sandwich was so delicious dripping with honey mustard. His filet was perfect and seasoned beautifully. The crab cake was huge and mostly crab. Lovely spot!

My second dining experience here at C'est La Vie. My first C'est La Vie discovery, earlier this year, was al fresco dining; today, a lunch with girlfriends from Philly. It looks like any time is perfect for a fabulous dining experience at C'est La Vie. The lovely gold holiday decorations contributed to the festive atmosphere, perfect for this time of year. We appreciated Kerri S's attentive service and patience while I waited for my girls to arrive from Philly. The food and service were excellent and consistent from my al fresco summer dining.

I had the espresso martini which is a bargain at $8. Thought I took a picture but it didn't go through. They also had a cosmopolitan Maritini which I had. Kinda strong for me but well done and also $8 during happy hour. The blood orange Panna cotta is superb. I thought this was Josephine's but Josphine's is downstairs and lends itself to wearing business casual although I don't feel they would refuse you if you want to give them business too.

I was here for a Company dinner. It's a beautiful restaurant. The service was great, we had Mike and he provided excellent recommend. The food and the drinks were top.

Best creme brulete. Service was very attentive. Ambiance cutesy. So glad I went. Satisfied.

Normally excellent, but we went for their restaurant week special recently and had a disappointing experience. The French onion soup was almost like a dip, it was so thick, the crab cake was essentially a medallion and the mashed potatoes were overly salted. As a contrast, my boyfriend got the filet special and it was excellent. Not worth the price overall, but at least the service and dessert were great.

I really enjoyed my experience here! We were staying in the area and the restaurant was within walking distance from our hotel. The restaurant was very cozy and nicely decorated for the holidays. Our server Benjamin was great! He was very attentive during our meal. The french onion soup was delicious! I also really enjoyed the Croque Monsieur. My husband and I shared the Crème Brulé, it was the perfect ending to our meal. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Service - top notch service from Benjamin, our server. He was very attentive, replenished our beverages when he noticed them getting low, gave menu recommendations based on our indecisiveness, and was an overall joy to have as our server. Not to mention he's also from Maryland - which is where we are from. Visiting the area we were excited to give C'est La Vie Bistro a try - and as you can see we are glad we did! It's a beautiful bistro which was also beautifully decorated for the holiday. Everything was delicious, for starters we ordered the mussels, deviled eggs, and shrimp cocktail. Our entrees were the fried chicken, veggie pasta, crab cake, pizza, and short rib sandwich - the meals were plentiful and we all enjoyed every bite. For dessert we had the carrot cake - which was a tad dry BUT the filling was so amazing it made up for the slight dryness of the cake. Not sure when I'll be back in the area - but C'est La Vie has made my top places to visit when I am! Thanks for great service and great food!

Our waiter was Amazing! I have to start texting myself servers names so I remember them when I get to the review. Since the night was not too hot we sat outside. We started our meal off with blue crab deviled eggs. There was a nice piece of blue crab on top of the egg. Nice but probably not something I would eat again. Our meals - Lamb Tenderloin was just as it sounds nice and tender and the mushroom risotto creamy and perfect. My sandwich would have been better in my opinion as an entree with no bread. The brioche bun could not stand up to the moistness of the meat and the bun fell apart. The fries were crispy with the perfect amount of salt. Now our desserts were stars - mine the cake version of the candy Roche. Dreamy with smooth chocolate and crisp from hazelnuts.. My husband's cake was beautifully presented. Almost like a cheesecake by fluffy and creamier.

Short rib sandwich with that crispy burnt cheese goodness!

Although she did…read morecheck-in with us regarding our appetizer, she was too preoccupied to check-in regarding our entree, due to her being the only staff in the dining area catering to 4 different tables; understandable but didn't leave us the opportunity to address our issues with the entree (which will be highlighted below) until we paid for our bill and came across someone else by happenstance. The aesthetics were elegant and on the dimmer side, especially if you're seating at the corner tables away from the light, we recommend sitting closer to the light or by the entrance if there's still light out. We really loved the crab croquettes appetizer, which had a perfectly crispy exterior that complimented perfectly with the moist interior mixture of potato and crab that paired very well with the aioli. The crispy potato that accompanied the NY strip was perfectly balanced as well, with the crispiest exterior that I ever had with a potato dish! Unfortunately that was the highlight to the entire dish, for the strip was extremely lean without any fat or marbling to help balance out the leanness of the steak (which is evident in the attached photos below). Usually a NY strip, even if grass fed, would still have a strip of fat on the outer layer, but ours did not have any at all, which you can see from all slices we've made. We weren't hoping for ribeye-quality fats at all, but just one that wasn't completely lean. The creamed spinach was also quite bitter and watery, which definitely diluted its creaminess unfortunately; you can see from the photo the wateriness in the creamed spinach where the cream began separating. We love their menu and the restaurant's elegant vibe, as well as how beautifully the food was presented, but unfortunately we were left disappointed by our main entree. I highly recommend their crab croquettes so please give that a try if you can, I promise you won't regret it! Thank you for reading and best of luck! (:

Okay, I see you, Lancaster. If there's one restaurant to allure the Michelin guide to Lancaster,…read moreit's Josephine's near the famous Central Market. Joining for dinner on a Thursday evening in July, here's my experience. 1) Food: The chef and pastry chef take their jobs seriously. Every dish was unique, full of flavor, beautiful, and worth every dollar. To start, they bring out homemade bread made fresh every morning with salted butter. I ordered the special- five jumbo shrimp with smoked garlic aioli. (They have cocktail sauce if you want it, but the garlic is phenomenal.) Before the main came out, the chef brought over the gazpacho using vegetables from his garden. The soup was thicker than I'm used to, but it paired perfectly with the vegetables. It was delicious! The scallops for the main were perfectly cooked and worked with the sauce in the middle of the plate and the green sauce on top of each scallop. Another winner! The lemon custard was refreshing for dessert. It's presented so well where you uncover more layers with each bite. 2) Drinks: They have a full cocktail menu with drinks named after famous people, wine, beer, and mocktails. Enjoying more sweet drinks, I ordered the "Marilyn Monroe." It was a fun drink, but a little too sweet for me. If you like berry and sweet drinks, you'll love it! 3) Service: It's excellent from start to finish. My server Tate was friendly, passionate about the menu, and efficient. His timing with everything was impeccable. 4) Space: It's beautiful. Despite on the basement level, it's lit well with photos of famous icons on the walls. It's iconic!

They were both delicious and filling, and it was a good combination of sweet and savory. My partner got a Savory Crepe, which he also enjoyed. The only disappointing part of our meal was the iced lattes. We both ordered different flavors - one Nutella latte and one with strawberry syrup. We couldn't taste any of the flavoring in them at all. Had our server not told us which was which, we would never have been able to tell. They just tasted like plain lattes with no added flavor. Our most recent experience on 6/27 did not disappoint in any way and elevated our satisfaction. Megan C. was our server and she was dynamic as always. She takes time to listen, is attentive and knowledgeable. Other team members/supervisors were also friendly and were genuinely interested in feedback. For a restaurant to excel in all areas is rare. Harvest Seasonal Grill is one of the finest, and finer than some "fine dining" establishments. We enjoyed the Raspberry Yuzu Martini which was perfectly balanced. The sweet corn chowder will forever be remembered as being so delicious that we were glad we did not opt out of that since we knew we also wanted the Korean BBQ Pork Dumplings. Those were delicious with a zing of spice to keep it interesting but not be overbearing. My husband was very pleased with his Spicy Shrimp Noodle Bowl. He needed a bit more oomph and was brought siracha to please his palate. My Summer Beet Salad with added salmon was perfect, truly. The vinaigrette was light and refreshing but with lots of flavor. The peaches and beets were both fresh for the season. And a big delicious yes to the peanut butter chocolate dessert mini. It was the right size for us to share but selfishly we wanted more because the peanut butter mousse was whipped to perfection. The only bad thing for us is that the closest Harvest is about 30 minutes away in Lancaster. York desperately needs a Harvest for the consistent quality, seasonal flavors and overall high rating

Another very overdue review (kindergarten teacher life! ), but this one is especially special…read morebecause Bert and the Elephant became part of our wedding story long before our wedding day. About a year before our wedding, my husband and I were exploring Lancaster as a potential wedding location. While walking down the street, I spotted a giant pink elephant. For those who don't know me, Delirium is my all-time favorite beer, and its logo is a pink elephant, so of course, it immediately caught my attention. When we walked inside, and I realized it was a Belgian beer bar and restaurant, I was absolutely ecstatic. Bert, the owner, noticed how excited we were, and we started talking. Bert is incredible! He is so knowledgeable about all of his different beers and cares about every single detail. He even has a different glass for almost every beer because, to him, the details matter. But what really stood out was how he treats people. Bert makes you feel like family. Before we left that day, he even gifted me a little ceramic pink elephant straight from his decor. I was absolutely giddy, and I still have that little elephant proudly displayed in my home today. I knew right then and there that we had to have our after-party at Bert and the Elephant. And we did! We were able to rent out the entire place for two hours after our wedding. We had an open bar for the first hour and delicious finger foods for a late-night snack. I'm sure you're thinking, "That must have been insanely expensive," but it wasn't! And it was the perfect location, right down the street from our hotel, so everyone could walk there easily. Our wedding day fell during a heatwave, and unfortunately, the heat definitely affected how many people could make it to the after-party. Everyone was exhausted from the day, but Bert and his staff still made sure that everyone who came had an amazing time. They were welcoming and attentive, making the night feel so special. Bert and the Elephant turned out to be the perfect way to end our wedding night. What started as a random pink elephant catching my eye on a walk through Lancaster turned into one of my favorite wedding memories. We are so grateful to Bert and his staff for helping us end the night with great drinks, delicious food, and even better memories.
