    Fried oysters with Cajun fries

I've driven by this place 200 times before I managed to finally step in the door. The interior was very clean and the staff was friendly. I wasn't in the mood for a seafood bag and didn't wanna get messy, so proceeded with the fried oysters basket. It was a risky choice, but the oysters were very tasty. Fries were seasoned well. Everyone else at the table got the seafood bags and were raving about them. I'll have to be prepared to get messy next time.

The food and service were great. My kids and I stopped here for dinner. It was about $102, including tip. I don't eat meat, so I had veggies. The restaurant was clean. I enjoyed the decor. Our food was hot and fresh. I didn't care for the mozzarella sticks, but the other food and service still made a great score.

There are a lot of these type of places popping up. I didn't really have the desire to try one, but decided to give it a shot when a friend told me it was worth it and one popped up close to me. It's usually pretty busy on the weekends, so I opted to go in a random Tuesday. It was pretty dead inside. We were sat right away and our server was super friendly. They have a decent bar selection with a menu of cocktails. They have a few draft beers too. We opted for the Black and Res combo which was crab legs, lobster, shrimp, and mussels. The combo came with corn on the cob and potatoes. We opted to try it "juicy style" with medium heat. Our foot was ready in mere minutes (which was a little odd). We were given a bucket for shells. Gloves, napkins, bibs, wet wipes, scissors, and crackers. Everything was really really good. At one point the sever asked if we needed a box and we politely declined as we knew we were pounding everything in the pan. If you are looking for a good seafood boil in a landlocked state, this is the place!

We were looking for lunch in the Sunnyside Road area which was not the usual spot. We did not want to wait a long time to get food and was unsure if Juicy Seafood had a lunch special and could serve up good food quick which was our 2 requirements on this day. Juicy Seafood used to be a Bob Evans restaurant. Slated to open December 2021, they finally opened January 2022. I remember driving pass when it was closing and figured that it would not become another restaurant anytime soon since the Pendleton Pike area seemed to be growing slowly. When I saw the banner for Juicy Seafood, I thought that it was a smart move since the there was no other seafood boil restaurant in the area for it to compete with. This was my first visit to any Juicy Seafood. I was surprised at how different the resturant looked from when it was a Bob Evans. After being greeted by the hostess, we asked if we could sit in the bar area for speed service. There are about 3 booth areas in the bar area and the bar area has a 5-6 bar seats. A full service bar with a few signature cocktails are featured. John was a bartender/server was very quick at taking our order and bring it to us. The ladies' restroom was out of soap and the young lady at the front desk promptly made sure it was taken care of. Because I as delayed ordering my food, I would say that it is a good place for lunch because we were out in less than 1 hour still. I ordered a friend shrimp basket with 6 shrimp with waffle sweet potato fries and my SO ordered the fried catfish basket with cajun seasoned fries. At less than $10 for lunch, it's a deal. To top off the lunch I ordered the long island ice tea that John told me was on special for the day. For my 1st time ever visiting a Juicy Seafood, I definitely would visit again especially for lunch because of the specials and quick service.

This used to be a Bob Evans and you can tell from the outside, but they did a great job updating the interior. I liked the dark, relaxing atmosphere inside. I've never eaten at a seafood boil before, so I didn't know what to expect. I ordered the shrimp with heads off, corn, and potatoes. It all came out super quick, (almost too quick, like it was already ready somehow) in a puffed up steaming bag. Then, you kind of just dig in. Everything tasted good. I had asked what seasonings were best and they recommended a blend of all 3 (the Juicy Special.) I knocked off one star because I believe they overcharged me for the potatoes that I thought came with the meal.

I ordered the fish and chips and a salad and it came out to be around $25. After about a 20 minute wait I walked over to pick it up. It wasn't quite ready when I arrived so I took a seat and soaked up the space. The restaurant itself was nice with a very obvious nautical theme. They had booth seating and tables as well as a small patio out front. The staff wasn't the most welcoming but I was just in and out so it was fine. Once I got back to my room I dug right in, as I was starving after a 3 hour drive from Columbus, Ohio. The first thing I noticed was that I forgot to ask for ketchup for my fries when I asked for utensils. And I'm so glad I remembered to ask for utensils, otherwise that would have gotten messy really quick. It would be really nice if the staff asked about those things for takeout orders. The next thing I noticed was that my fried fish was already soggy. Given that it wasn't ready when I arrived and only five-ish minutes passed between them handing it to me and when I started eating, I was surprised. That said, the parts that were crispy were nice and their tartar sauce was super good. The fries also had a nice seasoning on them. Overall, the experience was fine, which is why I landed on a solid three stars.

We asked to sit at the sushi bar so we could interact with the sushi chefs but, after being in our seats 10 minutes with no greeting or acknowledgement from the sushi guys we asked our waitress, Moira, who said they don't do that here. . By the way and more importantly, Moira greeted us right away and did everything to make us comfortable including allowing us to move to the patio. It's great out here and they've done a good job trying to hide the traffic on 116th. Here are my impressions: Seating, very comfortable and much nicer than I thought. Ambiance, higher end than I thought after seeing photos Wine, the Sancerre was light, not too sweet, and delicious, nice finish. Seaweed salad, delicious! Delmonte roll, Toro (tuna belly!) absolutely wonderful and I enjoyed it to the last bite. Lobster roll, lots of lobster in a light dressing of kimchi mayo on top of the veggie roll. Presentation, all of the dishes came out looking very appetizing. Dessert, Lemon Possette, is fabulous! Custard like but creamier/looser towards the bottom with jam and fresh tanneries on top. It's difficult to stop eating! Chris, the owner, took the time to stop at our table and have a lovely conversation with us and we're so glad he created this touch of Monterey (CA) here in central Indiana. This restaurant is a definite thumbs up!

She took great care of us even with a fee hiccups (that weren't her fault). Salt had such fun instagram promos for this event which is what brought us here! My only note is that if something is being advertised there should be enough to go around. The restaurant only had what seemed to be 5 food tower stands and the event menu had the wrong dessert listed. That said, our waitress was able to get us a tower stands eventually, and the dessert misprint wasn't communicated to her until after we ordered. Again, not her fault at all - she was an absolute doll and really saved the experience and made it enjoyable! Highly recommend going and trying the lemon drop martini, sushi and kung poa shrimp!! I started with a half wedge salad that had a perfect blue cheese dressing. The 16oz bone-in ribeye was cooked perfectly to order and well seasoned with a pat of herb butter melting on top. The parmesan risotto was perfectly cooked. There was a tiny bowl of some kind of yummy gravy-looking sauce that served as a steak sauce. I honestly have no idea what it was but it added a fusion of flavor to the already amazing steak. We also had the salmon and Brussels sprouts. The salmon was flakey and edges were crispy. Dipping it in the orange blossom honey sauce on the side added a complexity to a common dish. While the prices are on the high end, I don't mind paying well for great food and service. I can't wait to return to try some other menu items.

The booths aren't the most comfortable, but the overall atmosphere is relaxed and pleasant. The $5 Coronas are a great deal, and my go-to order is the Juicy Special. It has a little kick to it, so if you're sensitive to spice, keep that in mind--but I think the flavor is worth it. I especially loved the lobster, sausage, black mussels, and frog legs. Everything was flavorful, and the seafood was delicious. There are some good deals on the menu if you're looking to keep the cost down. However, if you're dining with your partner and both of you order lobster or other premium seafood, plan on spending around $100 or more. For me, it's worth it for a nice seafood dinner. Don't worry if cracking the seafood seems intimidating--they provide scissors and seafood tools at the table to make it much easier. And don't forget to put on the plastic gloves and apron before you dig in, because things can definitely get messy! The plant power comes with a generous amount of corn, boiled potatoes, and broccoli. The boiled eggs were overcooked, though, and they were too hot to eat for awhile, though. They burned my fingers! I loved the flavor and didn't think it was spicy at all, though. I was worried that the veggie plate would be underwhelming in comparison to the seafood boils that everyone else ordered but I think I actually enjoyed it the most lol Since they knew we were celebrating my boyfriend's birthday, they gave a gift card for $15 off his next visit.
