I don't get a chance to eat seafood as much as I like but a few years ago I found out that a seafood restaurant was literally around the corner from my house. I took the attitude that since it was so close I could eat there anytime. The weather was cold and didn't feel like going out so I got a to go order of one of the specials that included two crab clusters, shrimp, potatoes, corn, sausage, and lobster tails. Everything was absolutely amazing! It was more than enough for 3 people and the Cajun sauce was to die for. I sat done for five minutes expecting the order to take 20 minutes or so and 3 minutes the order comes out nice hot and fresh. I will definitely need to reconsider my priorities and take advantage of this nearby seafood restaurant on Pendleton Pike. read more

Host service not great! Ambiance is ok. Booths and tables and good music. Not too loud. Didn't appreciate that she told me it would be ready and get there and it wasn't. Also, The Mr. Captain is the better deal than what she told me. She had me get the lunch special. It comes with a lot less for only a few dollars less. I went here for a first date and it was so much fun! We started with an appetizer of raw oysters! Very good! For my main I got the combo with scallops and shrimp with the head. I'm not sure why, but the shrimp with head is cheaper than headless. And I personally think the head adds flavor when cooked. I got it with the glaring butter and Cajun with medium heat. It was so good! I love a low country boil and this just hit the spot! My date got the combo with the crab legs and crawfish with the same seasoning and heat. We did swap one of each to get to try more. Crawfish and crab legs were also good! It's messy, but you get everything you need. Service was good! I liked our server. I'm excited to see this brand expanding. I visited their Beech Grove location and liked it. So I found an opportunity to visit another thinking it would align with my first visit. Unfortunately-it was not. Service was ok. Food came out fast. At first, I was concerned it was a little too fast, but everything was cooked through. I love to see they offer broccoli on their lunch menu but it isnt included. You get lots of broccoli-for an up charge but mine was overcooked sadly and a bit mushy. I'm going to give a second try. I've driven by this place 200 times before I managed to finally step in the door. The interior was very clean and the staff was friendly. I wasn't in the mood for a seafood bag and didn't wanna get messy, so proceeded with the fried oysters basket. It was a risky choice, but the oysters were very tasty. Fries were seasoned well. Everyone else at the table got the seafood bags and were raving about them. I'll have to be prepared to get messy next time. read more

Went In alone, was sat promptly and sat at a table for over 20 minutes. I watched servers walk past me over and over never asking if I wanted water, appetizers or anything. There are a lot of these type of places popping up. I didn't really have the desire to try one, but decided to give it a shot when a friend told me it was worth it and one popped up close to me. It's usually pretty busy on the weekends, so I opted to go in a random Tuesday. It was pretty dead inside. We were sat right away and our server was super friendly. They have a decent bar selection with a menu of cocktails. They have a few draft beers too. We opted for the Black and Res combo which was crab legs, lobster, shrimp, and mussels. The combo came with corn on the cob and potatoes. We opted to try it "juicy style" with medium heat. Our foot was ready in mere minutes (which was a little odd). We were given a bucket for shells. Gloves, napkins, bibs, wet wipes, scissors, and crackers. Everything was really really good. At one point the sever asked if we needed a box and we politely declined as we knew we were pounding everything in the pan. We were looking for lunch in the Sunnyside Road area which was not the usual spot. We did not want to wait a long time to get food and was unsure if Juicy Seafood had a lunch special and could serve up good food quick which was our 2 requirements on this day. Juicy Seafood used to be a Bob Evans restaurant. Slated to open December 2021, they finally opened January 2022. I remember driving pass when it was closing and figured that it would not become another restaurant anytime soon since the Pendleton Pike area seemed to be growing slowly. When I saw the banner for Juicy Seafood, I thought that it was a smart move since the there was no other seafood boil restaurant in the area for it to compete with. This was my first visit to any Juicy Seafood. I was surprised at how different the resturant looked from when it was a Bob Evans. After being greeted by the hostess, we asked if we could sit in the bar area for speed service. There are about 3 booth areas in the bar area and the bar area has a 5-6 bar seats. A full service bar with a few signature cocktails are featured. John was a bartender/server was very quick at taking our order and bring it to us. The ladies' restroom was out of soap and the young lady at the front desk promptly made sure it was taken care of. Because I as delayed ordering my food, I would say that it is a good place for lunch because we were out in less than 1 hour still. I ordered a friend shrimp basket with 6 shrimp with waffle sweet potato fries and my SO ordered the fried catfish basket with cajun seasoned fries. At less than $10 for lunch, it's a deal. To top off the lunch I ordered the long island ice tea that John told me was on special for the day. For my 1st time ever visiting a Juicy Seafood, I definitely would visit again especially for lunch because of the specials and quick service. read more

This used to be a Bob Evans and you can tell from the outside, but they did a great job updating the interior. I liked the dark, relaxing atmosphere inside. I've never eaten at a seafood boil before, so I didn't know what to expect. I ordered the shrimp with heads off, corn, and potatoes. It all came out super quick, (almost too quick, like it was already ready somehow) in a puffed up steaming bag. Then, you kind of just dig in. Everything tasted good. I had asked what seasonings were best and they recommended a blend of all 3 (the Juicy Special.) I knocked off one star because I believe they overcharged me for the potatoes that I thought came with the meal. read more

We went to Juicy on Pendleton Pike for dinner recently and it was a disaster!! We ordered the Fire Starter, I believe that was the menu name. This seafood boil was pretty bad. The mussels were old tasting and tough, we sent them back twice. The shrimp in the seafood boil were marginal; seemed like they were held over from lunch. The King crab was great but the one leg was small. The snow crab legs were small as well. The veggies (corn and potato) were pretty good. All in all, for the price we paid for this meal, it was pretty bad, even a disaster. Should have known something was wrong due to the speed in which we received our meals, it was so fast. Don't get me wrong, I am all for a speedy delivery of my food but this was too fast. There is no way a seafood boil could have been prepared that quickly! Something is wrong in the kitchen at this Juicy location. The saving grace was the staff!! The Hostess was pleasant, she seated us promptly and gave good information on the Juicy tipping policy so there would be no confusion once the bill was received. The wait staff was good also. Our waitress was very pleasant and very knowledgeable about the menu items. Additionally, she was always near when we needed her (sweet lady). If you read a bad review, it's never the food. People don't like the service the music is too loud, ect. Let me tell you me and my husband go there on average 2-3 times a month for lunch or dinner for the last year. We have NEVER EVER had bad food there. Ever. Crab legs you get at other restaurants.. the joint meat is untouchable smelly green goo. Not here. It's perfect. The seasoning is perfect. It is in fact juicy. Way juicy. We normally order raw oysters, muscles, crab, crawfish... so can't testify on the fried food. We have never had terrible service, but we are usually never in a hurry either. We like the music. It's fun. The servers are usually young, but nice. If you like flavorful Cajun seafood.. this is the place. We have also been around Indy to others and this is hands down the best. Hands down. I placed an order online for pick up. When I arrived their internet had gone down. We tried to run my card 4 times but got "Connection Error" each time. The owner (he said he was standing in for his manager) called his tech support. This took 10 or so minutes. He then told me his tech guy was coming to the restaurant. He arrived and went back to an office. When he reappeared 10 or more minutes later he said I would have to provide my credit card information on his personal phone. Friday I ordered the lemon pepper wings and garlic butter corn. Omg it was delicious. Maddie was a great server. That corn! Make you wanna slap somebody! The music was great also. Then on Monday I came back and ordered 12 lemon pepper wings for me and my son as a to go order with corn. This time the chicken was OVER COOKED and hard.. chicken was a thumbs down experience. I was given more drums and it was suppose to be 6 of each. (Flats and drums) The corn was still good. Maybe they had a different cook but I was greatly disappointed. There was ONE TABLE seated in the entire restaurant and they told us it would be a 20 minute wait. When I asked them why the hostess said it was because they only had 1 server and 1 bartender working and the bartender also had to make all the drinks (duh). I know it's hard to get/keep staff right now and I rarely ever leave a negative review. I worked in the service industry for 15+ years and I know this is a difficult time, but this is absolutely ridiculous. When they first opened I felt like the food tasted fresh and hot but today I ordered the special that came with sausage, one snow crab cluster, eggs, potatoes and shrimp and none of it tasted right. At least pick out the bad looking potatoes and not serve to customers. My eggs were over done and had that green ring on the yolk. My snow crab was so small I barely got any meat out of it. To begin with let me say that the waitress was pretty good. But we weren't giving any utensils to eat with at all. When I asked for them they told me there was a shortage and that they did not have enough for all customers. When I asked for manager he tried to explain to me that him and his wife eat with their hands so he didn't think it was a problem that they had a shortage. After a while the head manager came out and said they have cases of them in the office and that wasn't true. Having food brought to you that is not hot seems to be a problem for me. It wasn't even warm/hot. Also I got four tiny pieces of a piece of a catfish that had no taste whatsoever. Not 4 pieces of fish. It was like they cut up one filet into 4 pieces. Also the onion rings had no flavor to them as well. So overall I wouldn't suggest this restaurant to anyone based off of the price that they're asking. Because it's not worth it.
