Hands down the best experience I have ever had at any automotive repair facility. Not only are these guys front face value down to earth gentlemen, they are knowledgeable and courteous as well. Brought my Mercedes E500 into them with some hesitation, considering I am use to the MB dealership up in my state of CT before I moved to Austin. Needed an oil change, done in a jiffy, and explained/showed me that my rear brake light bulb was out. They ordered the part and took care of everything. Whether it be a simplistic repair or a more complex job, I feel 100% certain I will be back for any and all repairs and or maintenance needed on this car or future vehicles, however long my stay here in Austin becomes. This place is awesome. I came to get something called a "Buyers Check". They check out the car you're thinking about buying and will look it over to make sure it's not a lemon or it has issues that will be a nightmare later. Everyone was super nice and the report was super detailed. They even told me that if my car didn't pass their inspection they would only charge a fraction of what the "buyers check cost". Just to follow up on my previous review...I was quoted $1400 at Juke Auto to replace an ac compressor after already spending close to $1200 at this place plus another $600 to replace an ac hose that didn't even fix my ac...I took my car to Meineke instead and the guy said there's nothing wrong with my ac compressor. He said Juke auto didn't diagnose my vehicle correctly and Meineke had my ac working just fine when I left and it only cost me $180. So either Juke Auto was trying to take my money or they have incompetent people working there. Either way you're better off going somewhere else. When I took my car in to juke I had two problems: the car was over heating and the heater did not work. They quoted me at $2700 to do the repairs plus "other preventative repairs". They were nice and I thought I could trust them so I agreed. When I got my car back it still over heated and the heater still didn't work, this is unacceptable. I took it back in hopes that they would actually fix the problems. Upon getting it back the second time I payed only $120 for the repairs and this time the car did not over heat but the heater still did not work. This means I payed 2700$ for meaningless repairs that did not fix my problems then I paid only $120 to stop my car from overheating. Why would I want to take my car in for a third in an attempt to fix the heater when it wasn't done on the first or second? I will not be returning to juke auto. -upon getting my car back none of the problems I had were fixed and I paid $2700. -upon getting my car back the second time only one of the problems was fixed and I paid $120. -I will not be taking my car back. -how could you return a car without ensuring the problems are actually fixed. These fellas left my car unlocked after they worked on it, and as it was parked outside their garage that night, I had my battery sliced out and stolen. when i showed up the next day, they looked at their shoes and whistled as i couldn't start my f*cking car, and offered me....you guessed it...full price on a new battery. oh and juke (i guess it was juke) for my trouble made a comment about me having some laundry in my back seat and how it was "unseemly". yeah, but no, juke. (this happened a few years ago but you absolutely deserve this review bomb for what you did to me. I've gone to Juke's for 10+ years for all my auto repair issues. The service staff and mechanics have gone beyond the extra mile to take care of me with all the different vehicles I've had. They truly stand behind their work 100%. They operate with the highest integrity. I've recommended quite a few people over the years and I get the same responses. That they are extremely honest. They don't do any unnecessary work and do everything they can to get the best price possible. They even give you a ride to wherever you need after you drop off your vehicle. I've taken my car in twice, and both time they specifically mentioned that they "topped up my fluids". The first time they missed the wiper fluid, which okay, that can happen. The second time my car was getting a bit harder to steer, so I asked them specifically to top up my power steering fluid, and they said "oh yeah we'll definitely do that". After picking my car up, it was still hard to steer, and once I went to autozone and filled up the power steering fluid myself, it was fine. Why tell me that they're gonna top up my fluids if they aren't going to do it? I'm relying on them telling me the truth, and I've sadly been misled twice now. read more

For the past year and a half I have only used them for any of my mechanic needs. Today was no different. When the repairs were about to take longer than anticipated they drove me to my meeting and offered to pick me up after the meeting and bring me back or pay for my Uber. Wow! This place is a scam. They talk very friendly to people but they are put to get anything they can out of you. Just like a typical bad news Automotive shop, meaning you take it there for a brake job you know you 100% need repaired and then Juke and his employees "do you a favor" and find a long list of repairs you need or are gonna need. I realize my car needs to be maintained but why try to scare me into doing repairs sooner than they need to be done. Just another "you need all these repairs" kind of shop. Also I had stuff I left in my car that went missing after they worked on it and when I asked service advisor about it he acted like I was crazy although I know what I left in my car and went missing after being in Juke Automotive. Very shady shop and it's even on a street called shady lane, how appropriate when it comes to these shysters. I recommend to save yourself from being charged about 50 to 60 percent more than everywhere else for same kind of work and not to get your car gone thru and stuff taken that other people seem to like and want. Bad news shop and I hope you dont get ripped off by them as I have a 2 of my other friends have. It used to be a good place but once they moved to new location the whole place has went down hill really quick and isn't a place you want to be part of. Worst thing about them is they will treat you so nice and talk on the phone to you even nicer but once they got your car in their shop for a repair, get out your wallet and most likely your girlfriends or wife's purse because you will be paying top dollar for less than normal or even low end repairs. Do yourself a favor and stay away, if you find yourself by Jukes just make the turn and go get an expensive milk shake from Dan's Hamburgers and you will come out with a way better deal than getting taken by Juke and his goon squad. read more

I was recommended to this shop from someone who lives in East Austin. My front brakes were metal on metal....bad! Every brake light on the dash on bad! The bid to fix my brakes and wash out the brake system was 1/3 of the cost to have my back brakes done at Lamb's Automotive. I'm mentioning Lamb's, because, the job was fine, but didn't need to be that expensitve. This is my mechanic now! Great price, great service...the people are cool! You tube and I replaced an ignition switch that would have otherwise cost me $430 from one of the city's highest rated and most 'honest' auto repair shops-Juke Auto. Part cost me $55 at auto zone and took me all of 30 min to complete with my very basic set of tools. The guys were at least very personable and even gave me a ride back home(hence the 1 star) but 'honest'? I think not and the proofs in the pics below. My partner and I have been long time customers of Jukes, and we've never had a bad experience, but what happened the other day was incredible! I came in with the problem with my tire knowing that they're not really a tire shop and that they were in the middle of their busy work week. After only a few minutes the super nice guy that came up to meet me said he was going to go get his tire guy. This tire guy was the best tire guy ever! He couldn't have been more than 17 but was so courteous and so kind. I could even tell with his mask on that he was smiling the whole time. It was an easy fix for him and he literally ran over to his work bench and ran all the way back and fixed everything and under a minute. Not only that, when he saw that I was curious he explained how I could do it myself next time if I needed to. After that he asked if I would pull around so he could go ahead and air up all of my tires for me. Of course I graciously did, and then he taught me something else new! I never knew how to properly identify the PSI for my tires until he showed me that it was by the VIN number on the inside of my door. I've always wondered why the PSI on my tires seem way too high! Maybe we live in a time where our expectations of customer service are so low that we get excited when people are actually just doing their job, and happily (good sign of good employer), but I promise you this was up and beyond anything I've experienced in a very long time. This kid's name was Aaron and he was just absolutely the best. He took his time to explain what I had questions for but also really expedited the repair and at the end of it yelled out for me to have a nice day and wave to me as I went inside. Once inside a guy named Bo help me. I'm pretty surprised that I didn't recognize either of these folks but they acted just like they were Juke veterans. This nice guy went ahead and didn't charge me for the repair because it was so quick and easy. Then he proceeded to help me schedule an oil change and give me advice on two other cars that I have at home. During times like this you don't expect anybody to do more than the bare minimum, but he actually engaged me with questions and legitimately helped me out a lot. Furthermore when I asked about repairing the handles to my back two doors on my car he expressed that it would be difficult work but that if I'm good with tinkering with things it should be no problem for me to be able to tackle it. As a woman it's super rare that a man will ask if you like to fix things and then rest you assured that you would be able to do such a job well. Keep it up Jukes! I've come to expect excellence from you and I haven't been disappointed yet! :-) Aaron and Bo really did go up and beyond on one of the hottest days in Texas history. I have taken my PT Cruiser to Juke's many a times for both minor and major repairs (replacement of clutch/master and slave cylinder, transmission replacement, etc). Every time they have been nothing but professional, trustworthy, and great to deal with. All their technicians are very friendly and give you all the information you need. They're very patient and good at explaining issues. Numerous times they've done diagnoses on issues and told me directly what absolutely needed to be fixed and what I could avoid fixing at the time (so they weren't selling me on repairs I didn't need and were helping me stay within my budget at the time). They've also always been able to take my car in, whether I scheduled an appointment or not, and get to it very quickly. Additionally, all the repairs are done quickly and with great communication (they always call to keep me posted about the status and when it's estimated to be finished). They also have always offered to give me a ride back home / to where I need to go after dropping my car off. They've also gone far and above what I would expect on several occasions. Once, when my car was in for a while (getting the master and slave replaced after my clutch was replaced), they gave me a loaner car to drive. Another time, after doing some repairs, I had gotten in my car to leave and it wouldn't start as the battery was dead. They so kindly got a new battery and replaced it, only charging me for the battery, not labor, as they felt bad that I had just gotten my car back and couldn't drive it (something that wasn't their fault!) This last time that I brought my car in, they did a cursory inspection (I already knew what the issue was) to confirm the diagnosis (it still involved getting into the car and taking some things apart -- ie not a visual inspection), and called me immediately to let me know the severity of the problem. Rick gave me great advice and was very kind/patient in giving me time to do research and make a decision on doing the repair vs. using the money as a down payment on a new car. I had asked around via Yelp to find a mechanic shop that A. Won't rip me off B. Will not charge me an grotesque amount for crap I don't need C. Have good prices D. Are honest A fellow yelper named Rawhide told me up with Juke Auto. He highly recommend them (see his review) and they were luckily not a far trek from my house. I called and scheduled an appointment for a few days later. I used their night drop off services because my car was the first appointment on their schedule the following morning. The drop off at night was super easy and had no problems there. I waited until noon and gave them a call to get a status update on my car. The tech was super friendly and explained that they did a pre inspection of the car to look for other faulty things and wanted to call me back after they finish up with that quote. The tech true to his word called back within 30-40 mins. He sent it to my email address and explained that they aren't anything that is super vital but are some things that will need to be addressed in the near future. He even included prices for those services and replacement parts. One thing that will need to be replace he said since it will cost a lot and why don't I wait about 6 months and have them reinspect it to see if it can hold off longer or needed to be done then. I thought wow this guy didn't pressure me to buy anything at that moment in time and even recommended that I come in for another inspection before I tell them to do the service. read more

Stopped in to Juke Auto for a "pre-purchase inspection". They conducted a thorough check of a car I was considering purchasing. Not only did they do a fantastic job, the service was very inexpensive since the vehicle failed the inspection. My initial introduction to this location was about a year ago when I arrived in Austin. My experience with private repair facilities throughout the country is extensive. This shop is very impressive and their knowledge of repairs leans towards cutting edge. My casual conversation with one of the techs revealed that they do a lot of training in California which helps them maintain such a high standard of quality repairs. There is no doubt I'll keep coming back to Juke Auto for repairs, in or out of warranty. read more

I want to say up front that it seems that Juke does a good job with repairs/maintenance, but it is customer service that lacks. I had already decided I wasn't going to go back to Juke because of a bad customer service experience, but two weeks after that bad experience my catalytic converter got stolen, and I hadn't found a new mechanic. So, I began working with Juke. After all, they have great reviews so maybe my experience was an anomaly. It wasn't. In short, I had never had to file an insurance claim before, and my point person, Ken, did not give me all the information that he should have about what it means to file a claim. In fact, he gave me no information about the process at all. He recommended I get a new part (which I believe was right after doing my own research), but he didn't confer with my insurance company, which I now know he should have. My insurance only approves after market parts, which I only learned after I ordered the new part. In the end, because of the poor communication from Ken (and frankly, my insurance company), I ended up having to pay over $2200 out of pocket for the repair. AND to top it off, Juke was supposed to assess all the damage and as it turns out, the plastic vent on the front of the car was damaged in the theft, and Juke did not repair it or report it to the insurance company (I hardly drive and just noticed this a week later). I get it is the pandemic and they're busy, but this is all unacceptable and I will never go back to Juke. read more

This is the most reliable, honest, and trustworthy shop in Austin. I'll tell you from experience... the guys are not trying to just get your money. I had $800 in repairs that needed done, and am slowly getting them done $200 at a time. After the first visit, which didn't really solve the heart of an issue, Juke personally called to check up and see what they can do in terms of improvement and to discuss the car issues with me. This guy knows his stuff! And they're genuinely there to help you if you need it. Whether you're getting your car repaired or need to buy a new car, they will help you out every step of the way. I had originally taken my 2006 Toyota SUV to a dealer to inspect a horrible exhaust system problem that was causing my car to sound like a Harley Davidson roaring down the street. Toyota quoted me $2500 to replace a broken tailpipe. Juke fixed the issue, without me having to replace anything, for under $100 bucks. The entire staff and crew were friendly. accommodating, and super-professional. They even gave me a ride back to my apartment while the car was being worked on. (Thanks Rod!) I was so happy to go to Juke Auto. I lived in East Austin at the time, and everyone is so obsessed with them I thought "how could something go wrong?" My car had overheated, and I needed to know what was up. They fixed something, it wasn't cheap, and I left the next day feeling pretty good about my car. I drove straight to work, and got stranded on the side of the highway with my car overheated. Oh....actually, it wasn't the first thing, it's this thing too. (Unfortunately, I wish I could prove I didn't need the first thing, but I don't know enough about cars.) Let's fix that too. I didn't really get much of an apology, but I figured whatever at least this will be over now. I drive to work the next day after getting it fixed the second time, and the car overheats yet again. After this 3rd time in the shop, I realize the second part that was needed was actually a used part, without my knowledge. I have no problem with keeping costs down, and it's well known that mechanics will use used parts to keep the bill small and the customer happy. But I do expect to know when this is happening, and what the new part might cost me in relation. Since the used part had malfunctioned, I did get another one for free. I just want everyone to know that this isn't a 5-star place every time. Maybe 5 star to the people that have given reviews, but I would expect way more out of this place. I feel that I got treated poorly and received little to no apologies for my car breaking down twice with the same problem they said they fixed the first time. Not horrible, not great. I paid way too much to have to return to have something fixed a second time, and then recharged for the replacement part. They gave me "free labor" this returning time, but honestly, I feel like they wasted my time (several days without transportation, and not fixing the problem I came in for), and I shouldn't have had to pay squat. The 4 days I left my car the first time, as well as over $500, should have been enough time to reasonably fix everything. The only reason I am giving this place 3 stars is because out of all the shitty mechanics I've been to, this one wasn't as bad. The staff is "cool" I suppose. I'm happy to report that Juke came into my life via Yelp. Didn't know the place existed until I searched on the app. And lo and behold, I now have a mechanic I feel I can trust. (Found my water heater guy via Yelp search too, a 5 star experience). Took the car to Juke for a maintenance check. $75 to walk thru the entire car. Then they call you and break it down into needs to be done immediately, it can wait or skip it. Took my car in on a Wednesday afternoon and had it back Friday midday. That's with replacing the oil pan gasket, new plugs, new drive belt and some other sundry items. All that for less than a grand. Don't know for sure, but feel like it would have been north of the 1k mark pretty much anywhere else. Really enjoyed dealing with these guys. Everyone had a smile on their face and seemed happy to be there. No small feat. How much is trust actually worth? Pretty priceless if you ask me. Juke gets 4 instead of 5 stars for what may be a paltry reason. After I paid the bill and got my car, the check engine light was on. They fixed it lickety split, but it wasn't exactly the warm and fuzzy I was looking for after dropping a G in the place. However, I understand that sometimes shit happens and is definitely not a deal breaker. read more

I've been here twice. Both times these guys were friendly, and their prices reasonable. But I do have a minor gripe. They do not have their own parking lot that I know of, just street parking. I recently dropped my car off for an oil change, and to have the brakes checked out. They kept it overnight, and when I picked it up the next day, I was happy to learn that the brakes were alright, and I paid for the oil change. Then I walked over to the next block where my car was parked by an elementary school, and noticed a large scratch on the door. And that's why I'm here. I kind of feel like Juke is responsible for the scratch, since it happened while my car was in their care. But it wasn't really under their care once it was parked back out on the street after the work had been done. I did call and tell them about the scratch, and they recognized it for the tricky situation it is. Donny referred me to a nearby paint place that he told me would treat me right. I didn't really know what that meant until I went there and learned that it would cost 250 to get the scratch painted over. Don't really know if that's getting treated right or not, as I know nothing about paint labor. I think Juke Auto is great, but the more I look at that scratch that I don't have the money to fix, the more I'm left feeling like they should take care of it, since the car didn't have a scratch when I dropped it off. read more

Most of the right side of my Corolla was smashed up. I brought it to Juke Auto. They gave me an estimate that was only 2% higher than another highly-rated body shop in town. Of course, none of the other auto shops in town have 285 Yelp reviews that average FIVE stars. After 13 days or so, my car was finished and ready for pickup. It looks even better than before. I would trust Juke Auto for future mechanical repairs as well. In fact, they did such a fantastic job at a good price that I am even contemplating taking my parents' cars from Houston here. The staff also exudes honesty and integrity. The prices are very reasonable--especially for being in East Central. Even if you live way up North, you should seriously consider taking your car here--it'll be in the best hands. There's a Japanese coffeeshop (Sa-Ten) nearby that the staff can drop you off at while you wait for your car repair. The waiting room at Juke Auto is also really nice--enclosed by glass, stocked with coffee and water, magazines, and a toy for bored kiddos. If you drop off your car here, you can take the 350 (Airport) Capital Metro bus which has bus stops at the Airport and Shady intersection. Try not to take the 300 (Govalle) bus down unless you don't mind walking half a mile, occasionally a few feet from fast-moving cars, and down unpaved pathways strewn with broken glass and other trash. read more

I went to Juke Auto because I was concerned about my brakes a couple years back and definitely did not have the best experience. I am not sure if it was just a very busy time for them or what. I took my car in after researching automotive places extensively on yelp. They immediately told me that they could not look at it the first day, which was fine, I did just drop in. The second day, they finally looked at and got back to me that I would need about $600 worth of work. Ouch, but I know brake work is expensive. They also tell me that my car will be done tomorrow morning. I tell them that I need to pick it up by 11:00 at the latest since I have class at noon and need it back to drive to work in the afternoon. The next morning, I get up and go. I was living in South Central Austin at the time so I need to take two buses to Juke (obviously not Juke's fault). I get there and they are running late because the shop they farm out alignments to were having difficulties because of rust. Ultimately, they skip doing the alignment and charge me for it and make me late for class. I know other people who have had great experiences here but for whatever reason, mine wasn't great and I now go elsewhere. read more

Here's a story about me being an idiot and the dudes at Juke being awesome: My boyfriend and I bought a used pick up about a month ago. I'm usually really wary of buying used cars because I'm always afraid that I'm getting a lemon, and this was no exception. About a week after we got the truck, it wouldn't start. I immediately freaked out, wanted to call the dealer and go off for selling us a piece of crap. It turned out just to be a dead battery though, which was no big deal. But it did put me on edge. Maybe two weeks later, my boyfriend, who is the one who normally drives the truck for work, was going out of town for the weekend, so I was going to drive him to the airport. This was going to be only the second time I'd ever even driven the truck. I put my key in the ignition, turned it, and the truck wouldn't start. I tried again, no dice. The key would turn, but no start. We both freaked, but he had to be at the airport, so I just hurried him into a cab and said I'd deal with it. I ended up calling around and spoke to Juke who told me that I could have the car towed over that afternoon (a Friday) and they would have a look at it first thing Monday morning. My insurance paid for the tow, and Monday morning I called to find out what the problem was. Juke told me they weren't sure yet but thought it might be a security problem. When he said that, I immediately remembered that I had never tried to start the truck with the key I had on my key ring, I'd always used my boyfriend's keys, and that the key on my key ring wasn't an original, it was a copy. I smacked myself in the head. He said they'd call when they knew more. A couple hours later, I got another call asking if, sure enough, there was another key I could bring in to try to start the truck -- they asked me to bring "an original". DUH. I hopped the bus and headed over with the original key. I walked into the shop where three good- and tough-looking guys were working and handed one of them the key. He hopped in, put the key in the ignition and started the damn truck right up ... then all three of them laughed at me. I couldn't believe what a moron I was! I felt like the quintessential "I don't know anything about cars" girl. They were really good natured about it and pretty funny. So after having my car towed to their lot, letting it stay there for two days and then having their mechanic go over my entire starting system for two hours on a Monday morning when they had other things to work on, I figured this was going to cost me. I asked how much and the mechanic said "Aw, just tip me out $20." I couldn't believe it. I thought I was going to get taken to the cleaners and he just wanted $20! Brought my car in per all the great reviews to see if they could tell me why my cruise control wasn't working. Called on Tuesday, made an appointment for Friday morning. Dropped my car off at 6:45am on Friday with clear instructions to take a look and just tell me if my cruise control would be an easy fix or not. If it was going to be more than around $100 to fix, don't bother going any further into it. They did give me a ride home which was nice. Didn't hear back until 3pm. They said it was the cruise control console that needed to be replaced from what they could see, and quoted me $370 to fix it. I said 'no way' and headed in to pick up my car. To my dismay they charged me $80 just to diagnose the problem. Seriously? It takes about 5 minutes to test that part, but they charged me an hour of labor? Yikes. Feels a lot like a rip-off. They were VERY nice people and did check my tire pressure and top off my fluids since I had mentioned I was going on a road trip soon, but none of that is worth $80. I've certainly never been charged something like that for a quick look at something. Guess this teaches me to just stick with my regular guys at Tech One Auto. read more

I am a HUGE fan of Juke Auto. I found them on Yelp and couldn't be happier that I decided to try them out. This is the second time they have saved me a significant amount of money and headache. The first time I went in they did an assessment on my 2008 GMC Yukon with ~90k miles and let me know that I needed $3,000+ worth of work... Clearly this was not good news. However, Juke himself recommended that I not get the work done (which means he didn't get that $3,000) but instead think about trading my car in before it started to have more issues than it was worth. Based off of his advice, I traded my car in, got a nice amount in return and picked up a 2013 VW CC for a great deal. I was very impressed by his willingness to forgo revenue in order to ensure my best interests. Then last week, I was doing some off roading in my wife's Subaru when I hit a rock that made one of the worst noises I have ever heard (my wife was not happy about this). The whole drive home it continued to make a loud squealing noise and I was sure I would be out at lest $1000 for this mistake... BUT I took the car into Juke on Monday morning at 8:30 and he had one of his guys give it a look over and give me a call. By 10 he had called me and let me know that it was just a piece of rock that had gotten lodged in the wheel area and after his guy popped it out the noise was gone. And the best part about the whole situation was that Juke DID NOT charge me at all for this service. He simply asked that I tip his mechanic who fixed the issue. Again, I was deeply impressed by his honesty and his willingness to put the customer first. These acts of good business ownership just won Juke a life long customer! I love Juke Auto. I've been getting my car serviced with them since last summer after a traumatic service quote I got from my local Acura dealership - over $3K worth of problems to fix! Totally caught me off guard. I contemplated just selling my car, but a friend gave me a referral to Juke Auto and after reading the countless positive reviews online, I decided to give them a try. Long story short, I ended up paying half of what I would have at Acura. Not only that but Juke himself called me to explain what they were going to do, including giving me several price options and listing out the pros and cons of 'x' versus 'y'. It was just such a breath of fresh air to have someone explain to me everything in such detail. For the first time in my life, I felt like I could actually trust a mechanic and I've been a loyal customer ever since. And as icing on the cake... I love the shop itself. It's clean and is very well organized. Every time I've come in, I've been greeted by Hauk, who is friendly, professional, and efficient. Within five minutes, either him or one of the drivers will drop me off at Sa-Ten (great coffee shop down the street) where I can comfortably sit with my laptop and get some work done. Speaking of comfortable... Juke Auto does have a very nice, air conditioned waiting area with a clean bathroom (yeah, I am one of those people that judges a business by its bathroom). So there are definitely good options. I'm so glad to have found Juke Auto. I've already referred my entire family, several friends, and even my ex-husband (after he was also going to be ripped off at a dealership). Wait what? I had my brakes inspected a few months ago at a national chain and was told I needed them replaced. I wasn't sold on this so I waited. Heard a squeak today and took my car into Juke. I got a call an hour after I dropped my car off. I anticipated the worst because they originally said the work would take 2-3 hours. They said my brakes were fine and had a long time before replacing. I had to ask two times that I didn't need any work done. They said they could do the work but didn't see a need for it. I was shocked. An honest garage? Wow what a nice surprise. Juke said he would rather make a customer than make a quick buck. That he did. I know I will have an honest mechanic if I ever have any problems with my car. That's a good feeling to have. Highly recommend this shop! read more
