We stopped by here for brunch as it had plenty of seating compared to next door and it advertised famous cinnamon rolls in the window. The cinnamon roll was tasty - not too sweet, not too dry, not too moist - but it would have been better if it had been served warm for eat in diners. We ordered a variety of breakfast dishes, including corn beef hash (too salty even for me), calf liver (overcooked and dry), egg plate, and quiche. The egg part of the quiche was good but the crust basically uncooked. Each dish came with a biscuit, which had a great tang but interesting texture more like cornbread or coarse cake than flaky biscuit. The most annoying thing is that our food took 30-45 minutes to come out even though were were the only ones there? With no communication of the wait. They didn't even bring out the premade cinnamon roll as an appetizer until I asked. We were so hangry and were met with disappointing taste to boot. What can you say about heaven??? I love this place. It's adorable and cozy...but the owner and the decor!!! Delicious quiche and cookies to die for!!! Cinnamon buns that are both pillowy soft and also have the right amount of chewiness. Whenever I'm driving from Atlanta to Asheville I always stop by and get a little treat. This is the place to go if you want quality food and are not in a rush. Yes, it takes a while but it's so good. I see reviews complaining about slow service, but the little lady that owns the place does the cooking by herself. Stopped here on the way to Tallulah Falls for breakfast Cute tiny cafe style restaurant. Decent size menu with all the usual suspects on the menu. We had eggs, bacon, omelets, grits biscuits and gravy . The grits were perfect and light. I eat mine with syrup. I highly recommend the fresh ground sausage. My favorite was the biscuits. Doesn't look like much but this place is AMAZING. I'm not a huge breakfast fan but their cinnamon rolls are to die for. The owner is a 82 yr. old woman that makes everything from scratch, even the bread! The server I think her name is Ms. Brenda was very sweet & was very knowledgeable letting us know the best routes to take when we get up to the mountains. 100% recommend for breakfast, lunch, or just a snack. read more

I hate to give it a star at all. We just got back from eating breakfast there. We were the only ones there, but it was when it opened up. We figured that it was just early. When the server showed up for work, we gave her the order. After saying three times to bring my milk when the meal was ready. She must not have heard me because it was on the table in less than a minute. We waited for over 20 minutes before the food was done. I had one pancake that was cold and it wouldn't melt warm butter. I couldn't eat it. When we went to pay, I was floored when I was told that the bill was $35.00! I had an omelet, one pancake and a milk. My wife had a gravy biscuit and an extra patty, with a bottle water that was hot. This is way out of line for the average price of breakfast here. Yesterday we ate breakfast right next door at the Rusty Bike. Pretty much the same kind of meal, but only $20.00. We will never go back again. read more

We waited at the Rusty Bike for about 20 minutes and no one even greeted us. I had my husband go check next door at the Mountain Grill and it had no wait. The bakery had amazing breads and cinnamon rolls, and the breakfast was so tasty. We had the quiche and a Rueben. Both excellent choices! While the wait is a little longer than fast food service, you can tell it's made with love and care and the owner is the only one in the kitchen. She's worth the wait for sure! read more

Great spot for a delicious breakfast! Came here for a classic southern breakfast after a night camping nearby and left incredibly happy. Growing up in a small town in north Georgia, I sometimes miss the small-town local restaurant spots and try to find where the locals are wherever I visit. This was definitely one of those spots on a Saturday morning as the restaurant was packed. The service was great as was the food and atmosphere and I honestly can't wait to come back here for some good "home cooking" food next time I'm camping up in the hills here. read more

The breakfast is very good but it takes FOREVER to get it. The waitress is very nice but seems to get easily overwhelmed. We waited over an hour to get our food. It is also very expensive. I don't know how they stay in business with the long wait on your order. We have tried it 3 times now, thinking it was just a one-time occurrence, but it happened every time. This is a hole in the wall gem! The two ladies inside were gracious and kind. I ordered the sweet potato pancakes and an egg sunny side up. Both were absolutely perfect! The egg was cooked to perfection, and the pancakes were fluffy and hardy, without being too heavy. I need to come back and take cooking lessons from Ms. Suzy! The nice lady serving our table and the cinnamon role were the only positive of this place. The service is incredibly slow. We waited almost two hours for our food and once it came out most of our table either had the order wrong or incomplete. At this point we decided to cut our losses and are what we had. No apologies for things that were wrong or the time spent waiting. They claimed it was because we ordered different things and the one cook in the back had to go to different parts of the fridge to get the necessary items. I feel awful for writing such a scathing review but i hope i can either save some other group two hours of their life or the owner can learn from our awful experience and make the needed changes to make their business successful. read more

Absolutely loved this place. Decided to try it when all other places had long lines. It brings you back to your grandma's kitchen. I went with friends and we shared quite a few dishes, the quiche was amazing, my veggie omelette was packed with fresh spinach, peppers and mushrooms, the French toast was perfect! She didn't even bring syrup or more water after an hour of asking. The waitress brought us our checks before the other people at our table even received their food, so we ended up leaving. After paying, the waitress kept the debit card and left it on the counter, so we grabbed it on the way out. We have enjoyed breakfast next door before but decided to try the Mountain Grill this morning. We were cheerfully greeted and pleased to see that masks were worn due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The menu had many excellent choices but we began with the outstanding cinnamon roll which was worth the whole trip! The farm-fresh eggs were prepared perfectly and the grits were excellent. Came here for breakfast and waited 20+ minutes before anyone took our order, after that waited for another 40 minutes before the food arrived and my order was incomplete. Nobody talked to us while we were waiting, and while we were waiting another couple came in and it looked like there was a preferential service in this place, because their order was taken right away and they got their food and left the place before they even started making our food. Came here for a quick lunch on Sunday afternoon. Had a Reuben and hubby had a party melt. Everything was fresh and made to order.

I felt like I was having breakfast in my Nana's kitchen. Our kids had The cinnamon rolls and they were as delicious as they looked. We ordered a small tray of them to take back home! I had the egg breakfast, 2 real eggs scrambled, a really yummy sausage patty, crispy on the edges and soft in the middle, hash browns and a perfect, fluffy biscuit.
