The wine list is mostly French with a good number of choices on the menu listed as sold out. Found a Nuits St George Burgundy though at a decent price that turned out to be a stunner. We shared oysters that were mostly Washington, but since we took the last ones they threw on some Baja ones too. Both types were excellent with a lovely salmon roe sauce. Entrees were shared and the lamb was excellent albeit the olive tapenade was too noticeable. The duck cigars (taquitos?) were the star and I could have happily devoured more of these. The risotto was excellent too. Wished there was a bread service but maybe there was a paid option that I missed. Wished the lamb had some accompaniments too. I drove home and then realized I was still hungry! But the food tasted excellent, the service was top notch, and the room was lovely. Recommended! read more

He was very attentive and very knowledgeable about the menu and gave us recommendations. Unfortunately, the food did not live up to atmosphere or service. The food was rather bland both in taste and looks. There was no color in the food; in fact, they all look pretty similar. The same can be said for the taste - they all tasted similar and nothing really jumped out in terms of flavor. Given the high prices for the dishes, we expected much more. To be transparent, we ordered six dishes, one mocktail, one cocktail, and one beer, all of which totaled about $300. Note that they also add a 4% fee to every check. read more

Today was genuinely one of the worst restaurant experiences I've ever had. We made a 9:30 PM reservation around 9 PM and drove across town to eat at Juliet in LA. When we arrived, we were told the kitchen was already closed because they "didn't see" the reservation before deciding to shut everything down early. We even called right after making the reservation, but nobody answered the phone. What made the situation worse was the attitude from the host. Instead of apologizing or trying to help, he seemed annoyed that we were even there. His response was basically, "The kitchen is closed, I don't know what else to tell you," and he added that this had "never happened before." No accountability whatsoever. On top of that, the restaurant claims they validate valet, but we still had to pay $20 for parking with validation, which we paid before even parking. So we drove all the way there, paid for parking, and never even got to eat. How do you not check incoming reservations before deciding to close the kitchen early? And if the restaurant is no longer serving food, why are reservations still being accepted? Beyond disappointing. Completely unprofessional experience from start to finish. read more

Came to Juliet for my love and mine's anniversary. Dinner was spectacular! We have considered coming in to eat on multiple occasions but have shied away from Juliet's smaller menu too many times. Boy, was that a mistake. I am so glad we finally dined here because everything we experienced far surpassed my expectations. Our server Amy was an absolute gem; she was warm, knowledgeable of the menu, and guided our experience with poise and elegance. Our hostess was sweet and welcoming, wishing us a happy anniversary as well which we appreciated. The drinks and food were incredible! Literally everything we had was divine. I really did not like the food. I cake for breakfast and got the crepe suzette... it was nothing like how they prepare it in paris. Honestly I was really looking forward to trying this place especially with the michelin award but the crepe was so gummy it weirded me out and it was sticky.. Then I got the tomato toaste which would have been fine if it wasn't burnt. I felt like I wasted my money. Lastly had a raspberry matcha which is liked, but it wasn't special. Chicken liver tartlet - 2/5, the flavor is not bad, but I've had better liver mousses. The white, buttery crumbles are not the best topping, they were messy and not appealing to look at. Endives - 4/5, I really enjoyed the endives. The peppery mustard seeds dressing went really well with the blue cheese. Duck cigars - 1/5, very disappointing. They were freshly deep fried, but lacking in any kind of duck flavor. Onto the dishes that are still on the menu: Poisson Cru: 5/5 My favorite crudo of all time. The serrano oil and meyer lemon is an incredible combo. I wish I could eat this every day. I ordered this twice my first visit. I pray they never take this off the menu. Oysters: 5/5 Do oysters need roe? No, but so well balanced with the cucumber. I prefer this dressing over classic mignonette. Tarama: 5/5 A fantastic starter with bright, crisp radishes to pair with the rich cod dip. The dill oil is brilliant. The salty toast rounds it all out. Chicken Liver Tart: 3.5/5 This was so well executed, but as I keep trying, I'm not a fan of liver. So rich and buttery from the liver filling to the cheese. If that's up your alley, you should definitely order this. Poulet Roti: 5/5 If you're looking for a hearty entree, this is it. An unbelievably juicy half chicken with an umami mushroom sauce and bread that's soaked up all the flavors on the plate. Shockingly flavorful for chicken. Steak au Poivre: 5/5 Cooked to perfection. Fits my preference for a leaner cut and paired with a peppercorn sauce I asked for on the side. Served with fancy yet comforting duck fat mashed potatoes. The service is always great and what I appreciate most is their equal treatment of all customers. It's easy for restaurants of this caliber (and price) to be extremely snooty and judgemental, but the staff is consistently friendly and helpful. This alone makes Juliet a top pick and recommendation to all friends. I saw Juliet made it onto the Michelin guide and it's so deserved. The execution in the kitchen is impeccable and I'm lucky to say extremely consistent. Everything is perfectly cooked, seasoned, and plated on time. I've never had a dish arrive cold, overly salted, or sloppily plated. My only wish is that the poisson cru was always portioned the same to 8-9 pieces. The mouth feel on the thicker cuts (6 piece serving) is great, but thinner slices allow for more sauce. Juliet is well on their way to a Michelin star and I hope more people discover this gem. There's valet parking or parking along the street if you're lucky to snag one. I came here for brunch with friends and surprisingly, there weren't many people dining in. The venue is GORGEOUS, the bathrooms were clean, and I loved the open air aspect of the restaurant. Service was super duper, our server was very friendly and helpful. She explained and answered all of our questions that we had. I gotta say, they had a great Americano, I had two. I ordered the croque madam and it was super filling. The egg on top just made it so good, it was cooked perfectly. I love the cheeses and the diced up ham inside too, this is considering that I am not much of a fan of ham but this tasted amazing. We had a table order of the Assiette de Saumon but I didn't even get to try it because I was already full. We didn't even have room for dessert, what a shame. I enjoyed the Salade d'Endives, Salade Classique, and Tarama, but the chicken liver tartlet outshines the all. For entree, I got the Daurade Royale (wild sea bream) which was a decent serving size, but not as much flavor as I expected. The liver tartlet was tasty, though there was a lot going on in a bite with all the crunchy toppings. The risotto was flavorful and creamy. The duck cigar was a disappointment despite being their house special. The flavors were very subtle, perhaps too subtle that it just tasted bland overall. Even the sauce was not able to save it. Having wrapped up my fifth (at least lol?) visit to Juliet, I thought it was about time that I write a review. In simple terms, Juliet is a beautiful restaurant with delicious food, an outstanding wine list (by the glass and by the bottle), and a great staff. In a time where I avoid dining out often because I feel that most restaurants don't offer me the same value and experience as they used to, Juliet has been a spot I have frequented because each experience has been exceptional. I've dined here as a part of large groups and just with a single friend, and each time I've loved the food and service (I am bad with names, but Lauren? especially has always been so welcoming and helpful). I haven't always remembered to take photos of my food, but my favorite dishes are: -Tarama - the whipped cod dip with dill oil, radishes, and bread. Such a refreshing and satisfying starter - I get it every time. -Mousse au Foie de Volaille - Chicken liver tartlet. A delightful and dainty melt-in-your-mouth starter. -Salade d'Endives - endives, walnuts, grapes, and Roquefort. Sounds simple, but extremely satisfying flavor and texture contrasts as a starter or side. -Coquilles Saint-Jacques - seared scallops. I have tried almost all of their entrees and this is my favorite. -Madeleines au Beurre Noisette - brown butter madeleines with salted honey chantilly. The plump, moist cake with the perfectly crisp edges and the indulgent flavors - addicting and great for sharing. I know not everyone is a wine lover, but if you are, this is the restaurant. An outstanding list (seriously, check it out for yourself) with something for the casual enjoyer as well as the true wine nerd. And they are happy to help you out when you bring your own bottles as well. One of the biggest reasons I keep going back is the staff. Everyone has always been so kind and accommodating, and whenever I've asked about the menu or the restaurant, everyone seems genuinely passionate and happy to be there. Two final side notes - -They have great bathrooms, and enough of them you never have to wait -If I had to complain about anything, it would be that they are cashless, but I know I'm in the minority to complain about that. This place is absolutely brutal. Let me preface this with the fact our sever was absolutely lovely. That said, it went downhill from there. The "carafes" are small, and misleadingly priced like bottles. The food portions are laughable - like amuse bouche you would get for free. Food quality is mid. This feels like a shakedown, not a nice memorable meal. Absolutely awful experience, although the restaurant is beautiful and the music selection is great. All vibes, no substance. I was very disappointed with our experience at Juliet, especially considering the price point and the restaurant's positioning as a fine-dining destination. First, the seating was poor for our group of six. We were placed at a long table directly next to the open kitchen. The bright lights and constant noise completely disrupted the ambiance and made conversation difficult. For a restaurant that emphasizes the dining experience, this setup felt careless. The wine list was also frustrating. Instead of standard pours, wines were offered in confusing formats: half glass, full glass, larger glass, and carafe (half bottle). The menu relied on pictures rather than clear measurements, which made ordering unnecessarily complicated. Even more concerning, the prices were extremely high for the quality of wine being offered. The food itself was underwhelming. The menu descriptions were vague, and some dishes that should clearly be sides were listed as mains. For example, we ordered the zucchini "main," which turned out to be a single zucchini cut in half lengthwise and placed on a plate without sauce or any meaningful culinary presentation. At $25, it felt shockingly minimal. The $75 steak dish was also disappointing. I dine at many steak restaurants in Los Angeles and have an extensive culinary background, so I'm comfortable evaluating meat quality and preparation. I clarified with the server that medium temperature would be bright pink throughout; she even described it as having some red in the middle (essentially mid-rare). However, the steaks arrived incorrectly cooked: the medium came out medium-well, and the mid-rare came out closer to medium. The flavor was acceptable, but the meat quality itself was mediocre. Service execution also fell short. For a restaurant presenting itself as fine dining--and with us seated only a few feet from the kitchen--it should not be difficult to serve a table of six at the same time. Instead, three of us received our steaks about four minutes before the other three. Because of the awkward seating near the kitchen and the staggered service, our already overpriced dinner made it difficult to actually enjoy time catching up together. Ultimately, nothing about the experience felt special or demonstrated thoughtful hospitality. Between the poor seating, confusing wine program, underwhelming food, and lack of service coordination, the restaurant simply does not compete with many other places in Los Angeles that cost the same--or even less. Unfortunately, I have no reason to recommend this restaurant, and none of us plan to return. read more

The ambiance? 5 stars. The location? 5 stars. Came here for a work dinner with a party of 16 people. My team booked Juliet because the staff told our planners that they could accommodate vegan diets. We were ecstatic. I, the vegan, was unfortunately begging the servers to be fed. Everything from our fixed menu for my coworkers looked absolutely delicious (raw fish bites, fish dip with bread, zucchini with a koji glaze, salads, risotto, lamb chops, fish, dessert). 5 minutes after our starters came, I had to ask the staff if there were starter options for me. They weren't giving me any options and said that I have 2 dishes prepared coming later in the meal. Juliet's planned meal for me was a 10 inch zucchini and a plate of mushrooms with a sauce. I had to ask them to bring me bread with oil for my starter. During our main course, I was given the plate of mushrooms. I asked the servers if there was anything heartier that the chef could make for me while the rest of my coworkers got 3 dishes to grub from. I was hoping the chef could make some sort of rice dish given that they served risotto to the rest of the table. I was given a loaf of bread (photo attached). No dessert options were provided either. Note to the Juliet team: Please be honest with inquiring minds about your vegan "accommodations" or simply tell them you can't. This was highly disappointing. The fact that I had to l beg your servers for bread is insane considering how much $$$ we were paying per head. I could have made this exact meal for myself for $10. This is a let down and please come up with another at least 2+ vegan dishes. This is LA and it's embarrassing that you only came up with two vegan "dishes" for a "three course meal." To vegans/friends of vegans: if you're okay with just bread, zucchini and mushrooms for a meal, go for it. Otherwise - avoid this spot. To the non-vegans: enjoy! Came here on a Tuesday for a girls dinner. When I made the reservation, the GM reached out to me to ask if we needed any accommodations or if it was a special occasion which was so nice! Walking in, the interior is SO CUTE. It's one of the reasons I wanted to come here - I've driven by a couple times and always wanted to go in. Our servers were also great and super attentive. We started with a bottle of Chardonnay, the chicken liver tartlet, oysters with trout roe, and duck confit "cigars". The tartlet was delicious - crust was super light and crunchy and I loved the pairing with the apple in it. Also can't go wrong with some oysters. The trout roe added a punch of extra flavor. Duck confit cigars were like very elevated eggrolls - very tasty and satisfying to eat. For our main, we had the lamb rib chops (forgot to take picture), which were also delicious. Cooked very well and the chickpea purée with olives added creaminess and saltiness to the dish. We ended dinner with an old fashioned each, madeleines, and eclairs. Both desserts were great, but I would recommend the madeleines. The brown butter really makes a difference! I would recommend this restaurant for a date night or girls night! We were able to grab a last minute reservation on a Thursday night. We were seated promptly, but the restaurant was not very busy anyways. Service was... snooty. They were all up in our business trying to get us to order wine (asked us three different times). Once they realized we didn't want wine, they disappeared. They recommend you do family style here. I do too because if you don't, you may be sitting there starving for quite a while. Food came out very slowly - one plate at a time once in a blue moon. Each portion is rabbit sized. As in they were tiny. We dropped like $250 for three people and left hungry. Food was ok. Some dishes were interesting such as the Mousse au Foie Volaille, a chicken liver tartlet with apple gelée. The fancy snow on top tasted like cheese popcorn. Interesting - and a little yummy - but this tartlet took the "let" part of its name seriously. It was tiny. I went to Juliet yesterday for lunch. We had 6 people in our group, but there was only about 3 to 4 other groups eating at this time. The menu was pretty limited but we ordered a couple apps to share, which came out fairly fast. However, it took over an hour to get our main courses. I ordered the Ratatouille but when I took a bite of the poached egg, there was something crunchy when I started chewing. It felt like tiny pieces of egg shells, and one of my friends noticed a little brown spec that looked like an egg shell on the side of the poached egg. I told our server about the egg shell and she told me it's likely flakes of sea salt (it definitely wasn't). She offered to make another one but we had already been there 1.5 hours and I had to head back to work so I just had them take it back. Came here for a birthday dinner at around 6pm on a weekday, with a reservation booked weeks in advance, and was seated at a table right next to the door entrance, with the cold winter air blowing in every time the door opened (which was often as waiters were often going in and out to take care of the outdoor tables). Asked the host if we could move to one of the MANY empty tables away from the door that were still empty and was turned down because of "reservations". I could understand if the place was fully packed and we had no choice, but there was only 3 tables of people dining when we got there. This immediately left a sour start to the meal. -1 star The dinner was only redeemed by the delicious French forward food and great service. The chicken liver tartlet was unexpected in its delivery but quite tasty. We ordered the endives since every review here seems to have raved about it; it was quite good even though I don't enjoy mustard-based sauces and blue cheese. The duck confit cigars were fun to eat, with amazing sauce to dip into. The highlight of the dinner was the sea bass with ratatouille, with its crispy skin and perfectly cooked veggies with delish pesto sauce. This was only topped by the Madeline's - warm and fresh out of the oven, these aren't your Costco Madeline's - must try! Cheesecake was also quite good, but as cheesecake is one of my favorite desserts, I can't say this was the best in the US as another reviewer rated (and the reason I wanted to try it heh). read more

The reason this isn't a 1 star review is because the hostess was very kind about my party arriving late. That is where the good service ends. That said, a few things here: 1. Originally, I thought my sister-in-law was just being difficult, but my server could not have been more cold or unaccommodating to my table if he tried. At the price of the food, things like minor substitutions shouldn't be an issue, or at the least they should charge us for substitutions. It shouldn't disqualify a dish because I can't eat the sides. Our waiter was being much nicer to other tables, so he decided to have a gripe with my family and I, which isn't right. 2. My stepmom is allergic to onions, and the salads don't list that they have onions at all. When we got the salad, it was filled with raw onions. I asked if the dish could be returned, and he said no. I said "if we knew there were raw onions in the dish, we wouldn't have ordered it." My server's answer: "I don't know what to tell you." My stepmom and my Dad had to spend about 5-10 minutes picking onions out of the salad. When I told him, nicely and graciously might I add, that onions are something that should be listed on a menu, since a fair amount of folks are allergic to onions. His response was a quick "yes sir," and he bolted away. Mind you, the restaurant was not at all busy. He just didn't care. 3. My sister-in-law asked to have the chives removed from her salad. When she asked, the server acknowledged that request and said "I'll ask them to not add chives." Her salad came covered in chives. The server's response was "oh, I asked them not to include them." At that point, we had been waiting 15 mins for a salad, she decided to just scrape off the chives. It wasn't worth sending back. Plus, we had no faith they would take back the salad, because they wouldn't take back the other salad that was full of onions. 4. The chicken I ordered was cold in the center at certain parts. At this point, I didn't care to complain. I didn't trust anything would remedied, and (though I know it sounds paranoid) I didn't trust that this guy wouldn't spit in my food at this point, because of his disdain for my table. I figure I'm just going to cut my losses. I'm not really wanting to come back here. My sister-in-law and brother, who were semi-frequent customers, do not want to come back here. My suggestion to the restaurant: be more accommodating at your price point, and train your wait staff to be warmer to their customers. Customer service matters at the price point of this restaurant. My suggestion to potential customers: the service negates the quality of the food (which depends on the dish and I guess the server and chef that night) and the price is high. This will be short and sweet! If you go here order the Belgian Endive Salad and the Madeleines!!! That's it! The rest of the food in the menu is just ok, overpriced and really nothing special. I will be coming back just for those 2 yumminess!!! read more

French restaurant at the Platform with one of the most delicious desserts I've ever had. Came here for dinner prior to catching a show at the nearby Kirk Douglas theater and made a reservation online in advance. Had the tarama to start, which is a light start to the meal. We got the salad classique per our waiter's recommendation, and really enjoyed the tumeric flavor in the dressing. I had the poulet roti which came atop a bed of grilled veggies and I really enjoyed it. My sister's scallops were super rich and the table's favorite. The lamb chops would be the next favorite. The fish is a good option for someone looking for something a bit lighter. Metered street parking available at a further walk or you can park at the garage. Credit cards accepted. Indoor and outdoor seating available. The tables are kind of small so I wouldn't recommend groups bigger than 4 coming. Definitely get the dessert even if you're full - the mousse au chocolate is a must-have. The little chocolate pearls on top of the velvety smooth mousse was a perfect combination of textures and it wasn't too sweet (the ultimate compliment by my parents). read more
