Wow wow wow the food is amazing! Come with four or more people so you can really explore the menu. The drinks are small pours as is typical of trendy restaurants. The rosemary bread is amazing. The service was very attentive and lots of people working bringing out the dishes and changing the plates between courses. The perfect end to the night was the mint straciatella gelato!

Came in on Mother's Day for a late lunch/ early dinner, atmosphere was lovely and we sat in the area outside in the back, it was nice lots of people, our waiter was friendly. I noticed when we walked through the restaurant and were taken to our table everyone who worked there was friendly and say hello and welcome , to the point that noticed and it felt really nice and welcoming. We started with the bread and prawns which was recommended by our waiter both were delicious. We both got pasta dishes and they were great suggestions. Will come again to try the pizza everything looked yummy!

Absolutely stupendous authentic Italian food! Everything was incredible and fresh! We absolutely loved our waiter Eric! He created the perfect experience for us! He was so knowledgeable and kind, gave us wonderful recommendations and even informed us on the process and origin of the dishes! Honestly ALL of the staff were phenomenal, very attentive! The ambiance was great and very vibey ! Lived the music they were playing! Would definitely recommend! Must haves are the Pisco sours and the margarita pizza! Literally any of the pastas would be fantastic and will not disappoint but I would say that I recommend a little extra sauce!

The freshly-made pasta did not disappoint. The texture lived up to its hype. I was also pleasantly surprised by the calamari appetizer. It was not fried and came with a delicious sauce and pieces of yummy toasted bread topped with mint and parsely! I have not had that flavor profile before on a calamari and it was different and tasty. The only reason I am not giving this restaurant 5 stars is becauase I wanted more options for non-diary/non-cheesy apptizers. The tiramisu was classic and delicious. Excellent ambiance. Service was good. Taylor, our server was helpful.

Absolutely outstanding! One of a few places I've been where I continue to think about the flavors and experience hours after dining there. Everything we had was a level up from what we had at Italian restaurants before (and we've been to some amazing places in SoCal and in Italy). Something as basic as focaccia stood out. Was blown away by the Capricciosa Pizza. Pizza showed up and the aroma just filled the space around us. Savory pork belly contrasts with the earthy rustica sauce and topped off with potatoes?!? Are you kidding me? Mind blowing. Linguine al Limone somehow delivered the essence of lemon on the nose (more than any lemon dish I can recall) but without the tart/sourness in taste. Can not wait to return to try their other dishes. Despite the high prices, the food still over delivered. Knowledgeable and professional servers rounded out the dining experience.

I made a reservation for a weekend night with my wife. We were seated promptly after checking in. I have been to Mother Wolf and Funke numerous times and this was my first time coming to felix. I normally order the rigatoni with guanicale, which is a staple on all 3 restaurant's menu. For whatever reason, this specific location did not allow me to order it with no cheese. They literally just sprinkle the cheese on top. I ended up getting whatever two random pastas they were willing to make with no cheese. On the side, I got their focaccia bread and artichokes. Those two were incredible as starters. The bread with herby and soft with a little slight crisp exterior. The two pastas we got were rigatoni and linguine. Both were cooked al dente and I did like that they weren't as oily as I would usually receive at Funke. We also got a panna cotta dessert at the end, which was just a typical fruit on top of panna cotta in a glass cup, nothing special. Overall, food is average for $30+ each appetizers and pastas. Parking here is a hassle just like mother wolf. The refusal of removing cheese (unlike the other two) dissuades me from coming back. I guess I will be sticking to Funke as my pick amongst the 3.

Felix is absolutely worth the hype with reservations highly recommended. We enjoyed a table out on the patio for an early birthday celebration for my sister, which was perfect as the inside was noisy and busy on a Friday night. We appreciate our server informing us of the family style menu and we're able to enjoy several items including the sfincione, rucola salad, funghi pizza, amatriciana, and tiramisu for dessert. Every dish exceeded our expectations and I'll be dreaming of the bread and fresh mushrooms for weeks to come. I would absolutely return to try other menu options!

We ordered the misticanza, porchetta, spaghetti all'aragosta, busiate, and timballino, and every dish was delicious. Their pasta is exceptionally well made. You can really tell it's handmade. The service was also very friendly and welcoming. The only downside was the timing between dishes; the wait between courses was quite long. That said, the food quality truly stood out, and we were seated outdoors, which made for a very pleasant atmosphere overall. Despite the wait, it's a place I'd recommend for the food.

Felix Trattoria specializes in housemade pastas inspired by Rome. Like many amazing LA spots - spinning 90s hip hop classics. This is a great place to celebrate, especially with some hot sfincione bread. Rigatoni all'Amatriciana: This tomato-based pasta dish contains giant cylindrical rigatoni straws with plenty of surface area to which the sauce can adhere. They give you a fork and a spoon so you can chomp on bite-sized al dente pieces. The guanciale, a cured pork jowl, is the highlight of the dish. The crispy meaty pieces are soft and silky with each bite. The guanciale amplifies the richness and savoriness of the pomodoro sauce. As the Pecorino Romano cheese melts, the tomato sauce becomes more luscious. Parking: While there's valet, street parking is easy to find. Reservations: Remember to get a reservation since there's even a waiting list at the bar.

This charming restaurant that gets a 10/10 for food and service! Everything we ordered was scrumptious. The service was friendly and attentive. We sat in the patio and it was lovely. The only thing I would recommend for improvement is the dessert menu. We were just beyond full and nothing peaked our interest enough. But I am sure the listed desserts are good based on the execution of the food. Make a reservation if you're in the area since they don't accept walk in's.

Great flavors and wonderful service. We've been to Funke in Beverly Hills and wanted to try Chef Funke's other restaurant. For starters we had the sfincione focaccia loaf and the romana rossa flatbread. The sfincione was so light and fluffy, not the typical focaccia. The flatbread was more like a pizza but one of the best flatbreads we've tried. The fresh burrata cheese with the tomato sauce tasted so good. Would highly recommend. For the main, we had the foglie d'ulivo, strangolapreti di zucca, and the spaghetti al arrabiata. We loved the flavor of the strangolapreti with the butter sauce, the ball shaped pasta however is soft, which was unexpected. The spaghetti al arrabiata was spicy, hits you right away. The foglie d'ilivo pesto flavor was so bold and fresh. Each of the pasta was great but eating it together was better, you didn't get sick of one dish so I would definitely order to share, like family style. For desert we had the olive oil cake and the Tiramisu. Both were wonderful so I would recommend either. We made reservations only a few days in advance so they only had courtyard seating available. We sat outside in the courtyard with heater lamps. It was a more casual ambience than inside but still very good service.

I spent the whole day in Venice and for dinner we came and tried Felix Trattoria which is located on Abbot Kinney. Not too far away from the boardwalk and easily walkable. Had made reservations for an early dinner on the patio side. We were literally one of the first and few people waiting outside the door before it opened. Tried the focaccia bread, misticanza salad, sirloin steak, spaghetti allaragosta, and funghi pizza. Each dish actually tasted pretty good except for the spaghetti but that might just be preference. It had a strong seafood smell to it but after a couple of bites, it was gone. I still would come back here just for the service and also the food! I am willing to go and try out another pasta dish and see what else they have to offer. The steak was actually surprising and the sauce on top was so delicious.

I visited Felix Trattoria while showing a friend around Abbott Kinney. While they offer valet, finding parking a few blocks away and walking over isn't too difficult either, and it's free! We had their Polpette, Orecchiette, and Bavetta alla Griglia. The Polpette were five petite pork meatballs. Each was perfectly flavored and unique; the interior was delicate and soft while the exterior was lightly fried. The salsa verde and parmigiano reggiano was the best part pairing - though note that it may be salty if you are generous with the cheese. The Orecchiette was tasty and lightly salty from the meat. The broccolini nicely contrasted in color with the dish, and the canestrato di moliterno cheese gave this dish such a unique taste with a saltiness different than the nduja sauce. The real gift was being able to see the oricchiette freshly handmade the window beside us. The oricchiette didn't look exciting from photos, but they were indeed exciting. There was definitely texture, and the shape was like a cup or thimble, which I hadn't expected. The Bavetta alla Griglia was a skirt steak and salsa rustica paired with roasted potatoes. This reminded me of chimichurri but better; what took the night away was how the steak melted in the mouth. Each slice and each piece was delicate. The potatoes were equally delicate. Being excited over potatoes is hard, but somehow Felix Trattoria did it... they got me excited over some soft potatoes while keeping the skin roasted and hard. Overall, three dishes was enough for two. Our server had recommended four for two, but three was more than enough, leaving not even a single ounce of space for dessert. My mind is blown, my tummy is happy, and my expectations shattered; thank you for a most delightful dinner, Felix Trattoria.

Ask the Community - Felix Trattoria

Are there any dishes that can be made vegan upon request?

It's a Michelin star so zero adjustments can be made to any dish. And the menu is exclusive and changing.

Are small dogs allowed on the patio?

How far in advance is a reservation needed?

They only release reservations in 7 days. Filled out fast

Can you order online for pickup?

you have to call a week in advance lol

    Is it casual?

Semi casual. At night, it's a cute date night attire.

Do they offer gluten free pasta?

    No. Nor pizzas.

When you go on open table one week before if I am trying to get a Saturday night reservation I should go on at midnight Friday night (12am sat) not Saturday night at midnight correct ? Thank you!

    That is correct.

Why is it impossible to get a reservation here? I look frequently in the opentable app and nothing is ever available for party of 2

    Is Felix doing takeout?

Yes Pick up from 4-9 with an order thru their website (12/23/20)

    Do they have BYOB?

Yes, but expensive corkage fee $50! Go to another great Italian in area for much less!!

I see a lot dishes featuring black and white truffle but nowhere on the menu is it mentioned. The funghi pizza and truffle gnocchi for example. Is this only during certain parts of the year or is it always available as an add-on?

I believe it needs to be in season. But each time I've been there it has been available as an add on (Nov & Dec).

    Do they have gluten-free pasta?

    No they do not.

Do you know how often or when they post available dates for reservations?

I have no idea, but if you you are there by 5:30pm you should be pretty good getting seated soon. Always worked for us.

Do they accept any walk ins?

Yes!!! You can sit at the bar or bar area. I've sat there a number of times now. If you get there at 5pm you have a better chance of getting a table.

Are all pastas made in house and fresh?

Yes. In one of the dining rooms is a glass window with the intent of watching them making the pasta in front of you fresh

I see that they're open til 12, but what time does the kitchen close?

I don't know the answer, but I applaud your question. I wish Yelp would list kitchen hours vs bar hours.

    Is there a corkage fee?

Yes - I think there is a 2 bottle limit and believe each bottle is between $20 - $30.

What are the prices like here? What's with no prices on the published menus, is that a thing now? Seems a bit standoffish.

Appetizers $12-18 pastas $20-26 main courses $25-32 florentine steak $150 (serves 4) Desserts $10-14 if you still have room!

The sauce helped bring some juiciness back and balanced it out. The bluefin tuna bibimbap was pretty enjoyable. The tuna tasted fresh and the textures worked well together, but the dish could have used a little more seasoning to make the flavors pop. The perilla was a great touch though. It added a slightly minty flavor that complemented the tuna without taking over the dish. The beef short rib was easily the standout. PERFECTLY cooked, incredibly tender, and seasoned just right. The richness of the meat paired so well with the lettuce wraps that it almost feels like they should automatically come with the dish. Service was good and everything came out smoothly. Went early to see if anything opened or if walk-in would be faster, surprisingly they actually had something come available sooner. We opted to sit inside and loved the ambiance. Food - amazing! I read reviews first and watched a couple IG videos so I knew a general idea of what we wanted to order. Glad the server suggested the orange chicken over the walnut shrimp when we were debating it. Chil wontons, absolutely a must get, different from DTF, not crazy spicy but full of flavor and richness. XO fatty noodles, perfect chewiness on the rolled noodles and the flavors were well balanced, we enjoyed them with a little chili paste and the orange chicken as the protein. Orange chicken, soooo much more flavorful than your average Panda Express orange chicken, good sized nuggets of chicken that were crispy and tender at the same time, and the zest livened it up. BBQ pork shank, our server did warn us it's not the easiest to eat, but it's worth it, hard to see cutting it off the bone because it was so dimly lite in the restaurant and your hands will get sticky but once you get chunks off the bone and your bao bun built it's delicious especially when you get the lacquered crispy skin yummm! Only skip for the night was the mango sticky rice. Much rather would've spend $8 on something else. The mango was tart/sour. The sticky rice was too wet and mushy. It was a pass for both of us. It had a cool vibe and tons of allocated bottles on the bar (tequila and whiskey and whisky to name a few categories). The staff greeted us quickly and supplied us with some menus. I opted for the Idyllwild cocktail and loved it! It had the most complementary flavors and was so refreshing with the bourbon, yuzu, chartreuse, honey, and lemon flavors. My husband opted for a neat Caballito Cerrero Puntas pour (high proof agave spirit). They only had 0.5 Oz for their bottle and only charged for the partial pour. People came in and ordered anything from cocktails to neat pours to flights. It was a cool spot and the bartenders seemed pretty well versed in different cocktails, giving a few suggestions to different patrons. Even making a few Espresso Martinis for a couple of girls that didn't really like their initial cocktails. Staff was cool, attentive, and pretty quick and efficient with the pours. I'd definitely be down to try more drinks here if we roll through again. Luckily, we found some close street parking and it wasn't super busy so we easily found parking in the area. It also wasn't super packed in the venue so we could've opted for other seating--lounge areas, a few tables, or just at the bar.

Came with a…read moreparty of 5 people and ordered the following: DISHES (* denotes favorite/would order again) - *Mezzi Rigatoni Carbonara: not your average carbonara, but was delicious nonetheless. The rigatoni was cooked perfectly al dente - *Duck Pappardelle: a table favorite! The duck was plentiful and was enjoyed by all. The pappardelle was a little too soft for some people at the table, but I personally enjoy a wide, flat noodle. - Linguine al Limone: lemony and bright. I only wish there was a protein (like seafood?) with this to help enhance the flavor - Margherita pizza: Classic and delicious. The crust was delicious on this slice. - *Mushroom pizza: Toppings were generous and we all liked the mushrooms. Our crust in particular was a little on the burnt side, but we just picked off the areas that were more blackened. - *Green Beans: served chilled which provided a nice brightness to our dishes - Grilled Broccolini: good bite and also helped break up the meal Overall the dishes were easy to be shared and we left pretty full. Prices are also pretty reasonable for the amount of food that we got. PARKING Street parking only, but it wasn't too difficult to find parking on the street.

We had a gem Caesar salad (just ok, boring), the carbonara (just ok, pancetta? was chewy) and the bolognese (just ok, under seasoned). It was just ok! Service was weird but we also came right when shifts were changing cuz we saw our waitress walking down the street at one point. There she goes! Sat outside, such a cute area but as soon as you get your food here come the flies! Also, people talking loudly even tho it was not busy - inside would have been better, less busy, super open and so much seating. Saw 2 girls there who got ALL the breakfast foods and this is where I realized we went wrong. If you come here for lunch, I'd recommend the breakfast food - it looked FANTASTIC! Or maybe a pizza. The dinner food also looks better than the lunch food from the pics I see here on yelp!

Service: attentive, friendly Food: Cast iron cornbread - good flavors but heavy, they forgot to bring it out initially so we ended up getting it at the end of our meal which I preferred Hamachi crudo - also good flavors but fish could have been cut thinner Butter dates - too sweet, no balance Potato rolls - one of my favorites, light and paired well with honey butter Belgian endives salad - also well balanced Braised beef ribs - soft and tender Wagyu skirt beef - cooked well, paired well with sauce provided Drinks: high quality drinks! Would definitely come here just for drinks. We got the Quiet holler and Eastern medicine

Interestingly salty but also sweet from the honey on top, with bits of jalapeño pepper inside. Menu is seasonal with farm-to-table ingredients, so everything tasted fresh and earthy. The smoked trout dip & farmer's market salad were my favorite dishes, both surprisingly more flavorful than I expected. Sadly the short rib was too salty and needed more of the layered potato to balance it out - also $52 for a very small portion was overpriced in my opinion. Another thing to note was the hostess at the front was quite snarky and gave us attitude when we very kindly asked if they had matchboxes (I collect them). Even after I said "no worries thank you" very nicely, she gave my entire group a very condescending look, so that left a sour taste at the end of our dining experience. Would most likely not return.

Every dish tasted thoughtful, unique, and restaurant-week-level refined. We ordered the nasi goreng fried rice, noodles, beef rendang, yam dish, and pea salad. Flavor-wise? Almost everything was incredible. The beef rendang especially was packed with flavor, and every dish felt elevated and intentional. My only reason for knocking off a star is the value. The portions were tiny -- not "small plates" tiny, but more like one-to-two bites each while still being priced aggressively. By the end, I felt more impressed than full. If the portions matched the quality, this would've easily been a 5-star experience. That said, if you care more about exceptional food than portion sizes, this place is worth trying. One of the most memorable meals I've had on the Westside.
