Brought my girlfriend here on an anniversary date. This was unfortunately a miss. Mother Wolf has a very similar menu that is far tastier. Let's get into the food. Appetizers: Focaccia (sfincione) - 5/10 (GF rating 4/10) Super greasy, like, very. Make sure to ask for extra olive oil on the side, as that does make it better as they do have delicious olive oil. The bread seems like it's also cooked in olive oil, but frankly if they made their bread and had olive oil on the side it would've been much better. The bread itself though, ugh that whole bottom was wet in oil. Super unfortunate. Solid but oily as heck. Rice Croquettes (suppli in Bianco) - 5/10 (GF rating 2/10) Forgettable. Nothing special, no sauce paired with it. They're mediocre. I wouldn't get this again. Mains: Lamb Ragu (malloreddus) - 9/10 (GF rating 7.5/10) Extremely tasty. Pasta was very well cooked, lamb meat was perfect, as goes for the cheese on top and the sauce. Amazing meal. Would've been far better without having the subpar appetizers beforehand. Cheese and pepper pasta (cacio e Pepe) - 5/10 (GF rating 6.5/10) Non meat pastas aren't my thing, so take my rating with a grain of salt, as I would never get this myself. Came in on Mother's Day for a late lunch/ early dinner, atmosphere was lovely and we sat in the area outside in the back, it was nice lots of people, our waiter was friendly. I noticed when we walked through the restaurant and were taken to our table everyone who worked there was friendly and say hello and welcome , to the point that noticed and it felt really nice and welcoming. The freshly-made pasta did not disappoint. The texture lived up to its hype. I was also pleasantly surprised by the calamari appetizer. It was not fried and came with a delicious sauce and pieces of yummy toasted bread topped with mint and parsely! I made a reservation for a weekend night with my wife. We were seated promptly after checking in. I have been to Mother Wolf and Funke numerous times and this was my first time coming to felix. I normally order the rigatoni with guanicale, which is a staple on all 3 restaurant's menu. For whatever reason, this specific location did not allow me to order it with no cheese. They literally just sprinkle the cheese on top. I ended up getting whatever two random pastas they were willing to make with no cheese. On the side, I got their focaccia bread and artichokes. Those two were incredible as starters. The bread with herby and soft with a little slight crisp exterior. The two pastas we got were rigatoni and linguine. Both were cooked al dente and I did like that they weren't as oily as I would usually receive at Funke. We also got a panna cotta dessert at the end, which was just a typical fruit on top of panna cotta in a glass cup, nothing special. Overall, food is average for $30+ each appetizers and pastas. Parking here is a hassle just like mother wolf. The refusal of removing cheese (unlike the other two) dissuades me from coming back. Great flavors and wonderful service. We've been to Funke in Beverly Hills and wanted to try Chef Funke's other restaurant. For starters we had the sfincione focaccia loaf and the romana rossa flatbread. The sfincione was so light and fluffy, not the typical focaccia. The flatbread was more like a pizza but one of the best flatbreads we've tried. The fresh burrata cheese with the tomato sauce tasted so good. Would highly recommend. For the main, we had the foglie d'ulivo, strangolapreti di zucca, and the spaghetti al arrabiata. We loved the flavor of the strangolapreti with the butter sauce, the ball shaped pasta however is soft, which was unexpected. The spaghetti al arrabiata was spicy, hits you right away. The foglie d'ilivo pesto flavor was so bold and fresh. Each of the pasta was great but eating it together was better, you didn't get sick of one dish so I would definitely order to share, like family style. For desert we had the olive oil cake and the Tiramisu. Both were wonderful so I would recommend either. We made reservations only a few days in advance so they only had courtyard seating available. The food is amazing. I did not have one bad dish. Flavor, flavor and more flavor. The salad with sliced apple and fennel and sliced cheese was bright with a tart dressing. The pasta dishes were cooked perfectly with just enough sauce. The one imperfect dish was the mushroom pizza with blistered edges but undercooked towards the center. Desserts were so good, tiramisu, gelato and a semi-freddo were our selections. Trust me you have to add this restaurant to your list. Had made reservations for an early dinner on the patio side. We were literally one of the first and few people waiting outside the door before it opened. Tried the focaccia bread, misticanza salad, sirloin steak, spaghetti allaragosta, and funghi pizza. Each dish actually tasted pretty good except for the spaghetti but that might just be preference. I visited Felix Trattoria while showing a friend around Abbott Kinney. While they offer valet, finding parking a few blocks away and walking over isn't too difficult either, and it's free! We had their Polpette, Orecchiette, and Bavetta alla Griglia. The Polpette were five petite pork meatballs. Each was perfectly flavored and unique; the interior was delicate and soft while the exterior was lightly fried. The salsa verde and parmigiano reggiano was the best part pairing - though note that it may be salty if you are generous with the cheese. The Orecchiette was tasty and lightly salty from the meat. The broccolini nicely contrasted in color with the dish, and the canestrato di moliterno cheese gave this dish such a unique taste with a saltiness different than the nduja sauce. The real gift was being able to see the oricchiette freshly handmade the window beside us. The oricchiette didn't look exciting from photos, but they were indeed exciting. There was definitely texture, and the shape was like a cup or thimble, which I hadn't expected. The Bavetta alla Griglia was a skirt steak and salsa rustica paired with roasted potatoes. This reminded me of chimichurri but better; what took the night away was how the steak melted in the mouth. Each slice and each piece was delicate. The potatoes were equally delicate. Being excited over potatoes is hard, but somehow Felix Trattoria did it... they got me excited over some soft potatoes while keeping the skin roasted and hard. Overall, three dishes was enough for two. Our server had recommended four for two, but three was more than enough, leaving not even a single ounce of space for dessert. We enjoyed a table out on the patio for an early birthday celebration for my sister, which was perfect as the inside was noisy and busy on a Friday night. Used to be a 5/5 for me but unfortunately it has fallen from a favorite of mine. Prices are inconsistent of that is what is posted online. Nearly every dish was too greasy. I attempted to get up and wash my hands multiple times but the line remained never ending. While waiting in the never ending line directly next to the kitchen the unfortunate smell of the bathrooms permeates the walls. Alas I gave up and returned to my seat. The carbonara is the best dish and remains a single favorite in the grand scheme of Venice restaurants. The paparadelle was overpriced coming in @ $50 for a vegetarian and ultimately flavorless dish. The squash blossoms were salt bombs and ultimately needed a sauce to pair. The dessert was not nearly as good as I recalled and when you expect olive oil cake I was expecting warm. Also expect to pay $15 for one scoop of ice cream. The hosts were cold and uninviting but got us to our table, so I can't complain too much. The service was standard and effective from our waiter and the additional staff was particularly wonderful and always on top of it. Sad to say I'm not sure when I'll be back next. Felix Trattoria is a standout Italian restaurant in a city of many great Italian restaurants. The sfincione (focaccia) is possibly the best focaccia I've ever had, and a strong contender for best bread overall! It is served warm, and it is soft and perfectly seasoned. I would go to Felix for this alone. I've honestly enjoyed everything I've had here. Of the antipasti, the highlight for me is the fiori di zucca (squash blossoms), which are lightly fried and very tasty. I haven't had the pizza though it looks delicious - I'm usually here for the focaccia and pasta! Chef Evan Funke is a master pasta maker (see Netflix's Chef's Table: Noodles), and there is actually a room within the restaurant that showcases his chefs making the fresh pasta that they serve. You truly can't go wrong with any of the pasta dishes here. The pasta is served perfectly al dente. The sauces/preparations are all packed with flavor. My highlights: mezze maniche alla carbonara, rigatoni all'amatriciana, tagliatelle with ragu bolognese and tonnarelli cacio e pepe. My only note on the carbonara is that I personally prefer the guanciale in small chunks rather than slices. But it's not easy to find a great carbonara outside of Rome, and this one comes close! I have also had the bavetta alla griglia (8 oz skirt steak), which is served with fried potatoes and a salsa rustica. It was well-seasoned and perfectly cooked (medium rare for us). Of the desserts, the torta della nonna (olive oil cake) is lovely and doesn't feel heavy, and the tiramisu is extra creamy, served in a cup. Service is good and professional but slightly cold. The visits to the table at the beginning and during the meal, as well as the courses, are well-paced. I've never felt rushed or neglected. There just doesn't seem to be an extra effort to be friendly, which is fine if that is their vibe - just an observation. The interior of the restaurant feels homey, and the service vibe doesn't quite match that for me. It is relatively dimly lit at night, and there is music playing at a low-moderate volume. The space, including the bathrooms, is very clean and the tables are spaced out decently. Pricing can be moderate to high depending on what and how much you order. Unless you're only getting 1 dish and no beverages, you're probably looking at a $40-60 per person range + tax and tip on the low end. I go to Felix for more of a "treat" meal and I tend to land in the $80-100 per person range. Reservations can be made on Resy up to 1 week in advance, and the restaurant is open for dinner service only. I've never had an issue finding street parking in the surrounding neighborhood, but they also have valet available. I love the food at Felix and I always look forward to meals there! read more

We had dinner at Felix on September 3rd, 2026. It was about the sixth or seventh visit; the past visits the cuisine was usually pleasing. But, this time, the cuisine was a different story. The varietal tomato and burrata salad was very good, as the cheese was a creamy compliment to the tasty tomatoes (Panzanella). We told our main server this when she asked. But, the mushroom and cheese pizza was doughy, soggy and thin in the center-we could barely hold the slice firmly in our hands to take a bite as it bent limply over our fingers. It did not help at all that the porcini mushrooms had a chewy texture to them. We ended up leaving several piles of uneaten pizza lumps on the serving plate until a restaurant assistant took the plate away. Our server who passed by must have noticed, but, did not bother to ask what was wrong as I suspect she didn't want to address/make possible amends of the issue. The asparagus and pasta (Linguine al limone) with lemon cheese sauce was tasty, but, unfortunately, the pasta was slightly over-cooked. We finished the pasta dish, and, our server did ask about it. I didn't make an issue regarding the pasta as the pizza was terrible in comparison. We politely declined dessert, and, paid our bill. We had planned to make another reservation for dinner soon with another couple, but, we'll elect to go elsewhere. Perhaps, it was a quality issue that evening. truthfully, i was a bit let down by this place after hearing such high praise and have difficulty rating between a 3 or 4. as my partner and i entered the restaurant, an employee and a guest(?) were blocking the entrance while having a conversation. we were seated quickly for our 5:00 pm reservation. the restaurant is nicely decorated, and i appreciated the open-concept view of the pasta-making process. our waiter came to us quickly and asked us if we've been here before, and if we had any questions. we settled on two cocktails recommended by the waiter (the clear one, which i ordered, was a bit too strong for me so i switched to the darker one which was more of my preference - lighter, sweeter, and fruitier). we started off with the foccacia and the squash blossoms, which were both very oily. the foccacia was very soft, cake-like, and flavorful, and the squash blossoms had a bit too much of the ricotta filling on the inside (if that's something you like then i'd recommend it). it was a little overpowering, and along with the oiliness, made it a tad difficult to eat more than 1. the star of the night was definitely the agrumi (citrus with olives, fennel, mint, and pistachio). the medley of all the flavors together was such a nice and refreshing taste after having the oily items. definitely something i would get again. the margherita pizza was nice, but it wasn't the best i've ever had. though i really enjoyed the chewiness of the crust. the tagliatelle and the busiatte, both recommended by the waiter and also popular items, was again, nothing special and the flavors were not hitting the spot. lastly, we ordered a tiramisu, which did not stand out either. but it was still a sweet treat to push down the oiliness of the meal. we came in to celebrate our anniversary and the staff was very kind to put a candle on the dessert, and bring us two glasses of complementary champagne which was a very nice gesture and addition. i would want to come again some day to try different items and hopefully change my mind about this place. read more

Heard this place was tough to get into, so I felt lucky to snag an early weekday dinner reservation for two+newborn--the buzz is real! The menu is genuinely based on seasonal availability, and the food delivered was incredibly authentic. Our server was fantastic, offering insightful suggestions that were greatly appreciated. We ordered the Rucola salad, Fiori (squash blossoms), Funghi pizza, Tonnarelli Cacio, and their skirt steak. Every dish was delicious and artfully presented, and the portions were very generous--we even had several leftovers to take home. I'd mention that the Tonnarelli felt a little firm for my personal preference, but I'm aware that al dente texture is authentic for that specific cut of pasta. Felix Trattoria deserves 5 stars. Felix Is Easily One of My Top Five Restaurants in Los Angeles. After dining at Felix twice in the last few months, I can officially say it's become one of my new favorite restaurants in Los Angeles. Everything from the food to the service to the intimate atmosphere sets it apart from so many other spots in the city. A huge part of the magic is Chef Funke. Born and raised in Los Angeles, he truly understands the local culture and what people want in an LA dining experience. He trained six years at Spago Beverly Hills followed by time studying pasta-making in Bologna, Italy and it shows in every dish with incredible depth, technique, and authenticity. Food & Drinks The drinks at Felix are truly next level unique, balanced, and consistently impressive. On my last visit I tried the Cicciolina and the Siracusa, and both were amazing. They also change the drink menu often, which keeps things fun and makes every visit feel fresh. I ordered the Diavola pizza the last time, and it was delicious. I wouldn't say it beats Mozza my favorite pizza spot in LA, but it comes surprisingly close, which says a lot. The pastas are also some of the freshest and best I've had anywhere, and I've tried several over my visits. While some dishes resemble what you might find at Funke or Mother Wolf, the food at Felix honestly tastes even better. The service is substantially better than his two other sister restaurants. And unlike many trendy or pricey LA restaurants, Felix is shockingly affordable for the quality. I normally hate salad, but the rucola salad is unreal. I dread eating salads and I could eat it every day. The sfincone bread is warm, fluffy, fresh, and absolutely addictive. Service The service is top notch warm, attentive, and genuinely thoughtful. On our first visit they surprised us with a round of free champagne, which instantly set the tone for how well they treat guests. Atmosphere The restaurant itself is intimate, stylish, and comfortable a perfect setting for both casual nights out and special occasions. I would describe it a perfect in between a fancy restaurant and casual sitdown. Parking Parking is easy: either use valet or grab a spot on the street. I usually just park across the street and walk over because it's faster than waiting for valet. Cool Fact: Jeff Bezos, Lauren Sánchez, and plenty of other celebrities have been seen here. Overall: Felix is a 5 star restaurant in my book. It's delicious, affordable for LA, beautifully run, and consistently impressive. Easily one of my top five restaurants in the city.
