Visited on a busy Saturday night. The concept is cool, but confusing to navigate. You're supposed to grab a table then scan a QR code to order from one of the vendors. I wouldn't quite call this a market since there's only a few spots to order from, it's more of a food hall. We ordered some items from Vesti and drinks from Compass Rose. I was actually impressed by the selection of alcohol, plenty of wine and cocktails. The rosè was good, nothing special, and the French 75 was excellent. To eat, we tried the pepperoni pizza and wagyu sandwich from Vesti. The pizza was very flavorful and not too dense. I liked that it had a small spicy kick. The star of the show is the wagyu sandwich. It's balanced with caramelized onions and arugula. This is one of the better bites I've had in awhile. The wagyu could've been more tender and less cooked. Still this sandwich was amazing a 9/10. My main issue was the confusion we faced with ordering. Not a fan of the QR code and having to manually enter in a card. You also have to ask for napkins and forks. I took my son and friends to MAYDAN Market for dinner after his USC Roski graduation, and it was the perfect place to celebrate such a special occasion. Don't let the name MAYDAN Market confuse you. It's a delightful dining experience. From the moment we walked in, we were impressed by the unique atmosphere and stunning decor. The space feels warm, vibrant, and unlike anywhere else in Los Angeles. Every detail adds to the experience. Most importantly, the food was absolutely delicious. This place is really cool. I went there for an event and it was very well set up. Lots of different restaurants to eat it, two bars with a whole lot of alcohol and plenty of seating inside and out. Maydan Market vendors have special curated menus. Food is really good! A bit pricey, but very good. Definitely would recommend the spreads, the kebab and bread! It's a huge place with different restaurants to eat at. I wish the staff was a bit more friendlier in explaining the whole concept of the market. They charge you every time you order more bread, so be mindful of that. This place gets a 3 because of the missing hospitality piece at this place. Food is great, drinks are decent, pricing was a bit expensive. Love this newer food hall in LA. There are several options and got to try a few of the spots there. Space was great and there was plenty of seating. I tried the kebab plate at the Mediterranean place (Mayden) but it was underwhelming. It was missing the toasted tomatoes. I think some people are blanket rating this place due to the market, and not the actual Maydan LA restaurant. This review is for the actual Maydan LA restaurant. Swung by w a Rez, and was seated right away. Wasnt super hungry so decided to do a couple things. They have an option that is almost like a shared dish omakase with the the table, but was told its a large amount of food, so we'll all just have to come back for that. This trip we ordered a la cart, so lets get to it: Hummus: They sometimes have a special where you can add a little lamb roast to the hummus, so we opted for that, and I've gotta say this is probably one of the most flavorful hummuses ive had. It went super well with the hot and fresh pitas that came along with it. Roasted Eggplant: This was super good. If you're a fan of eggplant it'll take you for an adventure of flavors with the mint and sauce it comes paired with. Houllumi: If you told me baked cheese was a vibe then this would be it. Super nutty flavor baked in with the cheese and honey. Pair this up with the pita, and you got a delicious sweet and nutty flavor bomb. Kebab: Ended up choosing the chicken and lamb kebabs to try, and they had a really nice smokey right off the fire flavor while being super tender and juicy still. Cooked just right, and if you pair it with their harissa or zhoug it takes it to a whole nother level. Definitely a spot that I'd come back to check out, and do the big feast with some friends, so hopefully trying more things will lead to some best dish discoveries. So I don't get why Yelp has only one listing for this place because each restaurant is so different. But here's my thoughts - overall market gets 5 stars; super duper cool concept and I love variety so it's just absolutely perfect for me as a place. You can choose to sit outside or inside and it doesn't ever feel too packed. LOVE - compass rose is delicious and perfect place to sit on a warm day. Nice comfy couches make the perfect scene to enjoy food and drink. My favorite is to order the Mediterranean food and get it delivered there - Maydan LA- here's where the stars start to come off. It was good but not as perfect as the rest. My issues with it mainly come from how they handled some missteps. In general the food was good but not amazing. I would definitely not do the Tawle option because you get a lot of useless food that's not helpful. We got the ridbeye as an extra option and despite our lamb shoulder being nice and warm, the ribeye was completely cold. Not ideal operationally but I can let it pass. My issue is how it was handled- no affirmation of how ridiculous it was to get a cold steak and furthermore they didn't comp it despite us just telling them to box it up cold. Branded as a 10,000 square-foot multi-restaurant culinary experience collective and food hall with an international night market feel, Maydan Market opened in October 2025 in the West Adams neighborhood of Los Angeles. It is located within walking distance of the Farmdale station of the Metro E Line. Our group of four stopped in for an early dinner before a sporting event (not close) and enjoyed the food/company. Inside is a really cool space, with a communal hearth in the center of the hall, allowing it to be used for various dishes across the restaurant. What to note is that many of the restaurants do not take food orders between 15:00 and 17:00 (break/prep time between lunch and dinner service). They try to simplify the ordering experience, providing features like shared tab, combined ordering. The idea is that each member of a party can order what they want. The indoor space doesn't have good cellular reception, so good WiFi is critical. It is easy to get on, but is not fast enough to handle the needs of the restaurant website...it kept hanging. I tried various things, getting closer to checkout in some cases, but each time failing. I finally decided to pick a restaurant that didn't have a long line, and just ordered the food directly with a human. They need to improve this. There are self-serve areas to pick up tap water, napkins, utensils, and take-home containers. It is definitely not self-bussing, but not clear if the hall does the clearing or if each restaurant is accountable. Definitely important since all dishes and utensils are reusable. I just got home from Maydan Market, and it was the loveliest experience. My friend and I ordered a variety of dishes, and every single one was delicious. You can either order up front or from your table (each table has a QR code that leads you to the menus for all of the eateries, and everything is brought to your table). I ordered the tamal de pollo, esquite, and an agua fresca from Maléna; an empanada de mole con pavo and a cafe de olla from Lugya'h; and a tamarind espresso ginger beer from Compass Rose. My friend ordered the walnut casik from Sook by Maydan, and the salsa de huevo and a cafe de olla from Lugya'h. (She also got a nice drink, but I can't recall what was in it). It's a beautifully decorated space with a variety of seating options, and there's also an outdoor patio in the back that looked inviting. I would recommend coming earlier in the day. A premium food court experience as the atmosphere was so nice, ordering process was easy and seamless that you needn't even have to leave your chair as everything could easily be done from your phone and you got your orders delivered to your table. There's option to dine in Maydan's own resto by the bar and fire pit, which did offer some menu from the stalls around the food court. Seats in this space could be reserved while the food court area was on first-come-first-serve basis. Trying to be more adventurous, we ordered the iconic dishes which we saw many people calling out. Our first choice went to Tlayuda; fire-grilled gigantic corn tortilla served with black beans, cheese and cabbage. We picked beef as our protein to go with the tortilla. Unfortunately this didn't suit us well as we felt it's too dominated by the cabbage that we barely could taste the other elements. The beef was okay, but bit shadowed by the cabbage. Thankfully the Halloumi came as a savior, served with peanut dukkah and honey, giving that savory and sweet twist, which we both fancied. It's tad pricey for the size but undoubtlessly yum. We also tried our friend's Kachapuri, the georgian-style cheese bread with mix of cheeses at the center, then topped with butter and egg. The way it's served was the server would deliver it warm then mixed together the cheese, butter, and egg in front of you. This blend sounded simple yet palatable. You sit down at the table areas where it's for the 4-5 restaurants/food vendors you can order with a QR code on the table. You choose multiple food items and drinks at these different places and they have a server from their places delivering to your table. There is a main restaurant that is dine in only at the market. The food is a little overpriced for simple things that aren't blow your mind tasty but I get the hype of the ambiance and nice quality. If you are coming for food and drinks it's average but if you come for the ambiance to hang out or catch up with friends and family I would say it's great. We got a few things from different places but our favorite was from Sook of their dip called: Muhammara (4/5): Hummus spread that has walnuts and roasted red pepper blended up that gives it a creamy, nutty taste and they have pomegranate molasses on top that gives it a hint of sweetness. The chicken skewer is $18 for 5 pieces of meat smaller than you get at chick fil a. I think it was also undercooked so I sent it back. She told me it was brined and that's why it was pink but we definitely think it was not cooked all the way. Also it tastes very plain, no flavor really and the side is cold and no flavor ... Our first time at Maydan Market and it was such a unique experience. The interior is so well designed and each stall well curated We went on a Saturday night and had reservation was so buzzy. We had a reservation at Maydan and were sat promptly. The open flame grills are awesome and it smells amazing throughout the space. The Maydan menu is not too robust but very interesting offerings, including the wine menu which offers a lot of imported options. The food overall was well executed but we felt were at a higher price point for the portion sizes we got. Highlights were the dips and fresh pita bread and the roasted sweet potato Service was a bit slow and not as attentive but we attributed that to the extremely busy night. Arrived around 6:30pm on Saturday. There's valet and street parking around the building. We were able to find a street parking; walk wasn't very well lit leading up to the building. Reviews are negative about the ordering . It's a little confusing, but doable. There's a sign outside with instructions. QR code to review the menu and then lets you know you can scan QR code at table to order or order directly at each restaurant. When you scan the QR code outside, it pulls up a pdf with 10 pages with lunch and dinner menus. It's a little overwhelming. The Compass Rose menu only has breakfast items, but they do have an evening cocktail menu. We sat down at a table and signed a QR code and it's easier to browse through each restaurant and see exactly what's in stock and can be ordered. You can order from all restaurants at the same time, so we were able to try a little something from each place. You attach your "table number" to your order. You can also change your table number before ordering; we decided to move somewhere more comfortable and noticed not every table clearly showed its table number. We figured since it asked for table number, food would be brought to us but we got text messages to pick up our orders from each place, except for Malena, which delivered to our table. Vesti - we tried the dill and vinegar chips with caramelized onion and cheese dip. It was good, but likely would have been better if it came at the beginning of our meal when we were hungry instead of at the end like dessert. Expected a stronger onion flavor; I think overpowered by the chips and cheese. Malena - Tried the Birria tacos and they were very good! We loved the consumme. Yling Yhang - tried the grilled chicken thigh with chili jam. Very juicy and flavorful from the grill - we really liked the sauce it came with too. Lugyah - Oaxacan cuisine. Their restaurant doesn't have very good signage. My husband got confused and waited there for pick up thinking it was part of Vesti. We tried the Tlayuda. It was a very large portion. Wished there were descriptions of the proteins - we had to google them. It was a little difficult to eat as the beef came on top of the "quesadilla" and the plate was a shallow basket that was difficult to use a knife and fork on. Tried to just fold the meet up inside and use the tortilla like a taco, but it was very messy and leaking all over my hands. Compass Rose: We grabbed two cocktails here. We had to be directed from the part inside to the restaurant to order at their patio and noticed it happens often to other patrons as well. Two drinks cost $50, but at least they were strong. Sook: Browsed the cute little store and had a glass of wine here after dinner. Very unique wines being sold and the person working there was very friendly and had fun facts on each wine. I tried an interesting Amber wine from Georgia. We spent $78 on food only (not drinks) - we were VERY full. Almost wish some of the restaurants had smaller tasting menu size portions so we could try more things without being completely stuffed! I recommend adding better signage for each restaurant with menu signs, not just laminated menus at each counter; allows people to walk around and browse. Maybe even a large menu of all restaurants near entrance would be helpful. Table numbers also need to be more legible and not in tiny red font. read more

Plenty of food courts around LA and plenty of places like Grand Central Market. Now take that idea and put it into a more comfortable location with good ambiance where you don't have to walk from food stall to food stall. Now go one step further, where you can try various cuisines from multiple restaurants all via your table and QR code. We walked in and had no clue what to do, this wonderful woman came right up to us (seeing how confused we looked) and gave us simple directions and then it was time to eat and drink. She was working the room and couldn't have been more helpful. There is Mayadan, as the full-service restaurant, a rotating restaurant (not sure how often it changes) and then a few others to choose from - all with different cuisines. At your table, you can access all of them easily and pick/choose what foods you want to try from any of them via QR code. Couldn't be easier. It's a bit on the pricey side with smaller portions but what isn't these days. Our favorites were the cornbread muffins and the lamb skewers, but everything was great and with so much to try, we'll be back soon. I checked out Maydan Market in Mid-City Los Angeles and it's essentially a beautifully designed food hall that stays busy for a reason. The space is super aesthetic, lively, and feels like a social hub, which makes it a fun spot to gather with friends, even larger groups if you're lucky enough to snag a table. I ordered the jerk chicken from one of the restaurant stalls and paid about $35 for the entrée, which came with rice, one drumstick, and two sides. The food quality was decent and flavorful, though I did feel it was overpriced for the portion. That said, you're clearly paying for the overall experience and ambiance. It does take a little of bit time to navigate through, but you eventually will feel at ease. Note, there is Maydan which is the more formal "sit down" by reservation only section. Then there's the market aspect, which are all by walk-ins. Both cool concepts, although a bit overwhelming! The food itself was impeccable. However because it's freshly opened, the staff are not yet well rehearsed. First: The host at the door went through a long drawn out explanation when we were just really ready to go in and walk around the place in toilet place so he made it more confusing. I think he should have just explained we could sit wherever we want it, show us the scan on the table and let us know he was there if we had any questions. Second: At the Coffee bar, there was a lot of confusion about which table ordered what. Third: We ordered Thai fried chicken, mango salad, and sticky rice from Golden Mountain. He brought our chicken out fresh and hot then left and never came back. I went back to the counter to ask where was our sticky rice and mango salad and he said "oh sorry" he had forgotten so we had to wait for him to prepare it so our chicken had pretty much cooled off by the time we got our sides. Brought a friend here recently for her birthday and had a wonderful meal here. This place is such a vibe. Note: Maydan market restaurant is inside the market, which has its own separate Mediterranean menu. We started off with some of their spreads. They were all fantastic and served with fresh flatbread. The best part was that they kept refilling the flatbread throughout the meal! I could probably just come here and make a meal out of their spreads alone. So onto the mains and sides, we tried the following: * Rib Eye - 4/5 - Super tender and seasoned well * Chicken Thigh - 3/5 - Wasn't that impressed with it. Chicken was cooked well and flavorful, but the portion was smaller than we'd hoped. * Oyster Mushroom - 5/5 - Smokey goodness! Definitely a must. * Shrimp kebab - 5/5 - We all loved this. The TAWLE: FULL MAYDĀN EXPERIENCE is something that must be tried no matter what you do when you come here but make sure your appetite is ready. This night was loud, decorative and peaceful at the same time. I wish you could smell and taste all the different components that were meant to be shared bite for bite with the lamb, bite for bite with each other... an experience where you discover your own flavors all together. Maydan market is great. The place is a food hall with the hearth in the center firing up food for the whole place. Interesting communal concept. The best part is you can just grab a seat in the middle, it's a free for all. Use QR code and they will bring your order. The only thing here is that some places bring your food and some don't, so it's a bit messy. And honestly, if some places aren't even bringing you food or bussing it, who am I tipping? I guess the cleaning crew. You can make reservations to Maydan, it's a mediterranean restaurant and it was very delicious - this is the only place you can't order from QR if you sit in the middle of the food hall. Others have noted a few things that make this spot confusing, but I didn't really experience this. Outside there is a sign which explains what to do: walk in and find a table. Then there's a QR code on the table. Scan that and peruse the menus of all of the spots and place your order. Yes, you do have to enter credit card details, but this is just a small step and not ideal perhaps if you're unfamiliar. Also, if you want alcohol, you do have to enter your bday, BUT you can use a drop down to scroll to your birth year and it's a snap from there. (Another reviewer mentioned having to go month by month, which was user error :) We chose drinks from Compass Rose, a pork tamale (savory, simple) from Malena, salad (complex, fresh) from Sook, and a chicken thigh plate (filling, flavorful) from Yhing Yhang. Everything was delicious - truly! Loved my pet nat wine as well. All of the food was brought to our table. I was getting texts saying the food was ready and I could pick it up, so that could have been confusing, except that the food started arriving before I even looked at my phone again. So maybe when it's super busy picking up your food is their backup for when servers aren't available. I found the staff to be helpful and friendly in delivering our plates and checking in. Coffee/cocktail bar, wine bar, two Mexican restaurants (different types of cuisine), a southeast Asian restaurant, a middle eastern restaurant, and a 7th rotating spot. I tried Maléna (separate review on their page) & really enjoyed the food. You can sit anywhere in the market, order via a QR code, and then pick up your food from the business or have it brought to you. SERVICE-- It's lacking a bit due to the ordering system. The ordering system also isn't very friendly to older people. Cash-less, but also, there's no way to pay via a card if you don't have a smartphone - with the exception being the coffee bar. We sat at the bar at Maléna but weren't greeted, again, due to the ordering system. It's fine, but unexpected. It sort of feels a little dystopian to me. Is this the future of dining out? Some people will love it. I wasn't a fan, but since I enjoyed my food, I would still visit this market again. AMBIANCE-- The space is so beautiful. There's lots of seating, including an outdoor patio in the front cafe area and in the back. The bathrooms are clean and cute, though the stalls are pretty small. It's very lively in there. You feel carefree and relaxed here. And it's like many restaurants in one with emphasis on open fire cooking. Maydan is obviously the show stopper. Dined their DC location twice and the west Adams location is not disappointing at all. Recommend the ribeye entree 100%. The aroma from the charcoal is not something you can overlook. Other places in there a quite good too. I have a bias for Asian grills and Yhing Yhang is definitely contributing to this bias. I never know you can grill a chicken breast so well? That skin locks up all the moisture and flavor. Very contained seasoning so it brings out the unique charm of open fire cooking. Wherever you order your food, the sever will bring it out to you. Maydan Market is so cute and convenient for a group because there's something for everybody. You don't have to order from the same place but you can eat together. I went during lunch and I saw that some of the places were only open in the evening so I will have to go back to try some of the other restaurants. read more

I was so stoked to support this place, but it took me a while to get there because it's over an hour away. I convinced my girl J to join me for an adventure and off we went in the wrong direction. I wanted this to be my new favorite spot. It looks IDEAL for a fun date night. So many choices, so little stomach, right? But wow, it was disappointing. The food was good, but not great. The portion sizes v prices were so far off it felt embarrassing. We circled all the options before making our decisions and we did not end up being happy with what we chose. And neither of us really felt like we should have tried (or wanted to pay for) something/anything else. Also, there were very limited options for vegans for a food hall, so I can't even return with my absolutely-not-boyfriend for vibes. This is going to be a mixed review -- there were a lot of things I really loved, and others that made me wonder how such simple issues slipped through. On the positive side, the space itself is beautiful. I hesitate to call it a food court because it feels more like an upscale, modern market -- chic but comfortable. We tried the Khachapuri from Compass Rose and the fried chicken sandwich from Magnificent Wings. The sandwich was solid (even though the biscuit was a bit underbaked), and the Khachapuri was excellent. Now, where things fell apart: technology and communication. The website is a mess. It lists the market as opening at 11:00 AM -- not true. You can walk in, but vendors aren't actually open. When I approached Yhing Yhang to check out the menu, I was curtly told, "We're not open." Oddly enough, the website said Compass Rose didn't open until 5:00 PM, yet they were serving food. Then there's the ordering system. Scanning a QR code to order food might make sense at McDonald's, but at an upscale market like this? It kills the vibe. When I tried to order a glass of wine, it asked for my birthdate -- but the calendar only let me scroll back one month at a time. Unless you just turned 21, that's hundreds of taps. I gave up and walked over to Compass Rose, where the staff was friendly and helpful (wish I'd done that from the start). Later, I ordered the chicken sandwich through the app. Even though there's no table service, the system still prompted me to tip 18% or more -- and then texted me to pick up my food instead of delivering it to the table. So why am I tipping 18% for counter service? To make things more confusing, I got two more texts saying my order was ready, making me think it might've been double-made. Overall, the space and concept have a lot of potential. But they've overcomplicated the experience with bad tech and poor communication. The market's been open a few weeks now -- these issues should've been worked out by this point, especially since the owners said they've done this concept before on the East Coast. read more

Cannot say enough great things about Maydan Market! Early contender for my 10 LA meals of the year! Highly recommend the $95 set meal...but expect to have A LOT of leftovers unless you wear stretchy pants. read more

I'm extremely happy such an amazing restaurant has opened in West Adam's. They are located right across the street from highly likely. The building is absolutely beautiful. So much care has been put into the details. The setup of the "market" was a bit confusing at first. It's basically an elevated food hall with 5 or so restaurants in one location. The seating is open with the exception of maydan. Maydan has a beautiful fire pit where the chefs cook with bar seating around it. I'm not sure if the bar seating requires reservations but they are on open table. Compass Rose is their bar located in their patio which faces Jefferson. It's a great outdoor space with some unique cocktails, I tried the beet Paloma which was on the sweet side but had such a unique flavor. They also serve food - their flatbread was absolutely delicious. We tried the crispy shrimp taco at Malena, loved it. The wings at Melnificent wing was a bit pricy but delicious. The chicken in mole sauce at Lugya'h was also a unique flavor, my friend loved it but it wasn't really for me. I look forward to trying more things on all their menu. The clear WINNER was yhing yhang - the chicken combo plate was so good! Their wings were also amazing. I'm now a huge fan of southeast asian bbq What I like is that you can meet a group of friends and everyone can get their own food from different vendors. Hoping the ordering system will improve. The good thing is you can order everything on your phone (via QR code) all at once. Once the food is ready, you'll get a text and you have to go to each vendor to pick up the food. The one problem could be just because it was opening weekend but the food came out at much different times. For instance the beers from compass rose came out quickly and cocktails took a while (30 min?). Some food was ready in 10 min whereas another vendor took 40 min. I plan to head back to try Maydan, the menu looks amazing. I'll definitely write an update once I do. Parking - valet parking but street parking is quite easy in the area. read more

If you come at the right time. Maydan Market is a good vibe with mostly good food. For us, that was around 1pm on the weekend. A good bus of people but still able to find seating as well as free street parking. You pick your own table and order via QR. Website a bit janky and lack of integration with Apple Pay also a nuisance but otherwise works fine. Margs were solid but small glass and lots of ice means it's a quick sip and not super worth. Yogurt dip was phenomenal. And comes with lots of dip where you may need to get more of the pillowy nicely grilled pita bread. Fish tacos were solid - lots of filling, good crispy shell, and nice salsa with a small kick. Tomal mole not bad either - good depth of flavor and chew. Fried chicken burger huge let down. They delivered to wrong table and after catching it, seemed like they rushed it. Minimal batter, ok cooked chicken, flavored still ok but didn't make for anything special. Service overall good though. Cool spot with nice ambiance and variety. read more

I came here on Wednesday at about 8ish pm with 4 friends, and it was busy, busy. The space is beautiful and vibey. I would definitely recommend making reservations ahead of time to guarantee a table - At the main sit down restaurant. The layout is food court chic. There are various restaurants to try and the center area seating is all open, first come first serve, no reservations required. We tried a few things from Máléna - picaditas and the Torreja dessert, Lugya'h - Tlayuda de chorizo, and cocktails from Compass Rose. Everything we tried was delicious. Malena - The picaditas were a nice little starter, and the torreja was a light surprising little dessert the sweetness of the bread and the bland rice blend balance each other really well. Lugya'h- the chorizo tlayuda was a sleeper. Delicious with good textures, we added a side of blood sausage which had an interesting flavor which is hard to describe for me but was really good. So much so we ordered a 2nd side. The Compass Rose had a full bar, we were pretty basic and for beers since we all worked the next day. I will definitely be back to try the restaurant, or more of the food offerings from the various other spots in the market. read more

Checked out two spots while there, Maydan and the Mexican spot that's at the center of the place. Starting off with the place itself, it's kind of like a fancy food hall. For some restaurants you can sit at the open tables and order through a QR code, you then get a notification to pick up your order once ready. For others, there are exclusive tables that you need either reservations for or put your name down. The food itself was good, everything I tried tasted great including the tlayuda with the three meats. The carne asada had an amazing charcoal grill flavor, the smokiness was perfect. The blood sausage was really good and had a nice kick. Chorizo was a bit oily but it was ok, and the tlayuda had a nice crunch and went great with the hot sauce they give you. At Maydan we got the oyster mushrooms, eggplant, lamb sheesh kebab and the garlic spread. I couldn't help but compare it to Bavel, my favorite restaurant. The oyster mushrooms were really good, meatier than Bavel's. You can taste more spices here, whereas Bavel you can taste the smokiness and the green sauce. I still prefer Bavel's. The eggplant was really good, very meaty as well and very well-seasoned. Lamb kebab was tender and juicy. Overall great spot. Parking wasn't too tough in the residential area. They do have valet available if you don't want to stress about that. read more
