Came here on a Tuesday for a girls dinner. When I made the reservation, the GM reached out to me to ask if we needed any accommodations or if it was a special occasion which was so nice! Walking in, the interior is SO CUTE. It's one of the reasons I wanted to come here - I've driven by a couple times and always wanted to go in. Our servers were also great and super attentive. We started with a bottle of Chardonnay, the chicken liver tartlet, oysters with trout roe, and duck confit "cigars". The tartlet was delicious - crust was super light and crunchy and I loved the pairing with the apple in it. Also can't go wrong with some oysters. The trout roe added a punch of extra flavor. Duck confit cigars were like very elevated eggrolls - very tasty and satisfying to eat. For our main, we had the lamb rib chops (forgot to take picture), which were also delicious. Cooked very well and the chickpea purée with olives added creaminess and saltiness to the dish. We ended dinner with an old fashioned each, madeleines, and eclairs. Both desserts were great, but I would recommend the madeleines. The brown butter really makes a difference! I would recommend this restaurant for a date night or girls night! The atmosphere is beautiful--the vibe, furniture, and tables are elegant, making it a perfect spot for a date. However, the food was just okay and fell below my expectations. You don't need a special occasion for Juliet, as any meal makes your meal feel festive. Beautifully executed food--we loved most everything we ordered: steak, mushroom risotto, endive salad (the duck cigars were just okay). However, the service felt flat. We were there for a birthday, which we noted on the reservation. Then the hostess asked specifically if it was a special occasion. I assumed after several hundred dollars worth of dinner, they might bring a small token dessert. Nope. We asked the waitress, "Do you have a good birthday dessert?" To which she replied, "Well, just order something and we'll put a candle in it." Gee, thanks. In addition, they sell several champagnes by the ounce. A great idea, right? We were able to grab a last minute reservation on a Thursday night. We were seated promptly, but the restaurant was not very busy anyways. Service was... snooty. They were all up in our business trying to get us to order wine (asked us three different times). Once they realized we didn't want wine, they disappeared. They recommend you do family style here. I do too because if you don't, you may be sitting there starving for quite a while. Food came out very slowly - one plate at a time once in a blue moon. Each portion is rabbit sized. As in they were tiny. We dropped like $250 for three people and left hungry. Food was ok. Some dishes were interesting such as the Mousse au Foie Volaille, a chicken liver tartlet with apple gelée. The fancy snow on top tasted like cheese popcorn. Interesting - and a little yummy - but this tartlet took the "let" part of its name seriously. It was tiny. I went to Juliet yesterday for lunch. We had 6 people in our group, but there was only about 3 to 4 other groups eating at this time. The menu was pretty limited but we ordered a couple apps to share, which came out fairly fast. However, it took over an hour to get our main courses. I ordered the Ratatouille but when I took a bite of the poached egg, there was something crunchy when I started chewing. It felt like tiny pieces of egg shells, and one of my friends noticed a little brown spec that looked like an egg shell on the side of the poached egg. I told our server about the egg shell and she told me it's likely flakes of sea salt (it definitely wasn't). She offered to make another one but we had already been there 1.5 hours and I had to head back to work so I just had them take it back. I was very disappointed with our experience at Juliet, especially considering the price point and the restaurant's positioning as a fine-dining destination. [[HIGHLIGHT]]First, the seating was poor for our group of six. We were placed at a long table directly next to the open kitchen. The bright lights and constant noise completely disrupted the ambiance and made conversation difficult.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] For a restaurant that emphasizes the dining experience, this setup felt careless. The wine list was also frustrating. Instead of standard pours, wines were offered in confusing formats: half glass, full glass, larger glass, and carafe (half bottle). The menu relied on pictures rather than clear measurements, which made ordering unnecessarily complicated. Even more concerning, the prices were extremely high for the quality of wine being offered. The food itself was underwhelming. The menu descriptions were vague, and some dishes that should clearly be sides were listed as mains. For example, we ordered the zucchini "main," which turned out to be a single zucchini cut in half lengthwise and placed on a plate without sauce or any meaningful culinary presentation. At $25, it felt shockingly minimal. The $75 steak dish was also disappointing. I dine at many steak restaurants in Los Angeles and have an extensive culinary background, so I'm comfortable evaluating meat quality and preparation. I clarified with the server that medium temperature would be bright pink throughout; she even described it as having some red in the middle (essentially mid-rare). However, the steaks arrived incorrectly cooked: the medium came out medium-well, and the mid-rare came out closer to medium. The flavor was acceptable, but the meat quality itself was mediocre. Service execution also fell short. For a restaurant presenting itself as fine dining--and with us seated only a few feet from the kitchen--it should not be difficult to serve a table of six at the same time. Instead, three of us received our steaks about four minutes before the other three. Because of the awkward seating near the kitchen and the staggered service, our already overpriced dinner made it difficult to actually enjoy time catching up together. Ultimately, nothing about the experience felt special or demonstrated thoughtful hospitality. Between the poor seating, confusing wine program, underwhelming food, and lack of service coordination, the restaurant simply does not compete with many other places in Los Angeles that cost the same--or even less. Unfortunately, I have no reason to recommend this restaurant, and none of us plan to return. read more

Came here for a birthday dinner at around 6pm on a weekday, with a reservation booked weeks in advance, and was seated at a table right next to the door entrance, with the cold winter air blowing in every time the door opened (which was often as waiters were often going in and out to take care of the outdoor tables). Asked the host if we could move to one of the MANY empty tables away from the door that were still empty and was turned down because of "reservations". I could understand if the place was fully packed and we had no choice, but there was only 3 tables of people dining when we got there. This immediately left a sour start to the meal. -1 star The dinner was only redeemed by the delicious French forward food and great service. The chicken liver tartlet was unexpected in its delivery but quite tasty. We ordered the endives since every review here seems to have raved about it; it was quite good even though I don't enjoy mustard-based sauces and blue cheese. The duck confit cigars were fun to eat, with amazing sauce to dip into. The highlight of the dinner was the sea bass with ratatouille, with its crispy skin and perfectly cooked veggies with delish pesto sauce. This was only topped by the Madeline's - warm and fresh out of the oven, these aren't your Costco Madeline's - must try! Cheesecake was also quite good, but as cheesecake is one of my favorite desserts, I can't say this was the best in the US as another reviewer rated (and the reason I wanted to try it heh). read more

Came here for dinner prior to catching a show at the nearby Kirk Douglas theater and made a reservation online in advance. Had the tarama to start, which is a light start to the meal. We got the salad classique per our waiter's recommendation, and really enjoyed the tumeric flavor in the dressing. I had the poulet roti which came atop a bed of grilled veggies and I really enjoyed it. My sister's scallops were super rich and the table's favorite. The lamb chops would be the next favorite. The fish is a good option for someone looking for something a bit lighter. Metered street parking available at a further walk or you can park at the garage. Credit cards accepted. Indoor and outdoor seating available. The tables are kind of small so I wouldn't recommend groups bigger than 4 coming. Definitely get the dessert even if you're full - the mousse au chocolate is a must-have. The little chocolate pearls on top of the velvety smooth mousse was a perfect combination of textures and it wasn't too sweet (the ultimate compliment by my parents). read more

Street parking can be hit or miss in this area. Had weekend dinner reservations here. They have valet available in the adjacent garage. Or there is also a separate self-park garage at the other end of the building. It's just a 3-minute walk and pretty convenient. The restaurant has an indoor-outdoor layout and we were seated at a table right at the edge so technically on the patio. There were plenty of heated lamps overhead so didn't feel cold at all. Props to our cool server, Mark, with his even cooler Scottish accent. He was wonderful, offering great suggestions on the drinks and food as well as helpful travel tips for Scotland. The top half of the menu lists cold items and hot items on the bottom half. The plate portions are all meant to be shareable. The food in general was a solid 3+. Nothing distinctively stellar. We started out with the chicken liver tartlet which was probably the most intriguing item all night. We liked it so much that we ordered another one to bookend our meal. It had a really good flavor profile and a mousse-like consistency. The tartlet was light, crispy and served as a bed for the tasty chicken liver pate mixture. The shiny thin coat of apple gelee on the plate was a nice sweet complement to the chicken liver. I had high hopes for the duck confit cigars, but they just reminded me of egg rolls, and generic ones at best. The salad classique and the poulet roti portions were both quite filling. They both tasted fine but not special in any way. Of the eclairs, the dark chocolate-sea salt is what you would expect from a typical good eclair. The yuzu-poppyseed was more appealing to me because it was unique and fun, like a new little dance for the palette. I paired the dessert with a hot chocolate which was densely rich (which I think may have gone better if we had the madelines for dessert instead). Overall it was a decent meal. Gorgeous spot with a modern French menu located in Culver City. Juliet has the wine bar charm but with plenty of real estate to relax and enjoy. The food and vibes both feel decorated without being loud - very clean girl. Start with the tarama. It's a whipped cod dip with dill oil served with breakfast radish slices. If you're like me and have been super into the tinned fish trend, you'll find joy in the fishy flavor. The refreshing radish bites def balance out the brine but could be a tad too pungent if you're not into that. The chicken liver tartlet is a must! The rich mousse and the crunchy hazelnuts taste perfect. It sits on top of the apple gelée so make sure to scrape it off the metal plate. It's tiny and expensive, but this is the splurge you're working for. The risotto is quite basic, and pricey for what it is. A simple acquerello rice base with mistake mushrooms and sage. I love, love, love this place so much! I've gone at least three times, including for my 40th birthday -- a big milestone. The patio is gorgeous and one of my favorite patios in LA, but the ambiance inside is also really lovely, thanks to the gorgeous decor. And the service is always excellent, with such attentive staff. I usually go for brunch/lunch, but for my birthday, I went for dinner. Fancy ambiance, but very overpriced for what you get. We came to Juliet to have a nice celebration dinner for a friend. While everything we had tasted very good, I can't justify the cost for the size of the portions or the service which was on the slow side. If you come I recommend doing shared dishes for the whole table, but be prepared to shell out if you actually want to leave full. My favorite things we ordered were the corn risotto and boneless half chicken. The menu selection is also quite small so there wasn't a ton of variety to choose from. The reason this isn't a 1 star review is because the hostess was very kind about my party arriving late. That is where the good service ends. That said, a few things here: 1. Originally, I thought my sister-in-law was just being difficult, but my server could not have been more cold or unaccommodating to my table if he tried. At the price of the food, things like minor substitutions shouldn't be an issue, or at the least they should charge us for substitutions. It shouldn't disqualify a dish because I can't eat the sides. Our waiter was being much nicer to other tables, so he decided to have a gripe with my family and I, which isn't right. 2. My stepmom is allergic to onions, and the salads don't list that they have onions at all. When we got the salad, it was filled with raw onions. I asked if the dish could be returned, and he said no. I said "if we knew there were raw onions in the dish, we wouldn't have ordered it." My server's answer: "I don't know what to tell you." My stepmom and my Dad had to spend about 5-10 minutes picking onions out of the salad. When I told him, nicely and graciously might I add, that onions are something that should be listed on a menu, since a fair amount of folks are allergic to onions. His response was a quick "yes sir," and he bolted away. Mind you, the restaurant was not at all busy. He just didn't care. 3. My sister-in-law asked to have the chives removed from her salad. When she asked, the server acknowledged that request and said "I'll ask them to not add chives." Her salad came covered in chives. The server's response was "oh, I asked them not to include them." At that point, we had been waiting 15 mins for a salad, she decided to just scrape off the chives. It wasn't worth sending back. Plus, we had no faith they would take back the salad, because they wouldn't take back the other salad that was full of onions. 4. The chicken I ordered was cold in the center at certain parts. At this point, I didn't care to complain. I didn't trust anything would remedied, and (though I know it sounds paranoid) I didn't trust that this guy wouldn't spit in my food at this point, because of his disdain for my table. I figure I'm just going to cut my losses. I'm not really wanting to come back here. My sister-in-law and brother, who were semi-frequent customers, do not want to come back here. My suggestion to the restaurant: be more accommodating at your price point, and train your wait staff to be warmer to their customers. Customer service matters at the price point of this restaurant. My suggestion to potential customers: the service negates the quality of the food (which depends on the dish and I guess the server and chef that night) and the price is high. Been meaning to write this review since a month ago when I first experienced Juliet via a hosted business dinner by one of our vendors. Can't say enough about how wonderful that experience was. At first I'll admit I wasn't sure what to expect given the location (so close to the Platform and what I originally thought would be what I call 'cookie-cutter-trendy'). Instead, experienced a genuinely delightful dinner. Greeted warmly by the hostess and lead to our table, where we all agreed from start to finish it was one of the most memorable experiences especially given we decided to do family style and try as many dishes as we could. For this reason our group of 6, all self-proclaimed foodies, decided to lean in on our server Mark (from Scotland, who needs to be commended for how great he was with us- what a pleasant fellow) to help guide our meal. What commenced was just...beyond. Every single dish was not only aesthetically pleasing and photo-worthy but tasted it to match. Even the vegetarian dishes took us by surprise with how delicious they were. Cocktails were divine, as was the wine list. And don't skip on dessert because they were all so delectable. Finally got to try Juliet this past weekend and am glad I did! It's located in the platform in Culver which is a cool area. There is a parking garage on the side that was $5 and was very convenient! I made a reservation and they seated us upon arrival. They originally seated us close to the entrance so we asked if there was anything else available and they kindly moved us to a better spot. The menu is small and divided by course. We started with the oysters which were delicious! The bread and butter was also really good and a great starter. The sliced amberjack was served in a really good lemon sauce, highly recommend! The risotto was good and the chicken was pretty bland. I will say the reviews on this place are all over the place, I'm not sure if we just picked the right dishes or what but each of the items we got were really good. The drinks were nice and fruity, very simple but a nice heavy pour!! The tarama was refreshing & made me realize how much I love radishes, but omg do I wish they'd give more than two pieces of bread lmao. The crudo was a bit pricey but the fish was fresh and the lemon ponzu was so good, I could've drank it. They had the asparagus dish on the specials, it was perfectly cooked asparagus with a lemon ricotta whip & Parmesan cheese on top, if it's on the menu when you go, get it. This is a different gnocchi than they've had before, it was light and delicious. gnocchi was cooked perfectly. Dessert is a must & a chocolate mousse is my go tooooo. This was amazing, it had little chocolate pearls which was a nice crunchy touch. Very rich! But all mousse normally are! Our waiter was helpful and told us lots of his favorites off the menu. The outside of this place is gorgeous and the inside is even prettier. Perfect for a date night. The service was lovely (our waiter had the cutest Irish brogue and friendly demeanor) but the dishes were sorely lacking. Tuna carpaccio - solid dish, loved the salt and touches of tonnato. It's more like a 3.5 but Juliet is a beautiful restaurant. The outdoor patio is heated and plenty of seating for big groups. The interior is stunning, but a little tight - we had to ask for a different table as ppl kept squeezing by us to use the restroom. The view of the bar and kitchen are my favorite. Now for the food. The menu is seafood focused. We ordered: - Endive Salad: 7/10 loved the mustard vinaigrette, came with huge chunks of blue cheese. - Amberjack crudo: 9/10 this was so good, very nice lemon and yuzu flavor. Would only be good portion for 1-2 ppl. - Corn Risotto: 8/10 very pretty dish, the sungold tomatoes were a nice burst of flavor on top. - Seabream: 7.5/10 nicely cooked, tasty, but not very memorable. It complemented the risotto. I also ordered a half glass of orange wine. They have a great wine list and cocktail menu. Overall I think come for drinks and small bites, but don't expect to be full. Everything is very light and fresh. You can tell the ingredients are good. Not sure I'd be dying to come back. We didn't order dessert because each were $16+! I'm a bit torn on my thoughts on Juliet. I found the service to be nice overall and the ambiance is definitely lovely. I ordered the mussels and duck confit cigars. The mussels were an absolute standout - they had so much flavor and a pleasant texture and I loved eating them on the toast! The duck confit cigars really fell flat for me. They tasted fairly monotonous - oily and very fried, and the aioli was okay but I truthfully felt a bit ill after eating these I was also slightly bothered because I was offered a choice between only still / sparkling water and chose still, only to realize I was charged for a $10 bottle. When I arrived the hostess immediately greeted me and took me to my table while I waited for my guest to arrive. I was provided water and once my guest arrived our waitress walked us through the cocktail list and menu. I appreciated her honesty and guidance in making sure we didn't order too much or too little . The food was delicious - but petit. Hubby & I dined here for dinner tonight to celebrate his birthday. It was our first time here & since we both like French food & like trying to new places, we thought why not give this place a try. Our reservations were at 6pm & we were surprised that it was pretty empty for a Saturday evening but their modern ambiance & the dim lighting was inviting. The restaurant got busier as we were leaving at 8. Service was excellent & our server was knowledgeable about the food & wine pairing. We ordered the Endive salad & Bluefin tuna carpaccio to start with & Wild Sea bream & Duck confit cigars to share as a main course. As for Vino, we were recommended Italian red which paired well with our food. We enjoyed every bite of our food. The simple salad was packed with flavor minus the blue cheese & the carpaccio tasted so light! Sea bream was perfectly cooked with a side of ratatouille & the duck confit was crispy & dipping it into the sauce made it taste that much better. The blessing part of the evening was our server gave us complimentary glass of champagne to end the night. I would like to come back to try their other dishes in the future. read more

To start - made reservation. The reservations read dining room. However, was led to a table outside. When I asked about my "dining room" reservation, they said they'd try to move things around to accommodate me and a friend. Fortunately, it wasn't too windy and there are heaters so we made do. Service was great. The team worked in unison to make sure we were taken care of. Our server knew her drinks and food. Made drink suggestions that were followed and enjoyed. See pics. Almost forgot to mention the parking. I heard there was valet however, whenever I'm around this area, I park in the structure. Entrance on Landmark. I don't remember how much it was but know that street parking is tough. As for the food. I ordered the mussels and gnocchi. I enjoyed the mussels, especially appreciated that they were already shucked. See pics. The gnocchi. A little on the bland side but what got me was the portion size. If you look at my pic, what you see is what I got. No layers of more pasta underneath. I thought about ordering another course but decided against it. Overall, I felt it was ok experience. Just get some clarification about seating if you go as some don't like outdoor seating. And keep in mind the portion sizes lean towards the smaller side. read more

Juliet is a new restaurant located on trendy Washington Bl in Culver City. Only valet parking is available in the same building and the restaurant will validate a portion, final cost is a $Hamilton. Street parking is a challenge. This restaurant occupies the ground level and has an expansive outdoor patio with a view of busy Washington Bl. The patio doesn't have enough privacy greens from drive by/walk by street gawkers :( Service was cordial, attentive and nice by the hosts, waitress and general manager. The menu offers selections that claim to be French with a modern Californian flair and more seafood choices. Wine list offers tasting portions, which I liked and enjoyed. Have only dined here during lunchtime and liked every dish. Portions are smaller and on the lighter side, hence the California flair. The tuna carpaccio, oysters, endive salad, passion fruit cheesecake, wines and champagnes were all delightful and lighthearted. If you're looking for a hearty meal, this is not the place unless you order an omelette, croque madam or baguette and french butter to satiate your hunger. I would like a nice charcuterie plate and french fries added to the menu to pair with the wine tasting. Juliet is among the nicer restaurants that's business meeting appropriate in Culver City and worth a visit. read more

Food - 4 stars. The portions are not large. The chicken liver pate was about 3 inches in diameter and was $18, but very good. Sea bream was a little dry and lack flavor and was served cold- I didn't even complain about this! Eggplant and Bok Choy were good. The duck confit rolls were good, but too salty and very rich. We celebrated a birthday and they delivered the Madelines but charged us $18, but they did comp us with a glass of champagne. Ambiance-4 stars but 2 stars for the acoustics- I couldn't hear anything, it was so loud in the restaurant! Service - good, the server was attentive, replenished the water bottle. Valet is $15 after validation, otherwise you pay $20! read more

I read mixed reviews before coming, and that's what was delivered. A lot of the criticism was the price point, and yes, it's a bit much. But I'm fine with a higher price point if the food delivers, which this unfortunately didn't. The endive salad was wonderful, but the rest of the plates had issues. The gnocchi was way too dense. They weren't fluffy pillows of air, but chewy tubes of starch. The cauliflower was so oversalted out was inedible and we had to send it back. The cheesecake was one note, all sweet upon sweet upon sweet with the passion fruit (which is sweet enough!) and kiwi and pineapple. The crust on the bottom was also way too thick, it impeded on the cheesecake. The drinks were great, though, so I'd come back for those, but with so many excellent French options in the city, this place has to tweak the menu a bit to compete, especially at this price point. read more
