Last night was our first time at this establishment. The atmosphere is wonderful and I thoroughly enjoyed the decor. Our server Felicia was outstanding and friendly and really cared about our experience. We had an issue with our reservation, but Debbie, the manager was quick to resolve it. My first time in Joliet, and I am not disappointed I stopped into Juliet's. My boyfriend ordered the lasagna, it was exceptional. I had a special chicken risotto that had a genius addition of a green Thai curry sauce, it was phenomenal. Price was good and staff were attentive. Also they have a big sign outside on the windows saying burgers and sandwiches, but the menu really only offers like 1 or two of each. Everything else was closed in the area that day. The hidden gem of Joliet!! Ironically, I wanted pasta, but I could only find this sports bar and about thirty Mexican restaurants, so we chose the sports bar. Guess what guys-- there's pasta!!! We started with the meatballs. Let me tell you, I'd have been happy with the meatballs as my entree- or so I bought. I ordered gnocchi with vodka sauce and my husband ordered fettuccine alfredo with sausage.. I wish I had a bigger belly. These entrees were phenomenal. I'm so happy we came here. The service was great. However the food was not so great. I wanted to order the Lasagna and was told it would take up to 20 min to cook. Really? 20 min at an Italian restaurant? Our son ordered pizza. It tasted and looked like a cheap freezer pizza. I'm not sure about their drinks as no one at our table had any alcoholic drinks. Overall it was a disappointment. I was recently invited to a 50Th Birthday Party, by a friends daughter. I guess originally they had told the person that reserved the room the party would be in a special upstairs room and this room is the main reason Juliet's was agreed on. The room was reserved in May of 2018 for a party in November of 2018 6 months ahead of time. One month before the Party was to take place the person who was planning the party was called and told that Juliet's would have to move her party to the main dining room. The reason for this was because they needed to use the upstairs room for a memorial service on the same day. They gave her no choice she had to give up the room she had reserved and put a deposit on. I guess the owners decided they would give that room to a friend having a baby shower because that's the room the wanted. Well my friends daughter had no choice but to move her mom's surprise party to the main dining room even though she had reserved the other room and held it with a deposit. With it now being 4 weeks before the party it was too late to get another place at the last minute. The service was bad they didn't bring out pitchers of non alcoholic beverages even though the meal included Tea or coffee or soda. They didn't pass out baskets of bread which was suppose to be included. We had to ask for every thing. I will never return here and neither will the other 40 guests that attended the surprise party. The had various charges for the same glass of wine charging 1 guest $11 and another one $9.00. We did manage to have a nice time but it was no thanks to this restaurant. read more

We had a reservation at 4:30, and we arrived early with a party of five. They were not busy and we were seated after waiting FIFTEEN MINUTES for someone to greet us and set the table up. The place was NOT BUSY. Upon being seated, we waited for our server and ordered our drinks. We only received ONE of our ordered drinks. Our server came back and we ordered our meals. They did not have HALF OF THEIR SIDES available as they had a "big party last night". They only had mussel soup, nothing else. After ordering, our server did not bring our salad appetizer we bought. She never looked at our table again.... We waited and waited for ANY OF OUR FOOD. After waiting about FORTY FIVE MINUTES overall, we had NO FOOD. WE WALKED OUT. When we left, we told the manager of our terrible service and she preceded to complain that our reservation was not until 4:30. We told her that when we were sat down that we came early for our reservation. Absolutely terrible place! It was not busy in the least and I know why. Happy graduation dinner! read more

I visited Juliet's a few months ago ( I was so disappointed that I thought I would give myself a little bit to cool down before writing a review). I was very excited to try this new establishment and to support small businesses in Joliet, and that is where my excitement ended. We had made reservations for 5 people on a Friday at 7:30 pm, there was a show at the Rialto that night and we knew it would be busy (hence the reservation making). We were told it would be awhile before our table was ready so we attempted to get some drinks at the packed bar. We stood there for over 10 mins without so much as eye contact from the manager, 2 bartenders and 2 bar backs. Finally, one of the people in my party stopped someone behind the bar and asked "are you the bartender?" To which she responded with an eye roll and attitude and said "yes." To which the person responded "well I wasn't sure, there are four of you back there and no one has greeted us at all." The bartender responded, "well, I have a tie on (cue gesture of her pointing out her tie) and he doesn't (insert pointing at bar back), he is just a bar back. What can I get you?" At that point, I was beyond frustrated. I responded to her " It is inappropriate to roll your eyes at a customer in the service industry, we would like nothing from you, thanks." She stated that her name was Kimberly and if we changed our minds to let her know. Now, I understand they were busy, but a simple "hey, we are swamped, here is a drink menu, I will be with you as soon as I can" would have turned our whole experience in a different direction. Instead I was greeted with sass and an eye roll, who wants to go out to dinner after a 40+ hour week and spend their hard earned money to have someone roll their eyes at you?? No one. Which I will not be returning to Juliet's. The food was mediocre at best, one of the men in our party said the chicken tasted like it came from Sam's Club and the tomato sauce tasted canned. The bread was horrible and dry. The chocolate mousse was too gritty to eat. We eventually flagged down the manager to explain the situation, he did discount our bill and said he would speak with Kimberly, however I'm not sure that's enough to bring me back. read more

Decided to dine here since it was the closest to the Harrahs where I was staying. Food was delicious!!!! Very cute ambiance and the staff was friendly. Cheap beer and a great carb meal. I haven't been this blown away by a restaurant in a dog's age. At first glance the unassuming name and entrance is deceiving but...and here's my advice...head up the stairs to the outside veranda up in the trees. There are sofas and easy chairs and ALL(not just some) of the tables have big umbrellas. Nice touches all around ,but it was when we walked back inside (on the second floor) to look around that I really started to get impressed. The owners have done a phenomenal job of preserving the original architecture and choosing lighting and design features that complement the interior brick walls and high ceilings. And it's not just the ambience, the attention to detail was evident in the service as well. Example: when Michael, our server asked if "there was anything else?", I asked for some parmesan cheese. Within a few minutes, someone came up with a micro plane and a wedge of fresh parm. Nice. As for the food, I had the tagliatelle and loved it. My husband had the seafood cobb salad and it was served with the seldom seen green goddess dressing, which was homemade and extremely good. I hope they have good business because I love this place and want them to remain open. We came here on a groupon and I am so glad we discovered it. My second favorite place to eat and imbibe in downtown Joliet ;-) Juliet's is beautifully decorated. They have exceptional customer service. Great management. I huge beautiful bar. Nice dining room. Great place to go for a date, family dinner or to watch a game. They even have a banquet area upstairs for private parties. Complimentary valet service too! I loved the egg plant parm! Fresh egg plant breaded and fried, topped with mozzarella and red sauce, it was nice and crispy and so tasty! Their pizza is great! Best fried calamari I've had in a while.... We went to Juliet's for dinner before a show at the Rialto. First time there and will definitely be the last. Ordered a drink called the Aviation. It was described as a beautiful blue drink. It came to the table pink and when questioned about it, was told they are using a different alcohol so it is not blue! Waitress took away the bread and dipping oil and cheese before salad came. Disappointing! We had been there numerous times in the past however this time it was very disappointing. We ordered a Classic Burger and a Caprese Burger and they were ordered as medium but they came out very well done and very dry. We had to go to a concert down the street so there was no time to wait for it to be cooked again as it had taken almost 40 minutes already for just two burgers. Went back for another visit after 3 months....I can honestly say this experience was perfect. Had a couple drinks at the bar, talked to the bar staff, Kimmy and Karen, I believe. They went above and beyond to make sure we had excellent service at the bar. After a couple drinks at the bar, our table was ready. The young men that set the tables and graded the cheese for the olive oil and bread were very good. They were very polite and did a great job of clearing plates when needed. This place is AMAZING. The pictures on yelp do not do it justice. We started with the oysters and they were a great size and perfect in flavor. We ordered the Duckhorn Cabernet which is one of the best Cabernets I have ever had. We ordered the whitefish, and the caramelized onions with it were perfection. The linguine was by far the best lemon butter sauce I have ever come across, mind you I lived in NYC and Boston as well as a traveler. Great place in downtown Joliet, Too bad the downtown area isn't more lively. First time coming here since it was the Department, and I will definitely be back. Wonderful atmosphere and great food. Good selection of appetizers: we got calamari which was pretty good. Only recommendation is offer side Caesar salads. Money out the window when say you don't have it. I would have gotten one. Entrees: huge selection ranging from pastas to pizzas to fish to steal. I ordered the chicken Parmesan which was really, really good. It had a crispy breeding and topped with very mozzarella. Also came with side of spaghetti, either with marinara or bolognese. Another nice thing about the menu is they pair up each entree with a preferred wine, to bring out the flavor. Desserts: only $4, so why not. We shared the chocolate mousse and tiramisu, both of which were very delicious!! I will be back here again multiple times, and you should too! The interior is classier than most places you'll find in downtown Joliet. Service is excellent, and though drinks are expensive ($9 per specialty cocktail) they are very good. My husband and I decided to try Juliet's after work on Saturday. We had eaten at The Department and were not impressed enough to return. We normally had always eaten at Nardi's - now Tin Roof but the quality of their food has gone down so wanted a new place. The first thing that impressed me was the hostess waited until we were seated and had our coats off before she handed us the menu. Normally the hostess at other restaurants will just throw your menus on the table and walk away so already I was a fan. Next thing that impressed us was Ally. We were already familiar with what a great waitress she is so were happy to see her. Third and most importantly was the food is really good! The appetizers too. We ordered the bruschetta and bacon wrapped dates for apps and I ordered a pasta dish with chicken whose name escapes me at the moment but it started with a T. My husband ordered the prime rib. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is we had to send the steak back to cook longer as he ordered well done and it was sort of medium which would have been exactly how I like it but my husband is finicky about meat being red inside. We will make this our new neighborhood restaurant and visit again. read more

I used to rave about Juliet's. Nice for a casual dinner, yummy bacon dates. So I'm sad to have to leave a 1-star. We had an event there a few weeks ago, and the event order listed for dinner to be served at 6pm. We had one server for a group of 16 and he was just starting to set the table at 6pm. They had no other events on that night as far as I could tell. I had visitors flying in from overseas coming directly from the airport, and they didn't even get salad until 7pm after multiple requests. I was literally giving people granola bars I happened to have in my bag. Super embarrassing. I had a guest who needed to use their elevator and the light was out, so it was completely pitch black. When I asked for a flashlight or something for him, they shrugged. To make it even worse, I went home and sent an email describing the issue and three weeks later, not even a response. The food here was exceptional! We were in town for the evening for a girl's night, expectations were not super high but we were pleasantly surprised. We got the special of the evening, gnocchi in a carbonara sauce and chicken parm, Both were super delicious! (I may have mentioned that I wanted to bathe in the carbonara sauce.) And the wine we ordered at dinner was so good we decided to take a bottle back to the hotel with us. They were out of that wine but let us taste others until we found one we liked, great service! Juliet's is the hallmark of the revitalization of Downtown Joliet! We were diners here when it first opened, and we've always left impressed. No surprise when we decided to host a graduation party here -- our families have been raving about it ever since! I have even passed on contact information for a family member who is planning his wedding. Firstly, Deborah and the events team were quick and responsive. I got every question I had answered -- often, in minutes. They were also very accommodating and always a step ahead of our guests if an item ran out. Secondly, the ambiance and decor is amazing! Little is needed for outside decoration because the spaces are already very well decorated with a classic style suitable for any occasion. Thirdly, the pricing was very reasonable! We definitely got a bang for our buck. Everyone left happy and there was no need to break the bank. Finally, the food was phenomenal! I was originally concerned that the pasta dishes would not be the same as we had before, but I was very pleased to see that Chef Tom keeps high standards at all times. Oh, and the teenage guests devoured to desserts before the adults knew they were out. Needless to say, that Juliet's and its staff exceeded our expectations. Amaaaaaazing pasta; cooked perfectly al dente. The waitress didn't know what "al dente" meant, but luckily the kitchen does. I loved my linguine with the arrabiata sauce and veal meatballs. Very disappointed. We came here based off Yelp reviews and will not come back. We got sat 15 minutes after our reservation time and then it took 20 minutes to get a drink. 1 hour after being seated we finally got our food. One order was wrong, and one of the pasta dishes were extremely overlooked and gritty. The pasta meal was taken back and we ordered a burger in its place. It took another 20 minutes to get the replacement meal. This was all on top of us never being able to find our waiter until the check came. Very disappointing. read more
