The pot roast was nicely shredded and tender, and the gravy was rich, flavorful, and worth every calorie. My husband ordered the chicken fried steak, (he's obviously on a diet!), with fried okra and mac and cheese. The mac and cheese was forgettable, but everything else on his plate was solid. Service was friendly and efficient, and this place definitely fills up at lunch, so plan accordingly. We were a party of 5 and arrived around 7:30p. There was no wait, but the restaurant was pretty full. The bar was completely full, but there were a couple of tables behind the host stand, we were seated quickly after the table was cleaned. All the while we didn't have silverware, we finally had to get some from the host, but apparently all of the actual silverware was being washed, so we were given disposable with the promise we would get real silverware when it was clean - but it never came. The fries were inconsistent. Some of us had warm soft fries, others were hard and chewy. Wings were also inconsistent and mine were cold. The mac and cheese was very good. The surprise entree for the evening was the beer cheese cheesesteak sandwich! Despite the lackluster first experience, I would go back just for this sandwich or order it to go! Employees were handling food and working the register without properly washing their hands, which made me uncomfortable about the cleanliness of the restaurant. Overall, the environment felt negative and unorganized. Management should take customer service, employee treatment, and cleanliness much more seriously.
