We were greeted by an overworked cashier that was manning both the lobby and drive thru by herself. It was very understaffed for a Sunday afternoon when all the churches let out and people are looking for lunch. She worked very good under pressure but one person can only do so much. Other than many of the tables needing wiped off the place was pretty clean. In between taking orders she worked to clean the lobby only to be interrupted to take an order. As I said they were severely understaffed. They definitely had another person cooking in the back only because it was no humanly possible for her to also cook everything. I have no complaints about our food. We paid almost $40 for our family of 4 to eat lunch which is a bit steep for a fast food lunch in my opinion. The food came out quickly enough and was hot and correct which is always great. :) Other than having to search for a table that was "almost clean" I have no real complaints. Had they had enough staff the mission to find a clean table to eat at would not have happened. We will more than likely return the next time we are driving through Terrell and have a craving for either Long Johns or A&W.

The Environment: The moment I walked in, I was hit with a heavy, damp smell, like an old, moldy basement or a sour mop. The table and the ordering kiosk were physically humid and sticky to the touch; I honestly didn't even want to put my hands on them and I think the waiter sensed it too so he removed the kiosk off the table. This lack of deep cleaning likely explains the fly problem. I was seated near the kitchen and spent the entire meal swatting away a swarm. Even while I was placing my order with the waiter, I was actively waving flies away from my face. The waiter saw this happen and didn't acknowledge it. I spent the rest of the meal eating with one hand while guarding my plate with the other. The Service: My waiter was attentive and technically did a good job with the service mechanics. However, he worked the entire time with BOTH earbuds in. It is incredibly unprofessional to have a server stand in front of a guest while they couldn't even be bothered to take off their earphones.
