To be honest, this isn't any restaurant to rave about. We started the night out with chips and salsa of course, but may I mention the chips were stale to the point it was like eating thin cardboard. The salsa was spicy water and flavored with absolutely nothing. Over all a disappointing first taste. Our second round of chips were a tiny bit less stale but the salsa stayed the same. I ordered their street tacos, something that I was told were really good. They were decent, they look pretty much like the picture you see on google but the tortillas they were on were extremely dry and the meat (steak) was nearly straight gristle. The flavor however was good. Only other part of my meal was the root beer I ordered to drink and it was flat and watered down, when I asked for a new soda it was also the same. The service was very nice, so that's a plus but not at all worth the amount of money spent. read more

Returning again but trying something different. The food is consistently good quality. Ordered the Shrimp with mushroom in red spicy sauce. It was enjoyable spicy not terribly spicy. Very tasty actually. The rice and the salad and bean adds to the texture, freshness of the whole experience. The burrito Don Luis with carne asada was also a good order. Spicier than expected with small pieces of jalapeño. Portion is very large too. I have forgotten that their favored lemonade was not great and made the mistake again :). Salsa and chips were tasty. I was in the process of picking up my wife at the nearby nail salon and decided to get some takeout Mexican food at Julio's so we could have a nice meal when we got home. I ordered using DoorDash. When my food was ready I got a notice telling me that my food was ready. I parked my car, got out and entered to pick up my order. When I got inside, it was super busy and very hot. We've had a heat wave in the Seattle area in the past few weeks. I looked around, all the servers and hostess were busy, then I saw a DoorDash sign in the corner of the restaurant placed on a table that said something like "DoorDash orders, pickup here". There were no orders on the table underneath the sign. After waiting about 12 minutes, I asked the lady who looked like she was in charge where my order was as the DoorDash app said it was ready. She told me that my order was in the back. I asked her "why?" She mumbled something that I could not understand. Then I asked her again, "why isn't my DoorDash order at the table where it is supposed to be?" She got extremely angry with me and told me to if I didn't like it to leave the restaurant. Since we were hungry, I took my order and left. I have never been treated with such disrespect in a restaurant in my life. Look I know it was hot and your restaurant was busy, but that doesn't give you the right to lose your patience and be rude to customers. She probably thought I was a DoorDash Dasher as they call them. One guy who was a Dasher was behind me and couldn't believe that she was so angry. She thought she could get away with being rude to a person who was trying to make a living delivering food. Needless to say, we won't be back. read more

Julio's has the most lovely folks running it. The atmosphere is dark and pleasant. The food is delicious, and they were very accommodating to ensuring some of the food was vegan. Two margaritas, two fish tacos and some veggie enchiladas. $70. The service was very slow, the food was mediocre. If you are vegetarian there is really nothing here for you. The veggie enchiladas consisted of nothing but peppers and onions in a tortilla. The rice is plain white rice. ¿un poco de imaginación? My wife and I were arguing so perhaps this colored my review. Long story short, ended this Monday (10/23/17) in a really annoyed state. Fortunately, getting from Lynnwood to downtown Bothell traffic was merciful. I am happy to see the downtown area coming back after the big fire. Lots of construction! I was scheduled to meet up with two former co-workers at Julio's. 5pm and it was fairly full. Sat and perused the menu. Too bad no posole, but started with chips and salsa. I did end up ordering the Carnitas platter ($21 including tax and tip). This particular entree was so generous...flavorful pork carnitas, black beans, rice, tortillas, pico de gallo, guacamole, and sour cream. The place remained packed during the four hours we were there. I wished I had additional cash to tip our wait person more. Food was delicious. Service was friendly but unobtrusive. We were hungry for Mexican food on a wet and dark week night. We had heard mixed reviews of Julio 's in Bothell and decided to give it a quick try. The restaurant was a little busy but we were welcomed and given a nice booth. Menus, chips and salsa arrived quickly along with water. The menu was somewhat limited. But we were surprised at the limited variety of enchiladas and no chimichangas at dinner rime. I guess we expected a more Tex-Mex selection. Anyway there was a good selection of meats and seafood and I chose shrimp in spicy tomato sauce with onions and mushrooms. My plate was large with black beans and white rice. I also got three tortillas and some sour cream. The flavor was good and the meal was satisfying. I was disappointed in the choices but the food was well prepared and the prices fair. The restaurant was pleasant and the staff good. There was nothing exciting about the offerings, however and we will probably search elsewhere to satisfy our cravings for Mexican food. read more

First time trying Julio's! They have a tent for outdoor seating and indoor seating too. They bring out chips and salsa; the chips were warm and crispy, the salsa is a bit mild and watery. They have an expansive menu; on the menu they state you can view photos of their food but we were a bit confused on where you were to look for the photos. We ordered two margaritas, one strawberry and one top shelf; both were really good. For food, we ordered carne asada chilaquiles with red sauce and pollo mole. Would order the mole again; it had such deep flavor. The chilaquiles weren't our favorite; the egg was hard and not over easy, however, the meat was tasty though. The texture of the chips and sauce made it so the dish wouldn't be something I ordered again. Service was okay; we are gluten free (husband has celiac) and asked for corn tortillas with the pollo mole and they brought flour; thankfully, my husband has ate enough tortillas he could tell the difference before he ate them. They were responsive with exchanging them, but I was a bit surprised the server didn't apologize. Mistakes can happen and my husband didn't get sick, so would definitely go back. read more

Well, my friend and I stopped in for a weekday lunch, asked at the desk if we should choose a table on our own. We sat for a few minutes, then a party of 6-8 people came in, sat down, grabbed menus, and were provided with water and utensils. We sat for 5-10 more minutes, then we were given menus. Water and utensils came several minutes after that. The waitress brought our beverages, said she would be right back to take our order... right back apparently means 15 minutes. When I ordered tacos des pescados, she informed me they were out, so I chose enchiladas. I asked for green sauce and they arrived with red. This was the sweetest red sauce I've ever tasted, and when my friend said it tasted like catsup, I realized it probably was. We spent at least an hour and a half just trying to get served and fed at this establishment, and the service and food quality were not worth it. I will not return. read more

Not quite a four, but much more than a three. I went here for the first time and it's not your typical mexican restaurant. I wouldn't say the food is more authentic, but the approach is different than any if the zillion other Mexican places. The dishes are not salty (which isn't necessarily bad if it is), the food is very fresh and the quality of the beans and beef are better than most places. Instead of the red rice, it's white, and the carne asada isn't salty, it looks like flank steak that has a nice sear and very little in the way of any seasoning. I'll start with the positives. The fajitas were tasty. The salsa with the chips was fresh and delicious as well. I don't bitch on Yelp, so I want this to be constructive criticism. The service was slow today. Looked like there were about 1.5 people waiting on customers so may have been a bit understaffed. I got no drink refill, which I admittedly focus on more than most. And the chicken with the fajitas was not hot, barely warm. This place has potential, and may get a better reputation than it deserves because of its location. I visited Julio's for lunch. I've been interested in eating here for a while, but because it's set back from the road in a little strip mall it's easy to overlook. Their lunch menu is a bit limited, and while I could have easily ordered from the regular menu, I wasn't hungry enough for an entire entree. The standard chips and salsa was quickly brought to the table -- the chips were warm and the salsa was quite good. I ordered the chimichanga. The menu states it's made with chicken but I'm not a chicken fan, so they agreed to substitute carnitas. The lunch took a bit over 10 minutes to be brought to the table. I've had chimichangas that were deep fried and then smothered in cheese, but this wasn't that. It looked to be a wrap that was cooked in a panini maker. That made the chimichanga much more pleasant to eat and didn't leave me feeling overly full. It had refried pinto beans and white rice with cilantro (perhaps a touch of lime) as sides. If it were up to me, I would have definitely added more cilantro & lime to the rice. I had the other half of the chimichanga put in a to-go box. The wait staff was friendly and the restaurant, tho relatively small, was clean and nicely decorated. I'd easily recommend you visit. read more

This use to be a great spot. However, today really was terrible. The food was not great. I got the super burrito verde. Verde sauce was great but that's where it ended the burrito was bland and the steak tasted burnt. The wait staff while friendly never checked in. We got one plate of chips never refilled. We waited over ten minutes to order while others who came after us placed orders and were served. It felt like we were in the Bermuda Triangle of seating. Getting a ticket to pay also took forever. This place is probably some of the best Mexican food I have had . Coming from me that is a strong statement my family owns different Mexican restaurants I also grew up in Mexico for some of my life . The salsa is amazing , tortillas are made homemade . We started with the taquito appetizer which was so delicious . My boyfriend ordered the carne asada it came very tender and seasoned perfectly it was a very large well cut piece as well . I ordered the polo asado very tender and flavorful , Both dishes came with rice and beans which also were very fresh tasting and seasoned perfect . They have multiple salsa options as well my favorite was the green verde sauce very spicy .
