    Coleslaw Lunch
    Rebekah E.

My husband and I were in the area and stopped here for lunch. It was our first and last time here. They bring you out coleslaw, ham and beans, and hush puppies to start. All three were good. The coleslaw reminded me of KFC's coleslaw, which is my favorite kind of coleslaw. The ham and beans were cooked perfectly. The hush puppies were crispy and moist. The 2 stars are for our entrees. I ordered the stuffed crab lunch. As I was eating the stuffing, I started feeling off. The stuffing was greasy. I lifted up one of the crab shells to find a small puddle of grease on the plate. My husband ordered the grilled lemon pepper catfish with a side of mashed potatoes. When I tried the catfish, I instantly tasted dirty water. The catfish was bland. Although the service was good and the restaurant has a nice, rustic vibe to it, this will be a catfish place we will skip from now on.

    Completely 1st course.

We were super impressed with Jumpin Catfish Restaurant! My wife loves fried fish, so I wanted to treat her to dinner here. They brought out coleslaw, beans, and hush puppies, before we even ordered our dinner. That was a very nice touch and much appreciated. She had the fried shrimp which she enjoyed a great deal. I had a four protein combo meal , which was also delicious. I probably wouldn't get the quail next time, but the catfish, trout and potatoes were absolutely delicious. There were a lot of people inside, enjoying the catfish and good company. We will be back here for sure!

Comfortable and casual feel with an Ozark, Bass Pro, Cabiny kind of feel. They brought hush puppies, big bowl of ham and beans, and big bowl of coleslaw prior to my order. I ordered the all you can eat catfish and chose the potato wedges as my meal. My first portion was about 5 catfish fillets and 10+ potato wedges. Coleslaw was kind of a KFC style with a sweet flavor the way I like it. The beans and potatoe wedges were great and I didn't need to salt or season them at all. Food was hot and seemed fresh. I have wanted to come here a long time, but my family don't like seafood. I learned they have lots of chicken options from the menu. Plan to definitely come back! I had no room for a 2nd serving and was unable to switch my order to the cheaper cost as they start you off with one more fillet with the all you can eat than what the order would have been. The cheaper one is only four filets. If you're unsure if you'll be able to eat more than first plate, you might order the 4 piece catfish and then upgrade if you decide you want more (only a couple dollars more). Otherwise service was good and food was great!

beans, coleslaw, catfish, and potato wedges; i ate the hush puppies

No, I mean absolutely no seasoning on the catfish. Cole slaw and tartar sauce were the only thing with seasoning. Come on!

It was great to try and service was good but the catfish was ok but don't get all you can eat because they give you big portions.

Pretty decent place to eat. The decor is a bit creepy. Catfish yummy. The navy beans and hush puppy's are excellent.

We sat at the bar, and the bartender was amazing, full of helpful info about the menu. He told us how the seafood comes in fresh. He recommended oysters to us, and since it was our first time, he threw in a couple of his favorites at no charge. It was also happy hour, and we took advantage of the specials, ordering the cheddar biscuits drizzled with honey and the colossal cocktail shrimp. They really were huge and delicious. We also enjoyed half-price oysters. My husband loved the crushed cocktails We split the mahi-mahi, and we loved how he told us about the fresh fish that had never been frozen and whether it was wild or farm-raised. The mahi was incredible. You could tell it was fresh. We enjoyed the potatoes and the BéreBlanc sauce. This is going to be a place that we will end up becoming regulars at. So happy to have tried it!

The wine bar, for tastings, is right there letting you know wine is a major focus. The selection of wines is also there, each with flavor notes and suggested pairings noted on a card. This provides a pleasant start to an evening. Armed with this information, when we got to the table, we were able to order one for each of us that we thought would suit our pallets. I enjoy sweets so the Scarletto delivered perfectly. My spouse had the Summer Berry Sangria, which she really enjoyed. Along with water and our wines they brought a pretzel bun and butter. It was delicious and I couldn't resist another. We had the prime rib sliders for an appetizer. The accompanying garlic spread was amazing. My wife had the pistachio encrusted grouper came with 3 good sized asparagus spears and mashed potatoes. I sampled and the grouper was about an inch thick, citrus notes and the crust of pistachios slightly salty and good nutty flavor. I had the braised short rib risotto. It had the subtle earthy notes from the mushrooms, totally tender and delicious also. After dinner one of the service ladies refilled my water glass and some accidental spilled in the table. No harm, no foul. But then asked, after cleaning up, if there was anything we would like. I asked for a third pretzel roll and yes, not ashamed, brought it home for tomorrow. Everything else was so good none of it made it to carry home. The restaurant is spotless, plenty of staff in hand to give extra assistance when desired.

I've always enjoyed the wines here and my wife and I enjoy the menu as well. We love the small menu section with healthy items for those who are watching their macros and calories. They also have a nice selection of various pasta dishes, proteins, and seafood. The servers snd staff here are always on point. We have been to a couple of Cooper's Hawk locations and so far this one is our favorite. It doesn't hurt that it's the closest one to our house in Lee's Summit. We make sure to grab our monthly wine bottle and if we are having chicken or fish, especially if it leans Italian, the unoaked Chardonnay is our go to.

The shrimp were plump and satisfying, especially with the seafood cocktail sauce, which had the perfect kick of horseradish. My favorites were definitely the shrimp and the crispy cod, with its irresistible crispy coating. The lobster roll was good, but not my favorite--it was generously coated in sauce, which was a little too much for my liking. Overall, though, a great meal and definitely worth trying!
