After we arrived and relaxed, we were heading to dinner and the car said there was problems with the transmission, tire pressure, engine, all the things you don't want to see...had the car towed to the hotel and tried to find a mechanic. They didn't get how cool this car is being a Japanese Domestic Market car (JDM) with a right-hand drive. I happened to find Jun-Tek on one of these searches and I found someone who actually loves exotics and so I rolled the dice hoping he would know what to do and to do it honestly. I Towed my car into Jun-Tek on Thursday October 17 2018 for overheating (2007 Infiniti M35, 65,000 miles). Jun-Tek gave me a verbal quote for $4,000, then changed it to $5,200. They did not give me a written quote, and they did not start on work. After ten days, they gave me an estimate of TWO MORE WEEKS to repair. They recommended that I drive the car to a local new car dealer before it overheated and trade it in without telling them it had a problem. I lost confidence in their shop and I had the car towed to another shop on Monday, Oct 27 2018 Apparently, Jun-Tek never actually diagnosed the car. My car was repaired by the second mechanic for $645 in two days -the water pump and thermostat were replaced (and they gave me a two year warranty on parts and labor). This was the same part, exactly, that Jun-Tek worked on in March 2017. I'm guessing that they suspected that their work was the problem and may not have wanted to take responsibility. They wasted ten days of my car sitting in their shop. Now the car has a new scratch on right rear fender, apparently from having sat around their repair shop for ten days. read more

First time I used Jun-Tel was for a second opinion from an estimate with the VW dealership. They were awesome, showed me what needed to be done down the road, and was not needed to be done. They charged me nothing for this. Yesterday my car started smelling like fuel, I called them in the morning, they said to bring it right over. They fixed it immediately and charged me a fair price. OMG. What a find this place is. The seat in our Mercedes stopped working. We were told it would be $900 to $2300 to repair. We took it to Jun-Tek. We were met by Brent who was very helpful in getting the order written up. Later in the day they called us to tell us it was a cable that had snapped and they were going to try and repair it. A couple hours later we got a call that it was fixed and working properly. The cost was $300 not the $900 to $2300 the other places had quoted. When we picked up the car we met Jun, the owner. He was so pleasant and genuine and explained everything they had done. I have been taking my 2006 BMW to Palm Springs BMW, for servicing, since 2009. After some ¨miscommunication¨ between my service adviser and myself, I was a little annoyed. I was happy to have received a referral from a business associate, to give Jun-Tek a call. I called Jun-Tek at 5:32pm on a Wednesday and Bryan, not only ANSWERED the phone, but also gave me a quote, right then and there. Let me just say, that his quote was SUBSTANTIALLY less than what BMW had quoted, in fact, I had to ask him twice, as I wanted to make sure that I had heard him correctly! When I pulled in to their shop, Talan was very professional; asked if I had any other concerns with the car (which I did) and proceeded to start the inspection, while I waited in their office (they had quoted me a wait time of approx 30 min). Talan actually asked if I wouldn´t mind looking at some issues that he had found...are you kidding me - who does this, anymore?? Turned out that I needed to have my front brakes replaced (as I had suspected) and that I needed a new radiator reserve tank, as it had a few leaks (which he showed me, personally). With the inspection now completed, I made an appointment for the following week. This time, I was greeted by Bryan, who was just as professional as Talan. He started my paperwork; explained everything in detail and I was off (leaving my car in their very capable hands). That afternoon, I picked up my car, with all the NECESSARY repairs made to it...by the way, it had been suggested, by BMW, that I have my AC REPLACED (for approx. $4500.00), for no other reason than, ¨it´s a 2006 and it´s about the time that they need this to be done¨!!! Mind you, I´ve never had any issues with my AC, it runs cold and my car has only 40K miles on it! Needless to say, I´m ecstatic to have found Jun-Tek! Jun and his entire crew, are fantastic and have only your car´s best interests at heart. We have gone to Jun-Tek several times for servicing our car, a 2002 Mercedes with relatively low milage and having repairs made. The people there are very honest, efficient and friendly. We were told by someone else that we needed " a repair" of something amounting to about $ 480.00 and they told us there with the mileage on our car that such a repair is not likely. Fast service and I do not feel I was taken advantage of. Had a bad leak on drivers side at the arm that connects to wheel? I ran over a curb. They replaced and checked out the other side as well. Really they could have said I need to replace the other but they did not! I would not have known if I needed or not. My Mercedes was ready when they said it would be which means a lot to me!! I was looking for a good mechanic to work on my BMW as an alternative to the expensive, and not too competent, local dealer. I had previously looked up Jun-Tek on yelp and thought I would give them a try the next time I needed work. About two weeks ago the electric water pump failed on my BMW and I called Jun-Tek to see they could get me in. They got me an appointment immediately, they replaced the water pump and thermostat and I also had them flush and refill the brake fluid at the same time. Brian was great in helping with the appointment and Jun and his people did a quick and thorough job on the car. I must comment that Jun had up-to-date computer diagnostic equipment which gave timed procedures through the cars OBD computer for both the water pump and brake flush, as good as or better than the dealer. Work done quickly and price was considerably lower than that quoted by dealer. Since then I returned to get some additional work done, replaced front wheel bearing hubs, and work was done quickly and efficiently at a more than fair price. Kudos to Jun and his crew. I have been going to Jun-Tek since they were Tys automotive, so for almost 20 years now. When Ty left I choose to give Jun a chance an he did ok but wasn't anywhere close to Tys quality, but i kept giving him chances since he was familiar with my 93 Toyota pickup. The last three year he has been really declining in his workmanship an him trying to get over on me as I'm having to bring my vehicle back up there sometimes up to three times for something to be fixed that he said it was each time I left with it while still charging me each time I return. This last time I took it in for a new starter that he gave me a price of 179.00, which i said go ahead. Later on he called me saying that it wasn't the starter that it was the cables saying he was going to fix that. said he would call me back in a few with a price. He never did call me an no one answered my calls the multiple times I tried calling that afternoon. I finally got fed up an had someone drive me up there before he closed. As I was pulling in he gave me a call saying he was finished an that it was going to be more then the original quote. I said you never did quote me or called me back when you said you was. If he had I would have told him no at 250.00 especially when i looked up the price of the parts that he uses from Napa an they cost only 10.00 a cable. That's 40.00 less then the price of a starter from the same place an the cables would have been a lot easier then the starter cause I could have done them but the stater would have been too much for me in this truck. This is not the first time he has said "my bad" on calling me back an just doing the work without my approval knowing I would pay cause I told him I need my truck today an not try to keep it a few days like he always tries doing. After he told me the price of 250.00 I said I wasn't paying that price, so he dropped it down to the original price of 179.00 an wrote me out a bill for the parts an labor. When he gave the bill I read the part for parts an he tried to charge me almost 70.00 for parts that cost only 20.00 from Napa where he gets his parts from. I confronted him on this an he adjusted the price. That was still almost 120.00 in labor charges to remove two cables an replace them. That's a total of four screws that he took out an put back in to change them. Now don't get me wrong he made it look nice but not 120.00 worth. I paid the bill of 145.00 an told him that I would be bringing back to get my old wires an my money back if this wasn't the problem after I told him what it was after AAA had told me what the problem was. It started up an did again the next day, but when it was time to go home it once again didn't start doing the exact same thing it did before an start sometimes an not others. Because of this I missed an appointment that was much needed an was the whole reason I made sure I told him it must be finished the day before. I have left him a message on his phone an still have not heard from him. I'm a nice guy an don't want conflict so I probable won't go up there for my cables or my money but I will never return to him again, an I don't think he cared if I did as I told him I would after this last time. I've never wrote one of these before an its taken me about 16 years of service for me to finally break my habit an leave him an write a review. As I read his reviews they were all new customers that gave him his stars. So in my mind he only cares for the new customers not the older ones that he is getting over on an charging out-rate prices for parts an labor. read more
