I came here because of the Snoopy collaboration and was really excited to try it. The presentation and packaging are adorable, but unfortunately the drinks disappointed me. Ordered the Chocolate Hazelnut Matcha Latte and the Cold Mango Matcha Latte. The matcha quality was disappointing in both drinks. The chocolate one tasted more like an overly sweet chocolate milk with very little matcha flavor, while the mango and matcha completely not combined well. For almost $17 for two drinks, I expected much better quality. I couldn't even finish the drinks and ended up throwing both of them away. If you're stopping by because of the Snoopy collaboration, the drinks are definitely photogenic. But if you're looking for good matcha, I personally don't think this place is worth it. read more

I have frequented this location and found it to be one of my favorite matcha spots in the Irvine area. It is located in a big plaza with plenty of parking. Even on a busy day, I don't have to wait too long for my order to be ready. It is Asian-owned and I love supporting my local AAPI businesses. The inside is very vibrant with a lot of seats with outlets. There's always AC running so it's nice to enjoy, especially on a hot day. The menu is pretty extensive. They have matcha cold brews, matcha lattes, non-matcha drinks, soft serves, and onigiri rice balls. 3/12/2026 First time at Junbi. Hojicha Cold Foam Latte Slight nuttiness with an earthy flavor, like cocoa. When mixed with the vanilla cold foam, it tastes a bit like a light coffee with cream with that light earthy flavor coming through. The cold foam really makes this drink taste unique! I ordered through self-kiosk and I got hojicha with normal sweetness and light ice. I mixed everything before drinking and it was just the perfect amount of sweetness. Some people may like it a bit sweeter, but personally, this was perfect. This was really good! I would reorder in a heartbeat! Strawberry Matcha Coldbrew Ordered via self-kiosk. It was a bit tricky as it had too many options you had to either opt out of or add. They will not let you check out until you press the right buttons. Got it with light ice, no milk, normal sweetness. I sipped it without mixing and immediately tasted the strawberry puree which was a tad too sweet, but when mixed with the matcha, it all balanced out and tasted great together, like a good refreshing drink on a hot day. The strawberry puree tasted great too with real strawberry flavor. Both drinks were great and I would reorder both again! Customer Service It was minimal, since I did order via self-order kiosk, but the person at the front did offer to take my order when she saw me walk in. Came in the afternoon to check out the Snoopy collab! They were sold out of almost every merch item, but I managed to get a matcha whisk. The server who helped me was really nice and let me know that I can check out the whisk before purchasing since they had a sample on the wall. Cute cafe in Irvine. Lots of great drink options. Several interesting matcha options. Tried the Madagascar vanilla matcha latte (apparently one of fav)....sooo good. It's essentially matcha latte with Korean 미숫가루 (?an assortment of 7 different bean powders used to make quick shakes). It was pretty good. Also ordered one of those rice balls (tsukudani kelp). The crispy seaweed is provided kn the sides. I think you are suppose to wrap the rice ball. Nevertheless thought it was decent but nothing special. Wish they had it with kimchee. Junbi is currently having a collab with BT21 so you know I had to check it out. I got the BT21 galaxy coffee latte with no sweetness. I don't like my drinks overly sweet or sugary. The taste was fantastic and I love myself some purple potato and black sesame. Those two are my weakness and having it with espresso was heavenly. I tried to order the drink through the machines but they didn't offer the BT21 galaxy series drink there or the merch. I went to the counter to order my drink and got one of the blind box glass drinkware. They had all the BT21 characters out on display and it was SO SO cute. I loved all the merch but it was really pricey so I only got one blind box. There's limited seating inside since the BT21 display took up the front of the store. Ugh. I find myself coming to Junbi less and less. Don't get me wrong, the drinks are still good and consistent. What is not consistent is the price. At one point I was paying over $9 for a boba drink. And just this weekend, I paid $8+ for my go to (strawberry matcha) in a "shrunk cup". It looks like the drink went from a venti to a grande. Whether hot or cold, the matcha drinks at Junbi reign supreme! Ever since trying Junbi at a Yelp Elite event, we've visited a dozen or so times to try different drinks from their extensive menu. Two of our favorites are: Madagascar Vanilla Matcha Latte: delicious vanilla flavor and a classic choice whether iced or hot! I alternate between the two depending on weather and mood. Guava Matcha Latte: if you like guava, you'll love the fruity and fragrant flavor of this drink! I've also tried this both hot and cold and it works well either way, with maybe the iced version edging out the hot version by a slim margin. Agree with other reviews when they say that the pure fruit teas are not as strongly flavored as the matcha drinks. Go with their matcha specialty and choose any of their matcha drinks for maximum enjoyment! Service is good and we've never had to wait long. It is a good different from the classical matcha pairings. I would get again; I subbed for organic coconut milk and 0% sweet bc the yam itself added sweetness. Guava matcha cold brew was a balance of fruity and strong matcha. I can tolerate coffee well, which this matcha cold brew won't let you down. I enjoyed and pro if one doesn't like the taste of coffee but needs energy boosting. Cold Mango Matcha Latte had pieces of mango in the purée. It reminded me of a fusion between a matcha shake and mango lassi. Mango lover would appeal, I like my matcha drink a bit less latte (I favor their cold brew style) however it serves its name well! Dessert: you can never go wrong with their traditional matcha soft serve!! A girlie sweet treat to cure a girlie sweet tooth. Service: Both employees were very kind and diligent. Came by with a friend a little after 5pm on a Monday afternoon in July, and there was no line! Only a couple of other customers were there, so it was pretty quiet. There were two tablets available for ordering, but if you go up to the cashier, they'll add an extra shot of matcha free of charge. - Matcha Latte (less ice, less sweet, whole milk) - refreshing and not too sweet, but I was disappointed that it was more of a matcha-milk drink and not a really concentrated matcha type of drink. My friend was not a fan - Matcha Vanilla Swirl Soft Serve with Red Bean - definitely much stronger flavor compared to the matcha latte. I think the vanilla overpowers the matcha a bit, and if you try this before drinking the matcha latte, I don't think you'll like the matcha latte much haha Overall thought it wasn't bad, but I've heard people rave about Junbi, so I'm wondering if I didn't order correctly. I ordered the Tropical Refresher with less ice and less sugar and an addition of almond jelly. The drinks came out pretty quickly. Ice level was good but it was too sweet. The guava puree was good and the almond jelly was soft with a light almond flavor. It seemed like my friends enjoyed their drinks. Overall, giving Junbi Matcha & Tea a 4/5. Had an opportunity to check this place out and it did not disappoint. I'm so honest I don't regularly have matcha unless it's a hot tea, but in wanted to try their cold duck with mango flavoring. It was pretty tasty, and even though it's not my thing, if try a different flavor just for fun. Was l this place was clean and the lyb took my order right away while another couple was using the self order system. Very friendly and pleasant service. I had no idea that I would seriously enjoy the right ball. In just the salmon rice ball and i wanted to take it home and enjoy, but I decided to get into it to taste it in the car. The vibes here are so welcoming -- bright yellows, cozy, and super cutesy! Perfect spot if you love cheerful, aesthetic cafés. I got the Guava Matcha (regular sweet) and really enjoyed it -- the flavor was refreshing and balanced. My friend tried the Blueberry Matcha (regular sweet) and rated it 3/5, saying it tasted a bit watery but still cute for photos. I choose the "less sweet" option for my Guava drink as well! Came by to try out the tea. Originally ordered the peach green tea. To find out that they had ran out of peach topping for my drink. So the staff asked if I'd like to change my order. Ended up with the yuzu dragonfruit tea instead. The drink was presented very nicely with the color contrast. The boba was chewy and not mushy. I visited on a Sunday. It was nice and quiet. There are a few seats so I wouldn't say to roll in with a big group unless you plan on taking it to go. Team member was very kind and helpful explaining the different matcha drinks and topping options. She recommended going less sweet which was perfect. Sweet but not too sweet. I got the blended matcha strawberry drink. My husband got the golden peach blended matcha and they were both good! I love this place so much !!! This is probably my 4th time getting this place but my first time ordering in person and I must say they know how to make these drinks . I love the topping choices that they have to offer and their matcha drinks are amazing . Super refreshing and never bitter after taste . I wish they had crystal boba as one of their topping choices but it's still delicious either way. I love how spacious this place is perfect for when the it gets crowded but there's not a lot of seating inside tho gotta get lucky if you want to make sure you have somewhere to sit if you come here with group of friends . The service is pretty quick you can either order at the kiosk or at the cash register. Either way you will get served and your drinks out right away. I love the how quick they made my drinks tho . I ordered at the kiosk and about 5 10 mins later boom my drinks were ready. But gotta keep in mind it wasn't busy when I went so I don't know how it is during their busier hours. They have a self-serve ordering system which is nice and efficient, and the drinks are prepared pretty quickly. I really enjoy their Miffy collab drinks so far - the sakura lychee is delicious! I've had the sakura lychee matcha latte and I enjoyed the mostly matcha flavor that I got from it with a light lychee flavor and lychee bits.
