    Smash burger
    Bryan P.

I'm sorry to say this was easily one of the most frustrating service experiences I've had recently. We got seated pretty quickly, but after that we just sat waiting for our waitress to approach us, greet us, or take our drink order. Instead, we were left sitting there waiting. We eventually had to go back to the host stand and ask for someone to come help us. I believe the manager got involved and sent out an appetizer for us, which we thought was a nice gesture. Our waitress then came over. After waiting so long, we already had our full orders ready to go. From there, we continued to have various issues and often had to remind or prompt our waitress about drinks and other things we needed. At times, we had to repeat requests multiple times. She brought out dinner rolls with strawberry butter. We weren't really sure about the strawberry butter and requested regular butter instead, but after waiting another 5-10 minutes, we ended up finishing the bread anyway, especially since everything had already been so delayed. Finally, our meals came out. My smash burger was fine overall. It had decent flavor, although a couple bites were a bit salty for me, and the fries were also somewhat salty. As the restaurant started to clear out toward the end of our meal, things did begin to improve, but it felt like too little, too late. It was really disappointing because the other reviews spoke so highly of this location, and unfortunately our experience just didn't match up.

Had another great time here, I can't stop bragging about Junction 421. If you are in the Monkey Junction section of Wilmington, stop in. They have specials each night of the week, pub style atmosphere, and large portions. This visit, we are out with friends, so no photos this time. However, for apps, my fav are the Brussels sprouts and we tried the potato skins. I gave the Carolina burger a try and it was huge. Others had the grilled salmon with veggies, steak sandwich, and the fettuccine Alfredo. We all took our leftover food to go. The portions are huge, service is great, and the prices are pretty fair for the size of the meals. I would like to try a milkshake next visit. Or a dessert. Either way, you will leave very full!

    Burnt spinach and artichoke dip.

I do not understand how this place is rated so highly. The prices are ridiculous in relation to the quality of the food. The rolls brought to the table were exceptionally unremarkable. The potato skins were freezer burnt, unevenly sized, puny, and missing green onions. The oil the fries and chicken were fried in desperately needed to be changed. The chicken tenders were anything but; they were super thick tough, and overcooked. And the spinach and artichoke dip was burnt. Based on other pics in reviews, burnt is how they serve it. It's been a long time since I've spent that much money on "food" that tasted that bad, if ever. However, the service was fine.

Very friendly and accommodating! Great atmosphere, from beginning to end awesome service. They gave us free stuffed cheese balls for being first timers. The food was excellent, the best fish and chips I have had since being in Willmington. My daughter ordered the steak with cherry sauce also excellent. Would highly recommend.

    Fresh rolls and strawberry butter

My fiancé and I were running errands and decided to come in for a quick meal one evening. We looooove the fresh rolls with the strawberry butter (seriously, it's amazing, get lots of it!) and the fried pimento cheese balls. We were so busy eating these, I missed pictures of our main meals- the 421 chicken entree and the smashburger. Each time we come here, the food is always tasty with good sized portions. We never have to wait to get a table, but the restaurant is at least 75% full so definitely bustling.

    Shark tank!

Brought my grandkids here for dinner. Granddaughter chose off the children's menu: pizza, it was huge! Grandson picked a double bacon burger and fries: ate it all! I had the steak salad. It was very good. We were given a free sample of the fried palmetto cheese! Yum yum! We ended up ordering chicken wings also as the kids were hungry. The big hit was the shark tank drink for the kids. Very cute, it's enormous and the kids took some we home. A bit on the pricey side, but we did get an appetizer and the shark tank which drive up the $$$z. I'd go again,

What a fantastic evening at Dram Yard…read more We were a little concerned we might miss our 5:30 reservation after getting delayed by a seven-car accident on the bridge, but we arrived just a couple of minutes late and it wasn't an issue at all. From the moment we arrived, the experience was relaxed, welcoming, and exactly what we needed. We chose to sit in the beautiful courtyard, and with temperatures in the 70s, sunshine overhead, and a gentle breeze, it couldn't have been a more perfect setting. The outdoor gazebo bar creates a wonderful atmosphere for enjoying a cocktail before dinner, and if the weather isn't cooperating, the indoor dining space is equally inviting. A special thank you to Sarah, whose service was outstanding. She was cheerful, attentive, and genuinely seemed happy to be there. The restaurant wasn't crowded, which made for a peaceful and unhurried dining experience. For drinks, I ordered the Ghost Town, while my wife enjoyed the Venus Flytrap. Both were beautifully prepared and easy to see why they're among the restaurant's popular cocktails. The food was equally impressive. I had the Spaghetti Carbonara, and it was exceptional. The kitchen even accommodated my request for extra freshly cracked black pepper, which took an already excellent dish to another level. My wife ordered the Little Gem Salad with shrimp, and it was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. We also shared the Tuna Tartare Tostada, which was outstanding--beautiful presentation, fresh tuna, and a great balance of textures and flavors. Adding to the experience was a bottle of Albariño that paired wonderfully with the meal. What stands out most about Dram Yard is its atmosphere. It's the kind of place where you can settle in, slow down, enjoy a handcrafted cocktail, and forget about the stresses of the day. Whether you're looking for a date night, an evening with friends, or simply a quiet place to relax, Dram Yard delivers. Excellent service, creative cocktails, outstanding food, and one of the most relaxing outdoor dining spaces in Wilmington. We'll definitely be back.

We each got a bowl of gazpacho, an appetizer size portion of two very small duck lumpia followed by tile fish with flat noodles and a savory broth. The course then was a shared short rib that was entirely fat/gross, one smal grilled onion and two tiny empanadas to share . Desert was a small scoop of ice cream and small crumble type cobbler to share. We in no way felt like it was $90, the portions were not enough to sustain us and we felt incredibly cheated and somehow conned/robbed of over $200 for each of us couples out. Very disappointing!

It was the first night of a new menu and there was a free concert offered so the restaurant was filling quickly. Two factors that often make for some hiccups. Not a one! We received friendly, knowledgeable, professional service. We had an assigned server but other team members were happy to provide support by topping up water glasses or clearing plates which had barely been cleaned. The food? First rate. We ladies shared the chopped salad- a salute to spring- including goat cheese, red onions, mushrooms and strawberries along with crisp romaine lettuce. True to the name- easily managed bite sized morsels- artfully dressed with fresh vinaigrette which accentuated the fresh vegetables rather than overpowering. We were offered and gladly accepted fresh, warm rolls and soft, spreadable butter. My friend sipped her mocktail happily while I enjoyed a California Pinot Gris from the pleasantly refreshing drinks menu with wines by bottle or glass, mocktails and craft cocktails for we who appreciate the pleasures of mixologist. Oh the soup of the day! A modest title for an ambrosia of seafood- shrimp, crab and fish- bathed in a sinfully rich cream sauce and studded with cubes of tender potatoes and once crispy bacon- not limp, fatty stand in's. The all of it? An utterly satisfying meal for we who both love Art we drink in with our eyes, music with our ears and? Food that feeds our bodies and makes our palates sing. The only complaint I would have is that the Salmon Tacos was a bit small. The dish is two small tacos with a side of tortilla chips. There is no salsa, no pico de gallo, no slaw. I was actually sorry that I didn't get an appetizer. I was still a little hungry after I finished. We didn't want any of the dessert offered this time. Again, everything was great. Service, food, atmosphere, outside patio. Just my dish was a little less in size. I will keep that in mind next time we visit. Reservations are recommended since the dining room is cozy and they might not be able to accommodate you without one. The place is so cute inside, very cozy with fresh roses on every table. The menu is small, but has a nice variety of favorites that you will find it easy to choose. I asked if there were any specials, but not on Saturday night. Friday night has a short rib special you could call ahead and reserve. That is a nice tip, since she mentioned they may run out. We decided to start with the tomato basil soup and a Caesar salad. Beautiful presentation on the soup and an amazing flavor. So delicious. The salad is very large and looked great. They brought out a second basket of bread with delicious herb butter. I really had to stop eating the bread! For entrees, we went with the goat cheese crusted grouper, with had beautiful puréed potatoes and squash and zucchini. I wasn't sure if I would like goat cheese with grouper, but it was a fantastic pairing. The scallops were large and crispy on the outside on top of a spinach risotto. So rich and tasty.
