I've been here a couple of times and am surprised I've never written a review because they are #1 in tacos. I've tried most places in NYC near and far -specifically for tacos- and juniors is TOP 1 100%. Today I had to write this review because we made an order and wanted more so badly that we ordered another rack of chicken tacos with celery and onion. If you want great service a great meal and overall an amazing experience come here. The place itself is very casual, nothing fancy and in a residential area with not too much around but it is 10/10. In all of uptown I dare say the best. Challenge me someone. My ONLY complaint would be that although the tortillas are THE BEST I EVER HAD, they are small. But Juniors Tacos was very accommodating. If you're ever in Dykeman stop by. It's a cute To-go spot, but they'll accommodate if you want a group reservations, both outdoors and indoors. We celebrated my sisters 24th birthday with a bunch of her friends. They even hooked us up with a $45 bottomless special. I went to Junior's on Friday June 10 I ordered chicken quesadillas and a Heineken I really don't like beer in a can but I guess for safety reasons they serve cans so I had the cold Heineken did he was my server she was very friendly real nice and she kept checking on me to see if I needed anything extra after my quesadilla I ordered three soft tacos two steak and shrimp I suggest when you order tacos you get the shredded cheese not the Mexican cheese. It was a good day an the food was great just need to fix the window glass it was broken and could be dangerous if you bump into it the door glass as well. The manager came in Scarlett. I thought Dede did a great job by herself with the amount of customers eating outside and inside an the frozen drinks was fly out the door mind you it was one girl doing her thing. I know Managment don't get to see everything but this girl was doing her job by herself no help at all I have seen other people not to be able to do the job but she is great . We should lift our employees not break them down hint one minute in a place does not show if someone can handle the job if you don't see what they have done . Finally got a chance to try it out. The food is decent! Doesn't seem like a lot of food but it will definitely fill you up. My only complaint is that the food took about 25 minutes to arrive even though we were the only people sitting in the restaurant that were eating. Music is entirely too loud. Really I'd like to give this place 4 1/2 stars. The service could be a bit more attentive (and the table was noticeably sticky the last time I ate there). That said, it's the tacos! Omg, they are delicious. I have had all of them except the steak. soft tacos and crunchy tacos, shrimp, chicken and pork carnitas, and they are all really really delicious. The food overall is home style and very tasty. Not dirt cheap for the area, but certainly reasonably priced. I finally ventured to Junior's after reading many positive reviews, but I ended up thinking it was pretty mediocre. I must admit that the ambiance at Junior's is on the gross side, so that may have been what contributed to my feeling that the food wasn't so great. First of all, it smelled VERY strongly of "bathroom" in the restaurant. There was just a powerful, pervasive smell of bathroom cleaner in the air. It was gross. Second of all, the music was beyond loud. We actually asked them to turn it down a little. I'm all for a little mood music, but this was PUMPING. It felt like being at a club. The food was okay. We had tacos and quesadillas. The rice wasn't good, as it appeared to be short grain and on the greasier side. The beans were okay. Granted, these guys might be the only local authentic taco purveyors, but I'd rather eat inauthentic tacos or no tacos at all. There are other much better Mexican restaurants in Inwood or that will deliver to Inwood. read more

It was my very first time here and I must admit the food was amazing but the service was subpar. The waiter was rude and inattentive. There were people right next to me and the person I was with that came in after and got helped and served way before us. I'm not sure if he had something against the person I was with but point of the matter is that if we pay for a service then the quality of the service should be standard. I love Mexican food. I was very excited about this place. A lot of my friends dine at this restaurant. I ordered once and it took forever. Today I order, they got my order completely wrong. My meal was $9 I gave the guy a $10 and he tells me in Spanish -the tip is bad- what?! Ok yeah it's only a dollar but my meal was $9 lol. Anyways I call just to let them know that next time your delivery guy shouldn't be so nasty about being tipped or not tipped. Then I get a call from the owner talking about -what was it that the deliver guy said?- WOW. Really? What are you a cop? When a customer calls with a complaint just let your delivery guy know not to do that and that's it, end of story. Do not waste my time calling me trying to defend your lousy delivery person. Grr. I'm like trying to help them not be assholes but it just made them look worse. This is my go to spot with my boyfriend we love it here. The shrimps tacos the wings the quesadilla. Always done so good and correctly. Drinks are always on point also. And my boyfriend is okay with their hookah hopes it can be a tad stronger. I'm not giving it 5 stars because there Guac is weak always seems like there missing something. Don't bother ordering unless you speak fluent Spanish. If you call in English, you'll be put on hold pretty much indefinitely. This is my 3rd time ordering in the last couple months and each time I'm on hold for 5+ minutes before I just give up and call again. This starts the whole cycle over again, until I have to ask more firmly (which I'm not thrilled about having to do) to have my order taken. Then I only need to wait a couple more minutes for them to find someone who can sorta speak English enough to take my order.
