Pretty shady place. It is inside a hotel, right next to some dance club. There were a lot of drunk, yelling young people outside which felt quite ghetto and uncomfortable. Once inside, it seems classy at first BUT service is slow and doesn't put much effort in, which is typical for places that automatically add gratuity to every bill. Why to sweat if you're getting a 20% tip anyway. When it gets closer to their closing time, they simply take away lights from your table, so you have to finish your drink fast in a darkness. Also, since it is right below a hotel, there are likely prostitutes shopping around for clients around the bar. Also, watch your bill, servers make mistakes, obviously not in your favor. read more

Wow. This restaurant in the 1 Hotel is a find. The interior here is amazing. It has 1970s vibes, but is sprawling, with ferns and other plants, wicker, light woods and beiges, and comfortable seating areas. You might get the vibe of your friend's parents with the huge comfortable living room. And huge it is. They have an abbreviated food menu here. The food is good. There should be something for all tastes. The food doesn't seem to belong to a specific theme (or cuisine of origin) here - there is seafood (sea bass), steaks, chicken, burgers in the veggie and grass-fed beef versions, and all types of charcuterie category foods. You'll find almonds, dates, and olives, along with a full board of cheeses or thinly sliced meats, or both. There are fries, focaccia, and vegetables, and everything we tried was delicious. This lobby bar really shines with their drinks. You'll find craft bartenders, fresh organic ingredients from their on premises garden, and unique delicious cocktail combinations. As a full bar, of course they can custom make any drink you like or create something to your specifications. Whether you're staying at this hotel or not, this venue is definitely worth a visit. Beautiful spot but service is abysmal. Apparently we didn't look the part so the male server with a pony tails a s a short beard (honestly looked like Fabio w/a beard circa 1995) purposely ignored us as he payed attention to the folks seated next to us. After 45 minutes of being ignored we left. They lost out and he lost out on a good tip. (I regularly tip very strongly. Note for the management of 1 Hotel. Get better staff that don't ignore your guests. I understand this is LA, but the blatant ignorance of this server is unacceptable. It's spacious yet completely comfortable as an intimate space. I can't get over how well this whole hotel was remodeled from an already beautiful hotel. You can also buy small bites to pair with your drinks. Drinks|| Black & Gold: tequila, activated charcoal, agave, & lime topped with gold sprinkles and a few sprays of gold coloring to ring in the 2020 spirit. Very smooth & not overly sweet. I would have liked more of the gold sprinkles to complement the black drink. Ilegal Mule: Ilegal Mezcal, ginger, goji berry liquor, and lime. Sweet, fruity, with a spritzy experience from the soda. The goji berry adds character to the drink, but I would have liked more of the flavor to shine through. They accidentally got one of our drinks wrong, but whatever. Manager and our waitress were amazing) Drinks: 3/5 (It was a hit or miss; drinks on their menu were great, but off menu needs a bit of work. My Greyhound tasted like water) Food: 4/5 (Based on friends' thoughts, as I wasn't able to eat that day. They said it's what a food in that setting should taste like, but not a "WOW" factor) Parking: Valet is $16/2 hrs with validation, then $6/hr after that :( There is another parking lot across the street, which I didn't check, and street parking that is impossible to find. The bar has multiple soft plush couches and chairs along with a decent sized bar. Servers are attentive and the bartenders are seasoned. Great ambiance but the bartenders use counterfeit spirits in their cocktails and they do it unashamedly and tell you all the bars do it. There's a drink on their menu that says it's made with absinthe but instead of using absinthe they use Pernod. Instead of the specific gin listed they give you a different gin. The decor and vibe was great. Unfortunately everything else was lacking. The drinks (even the classic drinks that any half decent bartender should make perfectly) were disappointing at best. There was one server for the entire lounge and each drink took about 10 to 15 minutes to arrive. The fries we ordered weren't good. I would've been much happier with McDonalds fries. On top of that, we were there for 2 or 3 hours and the valet parking was $38. At $20 a drink, I expected so much more. If you don't care about the quality of your food or drink but want a pretty place to sit, this is the bar for you. read more

I brought 3 different friends today and we were let down. Once again we were told the DJ would be here and nothing. The music they have on right now will put you to sleep.
