Old Hollywood meets well curated drinks with nostalgic classic music and a scene that makes you feel extra glamourous. Stopped by during the week, shortly after they opened, with plenty of bar seating and booth seating area. Place feels cozy, with so many details. From the wood bar paneling to the vintage sound system, it felt so aesthetically pleasant! The bartender quickly served us some water before getting our drink order. The menu itself is so creative, detailed, inspired by the Sunset Strip, with drinks named after famous music venues. This isn't your basic bar. This place curates its drinks with details and precision. Worth a stop if you are ever in the area. Fun Fact: TimeOut LA released an article, sharing Bar Next Door was on their list for Top 100 Best bars in North America. This is competing with big places like New York, Miami, Las Vegas. So to have a bar ranked worthy in your neighborhood, it's worth a visit. If you are a bar whore, you need to check it out.

Coming to the bar on Thursday and bumping into a super cool music event. This spot is ranked no. 100 for North America best bar!

I didn't just feel classy in this bar...I felt like I belonged to a well-dressed mob family secretly run by the film industry. Which might not be too far off as the building once housed Marilyn Monroe's talent agent. But I digress...this old Hollywood feel bar had it all. The smell of leather booths, secrets and someone who surely danced with Marilyn Monroe and Sinatra back in the day. The drinks were so detailed, with a backstory of each on the menu, which also by the way, was very classy. Service was great, although very minimal conversation. Maybe they are going with the mob theme and know where the bodies are buried, or maybe it's a quite bartender, nonetheless, a worthy stop for a drink.

Such a cute little bar in the heart of West Hollywood! Found this place on yelp actually and was so surprised the day I showed up. They are very very, very busy and the space is very tight so if you're not going in tight spaces, I would skip. Their drinks are very unique and not watered down to say the least. Overall, a great spot for date night!

A calmer bar located in the middle of Hollywood bar/club chaos. Perfect place to grab drinks with friends. The Chateau Marmont, was a perfect twist of a Cosmopolitan. And this is coming from someone who isn't a big fan of them. The service was incredibly friendly. There is bar seating, booths I think you have to reserve in advance, and some extra seating in the back. Parking is tricky but there is paid parking ($20) near the Roxy which is a short walk.

I loooove this bar! I walked over after a show at the Roxy a few months ago and I can't wait to go back. I love the old Hollywood vibe and the newspaper menu. My friend ordered a Manhattan and she loved it, I only had a glass of wine. Definitely will visit again.

This place is so good! The drinks are delicious, I really recommend the Chateau Marmont! Prince Pizza being next door is amazing to eat some delicious pizza with your drinks! Service is great always filling up our waters and being so helpful. The only thing I'd say negatively is the parking situation is a little hard but there is a public parking that charges $20 two blocks down!

Great service. Great retro vibe. It was our first time and we absolutely loved it. The drinks were amazing and their homemade pistachio cream liquor that they have for Saint Paddy's day is incredible. The bartenders even made me my own drink with it mixed with vodka.

I knew my boyfriend would love this bar. He's really hard to surprise so I was ecstatic when I saw the grin on his face when we walked in. You immediately feel 'old Hollywood' as you walk through the door. Intimate booths, dim lighting, and groovy old school music. The extensive drink menu is printed on newspapers, another cute addition. They have signature cocktails, classic cocktails, beer, wine (even skin contact!), and seltzers. If you're hungry, they even offer a slice of prince street pies! The server was attentive and the vibes were great. I would definitely come back.

    A perfect Manhattan

BarNextDoor is a beautiful place with upbeat art deco decor and energy to match. The bartender is Marshall and he nails a 1930s transatlantic accent with effortless charm. He also makes a great manhattan. The legend Hendo also reins over this spot and is always truly wonderful to see again in our city of angels. If you're hungry this place is also magically a pizza place all one has to do is ask. The menu is also very cool and I wish I had actually taken one, and perhaps next time, I just might (kidding kidding ... kinda :)

What a vibe! Came by after seeing Super Duper Kyle at the Troubadour. This drink was amazing!

I'm actually obsessed with this bar. Every time I walk through the door, I just have the absolute best night. The drinks are delicious, the service is fantastic, the ambiance is top notch. I love that the menu is printed on what looks like an old-time newspaper and even includes the history of the building. Whether you get one of the classic cocktails like an espresso martini or try one of their signature cocktails, you won't be disappointed. I especially like the Beverly Hills Hotel, Chateau Marmont and The Standard -- the latter of which is their take on an aperol spritz, and changes based on which house-made soda they use. Okay, now I need to go again!

What a fun night!! Drinks were amazing and so was the bartender helping us that night. Amazing ambience and vibes. Would be back for a fun friday night out.

You'll want to steal this menu!

I emailed the bar to make a reservation since the online system was down, and they emailed back immediately to confirm -- and even said they would surprise my mom with an extra birthday cake! Now all I had to do was wait 3 weeks until her visit so the experience could finally happen. The day arrived and I got my mom to Maybourne Bar with her none the wiser. From the moment we stepped through the door, the experience was a 1 million out of 10. Every course is unbelievable. This is a caviar tasting in the best way -- all nine courses are topped with generous helpings of delicious N25 caviar. You get sweet, salty, savory, comfort food, upscale dining, everything comes together in the absolute best way. I especially loved the deconstructed deviled egg and the lobster roll, and the ice cream was some of the best I've ever had. The chips and dip came with the cutest miniature potato chips (although I'll admit I could have used a few more), and the caviar salmon burger was super flavorful. And, true to their word, they surprised my mom with a birthday cake -- and then surprised us both with complimentary lychee cocktails! The service was impeccable as well. Each person on the waitstaff was kind, helpful, and accommodating. We loved how descriptive they were of each dish. It was also really nice of them to decide to give us an extra 2-top so we would have room for all of the courses. This is not only an incredible tasting menu, but made even more incredible by the price. 10 courses and a glass of champagne are $85. I was honestly shocked at how much we received for under $100. I cannot recommend this experience highly enough. This is a true gem in Beverly Hills. I'm already planning my next visit!

On multiple occasions, Elton has given me poor service and a noticeable attitude. I chose to overlook it at first, but eventually I brought it to management's attention because the treatment was consistent and unacceptable. After that complaint, the situation escalated. When I returned, Elton refused to serve me altogether. He would not look at me, acknowledge me, or take my order. I was left sitting there while being completely ignored. It became so obvious that other guests sitting next to me noticed and were concerned enough to step in and ask him why I wasn't being helped and to tell him to serve me. That should never have to happen. I then asked for the manager I had previously spoken to, Leo, because I wanted to understand what was going on. I still have not received any clear explanation. What's most concerning is that this behavior feels intentional. No employee in hospitality gets to decide who they will or will not serve based on personal feelings. If a staff member's feelings are "hurt" after a complaint, that does not justify refusing service to a guest. That is not professionalism--that is the opposite of hospitality. It was honestly disturbing enough that the people next to me told me directly that it didn't feel right and that I shouldn't come back because it seemed like I wasn't wanted there. That is not okay, especially at an establishment of this caliber. I am actively trying to get in touch with someone at the hotel who can properly address this situation, because this needs to be taken seriously. No guest should ever feel ignored, singled out, or unwelcome in this way.

I really gotta respect their dedication to red meat and the holy art of cooking a damn good steak. This place is essentially what I'm looking for in a restaurant. Basically hits on all cylinders and checks off all the critical boxes. I don't want to sound all dramatic and such, but I'm dying to go back and try all the other items I didn't have, as well as check out the bar experience. I spoke to some locals outside before they opened, and they weren't just lovely -- they also painted a pretty picture of what the overall vibe is here. It's clear a lot of people in the Beverly Hills and Hollywood Hills area love coming here very frequently. Our server, who I assumed is named Nolan because that's what's shown on the receipt, was very accommodating, kind, and easy to talk to. I think he did a fantastic job dealing with my difficult, picky gf. Haha. I can't say anything was less than stellar. The croquettes in that celery purée stuff were phenomenal. Garlic bread was seasoned and baked to perfection. The bone broth sipper was nourishing af. French fries were perhaps the best I've had in years. Broccolini was fresh, high quality, and complimented the steak very well. I'm bummed we only got to try just the ribeye when it came to the cuts, but my gf did not want to order anything under medium or medium rare that night, so that was a bummer. It's her loss! The panna cotta was the creamiest sweet treat in all of LaLa Land. This is a great place, and it's a top-tier steakhouse. SoCal sometimes lacks places of this caliber that NY, Chicago, and SF / Napa have, but this place is a very close contender to some of the top cream-of-the-crop, steak-centered restaurants in the country. Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly and seated promptly. Unfortunately, our initial table was extremely close to a very loud neighboring party, making conversation difficult. To the restaurant's credit, the staff accommodated our request to move, and the new table significantly improved the experience. The food was excellent. We ordered the Dinner for Two, and every component was well executed and enjoyable. The quality of the beef was evident, and it was clear why MATŪ has built such a strong reputation. The cocktails were also well made. Where the experience began to unravel was the service. Wine service took roughly 20 minutes, dessert was noticeably delayed, and our server seemed to disappear for extended periods throughout the evening. The most frustrating part came at the end of the meal when it took more than 25 minutes to receive the check. When it finally arrived, it was delivered by a manager in a manner that felt dismissive rather than hospitable. To make matters worse, an automatic gratuity had already been added to the bill. While I understand the practice in some situations, it felt particularly disappointing given the level of service we received throughout the evening. MATŪ serves outstanding food, and that is what earns this review more than a few stars. However, hospitality is about more than what comes out of the kitchen. For a restaurant operating at this price point, the service should match the quality of the food. Unfortunately, on this visit, it did not. I left impressed by the meal but disappointed by the overall dining experience, and I'm not sure I would return.
